Courtney Love belts out a ballad about Etsy.

FLASHBACK: At the 1995 VMAs, Courtney Love, the hard-rocking, hard-talking front woman of Hole, chucked her MAC makeup compact at Madonna during an interview with Kurt Loder. #Can’tBeTamed. Now, after nearly 25 years as the most unfiltered female in rock and roll, Love is a lot less concerned with crashing conversations and has turned her focus toward fashion.
Since serving as a dutiful muse to Saint Laurent’s Hedi Slimane, Love’s officially ready to kick her Never The Bride label (which debuted in 2011) into full gear. Ladies of the ‘90s, REV. YOUR. ENGINES! In fact, the OG of grunge chic apparently has plans to give Rodarte a run for their money. SCURRT! Yup. It’s like that.
Coming off the end of a U.S. tour, Love, who’s also releasing a memoir and heading back to Hollywood, recently phoned it in to Vanity Fair to talk about plans for her Victorian rebel collection, the pains of being popular and her six-figure online shopping addiction. Girl, we feel you. Not so much the six-figure stat, but binge shopping on the interwebz is most definitely a real problem. And the first step is admitting it. Here’s what we learned from the VF chat:
Lady Gaga for 'V' Magazine.
Photo: V Magazine
Remember how we kind of off-handedly pointed out that Lady Gaga was almost topless on that first V Magazine cover from earlier this week? All that cleavage blending into underboob was just an afterthought because we were so caught up in the CUSTOM Saint Laurent draped on top of it. And we also kind of noted that she wasn't really wearing much more for her inside shots. Welp, let this be the day we learn to never underestimate Gagaloo's commitment to nakedness. V has just unveiled all four of Lady Gaga's limited edition covers AND spreads, and girl is barely wearing any clothes.
Sky Ferreira on the cover of 'Fader'

Sky Ferreira graces the cover of The Fader's Fall Fashion Issue and, even better, there's a behind the scenes video of the shoot! The cover was shot by the singer's friend, Sandy Kim, and while Sky looks less than pleased, the BTS vid shows that the shoot was actually full of LOLs (wow, and I thought the camera never lied).
Lady Gaga's first of four "V" Magazine covers.

There’s no denying that Lady Gaga has returned to the limelight in a HUGE way lately. Releasing a new single, hitting the streets in full face paint, prepping for her upcoming VMA performance…and that only covers the past 48 hours! Never one for keeping fans off their toes, Mother Monster has shared her new V Magazine cover—and it does NOT disappoint. The pic was shot by Inez and Vinoodh (yep, the same duo responsible for her "Applause" artwork) and is the first of four covers the magazine is releasing as part of a limited edition box set. Each installment will depict a different phase of Gaga's life, this first one (above) illustrating her late teenage years when she was still a brunette named Stefani Germanotta.
Jennifer Lawrence on the cover of "Vogue"

Jennifer Lawrence can now add fashion icon to her growing list of achievements: everyone's fave actress/imaginary best friend graces the cover of Vogue's September Issue (her first Vogue cover is the biggest one of the year, NBD). On the cover, which was shot by Mario Testino, J.Law wears a look from the fall 2013 Calvin Klein collection and shows off her Karlie Kloss-inspired bob. She rocks a smoky-eye that highlights her insanely blue eyes and tops off the look with a light pink lip, and a flush of peachy blush. Her only jewelry is a gold signet ring on her pinky that almost exactly matches the tone of her hair.
Miley Cyrus for Harper's Bazaar.
Photo: Harper's Bazaar
Miley Cyrus may be better known, at this point, for her teeny tiny outfits, grills and arguable Dimepiece addiction, but that doesn't mean the girl can't also get down with some high FASHUN. I mean, remember how she slayed in fishnet Marc Jacobs at the Met Gala this year? Case in POINT. Welp, doubly proving that she's sartorially multi-faceted beyond her unicorn twerking onesie, Miley linked up with Harper's Bazaar for a COUTURE spread in the mag's September issue (a.k.a. the most important of the entire fashion editorial calendar)!
Listen, sometimes we just want to see some of our favorite musicians and actresses decked out in THE coolest couture duds, OK? Like, is that so much to ask? Apparently not! Former Vogue Paris EIC Carine Roitfeld made our dreams a reality in the latest issue of Harper's Bazaar by choosing 20 ladies to be featured in her "Singular Beauties" spread. Basically, she rounded up some of our faves (think: Dakota Fanning and Lily Collins) as "an homage to the diversity of women," which was photographed by Mr. Karl Lagerfeld himself. One of our top looks was definitely from Grimes who mixed high and low fashion in the best way possible. She sported a floral Saint Laurent by Hedi Slimane frock with furry Fendi shoes and a backward purple snapback. She turned up her beauty game by wearing a dark burgundy lip against her bright red hair. Rapper Angel Haze worked it OUT in a killer menswear-inspired ensemble. She wore a Giorgio Armani shirt and overalls (!!!) paired with Lanvin oxfords. Oh, and that yellow fur jacket she's standing on? That's Versace.
Selena Gomez on 'i-D' magazine's pre-fall 2013 issue.
Photo: Scott Trindle/i-D
As much as we love seeing Selena Gomez hanging out in the back of limos decked out in THE most fancy ensembles, we'll admit that sometimes we just like to see our girl chillin' in some no-nonsense duds. In the pre-fall 2013 issue of i-D magazine, they do just that. Sel is stripped of all her couture gowns and hits the streets of London in nothing more than a jeans and a sweater. In her super 'dorbs debut cover photo, she sports an all-black Margaret Howell pullover with perfectly-tousled waves and barely-there makeup. We LOVE seeing Selena's natural beauty shine through, and, um, can we talk about how she may be the only person in the universe who looks cute while making this face? *bows down*
Just when you think Katy Perry covered every fashion mag known to man, the singer still had a lot of magazine firsts this year—Vogue this past July, and now ELLE UK for September! She traded in all those romantic couture gowns from her Vogue spread with a super fun and fresh look that we TOTALLY want to cop this fall. KP ditched her signature perfectly-curled coif for a messier, edgier razor cut 'do. She also opted for a swipe of super thick liner all around her lids for a '60s-model-meets-punk-rocker feel. For a pop of color, she sported bright teal polish on her tips. Me-ow.
One Direction on the cover of "Teen Vogue."
Photo: Teen Vogue
Look, guys! It's One Direction on the cover of Teen Vogue! Feel like you're having déjà vu? Pretty sure you remember 1D JUST posing for the The Fashion Bible's younger sister really recently? Welp, you're not alone. And you're not wrong, either! The world's most adorable Brit-Irish boy band is gracing the cover of Teen Vogue for a second time, less than a year after the group's first appearance. Back in winter, Teen Vogue gave Harry, Zayn, Liam, Niall, and Louis individual covers swaddled in tweeds and wool knits—"Hot Holiday Style" was the predominant cover line. Now, the teen glossy has the dudes (deservedly) back for their September issue (a.k.a. the Super Bowl issue of the fashion editorial world)!
