Getting excited for the Video Music Awards on September 12? We are! And we have Mr. Justin Bieber to thank for the little style butterflies happening in the belly of our blog right now. That's because MTV just released NEW behind-the-scenes photos of The Biebs shooting his promo commercial for the VMAs (watch the whole spot here). At the shoot, he told MTV News that his look is inspired by the Beatles, but in terms of music legends, we think he channels more of an Elvis Presley "Hound Dog" look (see below). Though, we're spotting MORE than just the Beatles or Elvis resemblance here. Rather, we think he has the same style as Janelle Monae, with that white tuxedo jacket with a black lapel and black dress slacks. Both pull off the look quite well, don't you think? But who looks better — Justin or Janelle? You tell us.

Tip "T.I." Harris has been traveling up the east coast recently to promote his new movie, Takers. And what did he pack? A lot of destroyed denim! Last Monday, the rapper/actor/Akoo clothing line owner wore a faded dark blue wash, which he paired with black sneakers and a black T-shirt to a screening of his film in Washington, D.C. On Friday night, he attended a party for AXE in Southhampton, N.Y. in a ripped-up pair of denim, and finished the look with a red, purple, and beige striped cardigan, brown lace-up ankle boots, and black glasses. How preppy schoolboy! Then, on Sunday night, he attended another screening for Takers in New York wearing sneakers, a gray sweater, the same glasses from Friday, and, of course, destroyed faded jeans. Are you seeing this, boys? This is a great example of how to style one look several different ways.

When Taboo, one-fourth of the supergroup Black Eyed Peas, stopped by the MTV.com studios recently, we had one thing on our minds: SNEAKERS. After all, he's known for his eclectic style, and now he's getting even more into the fashion game. After creating his first footwear design collaboration with the sneaker label Jump last year (TabooXJump), he's expanding by launching his first full line of men's sneakers called Taboo Deltah 3008, which just hit Footaction nationwide and online at TabooDeltah.com. FYI, BEP fans: These are the sneakers he wears on stage, so if you want them, here's your chance. His line includes three styles: a low-top, high-top, and sneaker boot, all priced between $65 to $85 "for the kids who really appreciate sneakers and the sneaker pimps," he explains. But let him tell you that himself in the videos below.

+ ON CREATING HIS OWN SHOE LINE:
"I went to China to actually pick the hardware, the patent leather, the type of material that I wanted to use, the type of stitching that I wanted the shoe to come with, to see how the shoe is made, so that it’s not just a celebrity just putting his name on something.”

Justin Bieber pulled a MAJOR swagger move on us over the weekend. He converted one of his most famous stage outfits — his white jacket, white pants, and purple vest — into a business look. Let's break it down: The streetwear look is his big performance outfit from his My World Tour, which we've seen in a bunch of times. But, in a move that can only come from those who have attempted to master swagger, he transformed his stage look into something more formal when he spoke at New Look Foundation's First Annual World Leadership Awards in Atlanta over the weekend. He kept the hint of purple under his outerwear by putting on a purple button-down, and he kept the suit light, just like his white jacket and pants. IMPRESSIVE. And ... he's wearing sneakers! Can't give those up, right? We're digging business suit Justin a lot. Mainly because we've seen him in hoodies all the time, and this suit look proves he can still look young and fresh even when he's all gussied up.
+ Tell us: Which do you prefer — streetwear Justin or business-suit Justin?
Who says girls have all the fun when it comes to dressing up? Last night, we noticed our favorite guys showed up to the Teen Choice Awards in Los Angeles looking especially dapper and cleaned up. Tees, plaid, blazers, vests, and some sexy button-downs dominated on everyone from Taylor Lautner to Chace Crawford to Zac Efron. Perhaps these guys were in a back-to-school state of mind, with fall just around the corner? We’re not sure, but we loved the return to preppy basics! Check out all the hottest trends below.
PLAID: Plaid kicks it off! Both Twilight heartthrobs Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner wore the classic print to last night’s awards. Taylor chose a maroon variation and wore it over J Brand's Kane-style jeans ($165). Meanwhile, Rob picked a blue shirt and rolled the sleeves up for a casual twist. Look at his styling technique! Did he just out-plaid Taylor? We think so! Who looked better?

Bill Kaulitz is usually the first Kaulitz that comes to mind when we think Tokio Hotel fashion. (Did you see his leather lace-up Dsquared2 pants?!) But he's not the only Kaulitz who loves fashionable things — his twin brother Tom Kaulitz scored a modeling gig! Reebok signed the 20-year-old Tokio Hotel guitarist/sneakerhead to model shoes for the company as part of a promotion (for people who log on to Reebok.com in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, they can enter to win a contest to join Tom on tour). In several interviews about his new endeavor, Tom mentioned how insane his obsession has become. "At home, I created a little room like a little storage room," he said of his sneakers. He also said that he gets 10 new pairs a week. That's 520 sneakers a year. Can you imagine?! We only dream of owning that many shoes.
+ Do you like the way Tom shows off his kicks? Think he took any modeling pointers from his twin brother Bill, who modeled for Dsquared2? Tell us in the comments!

Taylor Jacobson landed on the fashion scene as the sassy, impeccably-dressed, no-nonsense stylist assistant from Bravo’s The Rachel Zoe Project. But after four years of working with celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe (and dressing celebs like Demi Moore and Molly Sims), two seasons of reality television, and one buzzed-about breakup with her former boss, the Los Angeles-based Taylor is making her own way, styling on a number of movies and commercials and working with a host of private clients. Now, she’s also trying her hand at design, collaborating with Kasil to create a line of jeans, which are now available in stores like Bloomingdale’s, Ron Herman, and online at Kasil Workshop for $119 to $195. Last night, we talked to Taylor to get her take on denim, California-girl style, and back-to-school fashion. Oh, and did she watch this week’s third season premiere of her ex-boss’s Bravo show? Read on to find out. Read More...
Oh, Brody Jenner, you got all punk on us! The Hills boy was spotted leaving Katsuya restaurant in Hollywood over the weekend with a new punk-inspired look — a Mohawk. And it looks freshly shaved. We miss all of his hair!!! It's gone, but not forgotten.
