You know when you're the type of anxious excited where your eyeballs vibrate a little and you're tearing through craft services because you're maybe burning hundreds of calories from sheer excitement? Well, I haz that. I can only imagine that the performers and scores of backup dancers are feeling similarly so THANK goodness for the magic of flattering lighting and MAKEUP. Specifically MAC Cosmetics whose pro team are responsible for the looks of Britney Spears's Tribute dancers and Pitbull's scores of bronzed Miami beauties.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt Wears A Perfect T-Shirt While (Perfectly) Covering Nirvana

As he starts off his set, Joseph Gordon-Levitt douses himself in a bottle of water, so he sits there with his guitar, glistening and sweaty. Excuse us, but to continue, we ALSO have to douse ourselves with water. Because we need a cold shower. So many cold showers.

There has been this blood-pressure-raising trend recently of really hot dudes doing really cool things. First Ryan Gosling proves he is a super-hero. And Bradley Cooper demonstrates his ability to speak other languages. But Joseph Gordon-Levitt not only is stealing our hearts in the most talked-about movie of all time, The Dark Knight Rises as the enigmatic John Blake, but he's also really really cool. And he makes his cultural savvy clear, beautifully covering Nirvana's "Lithium." His project HITrecord is all about recording and sharing music videos, and I think I speak for all women with eyeballs when I say there is no better accessory on a dude than a guitar. But JGL demonstrates, right here, what may be the most important article of clothing EVER owned by a man: The perfect, unflappable, undisputed T-shirt.

Here's a piece of not-breaking news for anyone who has followed MTV Style for even a nanosecond: Taylor Momsen is a total rocker. Gone are the Gossip Girl days, and gone, so she says, is her acting career. She told Elle Magazine, on her recent trip to Japan, that "I quit acting, actually. I quit Gossip Girl and now tour and am in a band and that’s pretty much all I want to do." Well, girl's got a dream, so as much as we might miss Jenny Humphrey, we are psyched to see her pursue her true rock-and-roll calling. That, and never give up her stripper gear.

There was a time when Nicki Minaj was maybe a little less about unbridled shock factor and more focused on good old-fashioned American sex appeal. Not to say that the two are mutually exclusive by ANY means (uhhh, have you ever seen Megan Fox? Because personally, I’m shocked at nature every time I lay eyes on her), but despite retaining a clear affinity for all things skintight and hella revealing, Nicki’s new favored aesthetic doesn’t ooze "animal magnetism"/"humanahumana" so much as "plasticine '80s comic book."

Nicki Minaj Goes 'Jem And The Holograms' On 'Good Morning America'

Doot doot doot, Friday morning, getting ready for the weekend/relaxing our platform-weary feet and then BAM…NICKI MINAJ appears looking like a classic '80s cartoon-eating chicken with a piano ring. Hence: Apocalypse, of the best sort.

At her Good Morning America shoot today Mistress Minaj rode up wearing an INCREDIBLE outfit, which is making us shake with caffeine/how much we want to explain how MIND-BOGGLING this is. It’s like a Matryoshka doll of win—each layer gets better and better—but it's topped off with this blonde explosion of frizzy hair deliciousness that is part helmet, part dream come true, and ALL a fire hazard.

Sufjan Stevens Sports Wings, Balloons, Disco Ball

Indie artist Sufjan Stevens took over Brooklyn this week with two back-to-back explosively entertaining shows. We attended the Wednesday night performance during the downpour of the freakin' CENTURY, but when we walked away tired, hungry, and soaked there was only one thing that kept our spirits lifted—reminiscing about his INSANE outfits. Sufjan opened the show in a black-lit neon orange and green custom-made jumpsuit complete with a LED light that blinked around his, um, crotch. (Something tells us this placement wasn't accidental.)

But juuuuuuust as we were admiring his glowing erm...package, a shadowy figure came out of NOWHERE with these gorge wings and placed them on Sufjan's back! Even from the nosebleed section, the sheer size and magnitude of these wings was striking, and kind of reminded us of the highly talked about feathers Selita Ebanks sported in Kanye West's "Runaway" video. Sufjan not only wore the wings with admirable ease, but he managed to sing pitch-perfect melodies and noodle on his banjo problem-free. Related: Victoria's Secret Angels have NOTHING on him.

But in pure Sufjan fashion, he was JUST getting the crowd warmed up—his costume changes got crazier as the night (and rain) wore on.

Nicki Minaj's Space Catsuit Goes On Tour

There is something about the catsuit that is pure eyeballs-on-fire hotness and it will always be forever a thing that’ll transcend time and trends and just be a go-to when you are looking to melt retinas. But Nicki Minaj doesn’t just do “sexy.” She does Nicki Minaj fierceness, which means that any catsuit she’ll bring to the table will be a totally bonkers creation that will naturally emphasize her assets (duh) and blow our minds (double duh).

Lil Wayne Wears Enormous Harem Pants

If you follow the blog, you know that we here at MTV Style LOVE us some Lil Wayne. Weezy's style, his music, and his onstage swagger are all consistently interesting, entertaining, and 100 percent unique to the man himself. So this kind of really bizzaro outfit Wayne rocked performing in New Jersey on his "I Am Still Music" tour was shocking because...well, look at it, but not wholly unexpected.

Sure, we never know exactly what dude is going to wear (and even if we TRIED to hypothesize, printed drop-crotch pajama pants may not have made the cut), but we can put money on the fact that it'll be absolutely gonzo and rad. Or in the words of Lil Wayne's stylist, Marissa Tomes, "funky." On most, this degree of bananasness would relegate you to a lifetime of fugbashing, but on Weezy it just makes us love him even more...Why??
