You know how sometimes you'll see some poor girl (or even yourself) walking around in a vestment that is just baffling? Maybe it was so short you swear you caught a glimpse of the girl's SOUL as she sat down/stood up? Usually one of two situations is playing out: Either this thing was supposed to be worn as a tunic (a fact she's choosing to blithely ignore), OR what began as a dress is made up of unnatural fibers and discarded dreams, and it shrank after the first wash. Either way, it's an unfortunate problem plaguing lady-citizens across the country, yielding wardrobe malfunctions and pedestrian blindness. Thankfully, someone created a handy dandy GENIUS 'Am I Wearing A Dress?' infographic (a spin-off of the Buzzfeed infographic for 'Am I Wearing Pants?') to squash the problem from this moment on. Print it out, tape it to your mirror, look at it every day, but ALSO let these classic repeat offenders be examples to you all...

We know what you're thinking. You're thinking we're beyond exhausted and likely tripping balls and tasting sounds and smelling colors in the aftermath of the 2011 Movie Awards and you'd be right. As such there wasn't anything more inviting than the prospect of staring at anthropomorphized kittehs to soothe our frayed (wailing/bleeding) nerves, and that place is Getty Images, where all of these cats live, waiting to tell us a story about paws and claws and subcultures. So, yeah, just... hold us. Want hardboiled FASHNEWS, feel free to comb through our archives. Namely, this video of Vogue Nippon's Anna Dello Russo dancing like a skittish mule. MTV Style Headlines Of The Week: Cop 'Jem And The Holograms' '80s-Inspired Look, Catch A Sneak Peek Of Bella's Wedding Dress, And More

• Guys, Jem and the Holograms is coming back to TV. YAHOO!! In celebration of this glorious event, we found numerous ways to dress EXACTLY like her. Check out how to cop Jem's look here!

• The Movie Awards are almost here!! No, seriously it's, like, this weekend, and we are SO EXCITED to see all the amazing FASHION! So far we've gotten a sneak peek of Bella's wedding dress from Twilight: Breaking Dawn (the full clip will air on Sunday!), noodled over what Kristen Stewart might wear to the show, guessed the top beauty trends, announced that Christian Siriano will be hosting the red carpet report, and looked back on Generation Award winner Reese Witherspoon's iconic fashion movie moments.

• What were those hot dudes up to this week? Bradley Cooper surprised us all by speaking impeccable French, Dita Von Teese's boyfriend Louis-Marie de Castelbajac looks super model-y and hot in Paris, Rain stylishly traveled around the world with us, and Álex González begged to be put on the cover of a romance novel. Also, can we just add that we LOVE dudes with long hair? KAY.

• This week our cover girls knocked it out of the PARK. Beyoncé radiated otherworldliness on the cover of Essence, Zoë Kravitz looked rocker chic for ASOS magazine, and Rihanna KILLED it in a tribal ensemble on the cover of Cosmopolitan.

• Fashion isn't always about runways and high-end couture. Sometimes it's about the WEIRD-AS-HALE stuff you stumble upon while searching the internetz. Here were some of our favorite finds: dresses made of cheese, rat fashion conventions, and totally reversible jeans.

• Ashlee Simpson teams up with her sister/billion dollar fashion empire god Jessica in creating a line of rocker-inspired clothing for teens. The tween apparel will be an extension of the Jessica Simpson Collection brand Ashlee will co-create to inspire "young girls to express their personalities and creativity through fashion." • The biggest "a-duhhhhhh" of the week: Kanye West is launching a high-end fashion collection. 'Ye is setting up shop in Paris to work on a line for both men AND women, which is not-at-all surprising considering he himself has been spotted sporting some womenswear himself. {Telegraph}

• Head of Yves Saint Laurent fashion house Stefano Pilati admitted that when it comes to his critics he's "very scared" of bloggers. Naomi Campbell Sues Cadbury For Racist Ad, Aubrey Plaza Nominated To Play Daria In Live-Action Movie, And More Fashion News

• Supermodel Naomi Campbell took legal action against Cadbury after they launched a chocolate bar campaign with the slogan "Move over Naomi, there's a new diva in town." Naomi stated the ad is "insulting and hurtful," and to be described as chocolate is upsetting not just for her, but all black women and black people. {Vogue UK}

• The fans have spoken! MTV’s own Clutch blog posted a poll last week on who should play Daria in a live-action movie, and after more than 11,000 votes, Aubrey Plaza was chosen! We couldn't think of ANYONE that could rock plastic circle glasses and a forest green blazer more perfectly. {MTV Clutch}

• You'd think when celebs aren't on the red carpet, they'd stick to practical, off-camera ensembles, but that certainly isn't the case! Lady Gaga grabbed coffee in sky-high Louboutin pumps, fishnets, and a Born This Way tee; Katie Holmes headed to the beach in heels that sunk into the sand; Gavin Rossdale played in waves in full-out skinny jeans; and Victoria Beckham played with her kids in 5-inch boots. {Coco Perez} {Telegraph}

• Ever since the Jersey Shore cast arrived in Italy, they've been looking a tad different. JWOWW is sporting large-brimmed hats, The Situation is wearing artsy black-and-white graphic tees, and Deena threw on a (gasp!) floral romper. Don't all of these outfit changes feel a little... hipster to you? Or is it just us?

• Katy Perry released her hilarious/amazing/brace-faced album cover art for "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F)," and we found out how to re-create the look! In other beauty-related news, we caught up with Carol's Daughter spokesbeauties Solange Knowles, Cassie, and Selita Ebanks at Sephora to dish about their top beauty tips and more!

• With the HUGE release of Born This Way, this was officially Lady Gaga's week! She hosted and performed on Saturday Night Live in killer Jac Langheim latex pieces, and we ID'ed all her outfits from her new album.

