In conjunction with the release of her ARTPOP album, Lady Gaga opened an ARTPOP pop-up shop in New York City, which MTV was lucky enough to peep privately. *hair flip* The shop is in the former Alexander McQueen store space, which as our tour guide Melissa Notaro (art director, BMF Media) describes it, "has something very Gaga-esque about it." While none of Gaga's legendary McQueen pieces seem to be on display in the shop (think her 10-inch armadillo heels, her 2009 VMA red lace face mask), there are a ton of other immediately recognizable pieces.
Taylor Swift is headed to the catwalk to perform at this year's Victoria Secret's Fashion Show! While we're well aware of what the Angels will be wearing (bras, garter belts, etc.), what Taylor will perform in is a total ~mystery~. We've rounded up some of Taylor's past performance outfits that could serve as inspiration for the show: her typically modest dress will definitely stand out in a room full of scantily clad models, which is not an easy task.

The photo above depicts what Taylor could like performing in front of Behati Prinsloo (the future Mrs. Adam Levine, BTW), in a white turtleneck dress. The dress is multi-layered, and while it looks like some midriff/chest skin is showing, that is a ruse! It's skin-colored fabric covering her actual skin. Swift leaves the exposed epidermis to the ladies in wings.
Rihanna gives a sneak peak of her 'What Now' style.
Photo: @badgalriri's Instagram
Over the weekend, Rihanna posted a few short clips to Instagram of fans singing along to a live performance of her new single, “What Now.” One of the accompanying captions implied that a music video for the song would be coming soon, and judging from those videos, we got the impression that it might be fan-fueled. D’awww! #RihannaNavyLove Well, that may still be the case, but we now know that it will also include THE MULLET. Oh, and a very ripped, #ghettogoth Rihanna. BONUS!
According to Rihanna, the video for “What Now” is set to be released on #FRIHDAY (see what she did there?), and from the two style snaps she shared, it’s going to be RULL angsty. AND, if the lyrics of the song are any indication, the reason she’s squatting in that corner looking so angry in her heavy black eye makeup praaahbably has something to do with some unresolved issues with a certain *achem* trouble-making ex. But that’s just a guess, of course.
Miley Cyrus and co. in handmade 'Bangerz' tour merch.
Photo: Livenation's YouTube Page
In case you weren't sure what Miley Cyrus' upcoming Bangerz tour would be like, this promo video and its hand drawn t-shirts can serve as a reminder of what she's been up to for the past few months. It'll be easy for Smilers to create their own replica shirts at home because, well, the designs on these shirts require little to no skill. But also, if they were sold as merch on tour, we'd be more than OK with that.
Miley, who is chewing and smacking her gum like she's still in her "We Can't Stop" video, wears a shirt with two tongue-wagging, red-lipped mouths drawn across the chest. Each tongue has "Bangerz" scrawled across it, which, hopefully, isn't inspiration for Miley's next tattoo. Tongue tats are a no go, Miles! She also has on hot pants because duh, but, unusually, they're black and have sheer panels in them. You could call them underwear and no one would correct you.

While it's no RedFoo-inspired Speedo, Miley Cyrus' 2013 MTV EMAs red carpet ensemble is just as head-turning. Miley took a new spin on those throwback '90s photo screenprint t-shirts she's been known to rep, turning what was likely an East-meets-West The Notorious B.I.G. and 2Pac tee into a halter neck dress.
Lady Gaga in New York
Photo: Splash News
BREAKING NEWS: Lady Gaga wore an outfit another human on planet Earth would consider wearing. That person in the photo above this text is, in fact, Stefani Germanotta, a.k.a. Lady Gaga. You may not recognize her because she's not wearing her creepy new grill, isn't holding a giant seashell above her head, and doesn't have an inexplicable claw in her hand. You can trust us, though: that's definitely her.
It was announced yesterday that Gaga would be the first person to perform in space. Don't worry, Little Monsters, the performance is scheduled for 2015, so you still have time to buy your tickets and prepare to be in zero-gravity. Surprisingly, following the announcement, Gaga didn't make an appearance in a space suit or alien mask, but rather, dressed in head-to-toe black. She even had on flats instead of the 9-inch boots she's been wearing lately. Flats are more sensible for space, I suppose.
Taylor Swift on the CMA Awards red carpet.

At first glance, the sophisticated red gown Taylor Swift wore to this year's CMA Awards seemed pretty predictable. I mean, let’s be honest: she’s been known to rock full-skirted, feminine frocks a time or two (or ten) and this Elie Saab piece ~appears~ to be no different.
The ornate, crystal detailing, the demure neckline, the ample train—don’t get us wrong, the girl looks gorgeous. But it feels a little safe, no? NOPE. Further inspection reveals a dramatic, plunging back with The Most Perfect gathers that accentuate her tiny waist. Swoooooon. Taylor accessorized the business-in-front-party-in-the-back gown with stunning Lorraine Schwartz jewels, Jimmy Choo heels and a delicate chignon. Needless to say, we’re into it. (And hello! It’s red. Because, you know, Red. Heh. *sigh*)
Miley's new tattoo of her "mammie."
Photo: @mileycyrus' Twitter
Miley! What would your grandmother say?! (In this case, probably something along the lines of, “Well, isn't that swell.”) Last night, Miley Cyrus called on good pal and celebrity tattoo artist, Kat Von D, to add another piece of ink to her ever-growing collection. Kat’s tatted Cyrus several times before, including the two crossed arrows on her elbow (which symbolize “friendship”) and a mini-rendition of a da Vinci anatomical heart that she got in February and April, respectively. This time around, Von D replicated a vintage photo of Miley’s maternal grandmother, Loretta Finley, a.k.a., “Mammie,” on her right forearm. And it’s like, really real-looking.
Demi Lovato for 'Latina.'
Photo: 'Latina' magazine
Dang, Demi! And here we thought your last magazine cover was a knock-out. I mean, to be fair, it was. But this—this is like, stutter-inducing gorgeous. Latina magazine named Demi Lovato one of this year's "Latina Women of the Year," and it's easy to see why: the 21-year-old singer has been RULL busy over the last 12 months, doing things like singing catchy songs (duh), hosting The X Factor (for the second season in a row), collaborating on her own signature nail art collections, making charitabe trips to Africa and, oh, rocking the heck out of blue hair, which, TBH, is no easy feat.
And even though our dreams of a blue-haired Demi cover have yet to come true (*sigh*), she looks G-G-GREAT as a blonde. (Like we said, stutter-inducing.) Especially when paired with a body-con black dress, embellished cropped jacket, a majorly stunning necklace and a come-hither stare that, quite frankly, is making us blush.
MTV's Artist To Watch this week is none other than our fave barrette-wearing singer, Lorde. When Lorde was in New York recently, we had a chance to chat with her about her fashion choices and her ah-may-zing hair.
Lorde revealed that she's really into "goth vibes" (those vibes seem to be making the rounds: Rihanna's #ghettogoth steez, anyone?), even though she says the goth community may shun her. Don't exclude the lady holding strong at #1 on the Billboard charts for the fifth week in a row, goths!
