Katy Perry

Cop Katy Perry's sunflower-print Labor Day look for yourself!

Sure, she may wear designer threads (and GRILLS) on the red carpet, but off-duty, like for instance at her Labor Day party, Katy Perry reps casual, affordable clothes just like you and me! KP had some friends over to her L.A. home this weekend to celebrate the holiday and summer (our invites must've been lost in the mail), and instead of a hostess dress, Katy opted for Babysitters Club-reminiscent doubled up sunflower print.

Hungry 4 Hamburgers.
Photo: Urban Outfitters/1991 Inc./Shop Jeen/Fred Flare/Hot Topic/Society6

Happy Friday before Labor Day! The long weekend is practically here, we can taste it. You know what else we'll be tasting a lot of this weekend? Hamburgers. Cheeseburgers. Anything that has been cooked via the fire of a grill, basically. You can't properly honor the food you'll be feasting on if you don't parade around with that food on everything you own: you are what you eat, you eat what you wear. A motto to live by. Pick up these pieces for all the BBQs you'll be attending this weekend so you don't have to answer "hamburger or hot dog?" ever again.

Michael Jackson

Look bad (but in a good way) in this throwback Michael Jackson "Stan Swag."
Photo: Etsy

55 years ago today, Michael Jackson was born. The man has been and will continue to be a pop culture/music icon for decades, and on top of that, he had an inimitable personal style that always felt relevant and genuine in everything he did. In honor of what would have been the King of Pop's 55th birthday, we've rounded up a few of our favorite pieces of MJ Stan Swag. Because, honestly, who isn't a Stan for Michael?

Strawberry swag.
Photo: 1991 Inc./Urban Outfitters/Society6/ShopJeen/Lazy Oaf

Happy Friday before the VMAs, peeps! Since it's begun getting dark before 8 PM—the worst—we figured this installment of Food Friday should honor a prominent summertime food, one that is not only good on its own but a key ingredient in a number of summertime dishes. We're talkin' strawberries, y'all. While we can (and do) eat pizza and ice cream throughout the year with abandon, our strawberry consumption is limited to June-August, so we betta take advantage. If you wanna incorporate strawberry styles into your summer game, you're gonna have to act quickly, so we've rounded up the best strawberry-themed swag out there. The good news is that, unlike the actual fruit, these pieces will stay fresh the entire year, so, now you can have a strawberry [sweater] in February.

Lazy Oaf and Nasty Gal have combined forces and produced this fruit-filled dress (it's not actually filled with fruit, it's just the print, SO DON'T WORRY!) that not only features strawberries, but watermelons, cherries, all the faves, etc. Tip: this dress is perfect for any fruit-themed parties you may have in your social calendar. Another party possibility are these strawberry-printed peep-toe platforms from Urban Outfitters—they're on sale for $25, which, coincidentally is about the price of five containers of real strawberries, and one will last you a lot longer than the other, so...no brainer.

There's a graphic strawberry print iPhone case from Society6 that, in the colder months, will remind you that summer will return and you'll once again be able to eat as many strawberries as you want/are capable of. There's also a pair of strawberry socks from ShopJeen that, at $6 are quite a steal, TBH. The final piece of the collection is not only printed in the colors of a strawberry and its seeds, but actually features pictures of strawberries. Quite a few of them. We're, of course, talking about the 1991 Inc. Strawberry Sweater. Looking at this sweater is like looking in a bushel of strawberries (a sight I'm quite familiar with, JK!), or like looking in a container of strawberries you bought at the supermarket. Either way, better stock up on strawberries/strawberry swag while you can!

Biggie Smalls Merch

All The Notorious B.I.G. stuff you'll ever need.
Photo: 1991 Inc/Attic/Toao/Society 6/Etsy

The Notorious B.I.G. is Brooklyn, y'all. The late, great MC lived and breathed BK, and in honor of the 2013 VMAs being held in his hometown borough, we have to pay homage to Biggie Smalls and his roots. So, how do we do that? With clothes, duh. We scoured the internetz to find you the most decked-out Biggie duds so you can show off your Brooklyn pride in style. First up, we have a graphic stars and stripes sweater ($65) complete with a double dose of Biggie (in a Coogi sweater, no less!). This is a surefire way to let the world know you rep for the King of New York—in the coolest way possible.

WWCW: What Would Carrie Wear?
Photo: Splash/Nasty Gal

It's hard to imagine Carrie Bradshaw pre-Manolos (see also: "I've spent $40,000 on shoes and I have no place to live? I will literally be the old woman who lived in her shoes!" – SATC, Season 4). But as costume designer for The Carrie Diaries, Eric Daman (who, BTW, apprenticed with Pat Fields and basically bathed in a haute closet doing costumes on Gossip Girl) has done a totally ~radical~ job at doing just that. Like, totally. For sure.

French Fries Clothing

Nom nom nom.
Photo: Opening Ceremony/212 NYC/Lazy Oaf/Society 6/Forever 21

Guys, Food Friday is gettin' kinda serious over here. Every week we've been bringing you nom-worthy clothing and accessories (think: doughnut onesies and pizza backpacks), and today is no different! We're featuring our favorite go-to salty snack: French fries. (But, we have to admit, midway through our market search we totally caved and got some taters to snack on IRL. We go hard, y'all.) The first piece of fry-themed clothing we just HAD to share was this amazing printed button-down ($178) that we could pair with literally anything in our wardrobe to add a little flavor (heh). If you're looking for something a tad less out there, we like this muscle tee ($14) featuring a giant graphic of the salty stuff.

fulton street mall

The Fulton Street Mall.
Photo: MTV

As a Brooklyn native, there are certain places that you can’t help hold dear to your heart. Fulton Street Mall—the collection of stores in downtown Brooklyn that line Fulton from Flatbush Avenue to Adams Street—is sacred. It was my introduction to fashion and the gateway to my obsession with gold. In high school, it was THE hangout. We'd come from all four corners of BK to play hooky and peruse the displays, daydreaming about all that Polo and Iceberg we were going to buy with our allowance. It was like the window-shopping Olympics. We’d haggle with shop owners over Jordans and earrings and side-eye young boys who were not dressed to impress just as we’d swoon over the guys with complete Tommy Hilfiger ensembles. It was where you’d buy customized nameplate plexi keychains with your BFFs.

Calling it a “mall” always felt like a stretch since back then it was just a ton of outdoor, off-brand, non-chain stores but in function (boys and cutting class) it fit the vibe of any mall in America. Over the years, the Jewelry Bazaar was replaced by Armani Exchange and now we even have an H&M! But I still remember the collection of shops fondly and there are a couple of mainstays. Here’s five of my favorite oldies but goodies.

Rihanna goes casual for dinner in a Frank 151 t-shirt.
Photo: Getty Images/Frank 151

Rihanna's newest collection from her collab with River Island was just released, and it features a number of very glam, yet sporty pieces, like baseball jerseys, letterman jackets, and mesh dresses. With sports on da mind, it only makes sense that Rih hit NYC last night in a shirt that features the likes of Pat Riley, Vince Lombardi, and George Steinbrenner. The shirt, which Rihanna wore to dine with pal Katy Perry, is by Frank 151 X Hall of Fame Chapter 51, comes in black and white, and is, reasonably, $32. The men on the shirt are described on the Frank 151 site as "reek[ing] of polished gold." Yeah, I'm pretty sure Rihanna also knows a thing or two about polished gold.

I love these two as a couple. What a festive way to celebrate two important events in their life. Mariah looks like a dream.
