Pharrell Williams

Pharrell Williams looks real good on the 2014 Grammys red carpet, eh?

“Oh snap, I’m running late—let me just grab these clothes from the bottom of my closet and bounce,” Pharrell Williams said, 20 minutes before he showed up on the Grammys red carpet looking like Dudley Do Right-meets-Run DMC (though the interwebz is dead set on Smokey Bear). No, but really, he is probably the only person at the awards show who can say, “I woke up like dih.”

Even though the show has yet to begin, music's brightest stars are already lighting up the 2014 Grammys red carpet. BIG TIME. And little do they know that before the competition starts to heat up for RULL, an unannounced battle royale has been brewing on the sidelines—and the winner won't be going home with a golden statue. MWAHAHA. They will, however, be going home with our highly coveted accolades, so, you know, there's that.

It's not often that we come across two dudes with hair SO GOOD that we'd trade it for our own. It's even less often that the dudes in question are old enough to be our dads. (Most of us, anyway.) But tonight, both Jared Leto (who's a mind-blowing 42, FYI), and Ozzy Osbourne (who's 65), have given us ombré *ACHEM* homme-bré strands to envy.

8:20 PM — Forget about dyeing the tips of your hair: 2014 is all about fingertip dyeing, à la Lorde.

8:00 PM — Show's starting and Gaby and Maeve here taking over!

7:49 PM — The only way to describe Ashanti's bodycon metallic mini dress is: wowowow.

'Tis the season for golden statuettes and designer gowns! We've gotten a little spoiled over the past couple of weeks in terms of red carpet looks, and luckily for us, the appearances at tonight's SAG Awards did NOT disappoint. We got our fair share of classic formalwear, glamorous gowns, and dapper tuxedos, but there were also some fashion risk-takers who completely stole the show. Take a look at some of our highlights, and let us know which ones are your faves!

Jennifer Lawrence

Let's all say it together: WOWZA. After her polarizing Golden Globes dress (Is it chic? Is it a ripoff of The Little Mermaid?), we're pretty sure Jennifer Lawrence's 2014 SAG Awards dress will earn 100%-positive reviews. Her couture Dior gown was head-to-toe sequins, sequins, and more sequins, and she pulled it off like a BOSS. Seriously, who else could look that good in THICK, horizontal blue-and-purple stripes? And since the sparkling number was so dazzling on its own, Jennifer was wise to pick just one piece of statement jewelry—in this case, a pair of long gold and purple drop earrings. Her overall look might have still been a little reminiscent of mermaids (sparkling scales and whatnot), but in a much, much better way IMHO.

OK, so the fact that Kerry Washington is a flawless angel isn't exactly news. But you guys... She just took things to a new level. A level we formerly thought could never be reached. In the midst of her second trimester, the Scandal star hit the 2014 SAG Awards red carpet in a custom Prada high-waisted skirt and (wait for it) CROP TOP. Oh, AND the crop top also was completely open in the back. Can everyone join us while we all bow down to Miss Olivia Pope right now? It takes serious guts to bare your belly, even WITHOUT a bun in the oven.

Anna Gunn

Oh SNAP. The 2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards red carpet has just started to really pick up, but as far as we're concerned, Breaking Bad's Anna Gunn has already shut this thing down. Granted, our favorite Lupita Nyong'o hasn't done the step-and-repeat yet, but there's really not much that can beat what Miss Gunn has brought to the party. No, we're not talking about her navy blue Monique Lhullier gown (though it is beautiful—that athletic neckline!). We're talking about DAT CLUTCH.

Tonight's Critics' Choice Movie Awards forced Hollywood's elite to step out on the red carpet once again (the third time in just a little over a WEEK). It seems like we JUST picked apart the looks from the 2014 Golden Globes, but hey, that's the life of the rich, famous, and talented. (It's also what happens when the Winter Olympics forces much of awards season OUT of February.) The Critics' Choice attendees played it pretty safe overall, proving that awards shows are sometimes more about professionalism rather than just seeing and being seen. Still, there were a few envelope-pushing looks that we think are worth talking about. Take a look at our faves!

Can we just go ahead and crown Lupita Nyong'o the official red carpet darling of 2014 already? I know it's only January, but girl's track record is PRISTINE. If her gorgeous caped dress at the Golden Globes wasn't enough to convince you, just look at this white-hot number. We love all aspects of the crisp, clean Calvin Klein look from its athletic neckline to its geometric bodice cutouts, but don't sleep on her matching manicure, shimmering makeup, metallic clutch, or perfectly compatible Kimberly Macdonald jewelry either! Girl is FLAWLESS.

Sure, the gowns (and pants under gowns, right, Emma Watson?) at the 2014 Golden Globes were incredible, but how about the beauty? We're feeling inspired. Some of our fave ladies stepped up their looks even more with their bold lip colors, shimmery eye shadows, and flawless skin. If you're looking for a way to make your January beauty game even better, we have four looks from Jennifer Lawrence, Sarah Hyland, Emma Watson, and Lupita Nyong'o for you to try. Check 'em out below!

One of the night's winners, Jennifer Lawrence, wore a dark plum lip that stood in stark contrast to her white, perhaps-Little-Mermaid-inspired gown. While J.Law has gone with even darker lips in the past, this shade is perfect for winter. If you want to dabble in dark lips like Jennifer, you can try a deep, rich bordeaux shade. Wearing a gown is optional, but will definitely make you feel J.Law-level glamorous.

Regardless of whether or not you scored a nomination, the Golden Globes after-parties have long-provided the perfect excuse for stars to dust off that designer gown they've been meaning to wear since, like, FOREVER. (Forever meaning since it hit the Spring 2014 runways, of course.) The step-and-repeats at parties thrown by InStyle/Warner Bros. and Netflix/The Weinstein Company brought some stellar wardrobe changes from the show's attendees and a whole new set of stars who gave us plenty to swoon over. We picked out a few of our faves, which included Nina Dobrev, Taylor Swift, and two very dapper Jonas Brothers.

Now that the Golden Globes are over, if you need me, I'll be down by the beach sipping on a piña colada. JK. I'll be in my robe, on my couch, binge-watching something on Netflix, probably. A girl can't help but dream about bikinis and sunshine, though, especially after seeing all the bold, sunny colors that some stars showed up in for the InStyle/Warner Bros. after-party. Nikki Reed channeled the Caribbean Sea in an aqua-colored gown by Monique Lhuillier, which had a train that resembled gentle waves. (I'm not still dreaming, I swear.) Hunger Games alum, Isabelle Fuhrman, chose a canary-yellow drop-waist dress by Paper London. I can almost feel my first sunburn, can't you? Finally, former Revenge star Ashley Madekwe looked like a (super-elegant) fruity, frozen concoction in a tri-color gown by Roksanda Ilincic. Wake me up when summer comes back, kthx.

When it comes to discussing the looks of leading ladies, no one finds the words quite like our friend Jarvis Derrell of #shehashadit. Jarvis sat down with Christina Garibaldi from MTV News to talk about the best and *achem* more risky fashion choices from the 2014 Golden Globes. They chat about wearing red on the red carpet, how to pull off a gown when pregnant, and so much more, all under four minutes!

I love these two as a couple. What a festive way to celebrate two important events in their life. Mariah looks like a dream.
