This week's climactic episode of Gossip Girl both solved some problems and created a whole slew of new ones. Serena (Blake Lively) is still acting as the de facto Gossip Girl but Nate (Chace Crawford) and Serena's new half-sister Lola (Ella Rae Peck) have her number. No, wait, Diana Payne (Elizabeth Hurley) has the real Gossip Girl's phone number and uses that to get Serena to steal back the day planner that Nate stole from Diana's hotel room. In it are coded phone numbers possibly revealing the whereabouts of one Jack Bass (Desmond Harrington) who may or may not be Chuck's (Ed Westwick) real father.

Speaking of which, Sir Chuckles enlists his former love Blair (Leighton Meester) to help him scheme a way around Diana's codes. She agrees and Serena decides to help, too, once she discovers that Chuck needs to take down Diana in order to find out who his father is but not without trying to steal the day planner first. They all wind up at a mansion that is actually a brothel (told you this episode was bazonkers) with Lonely Boy Dan (Penn Badgley) in hot pursuit thinking that Blair is canoodling with Chuck again. But wait, there's more! Serena gets super close to finding out who the real Gossip Girl is then totally fails. Diana reveals her true colors and sooooo much more behind the closed doors of the mansion. And let's just say there are secrets in this place of the ghostly variety. If you haven't caught up yet, we won't spoil the rest for you. Check back here weekly for our fashion recap!

As expected, last night's episode of Gossip Girl was dripping with residual drama at every second in the wake of last week's big reveal of Diana Payne (Elizabeth Hurley) as Chuck's (Ed Westwick) mother and the mounting marriage woes between Lily (Kelly Rutherford) and Rufus (Matthew Settle). Dan (Penn Badgley) and Blair (Leighton Meester) are still just sorting out their respective roles in their relationship and an unexpected appearance by both on New York Magazine's latest approval matrix send B into a bit of a emotional tailspin.

Nate (Chace Crawford) is not convinced Diana is Chuck's mom, so he hires a private investigator to dig up the source of Diana's wealth and more about her identity, but Chuck respectfully abstains to sort out what kind of relationship he would like to have with his long lost mum. Lola (Ella Rae Peck) who put Chuck's mama drama on blast is confronted with an impromptu family reunion of her own, discovering that her father is actually Will van der Woodsen (William Baldwin). This makes Lola and Serena (Blake Lively) not just cousins, but half-sisters, and everyone a lot uneasy, especially Lily (of course). Everything comes to a head at Lily's forced family dinner, but if you haven't caught up yet, we won't spoil the rest for you. Check back here weekly for our fashion recap!

Girls Costumes

Jemima Kirke (Jessa Johansson), Lena Dunham (Hannah Horvath), and Zosia Mamet (Shoshanna Shapiro) in 'Girls.'
Photo: Via HBO's 'Girls' Facebook page

We have been waiting for (what feels like) our entire LIVES for the Girls show to premiere on HBO, and now that it finally did, we can happily say that it really does represent a 20-something's life in Brooklyn (not to mention it's filmed literally on the block we live on, NBD *hair flip*). The most realistic part of all, though, are those ensembles. Their no-frills outfits are reminiscent of a penny-pinching recent college grad who still has some expensive pieces left from their still-living-at-the-parents house wardrobe but want to mix it up with some cool, vintage pieces. Fashion Etc spoke with Girls costume designer Jenn Rogien, who has also worked on Bored To Death and The Good Wife, and she admits that this is definitely no Sex and the City wardrobe with Louboutins and Manolo Blahniks scattered throughout their closets. Affordability is key, and Jenn admitted that she *GASP* ACTUALLY stopped by some Brooklyn thrift stores to get the outfits absolutely perfect for their on-screen debut. She said, "If it seems right to go to Saks Fifth Avenue for some of the more special pieces, then that's where we would go. If it seems more right to go to Atlantis Attic out in Williamsburg, we absolutely went out there. We were probably at Atlantis Attic and Beacon's Closet for every episode because it's the right stuff, that's where those girls would go." OMG, they're just like us. :')

