Lady Gaga

Nothing says the holidays like LADY GAGA. Our Lady of all things Gaga-loony and Gaga-licious is doing her best to make this Turkey Day week—as well as the upcoming holiday season—as Gaga-tastic as possible. (You can add GAGA to just about anything and it sounds more interesting. Gaga-gravy. Gaga-coozie. Gaga-pie. Try it!) To kick off a week of events that includes Our Lady's television special, A Very Gaga Thanksgiving, which she both conceived and directed, the style icon opened Gaga's Workshop at Barneys New York last night. As you little monsters probably already know, the store is chock-full of signature items dreamt up or inspired by the Lady herself. We're talking everything from her Lady Gaga X Terry Richardson book (NOW ON SALE!) to fingerless gloves and Gaga-cookies (told you it works). We knew she'd be wearing something that would take us to the edge of glory—this being a major holiday event and all—but we didn't expect her to emerge from the monster façade outside the Barneys building in full-on Antebellum-style Chanel Haute Couture. Um, fainting couch, please!

Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, and Kaylee Defer help "Gossip Girl" celebrate 100 episodes.
Photo: Getty Images/WireImage

Can you believe that Gossip Girl is already celebrating 100 episodes? It seems like just yesterday we were tuning in to the relatively newly renamed CW network to give this cast of unknowns (*achem* extremely good-looking and well-dressed unknowns) a chance. It wasn't long before Blake Lively's Serena van der Woodsen and Leighton Meester's Blair Waldorf and the rest of the Upper East Side's young elite had captured our hearts, attention, and Wednesday nights. Since then, the series has experienced cameos, character appearances and banishments, and more formal parties than you can shake a stick at. The series has become a hot bed for contemporary fashion and as the years have gone on, stylistas have tuned in at growing numbers, like moths to a flame. Naturally, a celebration of the storied fash-forward show would, of course, yield a gang of exquisitely wardrobed attendees.

Katy Perry

If there's anyone who's become a style-slaying red carpet mainstay, it's Katy Perry. She ALWAYS kicks it out full-throttle in multiple outfits that always make us both gasp and smile. Also? She doesn't care about showing off her teeth in photos (LOVE). At this year's American Music Awards, Miss Purrrrrry dazzled in a trifecta of bright pink hair-topped looks that conjured up everything from a retro pinup to a Judy Jetson folk singer. Y'all, the looks were high-class BANANAS (like, the pricey organic variety), and they were accessorized in the prettiest of retro-glam 1940s hairstyles. Not to play favorites or anything, but Katy P rocks her décolletage like nobody's biz. Let's break this frothy strawberry milkshake action down, shall we?

Justin Bieber

You probably noticed it yourself, but we're going to officially give Justin Bieber's THREE different outfits AND hairstyles he sported up and down last night's 2011 American Music Awards their propers. It seems the secret to staying relevant in the world of pop music is to be in a constant state of metamorphosis. We've seen it a gazillion times—superstar artists like Madonna, Michael Jackson, and Britney Spears shape-shifting and reinventing with each new album, single, performance. As more and more budding musicians are wising up to the tried-and-true success mantra, the stakes grow higher—artists are trying to roll out a new look between every time you blink your eyes. Though recently this is a job that's been dominated by the ladies (HAYYY, Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, and Lady Gaga), the Biebs is carving out a place for himself among the other chameleons with three compleeeetely different looks in one awards show.

Nicki Minaj

This year's American Music Awards were all about amped up GLAMour, and if there was one artiste who brought the fashion both to the stage and the red carpet it was multiple AMA awards winner Nicki Minaj. Miss "Super Bass" opened the awards show with a mega mix of that very song, which began with "Turn Me On" and saw her emerge from the darkness as a sort of android princess to, literally, turn herself "on" in Small Wonder fashion by plugging a cord into a socket attached to her stomach. Not only did her pink tendrils seem electrified, so did her, ahem, bootay, which displayed speakers on each cheek—not to be outdone by the volume dials on her lady bazooms, of course—and the entire outfit seemed to suggest that Nicki M was, in actuality, SUPER BASS. She danced around the stage easily in silver high-top sneakers that matched the silver body suit and panels over her jeans. Oh, and her microphone? PINK, obvs, most likely in homage to her Best Rap/Hip-Hop winning album, Pink Friday.

