Soulja Boy tells 'em about Louis Vuitton.

• Rappers were all about style shout-outs this week. Leading the pack was Soulja Boy's mixtape named after Louis Vuitton's CEO. Then there was an imaginary style duel (created by us in good fun, of course) asking you to choose between Kanye West and Lil Wayne's fashion lines which of the two you would rather wear. Although neither of the rapper-turned-designers offered up many clues as to what to expect from their upcoming debuts, both Yeezy and Weezy hinted at inspiration from fashion stylists.

• There's no better week than VMA nomination week (except for the week of the actual Video Music Awards, obvs), and we were thrilled to see so many stylish acts up for the coveted gold moon man. Katy Perry topped the VMA nominations and we had to ask: Which Katy Perry video has the best style? Hard to decide. Though in the best style fantasy 2011 VMA category (which we hope will, ahem, become a reality one day), we pitted our fave fashionable lady-vids up against each other.

• Is it just us or is all of young Hollywood drinking from the same fountain or something? How else can you explain all of the crazy hair happenings that happened this week in celebrity-land? We're talking Robert Pattinson's half-shaved head at Comic-Con (holy gasp, right?!) and Vanessa Hudgens cutting her own hair super short. Then there was Lauren Conrad's new blue hair that matched her blue nails. We're not even going to get into the rampant pixie-cut affliction claiming many an actress's head because, in truth, we like all of this brazen change. Still, what's going on?!

• There are so many fashionable ladies rocking covetable looks this week we barely know where to begin. First of all, Chloë Moretz does not dress like she's 14. We totally loved her culottes and straw boater combo at a polo match in jolly England, though. Hills-y Audrina Patridge got all sassy for some Bongo Jeans ads. Then there was Emily Browning's rising style star status assaulting us from various red carpets with its sweet and sophisticated brilliance. Oh, and the Pitchfork Festival had the coolest summer fashion not to mention Pitchfork Performers EMA, Twin Sister, and Zola Jesus talking about their stage fashion of choice.

Jersey Shore is (almost) back! In anticipation of the August 4th premiere, we revealed the Jersey Shore cast's fresh Florence style as well as Snooki's outdoor house slippers and a style guide for getting Pauly D and Vinny's Season 4 looks. Mamma mia we can't wait!

It's been an amazing week overflowing with all kinds of stylistic shenanigans we can barely catch our collective breath! So, don't forget to check back with us on Monday for more fashionable feats of fancy in addition to our ongoing plethora of pop culture. Sky's the limit around here, folks!

Lady Gaga Marilyn Monroe Seuss

• It just isn't a full week unless a pop star wears something eye-catching and whiplash-inducing. This week's standouts include Lady Gaga's Marilyn Monroe plus Dr. Seuss technicolor outfit, not to be outdone by Mother Monster's enormous beard hat.

• We took a moment to share some of the videos we can't get enough of lately with an in-depth look at Demi Lovato's music video for "Skyscraper" (so brave and beautiful!), a super cute short film of Kreayshawn thrifting with her White Girl Mob, and the hyper-juxtaposed "gangster Nancy Sinatra" stylings in Lana Del Rey's "Video Games" music video.

• With the theatrical premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 being TODAY, we dedicated our entire week to the franchise. We took a look back at the fabulous female characters whose closets we'd love to raid. We gave you the low-down on what was really on Emma Watson's eyes at the New York premiere. And we even took to the streets and asked the fashionable people waiting in line for last night's midnight showing of the FINAL Harry Potter film to show us their style.

• Some major model moves were revealed this week as Rihanna was named the face of Emporio Armani Underwear and Armani Jeans replacing Megan Fox, and Rosie Huntington-Whitely appeared nearly nude for Burberry's new fragrance, Body. We watched Kristin Cavallari walk the runway in a glass bikini, and since one cartoon signed a modeling contract, we compiled a list of other toons who should be models.

• Not content with the total strong-hold they already have over the fashion world, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen launched a new handbag line for The Row taking their reign that much further. Unfortunately for them, these sisters are STILL being mistaken for one another. Luckily, there now exists a guide to tell the Olsen twins apart.

