Adam Levine's Nylon Guys cover.
Adam Levine is your textbook hunk. Rakish and charming, with enough tattoos to certainly qualify as a bad boy, the Maroon 5 front man has everything a girl is looking for in a bad idea. Did we mention that he can now add actor to his already impressive resume? Oh, and he looks really good in a white t-shirt. All of these reasons and then some landed Levine the May cover of Nylon Guys, and frankly it's a little hard to stop staring. Looking straight into the camera with an inscrutable look on his scruffy face, Levine poses in his signature white long sleeved henley and a pair of army green pants, his tiger tattoo prominent right below the cover line. In the accompanying interview, the singer and The Voice judge drops enough f-bombs to make a good girl blush, but he also proves himself to be pragmatic and actually kind of down to earth. When asked about rumors that Shakira makes more money than him, Levine emphatically replies, “She’s Shakira dude! She’s a f****** international superstar! I don’t care. It’s just money.” Levine has sold over 17 million records, so...pot calling international superstar black much, no? We can't lie, we're still pretty charmed, though.
OK, so this just has to be said: when we laid eyes on Zac Efron's new Flaunt magazine cover, the first sounds out of our mouths WERE NOT ENGLISH. They weren't even words! It was more like, "Ohhahhhooowhat?" and it took everyone in the office a full five minutes to recover from this little episode. We're telling you this slightly embarrassing recollection because a.) it's true and b). it's proof that Zac, with his 5 o'clock shadow, his groomed (but not too groomed) coif, and his baby blue eyes gazing dreamily off the page, STILL possesses an inexplicable magic power over us. No matter how old you are, no matter how awkward you might feel, there's no denying it. Embrace the hotness that is Zac Efron! After all, it's really nothing new. But whereas most recently we saw the actor put his glistening muscles on display in John John Denim's campaign, for the April issue of Flaunt he does a complete 180 and shows his softer side.
Chanel Iman on the cover of Galore.
Photo: Ellen Von Unwerth/Galore
One could argue that every issue of Galore mag is one about women who rock, since their subjects are always so bonkers amazing, but their Spring 2013 glossy certainly ups the ante in that department. Featuring interviews with a grip of awesome ladies, including Kate Nash, Andrej Pejic, and Brooke Candy, and a slightly racy cover shoot featuring Chanel Iman, it has spring fever written all over it. Shot by Ellen Von Unwerth, Chanel poses in a silver, deep v-necked bodysuit and mirrored gold pumps, silver sunglasses pushed girlishly up on her head, eyes looking straight into the camera, like she's contemplating whether or not to eat you alive. The vibe is a little bit Boogie Nights, a little bit '70s, and extremely opulent, and it's really working for us.
For Nicki Minaj's latest display of "realness," she's rolled up to an undisclosed Pavilions in order to a pay a little visit to...herself! Nicki hit up the California supermarket to see her Elle magazine cover IRL. An occasion like this begs to be documented, and naturally, Miss Minaj not only snapped pictures of her grocery store expedition, she posted them to Twitter. Accompanied by the caption, "#SupermarketRealness #LeftmyHelmetOnRealness #vrrrrrooooommmm," the double-shot of Nicki showcases the MC's Elle makeunder preserved in plastic and her posing beside it in a cherry-and-florals motif motorcycle helmet. *holds a beat* Wait, what??
Beyonce's Shape magazine cover has been around for over 24 hours now (which is an instant in real time but an ETERNITY in Internet time), but we were too busy splashing around in the release of brand-spanking new Bey music "Bow Down/I Been On" that we had to queue up our King Bey news. We're only human, guys—we can only fully absorb one thing at a time. Not only is Mrs. Carter serving summer-ready beach-bod in color-blocked swimwear (with sleeves!), she is WERQUING the no-makeup makeup look and full, windswept curls. She looks fresh, fit, and totally natural, and having endured a little more March snow in NYC last night (SERIOUSLY, WEATHER??), we're coveting all of the things about this photo and the rest of the cover shoot which follows in the mag's inside pages. Well, almost all of the things. There's just one aspect of this look that we have to wait a beat for: Beyonce's 2013 dangly belly ring.
Hayley Williams in NYLON's April 2013 issue

You know that sparkly feeling that you get when the stars align, Mercury is FINALLY out of retrograde (um, it's about time), and things just feel right? Yep, it's basically a collision of awesomeness, and that's exactly what happened this afternoon when we got word that Hayley Williams is NYLON magazine's new cover girl. Talk about perfect timing! The Paramore singer fronts the publication's April anniversary issue, which not-so-coincidentally happens to be when the band's fourth album drops (and Hayley's orange MAC collection debuts). Needless to say, this will be a BIG month for Paramore and fans alike, and honestly, we can't really think of a better way to get psyched up.
Nicki Minaj in Tom Ford on the cover of Elle.

It's wild that seeing an incredibly recognizable, super famous woman without makeup could be described as anything close to shocking, but we have to admit, it sometimes is. We're used to seeing Nicki Minaj done up with the bright pink lipstick, full lashes and flawless hair. Sure, she's been simplifying her style in the new year, but it's still nothing close to the no-makeup look she's rocking on the April cover of Elle. With her long blonde hair loose, damp and wavy and not a single dab of color anywhere on her face, Nicki looks like she could have just (flawlessly) gotten out of the shower. Photographed by Thomas Whiteside and (of course) styled by Joe Zee, Nicki is wearing a Tom Ford leather jacket on the cover, and very little else, save for a pair of American Apparel leggings.
Taylor Swift and her stylist Joseph Cassell on the cover of 'The Hollywood Reporter.'

If there's one thing we've learned here at MTV Style, it's that for every celebrity or musician we peep on the red carpet, there's an insanely talented stylist behind them. And you know what? The job ain't easy! They have the pressure of creating iconic looks time and time again, which can make (or break!) a person's entire career. It's time to finally get to know the names behind the oh-so-famous faces, so The Hollywood Reporter put together a list of the top 25 most powerful stylists in Hollywood. And, yay, some of our old faves (Johnny Wujek! Brad Goreski! Rachel Zoe!) managed to make the cut!
Aubrey Plaza for 'Complex.'
Photo: Via 'Complex'
The last time we spotted Aubrey Plaza on a magazine cover, she was snuggling up to a cat on the front page of Bust. Now she's posing with another prop for the April/May issue of Complex, but instead of a cuddly animal the actress is double fisting two cans of silly string?! Yep, our favorite Parks and Rec star is showing her funny side yet again for the mag, dressed in a simple pink romper and adorned with some, um, festive accessories (if you can even call silly string that...?). She also shows her stuff inside the feature posing with a bear mask, banana peels, AND a Whoopie Cushion, all while still managing to squeeze in some impressive smize action. Hey Tyra, better watch your back!
Zooey Deschanel for 'InStyle.'

From princess frocks to Old Hollywood beauty to a consistently on-point nail art game, Zooey Deschanel KNOWS what works for her. The actress just gets it, and she's repping her signature girly sensibility on the cover of the annual April "Color" issue of InStyle, looking radiant in a bright red dress embellished with a giant back bow. Paired with almost no jewelry (save for a couple of rings) and a fresh-faced makeup look that causes her blue eyes practically pop right off the page, this gorgeous photo is a lesson in effortless glam that we can ALL use. But her cover look isn't the only thing we learned from the issue, which hits newsstands Friday. Inside, the actress dished on her personal style philosophy, stating that “Style isn’t when you buy yourself the most expensive things. It’s being creative and able to put together what you’ve collected.” Well said, Zooey. Noted!