We look forward to each year's American Music Awards as a place where breath-taking and outrageous fashions mix, mingle, and outright COLLIDE, and tonight's show was no disappointment. From the bubblegum pink-ness of Katy Perry to the many outfit changes of Justin Bieber, stars turned it OUT in both their flashiest and finest. With so many ladies and gents bringing their fashion A-game, repping so many styles, it's never easy to pick just one favorite, so we picked our top TEN looks of the night.

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift cleaned UP tonight, raking in an armful of awards including the top honor, Artist of the Year. She also looked drop-dead and way mature, might we add, in this champagne-colored Reem Acra column gown. True to Swift's signature style, it was decked out in sequins.

Holy old Hollywood glamour! Did Selieber turn it out on the 2011 American Music Awards red carpet or WHAT? I mean, really. Forget everything you've ever known or thought about Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber and tell me that they are not simultaneously the most adorable and exquisitely dressed young couple you've ever set eyes on. The moment they stepped out of whatever luxurious vehicle transported them to the AMAs (listen, people, I'm supposed to know about the clothes, not the cars) alarms sounded and texting/tweeting/blogging fingers were flaying everywhere to tell someone, anyone, EVERYONE about Selieber's amazeballs Gatsby-esque ensembles.

Jennifer Lopez and Britney Spears

It's the performance that broke the Internet. Jennifer Lopez took to the 2011 American Music Awards stage for a show-stopping set which included two on-stage wardrobe changes, a staircase of shirtless man-candy, and a baubled dancing cane. To say the very least, our minds were blown. J.Lo went HAM, bodying the entire audience with an inspired dance routine. #flygirls4eva! She opened in a gauzy, leopard print cape-slash-gown from Giambattista Valli's 2011 fall/winter collection, with slow dramatic movements that reminded us a little of Florence and the Machine. A swift sleight of hand trick, and she was transformed into the glamazon Jenny from the block that we know and love, clad in GOBS of glittering fringe that caught so much dazzling light and movement. AND THEN, that came off to reveal a nude bodysuit decked out and bedazzled with so many strategically placed crystals. But it wasn't just J.Lo's rousing performance that had everyone abuzz. Watching Jennifer go hard in all that nude sparkly goodness couldn't help but conjure up memories of Britney Spears's iconic outfit on stage at the 2000 VMAs.

OMG, it's officially that time of the year again! The American Music Awards are back and, if it's anything like last year, it's going to be a fun, fashion-y night filled with KILLER red carpet ensembles. We've already peeped (OK, memorized) the performers list, and *gasp* Nicki Minaj is OPENING THE SHOW. We can't wait to see what kind of uh-mazing performance outfits Katy Perry and Justin Bieber will wear tonight, but the biggest question lingering in the back of our minds is—what will Nicki Minaj turn up in this time?! We'll know this and more in mere hours but until then we're keeping our eyes locked on the AMA red carpet live stream that starts at 5 PM EST. Don't forget to keep checking back here for red carpet photos that we'll be continually updating throughout the night, as well as our favorite ensembles from the event, and SCADS more fashion x music goodness.

Katy Perry Cowboy Birthday Party

So, Katy Perry threw a birthday party, and in TRUE Katy fashion, she went ALL. OUT. Even though her actual birthday was in late October (the 25th to be exact!), she continued the celebration by throwing a "Wild West Ho Down Throwdown" themed fete and invited allll of her cute-to-boot friends. I mean, we're not really THAT into theme parties, but when we were perusing through Mark The Cobrasnake's photos, we began to SERIOUSLY rethink every Cowboys and Indians college party we were invited to—our outfit could've been so much cuter. Just look at Katy! She wore a head-to-toe pink, black, and white outfit straight from Jeremy Scott's spring 2012 collection, and (as you'll see in the last photo) she even got a customized studded vest that says "Bday Gal" on the back! Adorable. Jeremy also showed up to the shindig wearing a pink and green fringe vest from his spring 2012 collection, and, um, some very revealing chaps. (Scroll down for the money shot.) Katy and Jeremy are obviously besties, and there's nothing we love more than seeing one of our favorite artists and designers collab for an all-out adorable ensemble. Other highlights from the party include: Robyn dressed up as a cactus (yes, THAT Robyn), Russell Brand as a shirtless Indian, and Katy Perry shooting another cowboy with her pink rhinestone gun. Uh-mazing. Peep TONS of photos below!!!
