Jeremy Scott's Autumn/Winter 2013 Collection.
Photo: Getty

You know how poltergeists haunt teens because they're attracted to the youth's SUPERCHARGED angst-laden energy? Well, Jeremy Scott was similarly drawn to the interaction betwixt ghouls and hormones if his monster-mashed up collection for AW 2013 gives any indication. There were ectoplasmic spatters, exposed brains and veiny, exploding eyeballs decorating sweaters that were complemented by Jack Skellington from A Nightmare Before Christmas-esque trousers and matching lace-up boots set to Beastie Boys' rambunctious "GIRLS." The scowling (yet ever lovely) Cara Delevigne marched out in creeper-soled sneaker-boots with a pointy Lydia Deetz up-do and a sweater featuring a wart-riddled, teeth-baring visage. There was also a healthy dose of amped-up, psychedelic punk-rock-meets-ska motifs by way of a neon two-tone, checkered boot under a floaty, fractal-ish skirt anchored by a black, scoop-neck jumper emblazoned with the graffiti'd words: TOO WEIRD TO LIVE. Word.

Proenza Schouler Fall 2013

Looks from the Proenza Schouler fall 2013 New York Fashion Week show on Feb. 13.
Photo: Getty Images

Every season when Proenza Schouler's show rolls around, we always get pumped to see Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez's astounding asymmetrical pieces, and this year was no different. They decided to do the total opposite to the bold and bright pieces they showed for spring 2013 by completely sucking ALL the color out of their fall 2013 line. The models were sent down the runway in super unsaturated hues of light blue, mint green and pink tossed in with tons of crisp white and solid black. We loved how they combined a '60s silhouette of broad, round-shouldered jackets with futuristic fabrics. Some of our favorite looks from the collection included a new take on the traditional wrap dress, which left part of the shoulder peeking through the top of the frock.

Asher Levine fall 2013

Looks from the Asher Levine fall 2013 collection.
Photo: Getty Images

Oooh, Asher Levine. Every season we look forward to seeing the 24-year-old designer's collection for a multitude of reasons: 1.) He has created ensembles for some of our most favorite celebs (think Rita Ora and Lady Gaga); 2.) He always busts out the most badass, goth-meets-classic-tailored-menswear looks; and 3.) He's ALL about the music. He said this season was inspired by composer and producer Jim Steinman (who created hits like "Total Eclipse of the Heart" and "I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)") mixed with a dark obsession of bats and skulls. For the show, DJ Mess Kid took these songs and created his own, one-of-a-kind soundtrack for the models to walk to (which you can hear a sample of here), but the coolest part of his collection were the parts you couldn't see.

Ahhh, New York Fashion Week. We're so close to the end. From Rebecca Minkoff to Marc by Marc, we've loved every minute of you, but we think the honeymoon period this season is juuuust about over and it's getting to that point in our relationship when things get a little difficult. It's totally fine and normal and expected with every relationship, and rest assured, we'll be giddy with excitement come your return in September, but for now, we've rounded up a few of the most difficult (difficult for mobility, difficult to fathom, difficult to see yourself realistically wearing, etc.) outfits from your offerings this week in honor of these turbulent times.

SPATIALLY DIFFICULT

Thom Browne, Chromat

Looks from the Thom Browne and Chromat Fall 2013 New York Fashion Week shows.

This gray-blue patchwork coat number from Thom Browne and this rectangular white cage by Chromat (the same line behind Beyonce's Super Bowl backup dancers' outfits!!) are pretty equal in their spatial difficulty. For the record, we here at MTV Style LOVE both of these labels, but these particular pieces give us more "art piece" vibes than "ready to wear." Both have strong shoulders exaggerated to the point of turning the entire garment into a polygon. The Thom Browne is probably more difficult to get through certain doorways (wider, less pliable through its width), the Chromat we imagine as difficult to sit in comfortably.

Willow Smith at Narciso Rodriguez and Michael Kors.
Photo: Getty

Move over Tavi, because there's a new fashion wunderkind in town! Ok so maybe nobody's competing here, but Willow Smith is definitely stepping up her already A+ fashion game. The 12 year old singer/actress is attending her first ever New York Fashion Week with mother Jada Pinkett-Smith this week, popping up at the Narciso Rodriguez and Michael Kors at Lincoln Center. We're actually surprised that this is Willow's first NYFW, given her amazing style (and not just for a tween) and her fashion blog, but better not-late-at-all than never. If this is the style Willow is rolling into shows with at 12, can you IMAGINE what it's going to be like when she's 16? 18? 21? We'll all be bowing at her feet, if we aren't confined to walkers by then, that is. For her first appearance, Willow wore a baby lamb track jacket, illustrated tee, black skinny sweatpants, combat boots, and an electric neon satchel. She gave just the right amount of petulant for someone her age, sassing the camera with a cotton candy pink pout. She switched it up at Michael Kors, trading her almost-all-black look for a classic white moto jacket with gold studs, studded boots, cropped leather pants, and an AMAZING gold top with conical spikes coming out of the fabric (a la Florence Welch at the Grammys). She paired this look with a white satchel and an Eye of Providence necklace. Killer. Is it weird that we're totally taking outfit notes from a 12 year old? but do you really think this girl went to the shows without nail art? Come on! Check out Willow's fashion week mani after the jump!