So that's it, another stunner of a stylish week has come to a close. Check back with us Monday for all the brightest and brashest fashion that pop culture has to offer. Thanks for reading. And hitting refresh on multiple computers. And also your phone. xo

• Wow. Was this week ever big. We were running around nonstop checking on our favorite graduating class of magical teens, meaning we got to check out what everyone was wearing at the Harry Potter premiere in London. It was ENCHANTING. Also, we peeped Emma Watson's super-cool dark 'do in Harper's Bazaar UK and we liked it ah-lot.

• Speaking of new 'dos, there was a load of beauty changes with Megan Fox becoming a beauty ambassador for Versace. She looks painted with watercolors and like she fell from a dream. Less official, though, is Miss Lauren Conrad dyeing her tips technicolor, adding some, er, color to her good girl behavior.

• Since they are now back from Italy, our favorite meat-heads (and lady meat-heads) have been seen around town sporting all sorts of Jersey fashions. Snooki's crazy leopard-print nails are super easy to do...or at least way less complicated than Snooks and Deena's painted-on tattoos. Never to be outdone, Mr. Pauly D carted around Seaside wearing a tee of his own design.

• And those crazy youngins are always up to something, impressing us with their preternatural know-how, like the lovely Elle Fanning (who is the new face of Marc Jacobs). We also spied a supermodel-in-training, Lottie Moss, who's big sister Kate basically wrote the book on being waifishly hot. Some still have a bit to learn, like math, because we deduce that Taylor Momsen + her fans = one whole outfit.

• And our ladies who have the game on LOCK keep us on our toes, like Miss Beyoncé, who just released the bridal-chic "Best Thing I Never Had" video. Supermodel Elizabeth Hurley is signed up for Gossip Girl, and fresh blood (i.e., Selena Gomez) might be inducted into the heralded style hall of Sex And The City. Sooo...we pair everyone up with their style twinsies!

• Oh, of course, there is always Lady Gaga news, and she blew our collective minds by participating in Lady Gaga Day. When half the world wasn't watching her hang out with kids who are cosplaying AS her, they are thinking about her—especially during Couture Week when half the world is biting inspired by her style.

Snooki in Italy on May 25.

• The Jersey Shore cast is baaaaaaaaaaaaccckk! Well, from Italy at least. In their short return, Snooki has already been compared to the lovely (and fashion forward!) Smurfette and Pauly D flashed an insane amount of bejeweled accessories.

• What were those hot dudes up to this week? X-Men: First Class's Nicholas Hoult showed off his cuter side in Esquire UK, Joe Jonas released his latest music video See No More, Justin Bieber parodied... Justin Bieber, Joe Zee made a cute cameo in a Cobra Starship video, Shia LaBeouf looked DELECTABLE in Details, Godfrey Gao is officially Asia's first (and hottest) male supermodel, and Kanye West and Michael Stipe together make one EXTREMELY hot dude.

• MEOOWWWW. We love cats. We ESPECIALLY love cats and fashion. Katy Perry rocked some crazy expensive cat ears and Chanel launched its feline-friendly ad campaign.

• In celeb designer news, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen launched a $30 T-shirt collection, Lourdes Leon's Material Girl fall 2011 ad campaign featuring Kelly Osbourne hit the blogosphere, Whitney Port dished out some fashion tips, and Lauren Conrad started a fashion column in Forbes.

• The BET Awards were filled with tons of fun AND fashion, but we mostly cared about the fashion. Check out our fave shoes from the red, er, green carpet and our top trends!

• Those pop stars divas are ALWAYS up to something! Lady Gaga eerily resembled Jack Sparrow in Tokyo, Jessie J still looked FIERCE even while wearing a cast onstage in England, Ke$ha and Nicki Minaj both sported skeleton-inspired ensembles, Christina Aguilera was ousted as the face of Stephen Webster jewelry, Beyoncé and Rihanna let their huge hair hang out, and Willow Smith rocked her Fresh Prince dad on her T-shirt. Twice.

• Our cover girls ROCKED it this week! Mia Wasikowska channeled Jane Eyre on Harper's Bazaar Australia and Taylor Swift went retro for Teen Vogue.

Have a great Independence Day, fashion friends! Don't forget to rock out to our favorite Fourth of July fashion music videos. (P.S.—Still have nothing to wear? Try THIS!)

