Tired of the same ol' same hairstyle? We found some serious hair inspiration yesterday at several New York Fashion Week shows. Granted, you may not want to braid a scarf into your hair or spray paint your strands silver, but these wild manes are sure to get your creative juices flowing.

CRAFTY BUNS AT THAKOON: At Thakoon, strips of knit fabric were twisted through models' hair into funky french rolls.

FRIZZY FAUX HAWKS AT BENSONI: Bensoni teamed thigh high boots on feet with pompadoured messy braided faux hawks. To emphasize the edginess of the style, some models had the sides spray painted silver.

PIN-UP GIRL WAVES AT LELA ROSE: Lela Rose models wore Old Hollywood finger waves in the front and a modern ponytail in the back.

With roughly 28 shows crammed into two days, the busiest time during New York Fall 2011 Fashion Week could quite possibly be the weekend. Yep, there was a lot of style fabulousness going on. Check out our fave lineups below and let us know if you agree.

JILL STUART: A lot, but not all, of the Fall 2011 fashion shows over the weekend featured dark threads. There was a color explosion at Jill Stuart's collection presentation, which was full of animal print dresses, faux fur, and color-blocked frocks.

PRABAL GURUNG: Red carpet-fave Prabal Gurung brought the whimsy to Fashion Week with his Fall 2011 collection, which was jammed with below-the-knee, belted cocktail dresses in regal hues like black, red and gray. To give the Great Expectations-inspired shifts edge, Gurung teamed them with funky-patterned tights and slick leather gloves with wrist ties.

DEREK LAM: It was fun to see Derek Lam’s collection on the runway, but more than anything we wanted to touch each and every piece. Plush furs, soft shearlings, and trendy wools dominated the designer's Fall 2011 line of coats, vests, and blazers. Comfy cozy.

This weekend we saw a slew of braids on New York Fashion Week runways. But not just any old Little House on the Prairie braids. These were braids with a serious twist! At Charlotte Ronson, models' hair was slicked to one side with a few tiny plaits peeking out from underneath. Meanwhile, the models at Erin Fetherston and Band of Outsiders wore chunky braids--Erin Fetherston's were wrapped crown-style around their heads, and Band of Outsiders were pulled to one shoulder.

New York Fall 2011 Fashion Week is in full swing (yay!), and we're hitting the tents and following the live streams to bring you chic runway looks, hot hair trends, and easy-breezy front row looks.

FASHION SHOW: JASON WU

• Menswear goes girly at Jason Wu's Fall 2011 fashion show with fitted trousers, lacy sweaters, and bow-tied tops.

• We can totally see First Lady Michelle Obama, who is already a fan of the designer, rocking the third outfit (polka dot blouse and gray pencil skirt) in this runway line.

• P.S. We've seen a handful of slicked-down ponytails for Fall 2011. Take note.

RUNWAY BEAUTY: REBECCA TAYLOR

• Hope you still have your hair crimper from middle school, because you might need it this fall! At Rebecca Taylor's fashion show models smoothed down the top portion of their hair, and crimped the bottom half.

• Ohhhh, pretty! Red lips and gilded shadow is a match made in makeup heaven.

• Below the neck, Rebecca Taylor's fall collection was full of '70s Parisian-style tunics, dresses, and trousers.

FRONT ROW CELEB: MICHELLE TRACHTENBERG AT REBECCA MINKOFF

• At the Rebecca Minkoff show actress (and March 2011 Maxim cover model) Michelle Trachtenberg looked unfussy-eclectic in a simple crewneck sweater, over-the-knee boots and a long statement necklace.

FASHION SHOW: MARA HOFFMAN

• Hippy-dippy accessories (turbans, John Lennon shades, etc.) gave Mara Hoffman's fall collection a serious bohemian vibe.

• Our personal fave is this slouchy, wrap sweater dress. Cute, right?

• Hard to see, but worth mentioning: to go along with the dark color palette, the models fingertips were dipped in black dye. Weird, but cool.

• Check out caftans, knits, and other cool looks from the collection here.

BACKSTAGE BEAUTY: EYE GLITTER AT VENA CAVA

• The mantra, "a little goes a long way," did not apply at Vena Cava's fall runway show, where makeup artists covered models' lids and bottom lash lines with LOADS of multi-colored glitter.

• Sparkly makeup can quickly and easily go all wrong (hence, the models steady tilted head and hair clips). But Vena Cava teamed the princess-grunge makeup look with leather toppers, suede jackets, and platforms, making it SO right.

FRONT ROW CELEB: BRYANBOY AT RACHEL COMEY

• Fashion blogger Bryanboy arrived at the Rachel Comey fashion show in black leggings, a fuzzy-collared fur coat (tons of attendees have been rocking fur, by the way), a gray striped tee, and 3-D-style sunglasses. But the crowning jewel of his ensemble was his curly fro wig.

FASHION SHOW: STEVEN ALAN

• Designer Steven Alan made us want to be nerds (because, you know, we're not) with his fall collection of tweed blazers, scholarly topcoats and striped rompers.

