Anna Wintour, Taylor Swift, Elle Fanning, and Dakota Fanning attend the Rodarte show at New York Fashion Week.

Plenty of designers drop the line that they're designing for a wide variety of people, personalities, and tastes, but none can stake that claim quite as clearly and confidently as Rodarte. With a line that's both feminine and edgy, boundary-pushing and refined, it quite naturally appeals to a gamut of sartorial aesthetics. And today's New York Fashion Week show drew in a diverse celeb crowd. From Taylor Swift sitting surreptitiously next to Vogue Editor In Chief Anna Wintour to Elle and Dakota Fanning in sweet matchy-smatchy papyrus-hued outfits, the stars came OUT for Rodarte.

Herve Leger By Max Azria Spring 2012 New York Fashion Week.
Photo: Getty Images

When ingenues want to pull out all the stops on the ol' red carpet, they usually opt for body-conscious Herve Leger. There's no better way to entice the paparazzi (or show off a three-hour training sesh!) than with one of the label's bandaged (bondaged?) shape-shifting dresses. They're so popular, in fact, that we see them EVERYWHERE now, whether they're the real thing or "inspired" knockoffs of the originals. For spring 2012, designer Max Azria focused on metallics, which were rendered beautifully, as well as light and dark hues and intricate details. Fans such as Ashlee Simpson, Gossip Girl's Jessica Szohr, and LeAnn Rimes sat in the front row ogling dress after shiny dress—head-to-toe looks we can only assume they're imagining will one day be in their futures.

Kelly Osbourne, Victoria Justice, and Alexa Chung at New York Fashion Week.
Photo: Getty Images

As glamorous and exciting as Fashion Week is, it can also be a really stressful, overwhelming time. I mean, amid all the unveilings of trends, the ogling of pretty vestments swiftly traipsing up and down the runways, and the rampant star-spotting, how can you keep up?? You're only human, you know?!! (Note: I hope the intense sarcasm I laced throughout those words is reaching you across the interwebz because those are all definitely things that make this time AMAZING.) If you're at all distraught by the volume of celebrities and all their incredible wardrobe choices throughout this week, like Kelly Osbourne's black and gold getup at the Zac Posen show, Victoria Justice and her super-high top knot, and Alexa Chung in a ruffle-neck blouse and khaki jacket, never fear. We've been keeping track of all the stars' appearances and each fabulous ensemble with a handy-dandy flipbook (updated daily!). Check it out and follow along with us after the jump!

Beyonce Solange Knowles

In case you haven't heard by now (because, really, these words should have been broadcast intercom-style all over Manhattan) someone by the name of, oh, BEYONCÉ made her way through the New York Fashion Week tents today. Yes, Bey-Bey (of our hearts) arrived at the J. Crew presentation this morning looking positively aglow in champagne sequins, her arm around her sister and street-style CHAMPION, Solange Knowles, who looked equally resplendent in the breakout trend for spring 2012, bright pink. The two took in the brand's signature preppy classics, updated for spring in a neon array of color combos and polka-dot and heart-shaped patterns. There were some particularly gobsmacking accessories we wanted to nom-nom up right into our wardrobes immediately, too. Oh, and the multi-striped, sequined maxi skirt topped with a simple denim shirt? Come to Mama!

Jordin Sparks, Michelle Trachtenberg, and Kourtney Kardashian at the Alice + Olivia spring 2012 presentation.

We've FINALLY hit our stride and are smack DASH in the middle of New York Fashion Week. Thus, what better way to keep the festivities going than to attend a garden party—in the middle of a warehouse on 14th Street—and take in beaded confections with a handful of mini cupcakes (aka LUNCH and probably DINNER) in hand? Well, thanks to the Alice + Olivia by Stacey Bendet presentation, we were not only treated to actual sustenance of the Sprinkles variety but also to a star-studded garden of dressed-up delights. Perched atop astroturf platforms and nestled between giant birdcages were all sorts of disco Gatsby wonders. Ms. Bendet covered several themes (and decades) for a collection of feminine looks that we predict will wind up on many a red carpet (and PROM!) next year. Upon arrival, we spied Kourtney Kardashian perusing a group of white dresses, particularly a black and white striped sequin dress that we think would look PERF on her. We also noticed Michelle Trachtenberg eyeing a black, beaded flapper number that we can imagine her Gossip Girl alter ego, Regina Sparks, wearing.

