Beyonce's newest fragrance, Rise.

What might Beyonce's new perfume smell like? "Success" (of course), according to Siempre Mujer beauty and lifestyle editor Jess Torres, who appears to have gotten the first look at it. The news has yet to be confirmed by Beyonce or her Parfums team, but Torres says Queen Bey will add a new scent to her already booming fragrance empire—first Heat, then Pulse, and now Rise. Perhaps she was taking notes at the Yeezus show? Arriving in luxe black packaging with gold lettering, Rise looks like the foil to Jay Z's scent Gold. Unfortunately, the orchid is likely not included. #editorperks
Ariana and Miley get in the holiday spirit for Jingle Ball in Minnesota.

Deck the halls with crop tops and high-cut leotards, y'all. Minnesota's Jingle Ball happened in St. Paul last night, and BOY, did things get festive. Now I like an ugly Christmas sweater just as much as the next person, but Ariana Grande and Miley Cyrus took holiday cheer to a whole new level with their uber-yuletide outfits. And, as you might expect, one of them was naughty and the other was nice. (Although we're sure Santa appreciates the sentiment, regardless.)
It was a big year for short hair. Models, singers, and actresses all made drastic chops to their 'dos, or at least toyed with the idea. In early 2013, Karlie Kloss' bob was named the haircut of 2012, but this year, stylish women dared to go even shorter. Here are some contenders for the Best Haircut award, though I'm not sure what the prize is. Sorry, ladies.
Jennifer Lawrence's hair in 2013.

Considering her most popular role has its own signature braid, Jennifer Lawrence's pixie cut was totally unexpected. More expected? How good she looks with a new length. J.Law had long hair throughout awards season, which she wore up, down, and to the side to collect her multiple awards for her role in Silver Linings Playbook.
In April, she chopped her locks off into a lob (long bob, FYI), and in November, she went full platinum pixie. Her Hunger Games: Catching Fire red carpet style has been taking advantage of her hair's bold new ~edge~, and we can't wait to see how she styles her 'do for each award show at the top of 2014.
The many looks of Miley Cyrus.

If we've learned anything about Miley Cyrus this year, it's that she probably owns more high-cut bikini bottoms than anyone in the free world. We've also learned that if it weren't for New York Fashion Week, there's a chance she could have been single-handedly credited with reviving the sartorial styles of the 1990s. And even though crop tops first started cropping up (heh) on runways back in October 2012, Miley was definitely one of the trend's earliest AND most enthusiastic supporters (like that time she wore four in 24 hours this summer). You might even say that her newfound personal style was, and is, miles (heh) ahead of the curve.
Fashion in the '90s was primarily characterized by a kind of laid-back minimalism. (Not pantsless minimalism, per se—but maybe that's Miley's modern twist?) Leaving the neon spandex, leg warmers, and bulky shoulder pads of the '80s behind, the following decade was heavily influenced by Seattle's grunge-rock scene (tartan flannel, overalls, Doc Martens) and hip-hop streetwear (labels, a ton of flashy bling). Comfort was key, but even more important was the ability to have your style convey a sense of rebellion and anti-establishment. And that's exactly what Cyrus claims to stand for. "It's almost punk rock to like me because it's not the right thing to do," she told Cosmopolitan. "Like, society wants to shut me down."
So, to celebrate Miley's BIGGEST and most stylish year to date (sorry, Hannah Montana fans), we've laid out the many ways that her evolving look has paid tribute to the decade in which she was born. In the words of 2 Unlimited, frozen in time by Jock Jams and Space Jam, "Y'all ready for this?" (DUN NUH NUH!)
Nicki Minaj models a dress from the spring line of her Kmart collection.
Photo: @nickiminaj Instagram
Back in early November, Nicki Minaj posted a photo to her Instagram wearing a chain-print dress from her Nicki Minaj Collection for Kmart, which wasn't included in the fall line. That got us wondering whether her Minajesty was, in fact, designing a second season for Kmart and, well, we just got our answer: She is!
Nicki, after a brief Instagram and Twitter hiatus (never leave us again!), posted pictures of herself in a multicolored graffiti-print dress with the caption, "NickiMinajSpringCollection #SneakPeak." This print is definitely new, but the signature cut and fit resembled her fall collection. It seems safe to say most of Nicki's designs are going to be both tight and short. Or they'll work with no shirt on underneath. Every designer has her classic looks.
Katy Perry on the cover of 'Marie Claire.'

