The wedge sneaker is everywhere this season including on Beyoncé's post-preg footsies, and according to WWD they have officially eclipsed smoking slippers as the "It Shoes" of the season. Can we get a round of applause please? Not only is it amazing that a totally COMFORTABLE shoe is getting its day in the spotlight, wedge sneakers—as a concept—are also worth celebrating. Combining a hi-top sneaker with hidden height? This is genius and mostly attributed to Isabel Marant (she of the Bey sneaks) whose design riff on Nike Dunks started the whole trend. Sadly, we have to pull a sad face where these covetable sneaks are concerned because they are waaaaay out of our price range ($680 - $760 = YIKES territory). Thankfully, many of our favorite stores are offering more affordable versions.
As expected, Blue Ivy Carter, is schooling the legions of celebrity kids with her impeccable street style. Sure, the girl's only a few months old and most (okay, ALL) of this style savvy is courtesy of mommy Beyonce and daddy Jay-Z, but you can't help but be charmed by it all. I mean, it's all the face-melting JOY we find in fashion but shrunken and squeezed down into itsy, bitsy, heartstring-plucking, baby dimensions! *coos uncontrollably* Latest in Baby Blue's fashion galivants are these adorable winged sneakers Poppa Hov posted to his blog with the caption, "Blue’s first flight."
Snooki and her Happy Feet slippers.

Ever since Snooki announced that she has a baby on the way (!!!), she's been dropping hints that she wants her new addition to be as fash-forward as possible. Just last night she tweeted that she wanted "give birth in heels" followed by a pic this morning of leopard and red patent leather platforms with the caption "My labor shoes! Bahahaha." (Looks like she wants to start her life as a new mom on the right foot. *ba-dum ching*) To put it simply: She ain't messing around when it comes to shoes, which is why she decided to expand her Happy Feet slippers collection into the world of children's and infant footwear, according to WWD. Yep, this means her fuzzy, sneaker-inspired slippers will be donned by little dudes everywhere—especially on her own. Happy Feet owner Pat Yates said Snooki "is extremely involved in the development. She’s extremely particular. She didn’t just sign and walk away. She’s involved in every facet, from the website design to the slippers.” The collection will be available at SnookiSlippers.com for $15 later this spring.
Nicki Minaj at the Kids' Choice Awards in L.A. on March 31.

It's clear that Nicki Minaj is still very much in the Tokyo spirit after her trip to the fash-forward city last month. She channeled the popcorn dress from her recent overseas visit at the 2012 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards this weekend by sporting another theater-themed frock paired with—get this—shoes made ENTIRELY of teddy bears! Barbs wore a pastel paneled latex dress featuring a movie ticket stub bustier and sculpted dome skirt with bubbles of theater paraphernalia dotted across her dress. If you can tear your eyes away from her out-of-this-world ensemble, you'll notice her accessory game is UN. REAL. Namely, those shoes. An up close look reveals that Nicki is sporting sky-high wedges covered entirely in light pink and blue teddy bears! A touch of pink chains are draped across the shoes for an added touch of glam, and we officially cannot stop staring at her stompers. The girl behind the custom shoe creation in none other than Onch from Onch Movement accessories!
To put it gently, our hearts exploded when we peeped Azealia Banks' Facebook status last night. It read: "Sooo.... Alexander Wang is making me a custom made dress AND custom made shoes?!?! *melts into mysterious blue liquid* *ooozes across floor*" Then, she followed up with a photo of the shoes (above) on Instagram, and we fuh-reaked out. Cutout black stacked heels in patent leather, lambskin, AND snakeskin? Dead. There's still no photo evidence of the dress (yet), but we're guessing it's something asymmetrical, black, and all-out amazing. I mean, I guess we shouldn't be TOO surprised the rapper is getting killer custom freebies considering she's become a serious fashion staple as of late. She just released a new track at a Chanel pop-up shop shindig in Tokyo, performed at Kanye West's Paris Fashion Week afterparty, and was the music behind the Mugler men's fall 2012 show. Also, remember that time she performed at Karl Lagerfeld's house? Yeahhhhh. We couldn't be more happy for Azealia, though, and we're super stoked that she has such a heavy influence on the fashion world. We LOVE seeing designers get inspired by some of our favorite musicians, and we can't wait to see what other custom clothes are coming down the pipe—as long as she keeps up that unbridled excitement (just like us!).

