Rihanna does some casual shopping in Soho.
Photo: Splash News

No shirt, no problem! After partying with Nicki Minaj and Alexander Wang on Saturday night, Rihanna hit the streets of New York’s Soho neighborhood on Sunday for a little back-to-school lingerie shopping at Agent Provocateur, as you do. With only a single button separating Rih from an R-rated (heh) wardrobe malfunction, the singer sported an oversized black letterman jacket and nothing but her tattooed chestplate underneath. In the past, we’ve seen her rock a similar look with an itty-bitty crop-top peeking out, and there’s certainly not much of Miss Fenty we haven’t already seen on her Instagram, but girl! It was really windy in New York yesterday and accidents are bound to happen when the paps are in tow! Although, I guess when you’re carving time out of your day to shop solely for luxury bras, why bother wearing one at all? #HassleFree

Rita Ora

Happy 25th birthday, DKNY! Now you can rent an SUV on your own! With the advent of 2014 (by way of this Spring/Summer-showing New York Fashion Week), Donna Karan's youth-oriented diffusion line embarks on its 25th year of existence since its launch in 1989. Accordingly, the major anniversary show employed its own major surprise: a closing runway walk from forthcoming campaign face and all-around cutie patootie pop star Rita Ora. Sure, celebs sit front row for shows all the time (*achem* was anyone else FLIPPING out about seeing Red Hot Chili Peppers' Anthony Kiedis??), and sure, we already knew that Rita and DK were linked, but does that mean we expected this kind of catwalk cameo? Certainly not.

Looks from Peter Som's Spring 2014 show.
Photos: Getty Images

Serious question: Do we love Peter Som's Spring 2014 line, or do we LOVE Peter Som's Spring 2014 line? I have never been more excited to mix prints in my LIFE, y'all. Solange, girl, you better watch your closet—I'm comin' for ya! Obvi, we ball on a budget over here, so *fingers crossed* we'll be snagging our Som from his newly-announced Kohl's collab collection next year instead of fresh off the runway. But that's OK! There ain't no shame in the high-end accessible game. And even though I may never have the chance to personally strut my stuff at New York Fashion Week (I'm 5'3" on a good day), I plan on making the sidewalk my catwalk when I fill my headphones with all the beachy-keen songs from Som's show, courtesy of sound stylist Javier Peral. Javier was in charge of the soundtrack behind the big-city surfer-girl line and once again, he was kind enough to share the goods with all of us. Check out Peral's perspective on the vibe of the collection and snag the full playlist from Peter Som's Spring 2014 presentation after the jump!

Nicki Minaj at the Alexander Wang NYFW After-Party.
Photo: @nickiminaj's instagram

Here ye, here ye! Gather 'round, fair BARBZ, for your queen, Nicki Minaj, has arrived on the New York Fashion Week scene, and she has a *very* important declaration for all her loyal subjects: Fear not the '90s steez! Bring forth the acid wash jeans! The crop-tops! The logo-emblazed bling! For they are back with a vengeance and her Minajesty doth approve.

After taking a seat on the front-row throne at Herve Leger's Spring show earlier in the day, Nicki held court at Alexander Wang's after-party last night and the woman ruled the night in a can't-be-missed Chanel-plated chain necklace. #LOGOMANIA Minaj, who was a surprise performer at the Pier 17 blow-out, also wore a black, long-sleeved crop-top by Wang himself, her own high-waisted, slashed-up jeans and some seriously sick leopard-print calf hair and suede ankle boots by Giuseppe Zanotti. Minaj was the perfect embodiment of emerging trends for the Spring 2014 season—Wang debuted his highly-anticipated collection on Saturday and showed '90s street-revival with prominent logo-wear and plenty of pieces that would make Cher Horowitz proud.

Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga in Comme des Garçons during New York Fashion Week.
Photo: Splash News

You didn't think Lady Gaga would miss Fashion Week in her hometown, did you? Sure she was just in London kicking off iTunes Festival (aka Swinefest), but that didn't stop her from returning to NYC for fashion's biggest week: she's been here for two days and we've already seen three iconic Gagaloo looks.

On Friday, Gaga wore a gray, pinstriped suit from Comme des Garçons. This wasn't an ordinary suit—obviously, it's Gaga, hello!—composed of a mere pants and jacket combination. Nope. No way. It was a one piece jumpsuit with enormous, puffy sleeves. Much like when she wore this Comme des Garçons dress a year ago, the lady seems unable to put her arms down. She could clothesline many people and claim it wasn't her fault. And it isn't! She paired the jumpsuit with her long, wavy, brown Botticelli wig, and 9-inch boots. Her legendary Alexander McQueen shoes, in comparison, were 12-inches high, so 9 inches is, like, whatevz, easy, NBD.

Kanye West, Sleigh Bells' Alexis Krauss and Miguel attend the Alexander Wang show.

On the second day of New York Fashion Week, Yeezus rose from within the tents to actually spend everything on Alexander Wang. He was joined by music's most-stylish, including Miguel, Sleigh Bells' Alexis Krauss, Solange and Courtney Love, to name a few. And Wang did not disappoint his star-studded audience (or his pajama-clad loyalists watching the live stream from home, eating a cheeseburger and not feeling bad about it).

Looks from Jason Wu Spring 2014.

When fashion met music, it was love at first sight. They've been together a long time now, those two. But they're not the kind of perfect pairing that grinds your gears with handsy PDA or syrupy pet names or the constant use of "we." They're more like Beyonce and Jay Z (*bows down*). Music and fashion are complimentary—they amplify the other's best qualities and make really great surprise guests at each other's shows. 'Cause fashion's a rider, and music's a roller. Put them together, how they gon' stop both of 'em? Basically what I'm trying to say is, fashion and music are like the '03 Bonnie and Clyde.

But someone's got to manage their two giant egos, and that's where Javier Peral comes in. Peral is a sound stylist. He creates soundtracks for fashion shows and is a major part of why people whip out their wallets so quickly after the lights go up. Because HELLO, the urge to spend inordinate amounts of money on a leather bustier clearly isn't propelled by silence. Javier, who's been on the scene since the early 1990s, is one of the first people that gets to see a designer's finished collection, which doesn't make us jealous at all. (Yes it does.) After consulting with a particular designer about their collection's vibe and vision, he creates a series of songs that serves to enhance the colors, textures, mood and movements. He's worked with all of the most major names in high-end fashion and this year, he's going to be sharing some of his soundtracks with us! You may never have to choose between Shazam and Instagram again. First up: Jason Wu after the jump!

Anna Wintour, Russell Westbrook

Anna Wintour and Russell Westbrook chat front row at rag & bone's Spring/Summer 2014 New York Fashion Week show.
Photo: Getty Images

Oh SNAP. Did you guys see this?? Russell Westbrook sat front row at last night's rag & bone Spring/Summer 2014 New York Fashion Week show! And not just that, he sat next to THE high priestess of FASHUN as an organized religion, Miss Anna Wintour. If you have no idea who Westbrook, this darlingly chapeau'ed specimen of excellent cheekbones, is or why he's important, you (A) are obviously not a hardXcore basketball fan like Anna and me *hairflip*, and (B) are about to get a liiiittle history lesson.

I love these two as a couple. What a festive way to celebrate two important events in their life. Mariah looks like a dream.
