Bikini Kill V Files

Even though we weren't technically old enough to appreciate Kathleen Hanna when she fronted riot grrrl punk rock group Bikini Kill in the '90s, we sure as HECK were able to get down with her electroclash band Le Tigre when we were well into our rebellious stage. (See: high school.) Kathleen was (and still is!) a hero to all us girls who felt like we didn't fit in and empowered us to be the strong ladies we are today, so when we heard that Bikini Kill teamed up with VFiles for an exclusive capsule collection, we pretty much flipped out. The four-piece line features a remake of Kathleen's iconic "Kill Me" T-shirt dress ($75), which she wore onstage in 1993. She said, "The point of the 'Kill Me' dress is to raise questions about violence against women and, specifically, what constitutes a woman 'asking for it?' If she gets drunk at a party? Calls a guy a jerk? Wears a dress that says 'KILL ME' on it? It also states the obvious, whether you wear a dress that says 'KILL ME' on it or not, as a woman you always have a bullseye on your chest."

rihanna

Rihanna wears a 'Na$ty' sweatshirt while out in Belgium.
Photo: Splash News/ MISBHV

It's a good thing that you can never have too many basic grey crewnecks in your closet because Rihanna just convinced us that we need to add YET ANOTHER one to our already overflowing collection. Sigh. But unlike some of RiRi's other outfits, this is a key piece we can actually afford! The pop star was spotted out in Belgium earlier this week (shortly after having dinner with Azzedine Alaia ...what?!) wearing a heather gray sweatshirt emblazoned with the word "Na$ty" across the chest. The top was the perfect cool, casual complement to her black miniskirt and strappy two-toned flats, and it's great news for the rest of us, because we've just tracked down where you can nab it for yourself.

miley cyrus stan swag

Miley stans turn it up.

We've said it before, and we'll say it again: this is THE week of Miley Cyrus. Although it might not be an "official" holiday (meaning, we still have to go to school and work, womp womp), that's OK because at least we've got Miley's epic new single to keep us entertained until the weekend! The singer dropped "We Can't Stop" on Monday, marking one of the early tiptoes into her long-awaited jump back into music. And we definitely don't have to tell you just how far she's come since her last release (um...hi, remember Can't Be Tamed?). It's only been three years since her previous record, but with her new haircut, revamped image, and envelope-pushing personal style, it might as well be lightyears. Hannah Montana is officially in the past, y'all...THIS is the Miley of the future. We love her, and because we love you, too, we've rounded up the very best Smiler swag to celebrate!

Lauren Conrad Kohls Summer Collection

Dang, Lauren Conrad is KILLING it lately. Just yesterday, she launched her first ever bedding collection for Kohl's, and today, she released the rest of her LC Lauren Conrad summer line—not to mention, while simultaneously prepping for her Infamous book tour which hits shelves next week. Last month, LC released some sneak peek images from her warm-weather Kohl's collection (see: lots of lace and feminine frocks), but now, we have even MORE reasons to be excited for the summery days ahead. (Psst, all the looks you're about to see will be available to purchase on Kohls.com later this month!) We're OB. SESSED. with her graphic black and white maxi dress because it's equally as edgy as it is flattering. She also shows off a classically-cool black ditsy floral frock with a 'dorbs headband braid and teal nails.

Lauren Conrad Kohls

It's no surprise that after many (many!) successful clothing lines with Kohl's that Lauren Conrad has officially decided to start expanding her empire outside of fashion--into interior design! This morning, she announced on her blog that she JUST launched her first-ever bedding collection with the brand, which includes everything from sheets to duvets to decorative pillows. The former Hills girls said, "Bedding is new territory for me as a designer, and I am so pleased with how my first collection turned out. I love decorating my home, so this was a very natural next step. Like my clothing line with Kohl’s, the collection is classic and feminine. I looked to details like ruffles, bows, and floral prints to make this collection a reflection of my ladylike aesthetic. My hope was to take 'beauty rest' to a whole new level." Heh, we love a good ol' play on words, LC. ;)

beyonce

Listen, we're well aware that Beyonce's tickets for The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour definitely DON'T come cheap. While the steep price tag is undoubtedly worth each and every second of King Bey arena-style goodness (also, those outfits!), when there's a chance to see her for practically free, well, you'd better bet we're going to take it. That's basically what's happening with Rue La La's fifth anniversary promotion. The online flash sale site is going ALL OUT for its birthday, selling one (sadly, only one) 16-person VIP suite at Beyonce's August 5th Barclays Center show for only $5! It's one of several seriously awesome steals the company is offering to customers—others include a Birkin bag and a Rolex watch—but you've got to click fast in order to score, because it's first come, first serve.

Teen Wolf Stan Swag

'Teen Wolf' stan swag!

OH. MY. GAH. It's only T-minus 3 days until the season 3 premiere of Teen Wolf (!!!), and we could NOT be more pumped for its killer (heh) return. We can't wait to see Scott and the gang back on our small screen, and to celebrate, we've rounded up some seriously stylish options to show off your werewolf fandom come Monday. Now, this isn't the typical wear-the-name-of-the-show-on-your-shirt steez--we wanted to pick some pieces that you'd actually sport IRL. One of our personal favorites is this "Sourwolf" necklace, which commemorates one (of many) amazing quotes by Stiles. ("Don't be such a sour wolf!") Only true Teen Wolf stans will get the reference, and, of course, we're obsessed with that.

Karen Walker, Uniqlo

Between past partnerships with brands like Lulu Guiness and most recently, Suno, Uniqlo is NO stranger to some seriously awesome collabs. That being said, rarely does fashion news send such a collective gasp throughout the MTV Style HQ as Uniqlo's most recent recruit, Karen Walker. If you read this blog, then you're already well-acquainted with the fact that our love for the New Zealand designer runs deep. We're talking far beyond her consistently adorable printed pants, quirky blouses, and statement sunglasses, into potentially disastrous "recreate her dramatic runway beauty look" territory (*shudder*). Anyway, now that she's teamed up with the Japanese retailer on a wallet-friendly collection of tees, channeling Walker's effortlessly cool vibe has never been easier.

Mac Miller Neff

Dang, if there's one thing we can't get enough of here at MTV Style, it's musicians collaborating with fashion brands. (I mean, hi, look at the name of our blog.) By now we've dissected everything from Rihanna's River Island line to Kanye West's couture womenswear to Nick Minaj's still-in-progress Kmart collection, and today we're adding yet another name to the ever-growing list—Mac Miller. The rapper is known for sticking to his super comfy (yet stylish!) T-shirt and hat game, so he teamed up with Neff, a clothing brand that's know for their classically bold staples (who also collabed with Riff Riff earlier this spring). Founder Shaun Neff said, "We were looking last year at who would be in front of the music and fashion world and Mac miller was our top guy to work with."

I love these two as a couple. What a festive way to celebrate two important events in their life. Mariah looks like a dream.