Shateria Moragne-El

Shateria Moragne-El takes her final bow at FrontRow.
Photo: Getty Images

You might know Shateria Moragne-el from her work as a talented stylist. Or even perhaps as Rick Ross's rumored main lady. But you should know that Shateria has translated her eye for style into a banner transition to design. Her line, FrontRow, just presented and celebrated its Fall 2013 collection, fittingly with a star-studded front row. The Mastermind Rozay attended (who BTW was clad in a custom FrontRow peacoat with a croc lapel) as did Waka Flocka Flame. After a parade of covetable and UNDOUBTEDLY expensive ensembles dripping in leather and plushy furs, we actually got a chance to chat with Shateria about her creations!

Here's what you can expect with The Blonds: A) that the show will ALWAYS be LATE. B) that it won't matter a WHIT because the comings and goings of the SPECTACULARLY glamorous audience will be ceaselessly captivating. And finally, C) that the over-the-top offerings of tow-haired twosome Phillipe and David will rigorously follow a theme. Debbie Harry was there. So was Patrick MacDonald. Less expected was Trina. She was lovely.

It seems that The Blonds were in an Old Hollywood mood. Not in the cascading curls, soft lighting, bias-cut charmeuse evening gowns sort of way, mind you. More slasher-flick villains by way of Hitchcock and Kubrick. A printed polyurethane corset and skirt featured Jack's grinning mug peering through the splintered door from The Shining. Just as Janet Leigh's screaming visage was step-and-repeated for the torso of another look. There were teeny, glinting, acrylic knives dangling as jewelry and printed onto a kicky '50s housewife dress as well as skintight, flesh colored bustier gowns anointed with angry red slashes throughout. Definitely expect a follow-up post on the nail art because they were as outrageous and gore-adoring as the rest of it.

Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus and Tish Cyrus at Rachel Zoe's runway show today.
Photo: Getty Images

Oh HEY, Miley Cyrus! We've been wondering where the pop star would touch down during Fashion Week ever since she first hinted on Twitter she'll be attending the shows. But despite our prediction that she'd cruise straight to London, turns out the singer made a pit stop in New York City! She sat front row at pal Rachel Zoe's show this morning alongside her mom Tish and Cosmopolitan editor-in-chief Joanna Coles — which actually makes TOTAL sense considering Miley is the mag's newest cover girl. Oh, and did we mention she looks killer? Because she does. Miley may have had some wardrobe issues pre-trip, but judging from her red hot Rachel Zoe jumpsuit, clearly she got 'em sorted out.

Katharine McPhee, Aly Raisman and Shay Mitchell

Katharine McPhee, Aly Raisman, and Shay Mitchell attend shows at New York Fashion Week.
Photo: Getty Images

Is it just us, or has this Fashion Week flown by? We can already see the finish line of what's felt like a marathon, more than a sprint, but we're not slowing down yet. Neither are the celebs of course, who seem to have more stamina than us, looking primped and sitting pretty in every front row while we are hanging by the skin of our fashion creds. Smash star Katharine McPhee looked lovely checking out the Alice + Olivia presentation, wearing a strapless white peplum top and matching skirt with minimal makeup. Olympian Aly Raisman took some time away from the gym to attend the Jenny Packham show, where she sat alongside Vanessa Hudgens (who we also spied earlier this week at the Chloe Sevigny x Opening Ceremony presentation). Aly showed off her toned muscles wearing a loose white dress and bronze strappy sandals. And over at Naeem Khan, Pretty Little Liars star Shay Mitchell looked ladylike in a beautiful beaded frock. Be sure to check out all of the celebs at New York Fashion Week after the jump!

lil kim new york fashion week

Lil Kim walks the Reality of Fashion, The Reality of AIDS fall 2013 fashion show in New York on Feb. 9.
Photo: Getty Images

Let's be real for a minute, y'all—we need more Lil Kim in our lives. Luckily, though, every New York Fashion Week (without fail!) our girl Kimmy Blanco will make some sort of stunning appearance. Last season she performed at Opening Ceremony's 10 year anniversary party, and before that she showed off her feathery self at The Blonds. This year we hit the jackpot by getting to peep Ms. Kim actually walk in a fashion show! The Reality of Fashion, The Reality of AIDS show features celebrities as runway models to help benefit AIDS United. Dominique Auxilly designed all the pieces, and Lil Kim absolutely KILLED. IT. in her look. She sported a strappy leather harness and lace gown with a RIDIC chiffon train and dangly silver earrings. Also, she smized so hard we could barely even handle it. #DEAD
