Karlie Kloss at The Novak Djokovic Foundation Inaugural Dinner.

What with baking her signature cookies, prepping for her new House of Style gig, and ya know, absolutely killing it on the runway, Karlie Kloss undoubtedly has crammed enough activities into Fashion Week to make ANYONE exhausted. But while we're personally counting down the minutes til our much-needed post-NYFW nap, for Karlie it's a different story. Last night the supermodel added another activity into her packed agenda, lending her name to a seriously good cause. She attended a dinner for The Novak Djokovic Foundation, an organization established by tennis star Novak Djokovic that helps underprivileged children in his home country of Serbia. Karlie proved her special guest status for the eve in an intricately embellished v-neck gown from Carolina Herrera, simple black pumps, and black envelope clutch. With swept up hair and natural makeup (save for a swipe of liner), this is effortless perfection if we ever saw it. Who says fashion has to be dramatic?! She wasn't the only one working a sleek, relatively minimal look last night. Theophilus London proved you could look white-hot even AFTER Labor Day in crisp, clean separates.

High fashion and punk rock might seem like they're from opposite ends of the style universe (after all, just try and picture Anna Wintour with a mohawk...crazy, right?!). But hold on to your biker jacket-- because the two are about to collide in what's guaranteed to be an epic explosion of music and clothing. Ripped tops, safety pins, and black, black, and MORE black are prepping to invade New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art this spring with the new exhibit “Punk: Chaos to Couture.” The upcoming show is the latest of the Costume Institute's amazing eye-boggling exhibitions, hot on the heel's of this year's unforgettable "Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations." But whereas 2012 was all about the overarching similarities between quirky designers Elsa Schiaparelli and Miuccia Prada, expect next year to be a liiiittle bit different. And by different, we mean LOUD. Kicking off with the origins of movement and punk's influence on fashion over the past 30 years, prepare for a whirlwind trip hitting hotspots like London, New York, and spotlighting all the cool kids in between.

Lady Gaga's meat dress from the 2010 VMAs is now available to see (not smell, fortunately) in a new exhibit.
Photo: Getty

First things first: we wouldn't recommend thinking too hard about some of the details of what we're about to talk about if you're planning on eating anytime soon. Ok, public service announcement over with...do you wanna see Lady Gaga's meat dress in the flesh (how could we resist)? We know that we've been curious as to what happened to the famous piece of sartorial charcuterie since Mama Monster wore it to the 2010 VMAs. Did it get thrown out? Frozen? Did someone eat it? Turns out the answer is none of the above--the dress and matching boots were preserved (turned into jerky, we think) and painted to maintain the original color and are now on display at Washington D.C.'s National Museum of Women in the Arts. Part of an exhibit called "Women Who Rock: Vision, Passion, and Power" from the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, is in Washington until January 6th, when it continues its tour through Omaha, Seattle, and Phoenix.

Nikki Reed Ariel Winter Sophia Bush

Hey, we know it's hard to dress your best in August—the humidity is at its peak of grossness and it feels like you've worn all your light, breezy dresses to death, but Nikki Reed, Ariel Winter and Sophia Bush proved that they can still look hot (heh) even in the most sweat-inducing weather. Last night at InStyle's Summer Soiree, all three ladies took a glam approach to the typical summer dress. In fact, they looked SO garden party chic, we could barely handle it! Twilight star Nikki Reed sported a demure floral Jill Stuart frock with T-strap heels and a burgundy clutch. She kept her hair and makeup minimal with just a touch of sheer pink gloss on her lips and no-nonsense beachy waves.

Kristen Stewart at Comic Con.

Chalk it up to her Balenciaga duties and the Snow White and the Huntsman press, but Kristen Stewart has been in high fashion mode all summer long- modeling in designer campaigns, working everything from harnesses to sheer gowns on the red carpet, and fronting no fewer than FOUR glossy covers this season. The actress looks great glammed up (clearly) but all it takes is one glance at her low key outfit yesterday at Comic Con to see that K. Stew is clearly back in her casual-cool element...and she's loving it.