What is going on with you, Gossip Girl? It's all kinda CRAY on the Upper East Side as well as in Brooklyn, now that Blair (Leighton Meester) and Dan (Penn Badgley) are criss-crossing boroughs in order to figure out the proper way to debut their love affair. Even the parental unit of Lily (Kelly Rutherford) and Rufus (Matthew Settle) can't figure out whether to keep it posh on the UES or low-key in the "718". All of this flip-flopping leads to dastardly results, obvs. While chilling in Williamsburg, Blair and Dan meet a cross-borough literary hipster couple who inspire them to have a "salon" in Dan's loft as their official coming out party. Sadly, Serena (Blake Lively), Chuck (Ed Westwick), and Nate (Chace Crawford) aren't invited, but they show up anyway to stir up trouble.

Serena's newly found cousin Lola (Ella Rae Peck) goes from temporary It Girl to paranoid gossip monger when she figures out Serena's identity. Yes, Serena is still acting as the de facto Gossip Girl, and Lola tries to rat her out but no one believes her. Meanwhile, gossip high-priestess Diana Payne (Elizabeth Hurley) makes a deal with the real Gossip Girl in order to keep a certain secret involving Chuck Bass under wraps. But oopsies! Lola tapes an intimate convo between Serena and Diana that reveals this mega secret to the entire world (and it's a doozy), but is there more to this story? We think so. Also, did we mention this episode features a famous chef, bowler hats as overhead lighting, and the potential demise of a certain couple? If you haven't caught up yet, we won't spoil the rest for you. Check back here weekly for our fashion recap!

Kristen Stewart

As summer approaches, you should be thinking of one very important element for your warm weather wardrobe: ARMOR. That's right, one of the biggest upcoming blockbusters is Snow White and the Huntsman starring Kristen Stewart as a stronger, more badassier Snow White who dons velvet, wrap-around braids, and—you guessed it—a suit of armor. So, does this mean we're all going to have to invest in chain mail? We thought a bodice of cold, hard steel might be K-Stew's only costume choice from what we've spied in the trailer so far, but thanks to MTV News (holla!) we now have an exclusive behind the scenes look at what went into the costume design for the film straight from the designer herself, Colleen Atwood. Aside from discussing Snow White's costume elements, she talks about Charlize Theron's bone-enhanced wicked queen and reveals how to sword fight in a dress.

Greetings, MTV Stylettes! We can't reiterate enough how glad we are that the mini Gossip Girl hiatus is over. We definitely missed the heavy pour of drama that the young and beautiful Upper East Siders supplied to our drudging week beginnings. Nothing like Internet gossip blasts and opulent parties to break you out of a bad case of the Mondays. This week, Blair (Leighton Meester) is officially a free woman. Unshackled by her marriage to Prince Louis (Hugo Becker), Blair could have run straight into Lonely Boy Dan Humphrey's arms (Penn Badgley), but something seems to be holding her back. She doesn't let on whether it's the association with Brooklyn or maybe some deep-seated feelings for Chuck (Ed Westwick), but knowing Blair it's heavily over-thought.

Bass makes his entrance in a bright red adult onesie and spends the rest of the episode searching for his long-lost mother - she supposedly gave her blood for his life-saving transfusion. Serena (Blake Lively) has assumed the role of Gossip Girl 3.0 and is using her new power to position her new-found cousin Lola (Ella Rae Peck) as the next "It Girl" to take her place in the society pages. Perfect timing, really, because the return of Nate's (Chace Crawford) old flame Diana Payne (Elizabeth Hurley) raises the stakes for sweet little Lola. Everything comes to a head at the Kiki de Montparnasse lingerie fashion show (naturally), but if you haven't caught up yet, we won't spoil the rest for you. Stop the presses (and/or The Spectator) because Gossip Girl is back! We've waited too long to live vicariously through Serena Van Der Woodsen (Blake Lively) and her gang of elites on the Upper East Side. Wait, scratch that. Upper East Side? We mean BROOKLYN. This latest episode finds Lily (Kelly Rutherford) and Rufus (Matthew Settle) living back at chez Humphrey as a result of being kicked out of their chic digs by one Ivy Dickens (Kaylee DeFer), who inherited the place from the now deceased grandmother CeCe (Caroline Lagerfelt). Serena's working overtime at Nate's (Chace Crawford) Spectator gossip news site trying to write the in-depth story of how Ivy stole her cousin Lola's (Ella Rae Peck) identity and her family's fortune. But does the real Gossip Girl make her an offer she can't refuse?

