The friendzone: it's a real thing, you guys. And while we certainly can't speak for all the dudes and ladies out there, this platonic, perpetual side-hug relationship status is not usually a desirable place to be. At least that's how it is for Toby Miller, the constantly friendzoned protagonist in the new flick Ladies Man: A MADE Movie. Based on the namesake MTV series that helps normal kids achieve their goals of being fashion designers, sports stars, and more with the help of a pro coach, this fictional feature-length special premieres TONIGHT on MTV at 9/8c. So will Toby finally shake his brotherly persona and be transformed into a stud (or, as he so eloquently puts it, "a man whore")? We'll have to tune in to find out! But before all that goes down tonight, we've got a couple of fashion tips right now to help Toby get a head start in his escape out of the friend zone. Ready, set, go!

Breathe, everyone. Get ready. There are A LOT of things we need to talk about with regards to the latest trailer for The Great Gatsby so we want you to be prepared. Baz Lurmann's epic adaptation of the great American novel is one of the most anticipated films of the year, and with its release date rapidly approaching (May 10th, so soon so soon) our excitement is heading into fever pitch territory. We've already learned that the men in the film--none other than the great Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, and Joel Edgerton—will be outfitted by Brooks Brothers, and that the ladies, most importantly Carey Mulligan's Daisy Buchanan, will be dressed by Miuccia Prada. Vogue got their hands on some exclusive sketches of the Prada looks, so naturally we had our eyes peeled for them when the brand new trailer dropped yesterday. Besides featuring a snippet of Beyonce's cover of "Back to Black" by Amy Winehouse, the trailer also has new songs from Lana Del Rey and Florence And The Machine, but the INCREDIBLE soundtrack isn't what we're here to discuss, is it? No, we're here to discuss the AMAZING DRESSES on Carey Mulligan. Deep breaths, it's going to be ok. The trailer features more than SEVEN looks, and those are just the ones we can get a good look at.

A look from The Great Gatsby.

We already know that The Great Gatsby is all about opulence, with the title character's quest for a magical life at the forefront of the narrative, and Mulligan's costumes reflect that desire in their exquisite details and luxurious fabrication. Her first look in the trailer isn't one that we recognize from the Prada sketches, but it could very possibly be one of Miuccia's creations. Dusty purple lace covers Mulligan like a springtime spiderweb, and wisps of fabric bloom from her shoulders like flower petals. While the dress is only visible from the waist up, a blue sash is visible. We're incredibly curious as to the cut of the rest of the dress, and unfortunately the trailer only affords us that one look.

Opening Ceremony x 'Spring Breakers' lookbook.

Just in case the shoes, the clothes, and, ya know, THE MOVIE ITSELF weren't enough, here's yet another reason to get pumped up about "Spriiiiiing Breaaaak!" The good people over at Opening Ceremony have just rolled out a spanking new lookbook for the retailer's Spring Breakers-themed collection, and it's every bit as sundrenched and scandalous as we'd expect. Shot by photographer Annabel Mehran, the glimmering shoot showcases the pieces we've already obsessed over from the OC x Spring Breakers capsule, styled with a few bonus items from brands like Rihanna for River Island and more. Not surprisingly, we want it ALL.

Ladies And Gentlemen, The Fabulous Stains

All of us at some point or another have fallen in love with a movie so deeply, we've wanted to become the characters. Whether that means buying a Drive scorpion jacket or having a sudden affinity for neon short shorts, pink ski masks, and a Britney Spears slow jam sesh in the bedroom mirror (Spriiiiing Breeeeak, y'all!), the right alchemy of cinematic sound, feel, and badassery can be stylishly transformative. While there are more than a few current films worthy of style stealing, I'm interested in pinpointing the cult flicks of yesteryear. You know, the ones that birthed the choker necklace (i.e. anything in the '90s) or spawned the thigh-high and plaid skirt revolution (see also the '90s). First up is one of the coolest and most iconic punk rock girl power movies EVER made—Ladies and Gentlemen the Fabulous Stains. Though barely released in 1982, there's something so timeless and NOW about this story of a teen girl band that fools the world and themselves, that you'll find yourself considering red eyeshadow, an oversized beret, and a Gaga-style no-pants look for every day. Also? A skunk mullet.

Spring breakers opening ceremony

Never mind the fact that we're still dealing with the aftermath of a freaking SNOWSTORM here in New York City right now...for the past few months, our brains have been in full summer mode, flooded with neon, bikinis, and warm weather dreaming thanks to Spring Breakers. And when we learned last week that Opening Ceremony was teaming up with the film's costume designer on a collection inspired by the flick (!!!), it made this winter denial even easier and our obsession with the Harmony Korine flick that much more intense. But here's the good news: we don't have to wait long to sport these hoodies, bracelets, towels, and beachwear, because the collection officially lands at OC this Friday. Oh, and as a bonus, we've got a sneak peek of the goods right here!

