Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron both wore see-through black dresses to the London premiere of Snow White and the Huntsman.

There aren't many things that make us stop whatever we're doing and gape in awe, but seriously, it's impossible not to obsess over the photos from last night's London premiere of Snow White and the Huntsman. I mean, just look at Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron on the red (uh, grass?) carpet and you'll see what we mean. The co-stars of the film, which hits theaters June 1, looked jaw-dropping gorgeous in their dramatic sheer black gowns.

Kristen Stewart took a break from her trademark sneakers and cutoffs uniform and pulled out all the stops for this major event, wearing an intricate Marchesa floor-length dress. Straight from the Fall 2012 runway, the long-sleeved gown is covered in black lace, making it the perfect hybrid of goth, romantic, and seriously unexpected glamour. We're not used to seeing K.Stew baring all, but thanks to the tastefully see-through skirt and embellishment on the torso, she 100% pulls it off. While the dress is amazing enough as is, she topped off the look with a wispy bun accented by- wait for it-gold chains. One word: knockout. But staying true to form, she did tell us at the premiere that she was looking forward to slipping out of the dress and putting on something a little more comfy. Even in ulta-glam mode, she's still the K.Stew we know and love.

Katy Perry

Remember when Katy Perry used to dress up in candy and cupcakes and shoot whipped cream out of her bustier? *nostalgic sigh* Well, it looks like those days are a little far off (for now, at least), and while you can relive them in game form, the IRL Katy has moved from her blue period to a purple one that's more, in her own words, "goth".

Rihanna

Rihanna stuns in a white dress at the "Battleship" LA premiere.

Last night's L.A. premiere of Battleship confirmed a two very important things. Tim Riggins Taylor Kitsch is still hot sans flowing mane (no Sampson-Delilah syndrome here!), and Rihanna can look good, nay, stunning, wearing literally anything. That's not to say that this Adam Selman gown Ri sported on the red carpet is not beautiful in its own right because it is. It's crisp and sexy and deliciously tactile, and if anyone in this world can pull off the simultaneous low-dipping cowl neck, thigh-high slit, and sacrum-grazing open back, it's Rihanna.

Early this year, news of Katy Perry's Sims debut had KatyCats pawing for a piece of the special Katy Perry edition of The Sims 3. The OG game was already chock full of Katy-themed details, but now, EA has released an extra "Sweet Treats" pack with even more Candyfornia sets, props, hairstyles, and fashions! Since we ran the first virtual performance outfits through the ringer, we thought it would only be fair to extend the same gesture to the new pack. Walk with us as we explore how these ensembles stack up against their IRL inspirations!

Katy Perry wore this bejeweled tromp l'oeil onesie tearing up the 2010 MTV Movie Awards stage. For her upbeat performance of "California Gurls," Katy wore a bright cerulean version of her signature Candyfornia Bettie Page 'do, a sparkle-covered cut-out romper that gave the illusion of a teeny top and high-waisted denim shorts. She finished it off with graphic t-strap heels and a spoonful of attitude. The shoes fall short in the Sims version and EA adds some superfluous hair flowers, but overall, the virtual replica nails this one.

Florence Welch, Lady Gaga

Florence Welch and Lady Gaga wear tiered layer cake dresses.

AH, the cupcake dress. It's a many tiered and layered thing that cascades from head-to-toe like a Christmas tree. There's usually a ruffle or two (or a thousand), and its high-fashion otherworldliness cannot be denied. Most recently, Florence Welch sported a white Alexander McQueen cupcake dress at the 2012 Costume Institute Benefit Gala. The two-tiered, bell-sleeved number was partially sheer up top, lending the otherwise voluminous dress a little bit of seductive, playful flair, while the midi length and matching pumps gave the whole thing a certain Edwardian charm. Florence chose to pair the outrageous ensemble with a distinctly more simple coif--a crown braid pulls her long red hair off her shoulders and lets the dress take the spotlight, while framing her beautiful face just so.

Fact: you don’t dress for the Met Gala to blend in. This year alone we spotted head-to-toe sequins, Barbie doll frocks, and even textured crocodile (ahem, Rihanna)...so needless to say, anyone who’s lucky enough to score an invite tries her absolute hardest to stand out from the rest of the fashion pack. But just like any big event, there were some major trends of the night- check out the three biggest below.