• This week we celebrated our first birthday! The selfless beings that we are here at MTV Style (to be read with intense sarcasm), we find it better to give than to receive. Thus, we presented our GIF to you as a sincere and heartfelt THANK YOU to each and every one of you who loves fashion at full volume and has put up with all 119 instances of the word "glitter" on this blog.

• What week is Justin Bieber NOT king? Regardless, this was a big one for the Biebs as he finally released his much-anticipated women's perfume, Someday. Our friends at Buzzworthy tested it out on a few strangers in Time Square in a video you just can't miss! Justin also sported a T-shirt of '90s teen queen Tiffani Thiessen, who then RETURNED THE FAVOR (oh yes, we are still excited about it) by wearing a Bieber tee of her own! No word on when Justin Bieber will one-up Tiffani with the (totally meta) move of wearing a T-shirt of her wearing a T-shirt of him, but we'll be there if/when it happens.

• We caught up personally with a few style stars this week. NBD. *awkwardly brushes shoulders off in an attempt to be nonchalant* Robyn, despite all of our girlish swooning, took some time to speak with us about her cray-mazing personal style from fancy underpants to custom Timbs. And we all developed even bigger girl-crushes on Kreayshawn after she may or may not have TOTALLY SCHOOLED US at liquid eyeliner application. We're unsettlingly competitive so the loss REALLY stings, but for her, we put it aside.

• We analyzed the video fashions of two women idolized by girls everywhere: Britney Spears and Miss Piggy. We broke down Brit's new punk rock look for her "I Wanna Go" music video down to each and every last safety pin. And Miss Piggy brought her fashion game as a 'Vogue Paris' editor in the new Muppets trailer.

• Finally, we (yet again) ogled a wholeeee LOTTA boys, high-fashion boys at that. The D&G models at this week's Milan show charged down the runway like a shirtless army that we definitely wouldn't mind pretending to fend off. The Versace show drew in a seriously studly front row (umm HAI Chace Crawford and Darren Criss). Aaannndd Nicola Formichetti's new campaign video for Mugler is basically porn, and we're not mad about it.

That's it for this week! Thanks for the birthday wishes and for a truly amazing year! Have a great weekend and we'll see you back here on Monday! xoxo

Snooki on March 30, 2011.

• This week marked an explosion in new celeb-fashion ventures as our girl Snooki launched a line of flip-flops and wedges with (get this...) PICKLES all over them, and the billion-dollar mogul Jessica Simpson was announced as the mentor for NBC's newest reality show, Fashion Star. Ladies betta WERK!

• Nuptial bliss is in the air (or will be soon) as Kim Kardashian and soon-to-be-hubby Kris Humphries' Gearys registry is discovered to be public (and full of "old people stuff"). And to the joy of many a Twi-hard, the designer of Bella Swan's wedding dress was revealed: Carolina Herrera!

• Between Lady Gaga's latest obsession with old-school Versace and the upcoming Nicholas Kirkwood x Keith Haring collab, the '90s are making a comeback in a BIG way. Does this mean we can dust off our mini-backpacks and slap bracelets?!?? (Pleaseohpleaseohplease!)

• With Father's Day on the horizon (THIS SUNDAY, YOU TERRIBLE CHILDREN), we took some time to appreciate all the Hot Dads out there. From cool guys like Julian Casablancas of The Strokes, to dapper dudes like the always-polished David Beckham. We even showed our love for the step-dads à la the pouty Ashton Kutcher.

That's it for this week! Be sure to treat your dad EXTRA nicely this weekend, and we'll see you back here on Monday!

Scented nail polish from Mattése Elite.

Friday afternoons. Nothing better than smelling vaguely of a beachside bar every time you make any sort of hand gesture. People may already be suspecting you knocked back a few, but fortunately you have your nail polish to blame for the boozy smell. For the Happy Hour collection, Mattése Elite presents six neon shades that come with an over-21 scent meant to waft off of your freshly painted fingertips. While the inclination to have our paws soaked in cocktail-like scents has never really struck us, the $6 collection actually features a group of youthful, summery shades that we wouldn’t mind trying. And while the drinks themselves might be too sugary for human consumption, the sweetness of the shades has already got us choosing out our favorites.

