Kaye West Metal Patch Sweatpants

Yeah, you read that headline right: Kanye West was spotted at the Versace store opening yesterday wearing black sweatpants with giant, heavy metal patches plastered all across the front. He paired his slacks with a cozy black tee, a black leather motorcycle jacket, a gold chain (underneath) and, of course, his signature Air Yeezy 2s. Now, we never thought 'Ye was a metalhead, but his pentagram-adorned pants are proving otherwise. The slacks featured an "Exit" and two "Metal" patches along the front of his left leg, and on his right side, we peeped a neon green pentagram and (what looks like) a Baphomet head on his knee. Guys, should we be scared? *ducks*

Hailee Steinfeld

Hailee Steinfeld braves the double denim look.

The double denim look is a notoriously tricky one. Often referred to as the "Texas Tuxedo" (or sometimes the "Canadian Tuxedo"), wearing denim on denim is a bold style move with the distinct potential to go very, very wrong. But sometimes, and BELIEVE us when we say this is extremely rare even for the most famous of celebrities (see Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake circa the 2001 American Music Awards for indubitable proof) a freak fashion plate like the lovely Hailee Steinfeld takes the risk and knocks it right out of the park.

Sexy Sesame Street Halloween Costumes

Would you wear a "sexy" Elmo, Big Bird, or Oscar the Grouch Halloween costume?
Photo: Courtesy of Yandy.com

You heard it here first: "sexy" Sesame Street character Halloween costumes are real things that exist. I put the word "sexy" in quotation marks not just because it's a totally subjective term, but also because using it in such close proximity to a public broadcasting program that helped teach me the alphabet and how to count is pretty gross (to say the very least). Big Bird, Elmo, and pals have been making headlines and trending topics lately with Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney's mention of the large beloved avian puppet in the October 3rd presidential debate against incumbent Barack Obama. It actually makes the big yellow guy excellent fodder for Halloween costuming, but is rendering these cuddly childhood staples into décolletage flaunting, sheer-panelled ensembles that reveal more than enough under-butt necessarily the right move for your politically charged All Hallows Eve suiting? We're not so sure.

Cher Lloyd wearing Cheap Monday in New York City.
Photo: Getty Images/ via I Don't Like Mondays

Judging from her fashion-centric music videos and rad street style, Cher Lloyd is a PRO at making the sidewalk her very own personal runway. Just this week the U.K. songbird was spotted out and about in New York City rocking black and white ombre jeans, otherwise known as one of this season's most daring trends. While ombre denim has been a hit at Fashion Week the past few seasons at shows like Dries Van Noten and Balmain, the look hasn't gained quite as much fast-fashion momentum off the catwalk...until now, that is. Much of this newfound street cred goes to Cheap Monday, the denim label whose Second Skin Faded Black jeans are just $90. Cher Lloyd's clearly a fan, and she looks so good in the style that she miiiiight just convince us to hop on the ombre denim train, too. Check out more faded denim looks below!

Chanel, Denim dress

Chanel shows a denim tube dress for Spring 2013 at Paris Fashion Week.

A list of iconic elements come to mind with the mention of mammoth fashion house Chanel: classic ladylike chic, Karl Lagerfeld, pearls, tweed. But DENIM??? Well, stop scratching your head and giving me the side-eye because the above denim tube dress really is 100% ripped from Chanel's Spring 2013 ready-to-wear Paris Fashion Week show. Front-facing butt-pockets, bright red pocket square and all, this is an actual Karl creation for the legendary French house of high fashion.

Emma Watson at a screening of 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower' in London.

Demi Lovato may be feeling the '90s vibes these days with chokers and grunge-inspired beauty, but she's not the ONLY one having a style flashback. Emma Watson worked her own take on a major '90s trend this week, showing up to a special screening of The Perks of Being a Wallflower in London wearing...a dress over pants. Yep, whether you like it or not- the look officially back! The trend has been slowly infiltrating the runways, with designers like Lanvin, Dries van Noten and Acne showing in the past, and was a big hit this season as well, thanks to Chris Benz and Diane Von Furstenberg, who paraded the layers down the catwalk for Spring 2013. Considering our girl Emma is always one to hop on the trends early, it's not REALLY that surprising that she's ahead of the game. But considering her love for structural minidresses by emerging designers (see: Brood), the choice to rock this Christian Dior Couture number IS a little unexpected.

Dolce & Gabbana, Jeremy Scott

Dolce & Gabbana and Jeremy Scott show burlap sack dresses for Spring/Summer 2013 and 2012 respectively.

Take note, public. Thanks to the one-two punch of Dolce & Gabbana and Jeremy Scott, burlap potato sacks have now graced the Fashion Week runways for two years in a row. That means we officially need to get one (or two or infinity) into our closets STAT. I know what you're about to say: "You mean you're not already wearing burlap potato sacks on the daily? *hair flip*" Well, pump the brakes on the judgement train for just one hot second because maybe we have sensitive skin and thus maybe wanted to feel this trend out before diving in head first! *catches breath from defensive hyperventilating*

Lady Gaga Comme Des Garcons Dress

Lady Gaga in Paris on Sept. 22.
Photo: Splash News

You go, Lady Gaga! *snaps * Last week it seemed like people could NOT stop talking about Mother Monster's weight, and while we typically shy away from the touchy stuff, we just HAD to comment on Gaga's oh-so-amazing response to the whole debacle. It all started with pics from Lady Gaga's Amsterdam performance where she was criticized for showing off a fuller figure onstage. (Um, why don't Y'ALL trying wearing nothing but fishnets and a leotard in front of thousands of people, and then we'll talk. *hair flip*) But, in true Gaga fashion, she didn't let her haters have the last word. On Saturday, she stepped out in Paris wearing a super-sized, over-the-top two-tone hot pink and blue Comme Des Garçons coat, and tweeted: "And thank to my fans who love me no matter what, and know the meaning of real beauty&compassion. I really love you," with a link to a Marilyn Monroe quote that read, "To all the girls that think you're ugly because you're not a size 0, you're the beautiful one. It's society that's ugly." A-MAZING.

Wearable luggage brought to you by Jaktogo.
Photo: Courtesy of Jaktogo

Travelling is hard. Not the part where you're seeing the far reaches of the globe, experiencing culture, slurping iced lattes out of a swizzle straw, soaking in the WORLD and such. I'm talking about schlepping your goodies from coast to coast. I'm talking about the nitty gritty: printing your tickets, taking your shoes off, getting wanded, watching a security officer throw away your conditioner, putting your shoes back on, and the rest of that TSA hokey pokey. On TOP of that, it's a constant struggle to get all your luggage to stay under those pesky 50-pound weight restrictions, but a girl's gotta have options, AMIRITE? *flips hair* Yes, it's all verrrrry #firstworldproblems, but I have both the patience and the upper-body strength of a four-year-old, so go ahead and color me high-maintenance, and the people at Jaktogo who make a mini-collection of wearable luggage aren't doing much to help me think I'm alone in my frustrations.

Cheeseburger Backpack

Would you wear Eastpak's Hungry Henry cheeseburger backpack?
Photo: Courtesy of Eastpak

Backpacks are BIG right now. Not, like, physically, but as a trend. We're not sure if it's just because of back-to-school season or if maybe The Row's pricey alligator one was the sparkplug for a larger movement, but whatever the reason, the scholastic carry-all is a big deal this season and one we're certainly not fighting with. What's up for discussion here today is the cheeseburger photo print rocking all over this Eastpak. We want to know what you think: is it a yay or is it a nay?
