Lorde in 'Vogue.'
Lorde's goth-leaning style is more than just a fleeting trend. From the sensible pantsuit she chose for her performance at the Grammys to the glittering, glamorous Tom Ford gown she wore last night at the Brit Awards, her typically dark palette is decidedly not a reflection of doom and gloom and teenage angst. In fact, her onstage outfits indicate an incredibly mature sense of self.

If this decade's fashions have taught us anything, it’s that socks can make an outfit. The underrated accessory finally had its street-style moment last year after dominating the runway in 2012 (Prada, Bottega Veneta, Victoria Beckham, Michael Kors—the list goes on) and being championed by Rihanna back in 2010. Now, thanks to Santigold, the accessory’s cool stock just went up again.
Hot on the heels of Tom Ford's "knockoff of the knockoff" Molly dresses making their London Fashion Week debut, Beyonce is casting the spotlight yet again in the direction of Jay Z-loving French brand BBP. After performing "XO" at the Brit Awards—her first time back on that stage in 10 years—Bey wore her glittering blue Vrettos Vrettakos dress straight onto the plane. But not before swapping out her Gianmarco Lorenzi heels for sneaker wedges and shrugging on this BBP "Picasso Baby" jacket.

Rihanna may be the leading advocate for "red carpet goth,” but her peer Lorde is hot on her heels, owning it all awards season long. Remember her dip-dyed fingers at the Grammys? Well, Lorde's look was even darker today at the Brit Awards where she wore a vampy broken disco ball of a floor-length Tom Ford gown. Ella took the black sparkly creation up one notch on the goth scale with the addition of the trusty brick-soled platform boots she’s stepped out wearing many times before and her signature deep purple lipstick. With the exception of her pout, her beauty look was all about her hair—much like her V cover and, you know, always.
Last night, on his second day hosting The Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon was graced with the presence of an angel among men, Mr. Harry Styles. JK, it wasn't really Harry! It was Kristen Wiig wearing her finest British boy-band regalia and chatting with Jimmy about Harry's fave food (carnitas), animal (giraffe), and colour (green). While Harry's answers and missing accent were a little suspect, his look was not. Let's see how Kristen as Harry stacks up against real Harry, shall we?
Will the real Harry Styles please stand up?

The T-shirt/blazer combo is a throwback to Harry's old style (LOL), before he was a British Style Icon who wore Burberry and Yves Saint Laurent. While he prefers buttoned-up dress shirts with blazers these days, the open jacket, skinny black jeans, and shiny shoes are totally accurate. Kristen's jeans could probably be tighter, but she probably didn't want the blood in her legs to stop circulating.
Lady Gaga and Cam'ron are pretty in pink.

A pink fur coat is just not something you see every day. I bet most people have never even seen a pink fur coat IRL. So imagine the sheer joy that we experienced when we saw that Lady Gaga stepped out wearing a coat almost identical to Cam'ron's infamous early-aughts mink. Two pink fur coats, two of our fave people. And at the risk of inciting an all-out internet brawl, we're asking: Who wore it better?
Lady Gaga hits NYC in a fishnet bodysuit.

In New York City, the temperature dipped below freezing to a mere 16 degrees yesterday, but that wasn’t cold enough to stop Lady Gaga from stepping out in a fishnet jumpsuit. And only a fishnet jumpsuit. It was Mother Monster vs. Mother Nature, and judging by pics of Gaga casually strolling around after dusk, she doesn’t seem to be affected by the weather at all. Just look at her stopping to sign an autograph! For a dude very clearly wearing thick winter layers, no less! Taken together with Gaga's previous experience with full-body fishnet (remember that time she crowd-surfed at Lollapalooza in a ripped mesh suit?), it would seem to be an all-weather fabric for her?
Rihanna in 'Vogue.'
As expected, Rihanna is Vogue's March 2014 cover girl. Not as expected? Just how amazing the interview is. Like, I already thought RiRi and I were close (I follow her on Instagram, etc.), but after reading the article, we're, like, tight. *crosses fingers to demonstrate closeness* I mean, now I know her jewelry is "all fake—from Claire’s." I know everyone in her entourage calls her "She," and I know that she does her very own eye makeup using MAC eyeliner. That's the type of stuff only best friends know, right?
Another new Rihanna BFF is Plum Sykes, author of the feature, who not only hung around with Rih for the day, but was #blessed to be styled by her, too. One of the first pieces RiRi dresses Plum in is an oversized jacket (from Alexander Wang, natch) because, Rihanna reveals, "More than anything, I like a jacket. You can do anything with a great jacket, the bigger the better." You also don't need to wear a shirt or bra with a big jacket, so there really are multiple benefits.
Katy Perry and Jiff, chillin'.

If you can stop staring at possibly the world's cutest dog and direct your attention, like, two inches to the right, you may notice that Katy Perry's hair stops above her chin. Um, hi, Katy, it's us, your best friends, DID YOU GET A HAIRCUT?
In the preview for the "Dark Horse" video, which was released yesterday, Katy has a bob with bangs, but we just assumed it was a wig. We know Katy loves wigs (she even celebrates her successes with them), which is why we're not convinced the hair above is the stuff that grows out of her head. At the same time, short hair has been making waves again recently (see: Taylor Swift), and Katy hasn't had short hair since her colorful bob, so maybe she was ready for an IRL change.