New sneakers from the Converse x DC Comics spring 2012 collection.

Comic book nerds rejoice! As Converse and DC Comics head into their sixth season of collaborating on the iconic Chuck Taylor sneakers, the dream team released two new designs for spring 2012 exclusively on Journeys.com—the Wonder Woman low-tops and the Killer Croc high-tops. Wonder Woman will be added to the already killer roster of Batgirl and Catwoman sneaks, and features a red, white, and blue pop art design that TOTALLY reminds us of Roy Lichtenstein's handiwork. (And that's super awesome.) An American flag design wraps around the back of the heel, with Wonder Woman hard-core smizing in her iconic gold tiara on the outer side of the shoes. The red and blue halftone extends to the rubber toe, and we LOVE the pop of azure blue on the tongue with her signature scrawled along the top of the laces. We could totally see sporting these bad boys with skinny jeans and a tee—especially at moments when you feel you need a pop of bold color with a serious side of woman empowerment. (I mean, let's be honest, any boy that challenges you to a dodgeball duel at recess in these sneaks has absolutely NO chance.)
Kanye West wearing the 'Air Yeezy 2' sneakers at the 2011 VMAs.

Just when we thought Kanye West's elusive "Air Yeezy 2" sneaker was just a pipe dream, Nike FINALLY released its first public production of the shoe. Streething got the scoop and showered us with amazing up-close images of the highly-anticipated sneaker, which Kanye actually sported at the 2011 VMAs (see above) and rocked last fall in black. The original "Air Yeezy" hit stores in April 2009, so fans have been waiting THIS long for the second shoe debut. Yeah, yeah we know 'Ye has been a wee bit busy, you know, working on those high fashion collections in Paris, but we cannot wait to see these bad boys in real life. Let's take a closer look, shall we?
Christopher Kane's Printed Silk-Blend Sandals.

Props to our friends at Fashion Indie for finding this GEM of a hot topic. If you're anything like us, you probably haven't even fully processed all the information bring transmitted to your oculars right now. You're probably thinking, "What the heck are Tevas doing on MTV Style??" Or you saw that Christopher Kane tip, did a double take, and were CONVINCED the fashion blogs had banded together for an elaborate style Rick Roll. We feel you. But doubt us not, little ones. The genius design mind behind laser cut neon, galaxy print, and gel-filled clutches is, in fact, also responsible for these bizarro, orthopedic-looking sandals. Just... WHY??
Beyoncé and Blue Ivy out together in New York.

New mommy Beyoncé and her baby girl Blue Ivy stepped out in NYC yesterday in THE cutest mother-daughter ensemble we have ever seen. Bey sported an open white blazer paired with rolled-up khakis, oversized sunglasses, and leopard mouse Marc Jacobs shoes. The most 'dorbs part is that Blue Ivy ALSO wore a head-to-toe beige ensemble (OK, fine, it was a white onesie) with matching gold Marc Jacobs mouse slippers! Awwwww. These tiny shoes retail for a whopping $66, but we kiiiiiiind of think it's totally worth it, right? (This is where you start nodding your head in agreement.)
Shoes from Madonna's new Truth or Dare line.

We DARE you not to squeal with sartorial delight after reading this: Madonna is making shoes. *Immediately burns shoe closet, turns up "Burning Up," cries* Yes (slash FINALLY) the "Girl Gone Wild" singer/salacious style Queen of the fashion-y Pop galaxy has partnered with Aldo Group Inc. to create some killer dance floor-ready kicks via her Truth or Dare label. An early image of the fall '12 collection teases us with a pretty pump, a studded stiletto complete with mini bow, and a red carpet-friendly-slash-sexy gilded heel. They're fine and wearable and kind of affordable ($89 to $349), BUT we're shivering under our desks imagining those promised knee-high bangin' boots that Madonna currently lives in (paired with those perpetual fingerless gloves), which we we live and J'DIE for.
