Here's the annoying thing about fall shopping: even though the ads come out in the summer, you can't buy the clothes until, you know, fall. We know that patience is a virtue and everything, but sometimes we reallyyyy just don't want to wait. And now we don't have to! Vans has just dropped its Fall 2012 lookbook, stocked with clothing, shoes, and adorable accessories that-get this- we can all buy RIGHT NOW. The photoshoot is inspiration enough alone, shot in sunny SoCal and featuring Vans sneaks paired with everything from minidresses to skinny jeans. These are some versatile kicks, ya'll.

We've been following the life cycle of Kanye West's latest Nike collaboration sneaker, the Air Yeezy 2, since our first whiff of the impending release at LAST YEAR's Coachella Festival. Since then, it's been all nail-biting anticipation and longingly tracing the path of that reptilian ridged heel in our dreams until we might finally entertain the thought of potentially owning these cool kicks. Late last month, Nike finally gave the sneakers an official release date: Saturday, June 9, 2012. Naturally, the shoes hit the Internet well before release in the form of $80,000+ eBay pre-orders, and sneakerheads started lining up many days in advance for their shot at the shoes. But what actually happened on Air Yeezy 2 release day?

We're barely on the eve of the highly anticipated public release of Kanye West's (sidebar: happy bday boo!) fly new sneaker collab with Nike, the Air Yeezy 2. The sneakers hit shelves June 9 (a.k.a. tomorrow!!), and we're sure the confirmed US release locations are already reinforcing their padlocks, clearing out floor space, and scheduling extra security for the official door openings. After those Foamposite Galaxy riots, you just can't be too careful. Few have been lucky enough to lay a finger on the snakeskin textured upper or molded reptilian heel, but pre-orders for the headline-making sneakers have already found their way onto the eBay auction listings.

Hold on to your hats, sneakerheads. Thanks to a long-awaited Nike press release, it looks like Kanye West's anticipated Air Yeezy 2 collaboration shoes finally have an official release date. Mark your calendars for June 9, folks. That's when the second coming of the Air Yeezy will hit Nike shelves near you. The release states that these kicks were created with "a primal, tactile approach to technology" in mind. It's evident in the snakeskin textured panels of the upper, the molded reptilian heel, and even the hieroglyphic details.

If you haven't gotten the memo, Theophilus London is a style icon. The rapper's fashion repertoire already includes a jewelry line and LVRS hat collection, but he decided to expand his stylish expertise even further to include—GASP—shoes! YUS. He collaborated with Del Toro (a company that specializes in making those too-cool-for-school velvet slippers that you'll often spot on Kanye West or Swizz Beatz's feet) to create a limited edition pair of embroidered loafers.

Okay, maybe that headline is just the teensiest bit misleading, BUT what else would you call these latest Jeffrey Campbell offerings?? Those top ones, the "Upend," appear to be some kind of cousin to the oxford, and the bottom shoe, JC's "Float," appears, at first glance, to be a perspex sandal. They both have lucite heels, but by no means would I consider these "lucite heels." These shoes (one thing we know they are!!) inhabit in a strange classification limbo, caught in an unchartered middle ground between flats and heels/wedges, and we're not quite sure how we feel about it.

Jay-Z may outfit Baby Blue Ivy in Jeremy Scott wings, but when it comes to his own footwear, Hov has taken a keen liking to buddy Kanye West's Nike collab kicks. The dude wears these Air Yeezy 2 sneakers EVERYWHERE. We've spied Jigga rocking these glow-in-the-dark soles from this swanky D'usse Cognac launch party to the stage at SXSW, and even on the beach!
So, this is a real thing: Christian Louboutin makes ballet shoes. SO cool, right? Ultra glam burlesque dancer Dita Von Teese received these custom-made red-soled pointe shoes for part of her onstage performance, and we CANNOT get enough of them. Not only do they come in a pure satin-y black, but she tweeted a photo of her giant Paris delivery, and it also included hot pink and sky blue pairs of the glorious shoes—one even has pink rhinestones along the front. KILLER. Since we basically grew up in a dance studio (thanks talented older sister!), we have a particular soft spot for the red-soled slipper. I mean, the pale pink color of typical pointe shoes is such a snoozefest! We think he should carry these bad boys in ALL dancewear stores across the globe because 1.) It'd be really, really fun and 2.) There NEEDS to be more couture in dance recitals, don't you think? (P.S.- Can we wear these IRL? Like, on the street? Because we would.)
The slow crawl to the weekend means we're one step closer to PROM. You've given your hairstyle a practice run, secured your dress, selected your accessories, and you're probably well on your way to locking down the PERFECT pair of shoes to complement it all. But maybe you're not that stoked on the idea of teetering around on a pair of ortho-murdering stilettos all night? Well, whether you're just not a heel girl or you're anticipating a grand footwear switch in the middle of your night out, we've compiled an arsenal of sneakers you can wear with whatever prom dress you might be rocking, thanks, in part, to inspiration from three sneaker-and-dress-wearing stylettes: Kristen Stewart, Hailee Steinfeld, and Lil Mama!
PRETTY IN PUNK

Kristen Stewart is kind of the patron saint of sneakers-with-dresses, notorious for changing into a pair of Vans or Converse kicks in the middle of awards shows. She's also a prime example of how to balance looking pretty AND punky in a dress and sneakers. K.Stew wore a pair of checkerboard Vans slip-ons with her dress, and you can implement the same idea in your prom look by opting for equally bold styles. Go for printed looks like these pink patterned slip-ons from ASOS ($63.63) or these graphic flatform high tops also from ASOS ($54.54). Add some edgy sparkle to your ensemble with these ASOS ($381.76) studded high tops, or add a major pop of color with some neon courtesy of Vans ($45.00). The key here is to keep the silhouette sleek and the upper loud and punchy.
Cinderella and her infamous glass slipper.

Did you know that it was National Princess Week? Neither did we, and it's already Friday! What does this mean? Well, we have some celebrating to do in the name of princesses everywhere. (We're gazing your way, Kate Middleton.) Looks like we aren't the only ones getting into the spirit, either. Christian Louboutin just announced via WWD that he will design a pair of glass slippers in honor of the Blu-Ray and DVD rerelease of Walt Disney's Cinderella this summer. Whatever will these "magic touch" creations look like?
