If Dolce & Gabbana had collaborated with "Ecce Homo" (a.k.a. "Beast Jesus") artist Cecilia Giménez.

There are two things in life that I've come to know to be true: I will always want to blow all of the rent money on Dolce & Gabbana, and I will always think the Beast Jesus meme is funny. Sure, D&G hit a bit of a rough patch (okay, a giant, festering ocean of backlash) with their Spring/Summer 2013 accessories, but this Fall/Winter 2013 collection is so beautiful in its attention to detail and exemplary embellishment work that I can't ignore it.
As far as Beast Jesus, I'm well-aware that this meme dropped off months ago (the last thing we heard was in December when the world's most infamous [also, worst] restoration artist Cecilia Giménez was actually making a killing off her own original artwork on eBay). HOWEVER, I will never NOT bust up laughing thinking about the cojones this lady had to have to not only follow-through on this wretched restoration job of Elías García Martínez's Ecce Homo, but then turn around and want MONEY FOR IT. !!!!!. It's too much.
Naturally, with the botched Jesus fresco so near and dear to my heart, I project it onto almost everything. Thus, the following images: a reimagining of Dolce & Gabbana's latest Milan Fashion Week offerings were they the result of a collab with Ms. Giménez. HAPPY FRIDAY!
Just as the curtain of runway glamour opens on New York City and street style peacocking invades sidewalks, the internet has officially bestowed a lump of GOLD onto our laps! This virtual gem comes courtesy of Veva Cava, who are serving up a refreshing New York Fashion Week palette cleanser with their new campaign for Viva Vena. Starring our MTV Style crush Lizzy Caplan, this clever, hilarious, and totally good-humored parody of "serious" fashion films hits all the right notes, starting with the faux "Best Fashion Film Festival Ever" award at the beginning to her oh-so-trendy flower crown idly floating away at the end (~*symbolism*~). These vintage typewriters, ribbon dancing, and Lizzy's empty expressions might be hilarious, but you know what's NOT a joke? Viva Vena's really cute clothes, which debut later this month. For now, watch the video in all its tongue-in-cheek glory below and just TRY not to crack up...
Rebel Wilson wears her Fat Mandi tee.

Oh HEY. Have we mentioned how totally, completely and utterly excited we are that Rebel Wilson is the star of the 2013 MTV Movie Awards?! (Rhetorical question, we know...). But now that she has a T-SHIRT LINE, we've found a whole new reason to love her. Yep, you read that right— the Aussie funny lady has just debuted a "t-shirt experiment" called Fat Mandi, which she blasted out to the world via Twitpic earlier this week. Not to be confused with her Pitch Perfect alter-ego Fat Amy, these tees takes cues from her character in the 2006-2007 Australian sketch comedy THE WEDGE. Mandi talked about starting her own fake eponymous label in this hilarious clip from way back when, and with these Fat Mandi tops splashed with, um, strategically-placed donuts and cupcakes, she's finally done it!
It's true: 2012 was THE year of self portraits, and if you're still messing up those personal shots, it's time to get it together, people! We're in 2013! Lucky for us, JWOWW and Snooki stopped by Late Night With Jimmy Fallon to create the ultimate guide to taking selfies, and we certainly learned a thing or two from their short-but-sweet video. The former Jersey Shore girls are now the stars of their own show (appropriately called Snooki & JWOWW), and together they are an unstoppable self-portrait-mastering force! They broke it down into four easy steps, so all us selfie amateurs can understand how it works. Let's get to it!

