We literally high-fived in the MTV Style office when we found out that Teen Vogue's May cover girl was Katy Perry. We think she's the perfect gal to grace the pages of a young, fash-forward mag because she's always taking fun style risks while keeping her confidence in check. In one of our favorite images from the spread (seriously, this could be an ad campaign!), Katy channels her inner vintage vixen in a black and white polka dot Oscar de la Renta dress and black heels. She also sported a birdcage Victoria Grant headpiece over her twisted back bright blue 'do (which matches her nails!) for a throwback feel we're seriously loving. Katy's modern-meets-pinup style is definitely reflected in her fashion icons. She told Teen Vogue, "I love Agyness Deyn, Chloë Sevigny, Daphne Guinness, Natalie Wood, Judy Jetson, and Wonder Woman." She continued, "I'm still doing the pinup thing, but now when I do it, I want to be the pinup of the future, like Rachael in Blade Runner. But I've always been quirky—it probably started when I was nine years old, and my father used to wake me up at seven every Saturday morning to take me to garage sales. I couldn't afford the clothes that the other girls at school were wearing, so instead I looked for things that were unique to me." Ahhh, now it's all starting to make sense!