Avril Lavigne during her final bow after her Abbey Dawn Spring 2012 New York Fashion Week show.
Photo: Getty Images

When a musician shows a line at Fashion Week, it's like the heavens opened up and cascaded down a rain of perfect MTV Style situations. When a musician who shows a fashion line ALSO dates an MTV Star and he/she PLUS mega-watt reality TV star family all roll up in attendance, our brains explode all over the place, and we throw up our arms saying we're quitting the internet, but really, it's the perfect storm for everything that turns the cogs of this here operation, so we sneak back to our keyboards to type with matchless vigor. And so, a hyperbolic long-winded intro leads you into our recap of Avril Lavigne's Abbey Dawn Style360 New York Fashion Week show.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Spring 2012 New York Fashion Week.
Photo: Getty Images

It wouldn't be New York Fashion Week without wondering just what Marc Jacobs has up his heavily tattooed sleeve. In a whizz-bang fashion switcheroo, he moved his Marc by Marc Jacobs show earlier in the week and his signature collection later, for a reason people are still in a TIZZ-AY about. (Is he possibly taking over Dior? Is he leaving his signature line? Does he just want to change it up from time to time like any normal person is allowed to?) The Marc method—or, at least how we view his collections every Fashion Week—is to watch the big collection first then guess what the sister line, Marc by Marc, will look like. They almost always reference each other in some way—the luxe collection carrying the main theme (polka dots, pencil skirts, forest green, jungle cats, what have you) into the everyday line. But with the tables turned this year, we have no idea what to expect. If the Marc by Marc collection is any indication, though, the spring MJ gal is going to be stocking her wardrobe with colorful yet MINIMAL pieces (much like Elle Fanning, who arrived wearing a bold, fire-engine red shirt and matching shorts). Oh, yes, and she will also need bird prints, stripes, and a plastic sun visor (obvs).

Asher Levine

Looks from the Spring 2012 Asher Levine show.
Photo: Courtesy of Kat + Duck

We caught up with designer Asher Levine TWICE during fashion week (call us incredibly lucky)—the first time to talk about his exclusive Asher X Nicola collab at Nicola Formichetti's pop-up store in Soho and AGAIN after the much-anticipated spring 2012 menswear show. And whewww, boy! Asher DELIVERED. His mostly black, gray, and dark purple line reflected his inspiration, which he called an "infection in New York City." (Let's just say his invite was "Asher Levine" etched into an alien claw inside a biohazard bag.) His pieces ranged from raw hemmed mesh pants to exposed zipper jumpsuits with veiny Katy Perry "E.T."-esque makeup to create his own "alternate universe."

Nicki Minaj Betsey Johnson

Nicki Minaj and Betsey Johnson backstage at the Spring 2012 Betsey Johnson show.
Photo: Getty Images

Backstage at the Betsey Johnson show for New York Fashion Week was INTENSE. Seriously, it was a 1-to-1 ratio of models + handlers + champagne pourers + makeup artists + hair stylists + to ALL. THE. PRESS. The z-racks were FESTOONED with sequined dresses, flowing florals, animal prints, and a gang of alarmingly tall naked chicks who are apt to give a blogger body dysmorphic disorder if it weren't for the fact that they were lithe and beautiful to the point that they no longer have anything to do with human persons. Plus, it really gives you a whole new appreciation for the tacit agreement that so few images of mammary glands hit the internet because the boobs really do fly in mid-change.

Betsey was holding court like the unflappable OG that she is, graciously stopping for photographs and deftly dodging the mics that people kept trying to javelin her face with, and Nicki Minaj even made an appearance. At that point it was a wildebeest crossing of papps craning to catch a flick, and bully for the ladies who looked radiant and unruffled the whole time.

Also, that's about the time my brain broke because BETSEY JOHNSON AND NICKI MINAJ TOGETHER IS A LOT OF INFORMATION. It just makes me happy that they make each other happy. Anyway, on to the clothes!

Rachel Zoe Spring 2012 New York Fashion Week.
Photo: Gaby Wilson

Before the third syllable can drop at first mention that Rachel Zoe is presenting a new collection at New York Fashion Week, you just know there's no way you're going to be disappointed. The celebrity stylist/reality TV star/designer has made a career out of her incredible knack for knowing what people want, and with a celeb clientele so diversely fabulous, there's almost an unspoken guarantee set in place that, no matter your personal style, there WILL be at least one thing in this collection to which you gravitate.

We hit up Zoe's midtown Spring 2012 presentation this afternoon, and not even two sips into our cucumber aloe drink (sidenote: I know. So swanky, right? *hair flip*) were we totally duh-ROOL-ing over what our eyes beheld before us: strong shouldered blazers, ladylike satchels, and more maxi dresses than days of the week (if you're keeping track, for a 30-look collection, that means, like, ONE THIRD of this whole thang was maxis—YOWZA). But you do what you know, right?