Where did the time go?? It feels like just yesterday we were hypothesizing about what fancy treats mommy Beyonce and daddy Jay-Z would pool together for Blue Ivy Carter's grand arrival. A first photo reveal via Tumblr, a trademark case, and several months later, and suddenly Baby Blue is one year older. The heir to The Throne made her way into the world on this day, January 7, exactly one year ago, and since then, she's been making her fair share of waves on our style pages.
From her custom shoe game to her luxurious outerwear, Blue (by way of Bey and Hov's choices and purchases, of course — make no mistake, we're not suggesting baby girl is dressing herself) is garnering her own style cred and just may be poised, with time, to follow in the footsteps of many of our favorite rockstar daughters (Lourdes Leon, Zoë Kravitz, Kelly Osbourne, Georgia May Jagger, etc.). Thus, we're celebrating the stylish toddler's special day the best way we know how: Photoshopping an imaginary birthday soiree with some of our favorite fashion protégés.
'Ello! It's MTV Style's resident cat lady here to bring you the latest and greatest feline fashion news, and today I am SO excited to share this behind-the-scenes video of United Bamboo's (now famous!) annual cat calendar shoot. *squee* If you thought 12 gorgeous pictures of cats decked out in the finest United Bamboo clothing was enough to wet your whistle, then whew! We've got something huge in store for you—more than six minutes of nothing put pure cat fashion amazingness thanks to The Stylish (and Kickstarter for funding the entire project!). Not only do we get to peep the cats in their oh-so-cute modeling glory, but co-owner of United Bamboo, Thuy Pham, also says a few words of fashion wisdom to kick things off. But, um, I need to discuss all my favorite moments from this video before my heart explodes into a billion pieces, which I have nicely displayed for you in picture form below. Also, peep my hottie-boom-bottie friend Laura Marcus who makes a stylish appearance with her kitty. You're welcome.
It's the home stretch, y'all! We are soooo close to the end of the year, we can almost TASTE the Auld Lang Syne and New Year's glitterbombing. All month long, we've been counting down the biggest and best style moments of 2012 from the typical like best hair, nail art, and campaigns to the silly (e.g. cat ladies, sticker apps, and Instagram selfies). What's next on deck? A personal favorite: the year's best fashion lyrics.
MTV Style exists, in part, due to an intrinsic and unavoidable relationship between music and fashion. That happy creative marriage manifests itself in a couple of different ways from designers inspired by musical muses to high fashion performance outfits to renaissance musician/designers dominating everything from the runway to retail à la Kanye West and Jessica Simpson. The point of intersection we're interested in today is the "Fashion Lyric." Musicians, especially MCs, have been writing style references into their songs for years, but this year, fashion lyrics feel more prevalent than ever. I mean, what are the chances of both Yeezy and Nicki Minaj penning rhymes about Vogue EIC Anna Wintour in the same year? And believe us, that's only the tip of the iceberg. We made it our duty to sift out all the best nuggets from this year's offerings (yes, non-singles from new album releases this year were fair game!) and relay them back to you. Peep our round-up of the best fashion lyrics of 2012 from Macklemore & Ryan Lewis's ode to thrift shopping to A$AP Rocky's expert integration of Maison Martin Margiela, and there's even a nod to Lady Gaga's Philip Treacy runway wardrobe extravaganza. Enjoy!

There's nothing that makes us happier than stumbling across a KILLER fashion-themed Tumblr—especially when it involves animals. We lost our shiz when we discovered Fashimals (you know, the blog that turns fashion editors into animals), but this brand spanking new (it launched this week!) blog has our stone-cold, steel-encased style hearts melting. It's called Wear This To That and basically, it works like this: Pick an animal, pick an event, and dress them appropriately for it. The beauty of it, though, is that the minds behind the Tumblr (illustrator Heather Pieske and Midwest Style founder Jeffrey Kieslich) have executed this to utter perfection. See that shark up there? Yeah? Well, he's wearing a Jil Sander whale sweater to a fish fry. (Heh.) Oh, and that corgi? He's wearing an ultra-cozy Monclear vest to a Homecoming game, obvi.
Actual Halloween is still exactly one week away, but the beauty of having All Hallows' Eve fall on a Wednesday is that you get TWO weekends to celebrate! Whether your spooky festivities are kicking off this coming weekend, or you're saving it all up for the proper fright night, we have some easy peasy costume ideas inspired by some of our favorite fashion plates that require extreeeeeemely minimal effort on your part, but are sure to be #totesamaze. Let's get started!
Dress like Karl Lagerfeld for Halloween.

Karl Lagerfeld is not only a chic, high fashion Halloween option, near-replicating his luxe minimalist, heavily tailored steez for the purposes of this holiday is actually not that difficult nor does it have to be super expensive. You can cop almost all of Karl's stark black and white pieces at your nearest Forever 21, put your hair in a ponytail (COVERED in white hair spray), and finish it off with a pair of sunglasses and fingerless leather gloves.

EmotiStyle as toast for Halloween.

"Sexy" Sesame Street Halloween costumes may be a thing this year, but C'MON, guys...we can do so much better than that! After all, Halloween is all about flexing those creative DIY muscles, and wearing next to nothing in your scantily clad bunny outfit? Ehh...not exactly mindblowing (insert Mean Girls quote here). In a stroke of internet magic this morning, we discovered an amazingly awesome music video with the exact same message...and some rad dance moves to boot. The brilliantly-titled "Things You Can Be On Halloween Besides Naked!!!" comes courtesy of New York-based comedians EmotiStyle and is basically a hilarious how-to dress guide while still keeping your clothes on. Zipping through clever AND covered-up costume ideas like phone chargers, toast, and Louis CK, the outfit options in the clip are accompanied by zingers such as “You can just be a nurse. You don’t have to be a sexy nurse.” #Truth. So because we're obsessed (and wanted to pick their Halloween-y brains), we tracked down EmotiStyle's Shamikah and Molly to talk about the problems with costume shopping, Halloween dos and don'ts, and why fashion dreams rarely come in a plastic bag. See what they have to say after the jump!