Katy Perry continues her grunge-gone-light phase on the cover of Marie Claire, wearing a lilac leather jacket, matching skirt, and safety-pin necklace. Her hair is, if you haven't noticed, very black these days. It matches her crop top and smoky eye and is mussed to perfection.
With the exception of her Prismatic performance outfits, which have Katy swaddled in every color at once, KP has been dressing primarily in darker shades (black, bordeaux, black, navy, did we say black?) since starting press for Prism. Maybe she's in mourning for her "California Gurls" alter ego? Or maybe she just likes black? On this cover, though, she's styled in pastels (kinda springy for a January cover, amirite?), and we're reminded of a time not long ago when all she wore were bright colors. Even on her head.
L to R: Lady Gaga in chaps, an iPad wedding dress, and with a Christmas tree on her head.

Lady Gaga wore more outfits in one weekend than most people do in, like, a year. These were obviously not your run-of-the-mill T-shirt and jeans either. One of her dresses featured a working iPad, and she paired another with winter's hottest headpiece: a decorated Christmas tree. She managed to squeeze in six other looks, and as usual, they're all worth discussing, so let's get to it!
Miley's got a brand new bob.

Welp, it's official: Miley Cyrus is a magician. How else could you explain her overnight hair transformation? On Friday, Miley performed at KIIS FM's Jingle Ball in L.A., where her pixie cut was softly combed over, revealing a shaved side. Business as usual, basically. Then suddenly, without warning, Cyrus showed up to an event on Saturday sporting a classic blunt bob with baby bangs. Now, we all know that in recent months, Miley's been vocal about wanting to grow her hair back out—but adding inches within hours? That's straight-up sorcery.
Selfies were errywhere this year. Oxford Dictionaries named selfie the word of 2013, which, based on celebrity Instagram accounts, makes total sense. Celebs love taking selfies and we, as bloggers and breathing humans, love looking at said selfies. We've come to rely on them to tell us what our faves are wearing, where they are, and who they're hanging with. It isn't until you look through every Instagram of Rihanna's from the past year that you truly appreciate just how much the badgal loves sharing her face/her new hair color/her products with the rest of the world. But Ri's not the only one doing it. We've rounded up our favorite selfies from the past year so you can peep 'em and refer back when taking GPOYs of your own. Enjoy!
NICKI MINAJ: MOST SELFIES NOT FOCUSED ON HER FACE
Nicki Minaj shares her selfies with two special guests.
For most people, selfies are all about the face. Obviously, Nicki Minaj is not like most people. Her selfies tend to draw attention to the two assets that sit below eye level and could easily stay out of frame. Nicki got bolder about baring as the year went on. While she began 2013 with some heavy cleavage, by the end she was straight-up giving us full-frontal pasties. Her Halloween costume, in case you couldn't tell, was a police officer. It's been a while since we've gotten any Instagrams from her Minajesty, so we're hoping she's planning to make up for lost time in 2014.

Lady Gaga is starting to make an art of leaving hotels. HAH. Get it? o_O (Sorry, it's Friday.) On Wednesday, Gaga left a London hotel in a sprawling cape printed with Da Vinci's Mona Lisa. She also matched her makeup to resemble the famous subject. Today, she walked out in an oversized sweatshirt painted to resemble Picasso's 1932 piece, Girl before A Mirror. The original mostly makes use of primary colors, while Gaga's version is tinted in pastels. (Do I spy a hint of Pantone's Color of the Year, Radiant Orchid, in there? How hip and trendy of you, Gagaloo!) Mother Monster wore a pink, knee-length fishtail skirt under her mock Picasso and accessorized with yellow, tasseled platform brogues, ruffle-top ankle socks, and fishnet hose.
