Beyonce + glitter explosions + a hair-flip to beat all hair-flips. No, that's not JUST the afternoon we're having, that's a very brief synopsis of a new video making the internet rounds. A new video which maaay be the first commercial for Bey's newest fragrance, Rise. As we sit here playing the 30-second clip on a constant loop, we can only wish and hope that the gilded promo is the real deal.
The commercial begins with a dramatic chord synched up with a slow-motion eye flicker. And then. We are graced with our first glitter explosion. While we can't be 100% sure, we're guessing this is what the creation of the universe (and/or Beyonce) must have looked like.
Beyonce in head-to-toe Versace.

If you haven't been keeping up with Beyonce's photo-posting marathon over the past few days, what have you been doing? There are 24 hours in a day. You can dedicate at least five of them to looking through every picture Bey shares. In case you have other things going on, we'll fill you in: Beyonce has been wearing a lot of Versace. Like, she probably should've been given a verse in Migos' "Versace" (under her rap alter ego, Third Ward Trill) because she would have a lot of material.
To hang out with Jay in an elevator, Bey wore a printed pink silk Versace shirt and a pair of leggings from the M.I.A.'s Versus Versace collab. While the shirt is sold out (it was a cool $638 anyway), the green-and-pink floral-print leggings are still available! You may not be able to wear Versace on Versace exactly like Bey, but you CAN put those bad boys on and pose in any elevator you can find.
Lorde on the covering of 'Rolling Stone.'
Photo: Rolling Stone
In case you couldn't tell, this is Lorde on the cover of Rolling Stone. With Lorde's glorious mane covering five of the letters from the magazine's name, it could easily pass as "Roll One," which would be, like, a magazine about good bread or something, IDK. It's definitely Rolling Stone, though, because Lorde is very, very excited about it. She's given the announcement an all-caps tweet, so you know she's excited. She doesn't throw caps around frequently.
This isn't Lorde's first magazine cover, but it is the first of 2014 and also—hello—Rolling Stone is huge. The singer is, as usual, channeling "goth vibes" on the cover, with her dark plum lips and familiar all-black uniform.
Lily Allen on the set of her new video for "Air Balloon."

After a too-long hiatus (three years, to be exact), Lily Allen is back. From what I understand, she was busy doing things, like, having kids and getting married, or whatever. Basically, she's a certified adult now, but that doesn't mean she's lost her playful charm. Allen kicked off her comeback in November, with a new single AND a new video for "Hard Out Here," which featured a slew of dirty dancers on a soundstage, droppin' it like it's hot in barely-there outfits made of leather and mesh. According to a few pics Allen recently posted on Instagram, the location for her next video will be a bit more, um, scenic. (Don't worry, though. There will still be mesh. IRIDESCENT mesh.)
Lena Dunham on the cover of 'Vogue.'
Look who landed her first Vogue cover: Lena Dunham! I specify her first cover because Vogue does so as well in the title of the article, which, I assume, means Anna Wintour & Co. are planning for more in the future. Looks like Anna's appearance at the Girls premiere last week wasn't just to show off her perfectly appropriate jacket.
The February cover features Lena looking more buttoned-up (literally) than we're used to seeing her in a red polka-dot shirt. She's pulling at her collar as if she's nervous, but, girl, we've all seen your show. You know, Girls? The show you created, write, produce, direct, and star in. Being photographed by Annie Leibovitz must be less nerve-wrecking than all that, right?
Lady Gaga at NBC's 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards Party.

In the world of music and fashion, a day without a Lady Gaga sighting feels like an eternity. While we got used to seeing Mother Monster everywhere (and in numerous outfits) throughout November and December, she's barely been spotted in the new year. The last time we saw her perform was on The Voice with Christina Aguilera, when the duo wore matching iridescent-gold chiffon outfits. It looks like Gaga may have had some shiny material left over, because she wore a very similar look to NBC's Golden Globes after-party last night.
Taking the name of the awards show rather literally, Gaga joined her BF, Taylor Kinney, on the after-party circuit in a gold lamé dress. While her Voice jumpsuit was billowy and full-coverage, Gaga's Globes dress showed off some skin with its high slit, single sleeve, and bejeweled corset bodice. When LG comes back into our lives, she comes in BIG.
Emma Watson at the 2014 Golden Globes.

On a scale of one to 10 how often do you wish you could wear pants under dresses? We're hovering around a solid seven. You wouldn't have to deal with tights, you could sit any way you desire, and your look would be party in the front/on top, and business on the bottom/in the back. A mullet for your entire body? We're sold. Best of all, Emma Watson is repping that pants/dress lifestyle on the Golden Globes red carpet right now! #HERO
Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hosting the Golden Globes last year.

If you're anything like us, you may be wishing it was Sunday instead of Friday. Sure, your weekend would be over, but you'd get to see these two beautiful angels of comedy on your television screen! In case you somehow missed the news (I really don't know how you could, TBH), Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are hosting the Golden Globes again this year, and next year, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. In order to properly honor these two women (and to justify spending half of our work day watching Saturday Night Live skits from 2006), we decided to take a look at the fashion from some of their best SNL skits.
Join us, if you will, on a trip down memory lane. If you watch every video you can find, it'll be Sunday before you know it! Perfect weekend!
After Beyonce surreptitiously dropped her new album in the middle of the night, she followed up by sneaking some new merch into her online store. Much like her album, there was no announcement, no indication anything new was coming, and then—BAM—a T-shirt and a sweatshirt that matched the album's cover. Brace yourselves: She just did it again with more new merch!
Now, alongside the swag that joined her on her Mrs. Carter Show world tour dates, are four new sweatshirts in the album's simple pink Sans Serif text plus black-background format. Bey showed off the designs at her album release party, but we had no idea they'd be available for purchase so soon. It's like our best friend (Beyonce, natch) just gave birth to quadruplets and we can't choose our fave! We
want need them all.