Spring Breakers Nail Art

Photo: Via Pretty Nail Swag

Sorry to say this, but we're jerks. We've seen Spring Breakers before its official theater release this Friday, and we cannot stop thinking about it. Here's why: It stars good-girls-gone-bad Selena Gomez, Ashley Benson, Vanessa Hudgens and Rachel Korine who are so desperate to get away from their college town that they'll do whatever it takes to get money to go on spring break. (And we mean anything, see: guns, ski masks.) Oddly enough, we can sort of relate because, um, it's DISMAL outside, and we're straight-up dreaming of sunny beaches, cut-off shorts, flip-flops—and a little adventure. But instead of, erm, committing crimes to get our spring break fix, we're doing the next best thing—painting our nails! From the trailers, paparazzi sightings, and movie posters, you can already tell it won't be your typical spring break movie, so sit back and relax while we explain why these manicures are the most badass (and beach ready!) manis you need to cop ASAP. Up first—a neon green and pink stiletto set that perfectly mixes together downright illegal criminal activity and SPRING BREAAKKKK!! WOOOOOOO! The gold bullet is a nice touch, too.

Spring Breakers

Selena Gomez, Ashley Benson, Rachel Korine and Vanessa Hudgens in a still from 'Spring Breakers.'
Photo: 'Spring Breakers' Facebook page

Full disclosure: ever since we caught an early screening of Spring Breakers on Monday, we literally haven't been able to get Harmony Korine's neon-washed, crazy-sexy-violent action flick out of our heads. But along with being firmly planted in our minds and under our skin (in a good way), it's looking like this movie is going to invade our CLOSETS soon, too, with a new Opening Ceremony collection! Hot on the heels (heh) of Supra's Spring Breakers sneakers, this morning WWD reported that OC is rolling out a line of mesh jerseys, sweatshirts, sweatpants, cropped T-shirts, bikinis, and beach towels inspired by the film. In other words, it's pretty much everything our girls Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson, and Rachel Korine sport onscreen, and the goods conveniently coincide with the movie's nationwide release on March 22.

Ryan Gosling The PLace Beyond The Pines

We hope y'all have been saving up some SERIOUS cash because we have a stellar reason throw down some dollars: Ryan Gosling. Before you start hyperventilating, here's what we mean: Ryan plays a badass motorcycle stuntman in an upcoming flick called The Place Beyond the Pines. Obvi this means he'll be sporting TONS of tee, jeans, and leather jacket ensembles in the film, and we're lucky enough to able to swipe one of them up straight from the set! Profiles in History will put Ryan's iconic red leather jacket up for auction on their site starting March 29, and part of the proceeds will help benefit Variety - The Children's Charity of Southern California. (And you thought your love of Ryan Gosling would go to waste.)

Supra spring breakers harmony korine

Supra x Harmony Korine's 'Spring Breakers' sneakers.

If you've seen the trailer for Spring Breakers as embarrassingly many times as we have (read: more than a dozen), then you're WELL AWARE that Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson, and Rachel Korine spend about 90% of the movie in college girl-on-vacay- essentials like bikinis, tank tops, and sneakers. But even if you're not lucky enough to be hitting the beach anytime soon, that's ok— Supra's making sure that you can nab the Spring Breakers look right this second with its brand new style of kicks. The shoe company has joined forces with the film's director Harmony Korine on a limited-edition lowtop inspired by the flick...and judging from the collective gasp heard thoughtout the MTV Style office when we first spotted them, we haven't been THIS excited about a collab in a reallyyy long time.

Emma Watson and her castmates shooting The Bling Ring.
Photo: Splash

Emma Watson makes an excellent ringleader. I don't know about in real life, but in the movies at least, our girl Emma excels at playing characters with that electric combination of gumption and sweetness that makes her both the best friend and the girl everyone falls in love with. This seems to be the case for her character in the Sofia Coppola-directed Hollywood heist movie The Bling Ring, which comes out June 14th, although we suspect she might be coming up a touch short with regards to the sweetness part. In the film, Emma plays the ringleader of a group of teenagers who are running around the more tony parts of Los Angeles ransacking celebrities homes, like adolescent cat burglars caught on high-end security cameras. This might sound a lot like another teens-turned-to-crime film that's been on our minds lately, but unlike that other movie, The Bling Ring is based on a true story, and one that happened not too long ago. In the teaser, which opens with one of the girls smilingly suggesting, "let's go shopping," shows the kids pillaging a fancy closet of its coats, jewels, and lacy underthings, and then going on to do all kinds of wreckless bad kid stuff, from dirty dancing in the club to wearing sunglasses inside. There's also the suggestion of some REALLY bad stuff, with guns and tears and police, but the trailer doesn't give much away. Don't take our word for it, though, watch after the jump!