In Blair (Leighton Meester) Land, there's a whole lotta luvvin' NOT going on with new BF LonelyBoy, aka Dan (Penn Badgley). Are they better off just being friends or will an elevator solve their problems? And what about Chuck (Ed Westwick)? Seems Mr. Bass is trying to find out the real person who gave blood to save his life and it's not who he expected. Oh, and Serena's dad, William Van Der Woodsen (Billy Baldwin), is still on the scene, trying to manipulate Ivy and keep the secret of his I'm-your-dad identity from Lola, and we think something mayjah's gonna kick off where that's concerned. Did we mention there was also a party, a blood drive, and a bottle of vodka making a cameo appearance? If you haven't caught up yet, we won't spoil the rest for you. Check back here weekly for our fashion recap!

Daniel Radcliffe

Does Daniel Radcliffe never stop?? It feels like this guy JUST finished promoting the release of his period thriller The Woman In Black. Now, he's already in hair and makeup (and spiffy collegiate wardrobe) for a new project, playing poet Allen Ginsberg in indie film Kill Your Darlings. Charged with portraying one of the founding fathers of the Beat Generation, Daniel Radcliffe underwent a pretty serious style transformation to better fill these roomy oxfords.

Last night's episode of Gossip Girl centers around two high-stakes plot lines: CeCe's (Caroline Lagerfelt) untimely passing and the ever-evolving Blair (Leighton Meester) + Dan (Penn Badgley) + Chuck (Ed Westwick) love triangle. Serena (Blake Lively) attempts to reach out to her new found cousin, Lola (Ella Rae Peck), by convincing Nate (Chace Crawford) to work his pretty boy charms and get her to spend more time with her relatives. First family affair? CeCe's wake, of course! Though the revelation of Ivy Dickens's (Kaylee DeFer) true identity is still fresh with the Rhodes family, she braves CeCe's wake (accompanied by Georgina (Michelle Trachtenberg) in tow) by personal request of the woman herself.

A possible loophole in Blair and Prince Louis of Monaco's (Hugo Becker) ironclad prenup leads to a lot of back-and-forth, hasty moves, and a classic net of Georgina scheming. Serena's dad, William Van Der Woodsen (Billy Baldwin), reemerges with CeCe's will in tow because (SURPRISE!) he's Madame Rhodes's executor. The episode is a suuuuper juicy one (and it better be if we have to wait a whole MONTH until the next ep), so if you haven't caught up yet, we won't spoil the rest for you. We can't think of a better way to top off the long weekend post-Fashion Week than with a brand-new episode of Gossip Girl. Somehow Blair (Leighton Meester) is still in Manhattan despite her binding sham marriage to Prince Louis (Hugo Becker), with B's royal handler a mere footnote this week than an actual presence. The sting from last episode's Georgina (Michelle Trachtenberg) instigated smooch between Dan (Penn Badgley) and Blair is still fresh, and for no two is that more painfully true than Serena (Blake Lively) and Chuck (Ed Westwick). While Serena licks her wounds, Chuck turns to classic scheming to enact his revenge, zeroing in on Lonely Boy and his impending second book deal.

While everyone else on the Upper East Side is nursing their various heartaches, Nate (Chace Crawford) is pursuing a blossoming relationship of his own with the real Charlie Rhodes (Ella Rae Peck) aka Lola. But after her run-in with that otherCharlie (Kaylee DeFer), she's starting to feel a little uneasy about the world she's venturing into. The Charlie vs. Charlie drama continues to mount as the girls become frighteningly more aware of each other, but if you haven't caught up yet, we won't spoil the rest for you.
