Virtually no one has taken the mixed print trend and run with it farther than J.Crew. Come at me with a competitor — I dare you. The Jenna Lyons/Mickey Drexler one-two sartorial punch has been wielding the pattern-heavy steez for season after season after season, and this morning's Fall 2013 New York Fashion Week presentation was no exception. With this collection, the brand is pushing their arsenal of prints, building on top of their go-to preppy brocade, houndstooth, and ditsy floral, adding nods to Moroccan zillij tiling, Turkish kilim rugs, and not shying away from the occasional animal print. The interesting part about this season, though, is that, with patterns being the new normal, J.Crew has seized this opportunity to make statements with solids. So much activity piled together begs for a moment of simplicity. Enter neon orange trousers. Or an over-sized clutch. Or a baby pink cable knit. Or classic point-toe pumps. Or...you get the idea.

Miley Cyrus Fashion Week

Miley Cyrus announced on Twitter that she'll be attending Fashion Week.

Fashion Week, we hope you're ready for Miley Cyrus, because she's coming your way! While we've been buried in show coverage, band interviews, and tracking each and every moment of New York Fashion Week for you guys, Miley slipped in a piece of news about her own FW plans. The singer tweeted yesterday: "Fashion week packing ahhhh!" along with the photo of her clothes strewn across her floor. First of all, it's comforting to see that even pop stars aren't immune to those "I have nothing to wear!" moments. But more importantly, WHICH Fashion Week is Miley attending?! Considering the New York arm of the four-city whirlwind winds up on Thursday, she'll have to get here—FAST— before the shows begin in London.

Karen Walker

A English punk soundtrack goes well with just about anything, but especially if you're lucky enough to be blasting it while rocking Karen Walker's boxy jackets, pleated skirts, and the rest of her Fall wares. The New Zealand designer's message came in loud and clear yesterday at her New York Fashion Week runway show, where she took cues from '70s punk rockers The Damned in her aptly titled "New Rose" collection (named after their 1976 single). Art school touches like dripping rose print motifs, highlighter yellow details and zig zag sweaters collided with collegiate staples such as pinafore dresses, slouchy socks and trench coats for an explosion of kooky cool that we want to inject into our closets immediately. Models worked messy ponytails and shaggy, mussed-up bobs as they strutted down the runway to Siouxsie Sioux and The Damned, upping the rebellious rock 'n roll ante in Walker's rad frames.

Marc by Marc Jacobs fall 2013

Good news, friends: This fall is ALL about color. Mara Hoffman and Rebecca Minkoff have already shown tons of killer bright, printed pieces, and last night Marc by Marc Jacobs added another bold collection to our autumn mix. The ladies sported super saturated red/pink and navy/teal '60s-inspired ensembles (think: baggy clam diggers, Mod turtlenecks, and sky-high mini frocks) with equally awe-inducing hair. Some of favorite looks included a zig-zag floral print jumpsuit (hi, Cara Delevingne!), a maroon and crimson geometric satin tee and pencil skirt, and an AMAZING blue and black graphic print turtleneck dress. For their beauty game, all models sported a super shiny red lip with larger-than-life curly bobs complete with a victory roll in the front. PERF.

Olivia Palermo, Holland Roden and Sammi Sweetheart

Although we've noticed a slight lack of star power sitting in the front row due to winter storm NEMO's wrath, celebs are still braving the wintry mix to get a glimpse of the Fall 2013 runways this Fashion Week—including our favorite MTV stars. Outfitted in fur and swaddled in coats, a little cold can't stop these girls. The City alum and style maven Olivia Palermo showed up to the Noon by Noor show in a cozy sweater, long rust-colored skirt and warm fur vest. After attending the Charlotte Ronson show and celebrating Chloe Moretz's 16th birthday, Teen Wolf star Holland Roden joined PYT's Shenae Grimes and Coco Rocha at the Rebecca Minkoff show. Holland paired her bright patterned dress with an ultra chic oversized blazer. After debuting her fitness collection last season, Sammi Sweetheart decided to take in a few shows this week (perhaps looking for a little design inspiration?). We spotted her at the CZAR show, balancing a feminine lace dress with a tough leather jacket and black booties. Be sure to see all of the celebs at New York Fashion Week after the jump!