Kristen Stewart at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards.
Photo: Getty Images

• The Movie Awards may be over (until next year!), but that doesn't mean you can't re-live every fabulous fashion moment! We brought you all the red carpet coverage your little heart could desire from the biggest trends to our top ten looks and even drilled down to the nitty gritty details like nails and beauty!

• Our girl, Lady Gaga was honored at this year's CFDA Awards as a bona fide Fashion Icon. What did Mother Monster wear the first day after her coronation as High Priestess of FASHUN? A dress with her face on it. Duh.

• We know the witty banter we facilitate here at MTV Style is really funny and stuff, but we've decided it's time we do more philanthropic things with the blog. Thus, this week we reached out a helping hand to keep you from zit monster summer bang disasters and from leaving the house questioning, "Am I Wearing A Dress?" You're welcome. *plastic smile and beauty pageant wave*

• This week, a few stars had us stroking our invisible thinking mustaches with some glimpses into hidden supernatural powers. Jared Leto's hair defied all laws of science in a 'do that was straight out of Dragon Ball Z, and Katy Perry changed her clothes a truly miraculous EIGHT TIMES in one song. WHAT. Maybe celebrities really aren't humans after all...

• Finally, we love ya, Urban Outfitters. We frequent you often. But some of the "merchandise" you guys are pushing is well... WTF???

We hope you have a wonderful summer weekend, stylettes. (East Coast, stay dry!) See you back here bright and early Monday morning!

Listen, we'll admit we spend WAAAAAAAY too much time online shopping. So much, in fact, that we know every single inch of some online retailers' websites.... *cough* Urban Outfitters *cough* And sometimes, in the little corners of the internet ether, we stumble upon their, erm, more questionable products, and we're all, "WTF IS this?! No, seriously. What. Is. This. We don't get it." And then we see it has ratings and a bajillion reviews and we're all, "WAIT. PEOPLE BUY THIS?!?!?" (I mean, don't get us wrong. About 25 percent of our closets are strictly UO purchases. Don't judge.) So let us honor the mind-boggling, quirky and downright crude products that Urban Outfitters has tricked people into buying sold on their website. Read the reviews and then read our thought-provoking insight on each.

#15 - TIGER BUDDY AKA A SNUGGIE FOR FURRIES

Photo: Courtesy of Urban Outfitters

PRICE: $78.00
USER RATING: 4 1/2 out of 5 stars
USER REVIEW: "This is like a giant sweatshirt that envelops you in love and hilarity."
MTV STYLE SAYS: This is like a giant sweatshirt that you can't wear outdoors or even indoors if your cat is there to judge you harshly and decamp for a saner, less spinsterish environment.

#14 - 'HO' GLASS A.K.A. HOW TO PINT FOR ATTENTION

Photo: Courtesy of Urban Outfitters

PRICE: $3.99
USER RATING: 4 1/2 out of 5 stars
USER REVIEW: "The cup was just as good as I thought it would be, but I was disappointed with the fact that I couldn't mix and match the two cups that I wanted to purchase."
MTV STYLE SAYS: Wait, what was the other cup that you wanted? Pimp? Or the festive x-mas one that says, "HoHo". WAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Continuum N12 Bikini.
Photo: Courtesy of Continuum/Ariel Efron

I love science. I am a sucker for smartypantses and people who just seem like smartypantses because they're polysyllabic and confusing and wear glasses and small trousers. But sometimes an errant poindexter starts chipping away at a problem that just isn't a problem and bad stuff like this 3-D bikini happens. I know. I didn't get it either, but upon watching the video and reading the literature, basically you send your sizes to a company called Continuum Fashion and they PRINT a bikini for you out of these wee little, flexible nylon 12 (aka polyamide) discs that join at angles that allow for topography that fit EXACTLY to the curvature of your body and is "surprisingly comfortable." What? Yeah, no.

I mean, look at this thing. I realize that it's COOL and RAD that you can make this nonfabric behave like fabric but kinda who cares when there's this thing called FABRIC. AMIRITE? Stay in your lane scientists...

I love these two as a couple. What a festive way to celebrate two important events in their life. Mariah looks like a dream.
