Despite the familiar Disney faces in Spring Breakers (Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, and even Ashley Benson, by way of ABC Family, all have history with The Mouse), we're not expecting the movie to be anything like the shiny, sparkly happy endings we're used to watching these ladies act out. On the contrary, we're expecting something much closer to director Harmony Korine's first forays into film-making: Kids and Gummo. The reality of just how gritty some of our favorite on-screen good girls become for this film has been a slow reveal. Between Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle tees and motorized scooters on-set and cheeky swimsuit snaps in magazine promo shots, the film's leading ladies have generally kept their Spring Break steez off the red carpet (Exhibit A: the cast's glamorous and ladylike Venice togs). That is, until now. Judging from Ashley, Selena, Vanessa, and Rachel Korine's Paris premiere ensembles, it looks like the girls are starting to rep Spring Break skin on the step-and-repeats, as well!

The road to Oscar weekend has been a long one— we've already made pit stops at The Screen Actors' Guild Awards, The Golden Globes, and others along the way— but there's still one more celebration that needs to happen before all the movie madness goes down on February 24. We're talking about the Costume Designers Guild Awards, where the creative geniuses behind the coolest clothes in film and TV get honored for their work. Obviously this is a HUGE DEAL, so to get psyched up for the event, we'll be chatting with nominees about the stories, inspiration, and challenges behind some of our absolute favorite outfits. Kicking off the series is Judianna Makovsky, who crafted all of the outfits in The Hunger Games, from Katniss' hunting look, to Effie Trinket's candy-colored frocks, to that iconic fire dress. Get the scoop below!
Quvenzhané Wallis says puppy purses are "her signature."

This year's littlest Oscars Best Actress nominee, Quvenzhané Wallis, initially captured our hearts in the riveting indie Beasts of the Southern Wild, and as we've soldiered on through awards season, she's caught our eye as a rising style star. Her red carpet steez strays infrequently from her go-to cocktail frock + shiny flats + curls, but one style element that's definitely a constant in her public appearance outfits is: a plushy puppy purse! During a recent stint on The Ellen Show, Quvenzhané revealed to DeGeneres that she has "about 20" different puppy purses, and confirmed that she will be toting one at this month's Academy Awards. "Yes, of course," she told Ellen, "That's my signature! I've had this since Utah." Utah! She's referring, of course, to last year's Sundance Film Festival when and where Beasts premiered.
When we first saw James Franco in character for Spring Breakers (via Selena Gomez's long-lost Instagram account), truthfully, we thought it was loosely based on Kevin Federline. Leave it to our buddies at Fuse and their direct line to Riff Raff to set us straight: the most notorious From G's To Gents alum claims to be the muse of this Harmony Korine flick's leading dude. As much as we'd wanted a resurrection of Popozao, this revelation was much, much better. Now that the trailer's out and there's a much more concrete release date (Spring Breakers opens March 22 in New York and Los Angeles and nationwide on March 29), Fuse caught Riff Raff for another quick touchbase. Spoiler alert: it's golden.

We still have a ways to go (over three months!) until Baz Luhrmann's epic film rendition of The Great Gatsby hits theaters on May 10, but thanks to Miuccia Prada, legendary design mind behind Prada and Miu Miu, we have four new sketches of the movie's wardrobe. According to Vogue, Miuccia drew inspiration from archival Prada and Miu Miu styles for the 40+ looks she collaborated on with Gatsby costume designer Catherine Martin, and this idea of making new what is old (or rather, classic and deeply historical) is central to Luhrmann's work with this modernized telling of Gatsby (and Romeo + Juliet, too!).

After almost a YEAR of built-up anticipation via paparazzi shots and Instagram snaps, we're finally getting to see some footage from Harmony Korine's Spring Breakers. We've pulled ourselves out of the *deeeeep inhale and then monstrous yawn* daybreak hours, the legendary director is finally letting us see the trailer. As we imagined from the teaser photos of the girls getting arrested and wielding guns and ski masks, the movie's PYT stars Selena Gomez, Ashley Benson, Vanessa Hudgens, and Rachel Korine unfurl before your eyes into gritty, grimey characters like you've never seen them before.
Riff Raff-channeling James Franco makes his grand entrance just before the minute mark and Gucci Mane follows soon after. While we still have yet to see how rumored co-star Heather Morris will play out in this story, the trailer is simultaneously tiding us over and amping up our excitement for the movie's official release. Mark your calendars, y'all: Spring Breakers opens March 22 in New York and Los Angeles and nationwide on March 29.
On the inescapable (for us, anyway) style side of things, the trailer is also helping us beat the winter blahs with its Spring Break wardrobe realness. We all agreed that shopping for swimsuits in January was pushing the calendar a little bit, but we did track down some of the movie's style essentials so you can cop the Spring Breakers look now. You're welcome!
Keira Knightley as 'Anna Karenina'

Fashion and movies go together like Mary-Kate and Ashley, Rita Ora and her sneaks, and sample sales and long lines,. In other words, PERFECTLY. And it's tough to find a film that epitomizes this closerthanclose connection between the two than Joe Wright's big screen adaption of Anna Karenina, which opens this weekend. The Hollywood version of Leo Tolstoy's classic 1877 novel intertwines all the drama of the original (love, gossip, betrayal? Consider us sold.) with thoroughly modern touches like a seriously theatrical overtone and a glamorous sheen that's evident from the intricate hats all the way down to the floor-skimming skirts. But while it's all predictably gorgeous on the outside, we wanted to get the FULL story behind Keira Knightley and co.'s movie outfits. So we hopped on the phone with the film's costume designer, Jacqueline Durran, who called in from L.A. to give us all the answers...

A scene from 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower.'

You guys, The Perks Of Being A Wallflower is opening this weekend! OK, so you probably knew that already- but after months of waiting, re-reading the Chbosky classic, and following Logan Lerman, Ezra Miller, and Emma Watson through every interview, red carpet, and MTV First, we can't believe it's all finally happening. We're waiting until tonight to see it all go down on the big screen, but in anticipation of the HUGE, SURE TO BE EPIC film, we've used all of our pent-up Perks energy for another worthy cause, and that's how to dress like Emma's character Sam in the flick. As the strong-minded senior (and Charlie's dreamgirl crush), she has some seriously awesome statement outfits. We've been obsessing over her navy and white varsity jacket ever since we first spotted it in the film's trailer forever ago, and luckily for us, there are TONS of options to choose from. Everyone from adidas to Topshop to Abercrombie have their own take on the collegiate staple, but leave it to Forever21 to release a jacket that's the spitting image of Sam's. And at just $22, there's really no reason NOT to buy it.
Vanessa Hudgens, Selena Gomez, Rachel Korine, and Ashley Benson at the "Spring Breakers" Venice premiere.

The official release date for Spring Breakers (STILL) hasn't been set yet, but the film's grand premiere at the 2012 Venice Film Festival can only indicate it can't be that far off. Granted, we'll probably be waiting well into the new year, but seeing Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson, and Rachel Korine lope down the red carpet in the anticipated flick's name (oh yea, James Franco and director Harmony Korine were there, too) has us writhing in our desk chairs with all sorts of stomach butterflies for the impending theater debut. The PYTs looked RAVISHING, as expected, and though we may be twiddling our thumbs until we finally get a taste of the movie itself, we're more than content with the four-part fashion parade that's surely right around the corner with the film's international promo tour. Let's take a closer look at the Venice kick-off and these leading ladies' first set of red carpet premiere outfits!
