MTV just confirmed that Florence + The Machine are set to perform at this year's Video Music Awards — after racking up four nominations! — and we couldn't be more excited. Not only is this band's music get-out-of-bed good (so helpful in the morning, by the way), we also think it's about time lead singer Florence Welch got her chance to step into the fashion spotlight. The singer is a style star that is underplayed, and we're ready to play her up. She's worn bright, eclectic pieces in her music videos, and trust us, her real-life sartorial choices are just as fantastic. But you must see for yourself.

Aside from Katy Perry's adorable accessories, we also had another favorite look from her Teen Choice Awards hosting gig — her strapless blue-and-green striped dress by Giorgio Armani. The dress is from the designer's spring ready-to-wear collection, and we're loving how wonderfully the stripes flatter her figure, when usually they chop up the body awkwardly. She styled the outfit a little different than the runway look, too, as she skipped the extra skirt around the hips. Which, from our experience with Eva Mendes' hip padding, was a good choice on Katy's part.

Katy Perry wore a bunch of costumes when she hosted the Teen Choice Awards this week. But those were COSTUMES. Her accessories, however, were totally fun, funky, and wearable! On her left wrist, she wore a chunky silver bracelet with gold cone studs by Etro, which costs $577. On her right wrist, she wore another standout piece — a cuff with a major aqua-colored stone in the middle by Samantha Wills — which costs $258. Which bracelet do you like better?
Did you see Sandra Bullock bump and grind with Betty White at the Teen Choice Awards? Well, she did! And she boogied in some shiny pants. The jeans are the 912 Waxed Venom Skinny Jeans by J Brand (a brand that's also a favorite of Taylor Lautner). They're available for $198 at NeimanMarcus.com. Get those legs shiny!

Lipstick is the new place to get crazy with color (nope, it's not just nails, anymore!). Just take a look at the latest trend in lip color — rainbow brights. Back in May, singer VV Brown showed up to the 30th anniversary party for Express with green lips, and Ke$ha painted her pout bright blue at Casio's Shock the World event last week. So, how do you get your lips to look like you just had an insane makeout session with a smurf?

The 2010 Video Music Awards are still over a month away (September 12, mark your calendar!), which means we're getting fun little teasers now, like new images from Nicki Minaj's promo shoot. Judging from her fifties-inspire outfits, we're already excited for the style that's going to come from that night's show. Think Old Hollywood glamour with a twist of sexy, spandex, and wigs.

Zoe Kravitz with Alexander Wang and MIA in May.

Zoe Kravitz's modeling career continues! After she starred as the face of Vera Wang's Princess fragrance last year, she's posing for another designer Wang — Alexander Wang!
Today, WWD reported that Alexander Wang hired the 21-year-old actress (and spawn of Lisa Bonet and Lenny Kravitz) to appear in his fall ad campaign for his lower-priced line T by Alexander Wang. She'll star alongside handsome male model Max Motta, who previously modeled for Tommy Hilfiger, Dior Homme, and Tom Ford.
Not that we didn’t see this pairing coming. After all, the designer brought her as his guest to the Costume Institute Gala in New York in May (along with M.I.A., see right). Plus, she's a true fan of the designer, as she's had his leopard-print Diego bucket bag glued to her side this summer — and it’s been one of our favorite looks for the season.
Maybe she's his new muse? Perhaps. In any case, the Zoe photos won’t drop until Thursday, which means this week just got THAT MUCH LONGER for us.
Taylor Jacobson landed on the fashion scene as the sassy, impeccably-dressed, no-nonsense stylist assistant from Bravo’s The Rachel Zoe Project. But after four years of working with celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe (and dressing celebs like Demi Moore and Molly Sims), two seasons of reality television, and one buzzed-about breakup with her former boss, the Los Angeles-based Taylor is making her own way, styling on a number of movies and commercials and working with a host of private clients. Now, she’s also trying her hand at design, collaborating with Kasil to create a line of jeans, which are now available in stores like Bloomingdale’s, Ron Herman, and online at Kasil Workshop for $119 to $195. Last night, we talked to Taylor to get her take on denim, California-girl style, and back-to-school fashion. Oh, and did she watch this week’s third season premiere of her ex-boss’s Bravo show? Avon party on August 4, BET Awards on June 27.

Fergie is a flapper! At least, she like flaps on her dresses, particularly in the hip area. Last night, at the launch party for her Avon Outspoken fragrance in Newark, New Jersey, she wore a black dress with ochre panels on both sides of her body. Typically, these are amazing slimming colors when worn together, except the light-hued ruffles that draped down the front of her hips and over her rump counterbalanced the whole optical illusion effect. And she's done this before. At the BET Awards in June, Fergie wore a black and white paneled dress with a tailcoat down the back by Antonio Berardi. Are you as puzzled as we are by her obsession with these extra-material dresses? Especially, when she looks so amazing minus the hip/butt flaps, like in something like this.
+ Do you like her extra-emphasized assets? Or should she drop the flaps?
The costume retailer Costume Craze is launching a collection of Lady Gaga-inspired costumes that are set to drop in time for Halloween (less than three months away!), and images of the line just dropped. So, we browsed through the looks, and the clothes don't just mimic the superstar, they are EXACT interpretations of her outfits, such as the American Flag two-piece from 'Telephone,' and her white outfit from the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards (which is our favorite, for obvious reasons). But, WAIT, isn't the best part about dressing up like Lady Gaga is that her little monsters make their own costumes? You tell us.
+ Would you wear one of these Lady Gaga costumes?