It was hard to get a good look at Tavi Gevinson and Iris Apfel through the hoard of admirers that swarmed them after their talk at The Met.
Photo: Maud Deitch

"Personal style is curiosity about yourself," was the motto at Sunday's "Good Taste/Bad Taste: The Evolution of Contemporary Chic" discussion at the Costume Institute at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Fashion icon Iris Apfel was the first to use the quote, but once it had been said it was like the other participants, Rookie Mag's Tavi Gevinson and The New Yorker's Judith Thurman, couldn't help but keep coming back to it. It was fascinating to watch these two women- the 16 year old website editor and the 90 year old style star- going back and forth about what it means to be stylish, what it means to put together an outfit, and what the roll of clothing can and should play in a woman's life. While Tavi likens good fashion to good performance art, Iris insists that clothing should fit well, be practical, and not create too many barriers between a person and the world. Apfel was insistent that "clothing shouldn't be the most important part of your life," and both women admitted that when they're at home working, they change into more comfy garb. "The second I get home from school at 3 PM I put on Pajamas," Tavi said, and laughed, maybe a little bashful. Apfel agreed, saying that she can only work when she's in blue jeans.

Okay, so according to the calendar, summer doesn't officially start until June 20th this year. But we're not playing by those rules, because our minds are already in vacation zone...and so are our closets. We're not the only ones trading wintry wares for breezy light-colored pieces, because three of our favorite leading ladies recently stepped out at the Young Hollwood Awards in their own variations of seasonal staples. Hailee Steinfeld led the pack in a Prabal Gurung silver pantsuit with a floral applique embellished front. It's a bold choice for the teenager (she's only 15!), but let's be honest here: the Romeo and Juliet actress has already proven her high-fashion cred in last year's Miu Miu's ad campaign, so if ANYONE can pull off the statement look, it's Hailee. Prabal's sleeveless top and bootleg pants might be hot off the Fall 2012 runway, but on the fresh-faced starlet, the entire outfit just screams summer.

Tavi Gevinson, Iris Apfel

Good style doesn't have an age requirement- or an age limit, for that matter- and here's proof: two of the coolest minds in the biz, Rookie Mag's Tavi Gevinson and fashion icon Iris Apfel, will hold a discussion this weekend at New York's Metropolitan Museum titled “Good
Taste/Bad Taste: The Evolution of Contemporary Chic."
Could there BE a more perfect topic for these two to hash out? We definitely don't think so. Even though she's only 15, Tavi's been in the fashion industry for what seems like forever, ever since starting her blog The Style Rookie at age 11. And although she's focusing more of her attention on her new online magazine (and high school, NBD), the Illinois teenager has still been busy making her voice heard online and in person, whether it's appearing in fashion films, starring in Uniqlo ads, or popping up at Fashion Week. Despite her 70-plus year age difference with Iris, this odd couple has more in common than you'd think.

The real purpose of The CW's Upfront Presentation, held today in Los Angeles, is to give industry insiders the scoop on what's coming to their televisions next fall. But for small screen stars like Kristin Kreuk, Rachel Bilson, and Nina Dobrev, the event was their chance to shine-literally- in gorgeous champagne dresses. Former Smallville actress Kreuk, who returns to the channel next season in the new adaptation of Beauty and the Beast, shimmered in a sequined tee and a floral print skirt. Despite the glittery top, she managed to keep the rest of the outfit's low-key girly vibe with nude peep-toe pumps, a statement gold bangle, and classic wavy hair. The whole look is very "J.Crew catalogue goes Hollywood," and we totally love it.

Colton Haynes Holland Roden

First off, OMG TEEN WOLF IS BACK FOR A SECOND SEASON. *pants* We are more than thrilled to see Colton Haynes and Holland Roden's adorable little faces back on the small screen, and even MORE excited to see them out and about, flashing their fashion-y selves all around town. Last night at Nylon Magazine's Young Hollywood Party, the Teen Wolf twosome sported killer colorblock ensembles that we need to discuss. Colton wore an azure blue blazer, matching blue shirt, and black trousers—and not only did Colton colorblock his outfit, but his shoes too! These lace-up oxfords have a swipe of gray at the toe, and we love that.