Betsey Johnson leading her models in their workout.
Photo: Getty

Last New York Fashion Week, we celebrated Betsey Johnson's 70th birthday with a retrospective show, and it was MAJOR. This year, however, the cartwheel queen took a totally different approach, debuting her new dress line with what a pre-show press release promised would be a classic runway show with a secret theme. As the lights dimmed and the music came up on the backlit pink runway, with the mysterious "BJ Kicks A" emblazoned at the end of it, we still had no idea what was about to go down. However, an announcer came over the speakers and told us that we would be seeing the debut of Betsey Johnson's new aerobics program AND her workout line. The aforementioned press release ALSO said that Johnson's bags, shoes, and jewelry would be worn, so with this new development we knew we were in for a doozy of a show. As the models began walking down the runway, they mimed talking onto cell phones, doing flirty kicks and winks, and generally being a-dor-able and entirely unlike the dour super serious runway gaze we're used to. The clothes themselves were a mix of workout gear, party dresses, and accessories, all styled together in a wild explosion of colors and layers. If you're trying to imagine all of those things put together, just picture a bright blue tracksuit and hot pink sneaks topped with a faux fur white tie-necked shrug. Honestly, though, it wasn't the new collection that really had everyone talking after the show, it was the very Betsey antics that ensued.

Mark McNairy

If there's one collection that we consistently want to raid every New York Fashion Week, it's that of the designer godsend Mark McNairy. Hands down. Every season. His knack for refreshing wardrobe stand-bys like t-shirts, chinos, and oxfords (the namesake shirts AND shoes) is incredible. His ability to create pieces that are timeless and true to the McNasty spirit while also pumping out collections that look and feel new every single time is uncanny. We like to think that McNairy does this all with such unwavering success because he is built with a superhuman ability that allows him to pull unabashedly from a wealth of influences, sift it all through his distinct personality and filter of wit, then translate those nuggets of so many nebulous inspirations into one eclectic yet cohesive collection season after season after season.

A$AP Rocky

A$AP Rocky closes the Hood By Air Fall 2013 New York Fashion Week show.
Photo: MTV

We can't say that we explicitly knew that A$AP Rocky was going to be walking in yesterday's Hood By Air New York Fashion Week show, but we definitely had a feeling he'd be there in some major capacity. Rocky reps HBA in a very serious, born-from-blood type of way, from name-checking the label in lyrics — "Hood By Air, man, I started that" — to pilfering the brand's closet for nearly his entire "Long.Live.A$AP" music video wardrobe to creating the runway soundtrack for last season's Spring 2013 Hood By Air fashion show. Dat PMF made his allegiance and unequivocal support of HBA and the line's designer, Shayne Oliver, unmistakably clear by making an unannounced guest appearance, emerging from a cloud of dry ice fog to close out the Fall 2013 show.

Karlie Kloss

Karlie Kloss hosted MTV's Grammy Red Carpet last night and walked in Carolina Herrera's runway show this morning.
Photo: Getty Images

We already know that Karlie Kloss is talented, incredibly hardworking, and makes a mean chocolate chip cookie, but last night we learned something new about our House of Style host: she's officially NOT human, you guys! Just mere hours after serving as the Style Correspondent on MTV's Grammy red carpet livestream in L.A., the model hopped on a cross-country redeye and went STRAIGHT from the airport to the Carolina Herrera runway show in New York this morning...which she opened, naturally. **It should be noted that we could barely make it to Times Square this morning, let alone strut down the runway at 10 a.m.** But Karlie being Karlie, she swapped out last night's Michael Kors dress and slipped into Carolina Herrera's black accented floor-length gown without even so much as a YAWN.

Nina Persson performs at Rodebjer's Fall 2013 New York Fashion Week presentation.
Photo: Billy Farrell Agency

Even if you aren't familiar with Rodebjer quite yet, you soon will be. The Swedish label is gaining traction stateside in its own right for trademark strong silhouettes, luxe materials, and a sense of everlasting ease. Part of this timelessness has to do with designer Carin Rodebjer's upbringing —she grew up in the Swedish countryside— and her rural childhood had influence yet again on the Fall 2013 collection. Taking cues from her home on the island of Gotland, the slouchy trousers, oversized sweaters (with a knitted fringe!), and breezy chiffon dresses came in a color palette of nature-y hues like mud, hazelnut, and raw umber. In other words, these cozy-cute clothes were the perfect complement for the snowy Nemo aftermath happening outside...if we could've worn them straight out off the runway, trust us, we would've.
