Katy Perry Part of Me trailer

Katy Perry released her Katy Perry: Part Of Me concert movie trailer today, and dudes, we need to TALK. Not only were we like, "OMG, KP WILL BE IN 3D!" when we watched it, but we also couldn't help but notice the ridic amount of outfit changes in this two-minute clip. Like, tons. We were so blown away, in fact, we had to count and find out just how many ensembles she was sporting. After multiple, MULTIPLE watches (we know the entire trailer by heart now, NBD) we counted over 50 outfits. Yeah, 5-0. Crazy! We spot Katy in everything from her candy-coated California Dreams tour performance outfits to her nitty gritty sweats during rehearsals. But you have to remember that with all the outfit changes ALSO comes new hair, so we decided to count and see just how many hairstyles she had throughout the clip. Can you guess how many times she switched up those locks?

Azealia Banks Diplo

Azealia Banks is becoming quite the staple performer at fash-related events, and we're so on board. Over the weekend she dropped her newest track "F*** Up The Fun" at Chanel's newest pop-up shop celebration in Tokyo, and we can't stop playing this bass-heavy song on repeat! The single was produced by MTV Style favorite Diplo, and not only are we pumped that she debuted a new song (!!!) but we're also digging her growing importance in the fashion world. She made her couture debut at the Mugler Fall 2012 men's show, where she unleashed her track "Bambi." Since then, she's made an appearance at Karl Lagerfeld's house party (that's right—the place where Uncle Karl lives) and Kanye West's Paris Fashion Week after show.

Katy Perry at the 2012 ECHO Awards.
Photo: Getty Images

At last night's German 2012 ECHO Awards, two lovely American pop stars you may have heard of, Katy Perry and Lana Del Rey, graced the red carpet and the stage. Both ladies, being the notorious fashionistas that they are, turned it out for the celebratory event, decking themselves out in shimmering silver ensembles.

Katy hit the step and repeat in a metallic faceted Paco Rabanne. The body-con mini with graph-like panelling covering the entire frock was très flattering, and her rolled cerulean hair kicked the shock factor up a notch. For her performance on "Part Of Me," Katy pulled her hair back into a high pony with loooong crimped extension and slinked into a sheer bodysuit with spindly silver details, a thick metallic waistband, and large black knee guards (presumably more for function/safety than fashion).

One Direction

One Direction performs on the Today Show March 12, 2012.
Photo: Getty Images

If you don't already know the names of these smiley eyed boys by heart, break out the flashcards and get cramming. The dapper little gents before you (Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, and *SIGH* Harry Styles) make up the latest batch of heartbreakers flying up on teen girls' bedroom walls across the country. They're British-Irish boy band One Direction (for a free download GO TO HERE)! They've been making waves across the pond for the past few months, but their album "Up All Night" just dropped stateside last week and is already making history as they're the first UK group to EVER debut their debut album at No. 1 on the American charts. Watch out Bieber. *wink*

Along with their silky smooth pipes and baby soft faces, these boys have some seeeerious style game. Their color-coordination is airtight with nary a single shade off or clashing. The smart tailoring, tippy-top buttoned shirts, nautical stripes, and skinny lapel blazers (with pocket squares!!) galore are just soooo English gentleman that we (along with much of the ladybaby population) can hardly contain ourselves. EGAD, these boys are KA-YOOT!!!! And notably, repping a squeaky clean yet also fashion-forward look we haven't seen in boy band steez for quite a long time. In honor of One Direction, the major milestones the group is hitting (soon to perform at the Kids' Choice Awards and SNL!), and their on-point collective style, we're taking a look back at how the boy band look has evolved over time. Walk with us.

Kat Graham, Kreayshawn, Alexis Krauss

Kat Graham, Kreayshawn, and Alexis Krauss perform in cutoff shorts at SXSW.

Austin-based music, film, and interactive festival SXSW came to a close yesterday, and as expected, music's fashionistas turned it out (and up!) onstage. From Santigold's multiple outfit changes to the colorful stylings of Best Coast's Bethany Cosentino and Theophilus London, performance wear was varied, for sure. But that didn't mean staples were cast out entirely! Kat Graham, Kreayshawn, and Alexis Krauss of Sleigh Bells repped hard for the universally recognized concert wear uniform: cutoff shorts.

Remember that time we told you how much we wished we were basking in the BBQ pit-lit glow of taco-infused musical mecca fantasticness better known as the SXSW music festival? Yeah, we're still dreaming about hitching a ride on a magic carpet to capture those last moments left of the fest this weekend. Alas, we have more SXSW style shenanigans to make us feel like we're actually there, including some sparkle motion courtesy of Gossip's Beth Ditto, modern minimalism from electro high priestess Zola Jesus, and the cutest in sailor romper wear from Best Coast's Bethany Cosentino. Did we mention there's a shirtless appearance by Lil Wayne?

santigold sxsw 2012

Santigold backstage and performing at the Fader Fort for SXSW 2012 in Austin, TX.

At exactly this time every year, an incredibly loud music and fashion spectacular of creative bacchanalia proportions takes place in Austin, Texas. You might have heard of it… a little festival called SXSW? Yeah, we're pretty miffed we're not there right now, too. *sighs flicks hair* While SOME of the MTV Style crew is there whooping it up at outdoor shows, tacos held happily aloft in hands, the rest of us are here to watch from afar. And if there's any one artist kicking it out with fashionably loud style thus far (and enough for us to feel somewhat satiated by her mere photographic presence alone), it's Santigold. Not only does Santi rock both her street and performance style with equally ferocious aplomb, she isn't afraid to change it up repeatedly throughout the course of a day.

Florence Welch performs at Alexandra Palace in London.
Photo: Getty Images

We probably don't have to remind you of this FACT, but Florence Welch is a total style slayer. Not only does she have the most interesting—and consistent—shade of crimson hair, she has formidable prowess where all-over prints are concerned. Also, she oozes cool and has a set of pipes that would make the most cantankerous carnival clown weep pools of imaginary mime tears. Unafraid to mix genres and styles like carpetbag bohemian with fairy goth queen, Welch's ever-changing array of performance outfits and red carpet looks always seem to enchant. And for her latest set of Florence + the Machine shows in the U.K., she has debuted a magical black and gold art deco cape that we find utterly captivating.

Katy Perry performs "Part Of Me" at the 2012 Grammy Awards.
Photo: Getty Images

Katy Perry has been in talks with Paramount about making a 3-D concert movie, and finally, Katy herself confirmed last night via Twitter that Katy Perry: Part Of Me will drop this summer. Forgive our inability to contain our excitement, but AKLDFJGALKDF!!! Along with this meaning we'll experience something like sitting front row at a KP concert (in cushy theater seats, no less), Katy's incomparable tour wardrobe will be immortalized in 3-D! Details aren't clear at the moment whether the movie will feature her Candyfornia Tour or if Katy will film new concert footage for the flick, which leaves us with a grip of burning questions. What color will her hair be? How many quick changes will we witness? WILL THERE BE LATEX? Whatever ends up being featured in the final product, we can't wait to see her stylist Johnny Wujek's handiwork on the silver screen, the colossal projections of her Candyfornia stage spectacles, and Katy's technicolor locks flying at us with every hair-whipping movement.

I love these two as a couple. What a festive way to celebrate two important events in their life. Mariah looks like a dream.