DRAMATIC LIPSTICK

Camilla Belle reached glamazon status in her slinky beaded Ralph Lauren gown, but the real secret weapon to the actress’s ‘20s-inspired look? Her ultra-bold, wine-hued lipstick, which perfectly complemented her almond eyes and trademark full brows. She's not the only one who channeled Old Hollywood by pairing dark lips with shimmery metallic dresses; it's well-tread beauty territory, and we couldn't be happier. Lana Del Rey played up her music industry darling rep with her Altuzarra dress (and cape!), which strikingly offset her burgundy lipstick and swoop of black liner. But here's proof you don't have to retire your ruby red shade just yet: Jessica Alba looked to the brighter side with a cherry-tinted lipstick in her Michael Kors gown- just as dramatic, still just as gorgeous as the rest.

What do cascading feathers, lemon yellow peplums, errant capes, pops of hot pink, and gigantic gold sequins have in common? They all get top billing at the 2012 Met Gala! Arguably fashion's equivalent to the Oscars and prom all rolled into one magical night hosted by Vogue magazine to celebrate the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Gala is the one event of the year where you go big, bold, bright, and brilliant or you get booed off the crimson carpet. (Seriously, the paparazzi this year were INSANE with their commentary, and one photog's hilarious banter was picked up by Vogue's live stream all night.) Thankfully, there was a steady stream of stunners down the carpet and up the steps. From see-through mega gowns and a dress made entirely of red plastic flowers to mismatched cocktail numbers and the Longest Donna Karan Train in the World™, we bring you our top picks of the night.

BEYONCE

Raise your glasses, coffee mugs, celebratory baby bottles—what have you—because pop icon and new baby mama Beyoncé brought the Met Gala tent down. You guys, LOOK AT THIS DRESS. Words cannot convey the magnificence that is this jaw-dropping Givenchy show-stopper. What's more, when everyone was inside and the press was about to pack up their gear and go, Bey decided to saunter on up the carpet in all her lens shattering glory like, "Oh, hi! Am I late? Did I miss anything?" NO, B, we missed YOU. From the sleek-swept ponytail to the utter see-through mastery of this dress, your eyes barely know where to focus before exploding along with the black to purple ombre feathers (FEATHERS!) pooling around her ankles. This is how you do the Met Gala. Period.

Since prom is basically the ONLY occasion in our lives that calls for super dressed-up gowns (well, minus our wedding day *crosses fingers*), it means we can FINALLY cop all those drool-worthy red carpet looks that we've been fawning over all year long. Just think—their stylists get paid the big bucks to dish out the top celebs' most killer looks, so why not take a cue from the best in the biz? We gathered some of our favorite awards show ensembles and found an affordable option for all our fashion-forward girls. I know, I know, we're sooooo nice. You can thank us later.

SELENA GOMEZ'S SPARKLY MERMAID DRESS

We loveloveLOVED Selena Gomez's super glam Oscar party look because it's body-conscious but classy. We tried to match the intricate metallic bead work on her Dolce & Gabbana mermaid dress with an allover silver sequin dress from Bloomingdale's. The Lauren by Ralph Lauren gown ($270) silhouette is SO dead that you could even sport the same vintage-y faux bob and call it a night! To finish the look, grab a studded clutch and call it a night. We particularly like this embellished linen wristlet ($70) from Bebe!

Forget whatever you think you know about little black dresses. As temperatures climb and hems rise, spring is all about the LWD (little white dress), and in just one evening, Lea Michele, Shay Mitchell, and Chelsea Kane sported three different iterations of the crisp warm-weather trend at last night's Academy screening of Glee and the ABC Family West Coast upfront.

Dakota Fanning, Zooey Deschanel, Ginnifer Goodwin

Every year, the White House Correspondents Dinner brings the worlds of politics and Hollywood together under one fashionable Washington D.C. roof to dine with (and enjoy a speech delivered by) the President of the United States of America. Witty barbs are tossed around the room from the evening's designated host—who was Jimmy Kimmel this year—and everyone dresses up in their fanciest finery, aka black ties and gowns galore, usually of the more subdued variety. (Neon minidresses and/or jumpsuits made of wig hair should be saved for after-parties only.) This year, a bevy of beauties classed-up the evening in various shades of grey. Dakota Fanning and Zooey Deschanel both chose classic lady-gowns adorned in flowers, and Ginnifer Goodwin went for eco-friendly ruffles in the lightest, creamiest of grey.
