Hold on to your ten-gallon hats and brace yourselves for five more months of Miley Cyrus' stadium spectacle because everyone's favorite wrecking ball just kicked off her Bangerz Tour last Friday night (Feb. 14) in Vancouver, Canada, and will barrel on through North America and Europe until at least mid-June! The platinum-pixied pop star treated British Columbia to a flying hotdog, furry backup dancers, a 17-song setlist—riddled with hits from her current album, old favorites from her earlier day, plus a few covers—and a whopping nine performance outfits courtesy of her laundry list of designer BFFs.

Call us crazy, but we haven't stopped thinking about Katy Perry's Prismatic World Tour since she first announced it back in November. It's still three months away, but we're getting increasingly antsy and excited—especially (obviously) concerning all things wardrobe. So you've gotta understand the pure joy we felt when we saw CuteCircuit (one of Katy's favorite designers, NBD) show their Fall 2014 collection at New York Fashion Week.
Katy has worn some of their pieces before—her light-up gown at the 2010 Met Gala and white catsuit at her 2011 American Idol performance were both designed by CuteCircuit. So, when everyone started raving about iPhone-controlled miniskirts and dresses embedded with LED displays this week, Katy was probably like, "YAWWNNN. Tell me something I DON'T know." (JK, she's way nicer than that.) Designers Francesca Rosella and Ryan Genz have been doing their futuristic thing since 2004, but now that the brand is *officially* on the fashion radar, we have our fingers and toes crossed that Katy will ask her old friends to provide a few (or more) pieces for Prismatic.
Somewhere in America Miley Cyrus is still twerkin'.

This Friday, Miley Cyrus will kick off her highly anticipated Bangerz Tour, and judging solely on photos she tweeted this weekend, it's going to be one big party in the U.S.A. (So, be sure to pack a dream and your cardigan. And maybe some pasties.) In the behind-the-scenes rehearsal snaps, Cyrus, surrounded by dancers wearing stars and stripes, puts a #turntup twist on patriotism in a red-white-and-blue sequined leotard (a look we've learned is custom-made by Miley's stylist, Simone Harouche), coordinating cowboy boots, and (what we believe to be) the same countrified blonde bob wig she wore during Miley Cyrus: MTV Unplugged.
There are also some trippy cartoon visuals in the background that will no doubt serve a greater purpose to be revealed come Friday. "Even though parents probably won't think this, I think my show is educational for kids," Cyrus told Fuse in a recent interview. So, maybe those visuals are, like, Miley-versions of Schoolhouse Rock??? Pretty sure we've learned our lesson by now that when Cyrus is involved, ANYTHING is within the realm of possibility.
AlunaGeorge performs at Rebecca Minkoff.

In case this whole clothing-and-accessories empire "thing" doesn't work out, Rebecca Minkoff clearly has a knack for soundtracking shows with stylish performers. Last year, Minkoff recruited Janelle Monae, who did menswear proud with a black-and-white, suspender-strapped look, to sing a few songs while the models walked. This year, the designer chose AlunaGeorge to rock her runway, and they did not disappoint—sound-wise OR sartorially.
Anthony Kiedis wears Jeremy Scott leggings for 2014 Super Bowl halftime show.

You may have been distracted by the glinting, gleaming, Elvis-channeling sheen of Bruno Mars and his band's metallic gold smoking jackets on the Super Bowl XLVIII halftime stage, but from a fashion standpoint, the real star of that show (IMHO) was Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis. No, not just because he was shirtless (though MAJOR props for doing so in the middle of winter in the Northeast, dude). Look at this guy's leggings!!
Thanks for the mammaries.

In a nation—nay, a world—of Super Bowl watchers, humanity finds itself divided. There are those who tune in for a rousing game of The Football, and there are those who watch for the Halftime Show. Technically, you've also the crowd who only cares about commercials and a bunch who "tune in" so they can eat wings and a variety of dips. The people who eagerly watch for all of it are most certainly higher beings; close to perfection. Namaste to you.
This is dedicated to the Halftime Show contingent, a wayward gang of miscreants and rascals who defy all rules. We are the cool kids because we enjoy rock and/or roll. You football-y types can continue placing bets and doing pre-game stretches, we'll be over here REMEMBERING THE GREATEST (or at least most memorable) HALFTIME FASHUNS! To the garments.
Yep. Probably could've guessed this.

And now for the s*** you didn't see. Or rather couldn't, because there isn't even an alternate universe in which a director would take a tight shot of someone's EAR for a high-profile, nationally televised performance. To the surprise of, I'm sure, literally no one, Miley Cyrus owns sparkly gold earpieces emblazoned with teeny-tiny cannabis leaves. It's no secret that Miles has a thing for Mary Jane. She wears her love of weed on her sleeve. And her halter top. And her backpack. And, of course, in lieu of an acceptance speech at this year's MTV EMA, she lit up a joint onstage. But what you might not have known or noticed was that Miles' earpieces, which she's used for countless performances from iHeartRadio to MTV Unplugged, advertise her 420 ethos, as well.
Miley Cyrus throws down an 'Unplugged' hoedown.

I don't know if it's just because I was THERE for it, but Miley Cyrus has never made so much sense to me until watching her perform for Unplugged. When artists go Unplugged, they strip their music down to its most basic elements, and usually their performance style follows suit (à la Kurt Cobain's nubby cardigan or Jay Z's Che Guevara crewneck). Well, when you dial Miley back to her roots, you get Nashville, the Grand Ole Opry, hair spray, and velvet paintings of Elvis set against sequined curtains. So while her set was stripped-down, leaning heavily on acoustics, her onstage steez left no rhinestone unturned. #turndownforwhat
Will Demi wear this on stage?

Demi Lovato's Neon Lights Tour is right around the corner (it kicks off on February 9th), and here's what we know to expect so far: Demi's newly pink hair, neon and lights and probably a lot of neon lights, a magician, and judging from the sneak-peek picture she recently tweeted, a live-action, Renaissance-style joust with knights in full suits of plated armor. TOUCHÉ, m'lady! Actually, we're only guessing about that last part, but Demi does look ready for a battle royale (save, y'know, actual weaponry) in that chain-mail getup, amirite?

Y'all ain't ready for this. I'm reporting live from L.A. for Miley Cyrus: MTV Unplugged—which you should already know premieres at 9 p.m. EST/PST on MTV this Wednesday night (January 29)—and I can confirm that this thing is going to be WILD (as if you had any doubts). Miley's throwing back to her Nashville roots for the stripped-down performance, but she's remixing it with her own very special brand of TURNT. There's a giant wagon wheel laced with LED lights, bales of hay are strewn about the audience, Miles is dripping in head-to-toe sequined denim, and MADONNA IS HERE IN FULL RHINESTONE COWBOY REGALIA.