• A little show called the Billboard Music Awards happened, and we rounded up the top red carpet trends (cut outs! Glitter! Long sleeves!) and most memorable performance outfits.

• The MTV Movie Awards are almost here!! Check out our fashion homages to these multi-nominated movies: The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 1, and Black Swan.

• What were those hot dudes up to this week? Ryan Reynolds nailed the "impeccably disheveled" look in Details magazine, Henry Holland looked SO CUTE that we decided he needs to become our BFF immediately, Kris Humphries stylishly sweated it out in GQ, we celebrated Bob Dylan's 70th birthday by remembering his casual-chic style, we're weren't mad when Ewan McGregor sported a goatee, and we gave American Idol winner Scott McCreery juusssttt a little bit of style advice.

• Not a week goes by where we don't stumble upon SUPER weird/interesting/crazy stuff that is forever burned into our memory on the internet. This is what we found: a cheeseburger nail art Tumblr, Coco's new clothing line, Tyra and André Leon Talley's EXCITING video on shapewear, and the odd Hammitt x True Blood werewolf pocketbook.

• Last night's American Idol finale brought out THE BIGGEST vocal powerhouses (Ms. Beyoncé and Ms. Lady Gaga, of course) complete with uh-mazing performance outfits. Beyoncé NAILED IT in a to-die-for Zac Posen platinum gown while debuting her new single “1+1” and danced to “Crazy In Love” in a Swarovski crystal-encrusted Ralph & Russo dress. Lady Gaga wore a triangular headpiece replete with studs and loose chains, which sort of reminds us of the Tree of Souls from Avatar. Seriously, Google it. {Vulture}

• On her final show ever (*sniff sniff*), Oprah signed off in a custom coral L'Wren Scott dress with a dip-dyed chiffon belt. We think this fresh, form-fitting dress couldn't be more perfect for her last goodbye. The bright color shows optimism for what lies ahead, and HEY! Don't cry! • The Savannah College of Art and Design lined an ENTIRE reception hall with Manolo Blahnik shoe boxes. Let's all ogle at this breathtaking photo, shall we? {Racked}

• Everyone knows Kim Kardashian is engaged to basketball star Kris Humphries, BUT HAVE YOU SEEN HER RING? It's 20.5 carats. Yes, you read that right. Kris designed the 20-plus-carat ring with jeweler Lorraine Schwartz, aaaaaaand we're officially giving up on life. {Oh No They Didn't!}

• Model/resident Brooklyn hipster Erin Wasson will launch a capsule collection with French retailer Zadig & Voltaire this September. The line will be sold exclusively on Net-A-Porter and will feature suede jackets, leather pants, cashmere, and more. {Racked}

Kim Kardashian Is Engaged, Michelle Obama Wows In A Tom Ford Evening Gown, And More Fashion News

• The internet is BLOWING UP about the news that Kim Kardashian is now engaged to New Jersey Nets player Kris Humphries. Word is that Kris proposed at home and skipped popping the question in favor of spelling it in rose petals (AWW!). No word yet on whether the couple will follow in Khloe and Lamar's footsteps with a joint fragrance launch, (especially given Kim just released her newest one this month). One thing for sure, that secures at LEAST one more butt in the seats at the Nets Brooklyn arena next season. {PopEater}

• Despite some mumblings about Michelle Obama's outfit of choice for meeting Prince William and Kate Middleton yesterday, she hit an undeniable home run in a gorgeous ivory gown by American designer Tom Ford at Buckingham Palace. Take special note of the first lady's over-the-elbow gloves, which perfectly highlight her INCREDIBZ arms. Seriously, what's a girl gotta to do to get her trainer's number?? {Fashionista}

• Like one of those cool things at science museums that let you stick your hand in a bed of dull pins to make a pretty little imprint sculpture, accessories designer Lulu Guiness's 'Be A Pin Up' installation opened for Clerkenwell Design Week yesterday. The exhibit is reminiscent of the forgotten party favorite, and it features a GIGANTIC FULL-BODY-SIZE pin sculpture. • Yves Saint Laurent snaps back in the development from the legal battle with Christian Louboutin's exclusive use of the red sole with some historical schooling. We are officially all embroiled in the crossfire of a drawn-out fashion version of You Got Served {Washington Post}

• It looks like nobody bought the dress that Lady Gaga wore for the finale of the Fall 2011 Mugler show, so Gilt Groupe ended the Gaga-stravaganza without a buyer for the frock. While we aren't sure what happens now, we can wonder and hope and email Gilt Groupe a note with the MTV Style office address and a winky emoticon. {NYMag}

• Our beloved Hillzie Kristin Cavallari sat down with Perez Hilton to talk about her fast-selling shoe she designed for ShoeDazzle.com. All proceeds go to charity, but HURRY! She said she's already sold-out of sizes 6, 7, and 8. {Coco Perez}

• An unaired sketch of Justin Timberlake dressed as Mozart on "SNL" surfaced on the interwebs in which he mocks himself for, erm, not getting any awards for The Social Network and even the Biebs himself. Yowza. {Jezebel}

• Lady Gaga graciously greeted her fans in New York in a barely there one-piece jumpsuit, super high ponytail, and super-crazy-awesome dramatic black eyeliner makeup. The best part? Her studded cutoff denim vest that reads "Born This Way." Can I haz one plz? {Washington Post}

• Balmain is launching a more affordable clothing collection called Pierre Balmain, named after the house's founder. The men's and women's line will be out in September and is geared toward a younger range of buyers. Cue me silently weeping at my desk in joy. {Fashionologie}

• Kate Middleton looked downright CHIC when she met with the Obamas in Buckingham Palace. But who would have known that the new Duchess of Cambridge wore a structured nude bandage Reiss dress that was only $340?!
