Lana Del Rey Numero Tokyo

If there's one thing we love about Lana Del Rey, it's her ability to channel that badass "gangster Nancy Sinatra" look into every magazine shoot she does. Case and point: Her latest cover with Numero Tokyo. The March 2013 issue, photographed by Mariano Vivanco and styled by Miranda Almond, shows Lana transformed into an oh-so-sultry '60s-era Snow White with a giant red bow on her head and "poisoned" red apple in tow. Her beauty game knocked it out of the PARK—she sported an exaggerated cat eye (with liner on both the top and bottom lid), strong brows, light pink lips, and super dark bronzer to define her cheekbones. She left her long, brown hair down in soft waves, which gives her an ethereal, Disney princess feel. LOVE.

Rihanna, Terry Richardson

Time to put on your detective hats, guys! According to Instagram, Rihanna hit up Terry Richardson's California studio yesterday. Terry, wearing his classic plaid and aviator frame spectacles, assumed his hallmark thumbs-up pose beside a leaning tower of fierce. Pop music's Barbadian bad gal of the moment was clad in a teeny black bralette, high-waisted cut-off shorts with printed pockets peeking out, a leather-sleeved, oversized, camouflage jacket, solid black wayfarers, and a black Polo bucket hat. Yes, the year is 2013, and Rihanna is wearing a bucket hat. Take notes. Aside from Ri's adventurous headgear choices, though, we want to enlist you on a quest to figure out what new project these two were shooting together!

Selena Gomez

Give it up for Nylon magazine with the drop-dead cool girl Selena Gomez cover snap. Also, for the precise cover line. Judging from the Spring Breakers trailer that dropped this morning, "drops the princess act" is right! In the trailer and on this cover, Sel channels her inner bad girl. Nylon styles the girl who once was Alex Russo in a woven black flat brim hat, the light blue basket weave jersey from Jeremy Scott's Spring/Summer 2013 collection for adidas Originals, and an itsy bitsy string bikini underneath, and WOWOWOW this is a look we could get used to.

Lena Dunham on the February issue of 'Interview'/ Allison Williams on the February cover of 'Company.'
Photo: via 'Interview' and 'Company' magazines.

Hannah wears thrifted dresses. Marnie goes for Jackie-O shifts. Hannah's messy. Marnie's painfully neat. Let's cut to the chase here, shall we? If you watch Girls, then you know that Lena Dunham and Allison Williamss characters are about as opposite as they come. It's these undeniable differences that drove them apart as roommates at the end of last season, and- spoiler alert!- are already coming into play in season two. But while all the onscreen drama's clearly fiction, the co-stars continue to work completely opposite looks on a pair of February covers (coincidence?). Lena takes a retro turn in stripped-down mod for Interview magazine, framed in a black and white portrait by Gregory Harris. With her pixie crop, accentuated lashes, and statement eyeliner, the muse for the shoot is obvious (here's a hint...).

Rooney Mara Vogue

Rooney Mara covers the February 2013 issue of 'Vogue'.
Photo:David Sims/Vogue

Although she might be a full-fledged movie star these days (and capable of kicking some major bad guy butt), Rooney Mara has always remained mysterious off the big screen, dodging the paparazzi and avoiding the Hollywood publicity machine. Luckily for the rest of us, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo actress and star of the upcoming thriller Side Effects takes a rare plunge into the spotlight on the cover of February's Vogue. This marks her sophomore cover of the fashion magazine— she first graced the glossy back in 2011. But while her prior appearance was dark and edgy, this time the creative crew went with a softer approach, dressing the actress in a red lace frock and a pretty, barefaced beauty look. Bottom line: this girl is VERSATILE, and there's going to be a lot more where that came from when she co-hosts the punk rock-themed Met Gala with Givenchy's Riccardo Tisci this spring....

Rihanna Complex

To say that Rihanna is the master of Instagram selfies is nothing new. I mean, her feed is littered with perfectly-lit self portraits, and in the February/March issue of Complex magazine, she totally owns up to it. "It's narcissistic, but whatever—everyone does it. I’m capturing personality... Everybody has their thing they like or don't like to see. It’s all in your head. That's why people take their own pictures, because it’s difficult for someone else to capture what you seek." Complex took this theme and really (really!) ran with it for their latest issue—they released not one, not two, but SEVEN COVERS with Rihanna sporting a completely different outfit in each. They also let RiRi have her own way with a Polaroid and published some seriously revealing selfies, which, um, are sorta NSFW. All looks were outfitted by stylist Mel Ottenberg and photographed by Zoe McConnell, and in one of our favorite cover shots (above), Rihanna wore camo print bra top, Chanel suspenders, oversized black trousers, large Chanel hoop earrings, and a bow-tied bandana.

Beyonce

Beyonce for "GQ" magazine.

Talk about a week of surprises! We thought the GQ editors were going to hold off on releasing Beyonce's full February 2013 interview and photo shoot until next week after an unfortunate leak caused them to push Bey's jaw-dropping cover last yesterday afternoon. BUT lo and behold BeyHive, here it all is in all its underwear-clad, Terry Richardson-shot, booty-tooching, cut-off cotton tee glory, ready for widespread Internet consumption!

Beyonce

This post is intended to be about how it feels to finally set eyes on Beyonce's official GQ magazine cover, but if I could just leave the body of this thing an incomprehensible string of letters and numbers and punctuation marks, believe me, I would. Because, for me, MTV Style's resident BeyHive STAN, that's exactly how this moment feels. Not to blow a cover reveal totally and completely out of proportion (though that's essentially what I'm doing), but it's just hard to accurately explain how it feels to be taunted with the leaked visage of your favorite artist on the cover of a new magazine issue (her first in what feels like forever) and not know whether it's real or not.

Emma Watson for February's 'Marie Claire' UK
Photo: via Marie Claire UK

There's absolutely no question that Emma Watson is versatile. After all, the actress has shown her range playing a Gryffindor muggle in Harry Potter, a sensitive high school dream girl in The Perks of Being a Wallflower, and a troubled L.A. teen burglar in the upcoming Sofia Coppola flick The Bling Ring. But whereas we're used to seeing different incarnations of the 22-year-old onscreen, now she's flexing her multifaceted fashion chops as well. Emma graces the February cover of Marie Claire UK dressed in ripped black shorts and a tailored sequined IRO moto jacket (which, coicidentally, is the same one Taylor Swift wore on New Year's Eve.) It might be biker-inspired, but complemented with red lipstick, bold brows, and her trademark cropped coif, the look is ANYTHING but Hell's Angels.

Emma Stone

Photo: Glamour UK/Glamour

I think it's pretty safe to say that Emma Stone is one of the most universally loved young actresses in the game right now. She's beautiful, talented, sartorially adventurous, and hilariously adorably down-to-earth. With a volatile combination like that, it's no wonder the magazines of the world are all clamoring to feature her in their pages and on their covers, and in turn, people are nabbing up issues fronted by the Gangster Squad star left and right. Miss Stone has racked up another international glossy cover for her CV this month with Glamour UK featuring her as their February 2013 cover girl. Thing thing is, though, being avid watchers of her every move, we totally recognize this cover shot, and it's from — wait for it — almost two years ago.