• Whoever styled this show = layering genius.

• Check out the detailing on Alan's pieces—the side buttons on the romper, the fading on the striped leggings. We like. We like.

BEAUTY MOMENT: ALMOST-BLACK NAIL POLISH ON MODELS AT NICHOLAS K

• Just when we thought dark lacquer was outta here...

Pattie Yankee (a celeb manicurist for Dashing Diva with a cool name) created two custom colors for Nicholas K, a deep hunter green and brown with gold flecks polishes.

• P.S. The flatform boots that this model is wearing are killer!

FRONT ROW CELEB: KATRINA BOWDEN IN THE FRONT ROW AT BCBG MAX AZRIA

30 Rock's Katrina Bowden looked too cute at the BCBG Max Azria show, wearing a high-waist miniskirt, puff-sleeved top and black booties. And the pop of candy apple red on her nails is perfection.

• Is the girl sitting beside Katrina with the pretty pink lipstick Tika Sumpter (the actress who plays Raina Thorpe on Gossip Girl)?

Nicky Hilton, Heidi Klum, and Louise Roe celebrate Lucky's March 2011 issue on Feb. 3, 2011.
Photo: Donato Sardella/WireImage

We're only halfway through winter, but spring was in the air last Thursday as celebrities descended upon the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood for Lucky's March 2011 launch party. A handful of fashionable femmes pulled out their prettiest above-the-knee prints for the affair, including March cover girl Heidi Klum, who rocked a fuchsia Rachel Roy shift with strappy Jimmy Choo sandals. Meanwhile, Nicky Hilton opted for a one-shoulder blue number with a thick black waistband, which she wore with black pumps. Fashion journalist Louise Roe went for a tribal look in a flowy green dress and chained headpiece.

Pair of Kings star Kelsey Chow's blue frock had a big circular pattern, which balanced the shorter shift nicely, while Community's Gillian Jacob looked glam in a strapless navy, silver and yellow dress. Actress Izabella Miko looked all-out girly in a coral, three-quarter-sleeve dress, which she paired with a thick white belt. If you weren't itching for warmer temps by now, this spring fashion sneak peek probably did the job.

Taylor Momsen at the Tokidoki x Onitsuka Tiger launch in West Hollywood on Oct. 26, and a model at the Nina Ricci Spring Summer 2011 fashion show during Paris Fashion Week.
Photo: Getty Images

It felt a little like déjà vu when we read this recent Lucky magazine post about red smoky eye shadow, which was dusted on models' lids at Nina Ricci’s spring runway show, being the hottest thing since sliced bread. We’ve seen those ruby-rimmed peepers before (and we even wrote about 'em)! Taylor Momsen went red while hosting the Tokidoki X Onitsuka Tiger Sneaker collaboration launch party on Oct. 26. Remember, this look is pegged as a Spring 2011 makeup must-try, so Taylor was 145 days ahead of the trend (in case you’re keeping count). We may never get down with the red eye—it looks...itchy—but kudos to Ms. Momsen for being on top of her makeup game.

Kelly Osbourne at the Golden Globe Awards on Jan. 16, the Art Of Elysium "Heaven" Gala on Jan. 15, at the American Music Awards on Nov. 21.

E! Fashion Police cohost Kelly Osbourne is the new face of Madonna’s and her daughter Lourdes' Material Girl clothing line, replacing Gossip Girl/The Pretty Reckless frontwoman Taylor Momsen. Do you see the style resemblance? Yeah, we don't either. Sure, they both love fashion, but what they call cool is completely different. Just check out the glaring differences between the celebs' most recent ensembles. Kelly's look is feminine chic with a dose of Old Hollywood glamour thrown in for good measure. Meanwhile, Taylor gravitates toward fishnets and kohl eyeliner, for a personal style that screams rock star grunge/trashy chic/"And...WHAT?!". Our guess is that Madonna and Lourdes wanted more yin and less yang going forward with their fashion line. But, don't cry for Ms. Momsen—she's still got John Galliano.

Models, including Zombie Boy (center), walk the runway at the Thierry Mugler menswear fashion show during Paris Fashion Menswear Week on Jan. 19.
Photo: Karl Prouse/Catwalking/Getty Images

See the male runway models in the photos above, including the two face-covered specimens and the one Zombie Boy (yep, the tats are real)? Those guys were a few of the fellas picked to walk the runway for French fashion house Thierry Mugler's premiere men's ready-to-wear fall/winter collection, which was shown during Paris Fashion Week on Jan. 19. So, Mugler had his provocative ensembles and the hot boys to wear them, but what about a subversive club jam to tie it all together? That's where Lady Gaga came in. The pop star was asked by the brand's creative director Nicola Formichetti, who also styled Gaga's "Alejandro" video, to serve as musical director at Mugler's menswear show. Lady G was game (of course), and now we can't help but think that we'll be hearing a lot more Gaga-created tunes on future runways. But, you be the judge.
