Iggy Azalea

Iggy Azalea for Revolve Clothing.
Photo: Revolve

When we first heard that Iggy Azalea would star in Revolve Clothing's summer campaign, we immediately wondered what it would look like. A continuation on her Clueless "Fancy" steez? Glitter and glitz à la "Change Your Life"? Or something more along the lines of the "Work" video's fashion-road-trip realness? Now we have our answer. Revolve was kind enough to share the campaign images with us and, WHOA, they're gorgeous.

Iggy's campaign style, Revolve says, adds "edge to feminine pieces with unexpected layers, pastels, leather, and floral." Her layering game is on point throughout the campaign, but one of my favorite images is her entirely white outfit, with a flood of florals and colors on the sleeves of her jacket. Is there an outfit more perfect for early summer? I don't think so.

With prom season in full swing, we've been keeping our eyes peeled for the best dresses out there on the interwebz. Last week we brought you dresses under $150 and between $150 and $350, but today we're breaking out the big guys. We looked around for the 10 dresses we think are worth the splurge. We're talking big bucks here—$350 and up—so we only included ones we are 100% in love with. Check 'em out below!

SOLID AND STRUCTURED

Prom 2014

If you're in the market for a dress that is, as far as prom dresses go, simple and something you may wear again, these three dresses are what you're looking for. The first option, a peachy color, is structured at the top, but flares into a full skirt at the bottom ($348). The second, besides being a gorgeous royal blue, is structured in an unusual way—you're guaranteed to have one of the most unique skirts at prom ($398). The final option is a simple, strapless red dress that you can definitely wear after prom, if you so choose ($425). It might be a little formal, but if I owned that dress I'd wear it to, like, brunch. I'd want everyone to see it constantly.

Rihanna

While we are big fans of Rihanna's style, it's, um, not always easy to dress like her. See-through skirts just don't fly at the office and we tend to wear shirts when we go out to dinner. There are a few Rihanna-helmed trends that we would like to get in on, though, like wearing your robe outside and borrowing Drake's Astrid Andersen coat. Between Astrid Andersen, Balmain, and Chanel, there are a lot of Rihanna looks that we can't afford, either, which is why when we saw her in a Lovers + Friends sweatshirt, we knew we had to jump at the opportunity to cop some RiRi-approved clothing for ourselves.

The sleeveless gray sweatshirt is pretty ideal for transitioning seasons—it'll keep your upper body warm, but let your arms enjoy the warm air. Until it's actually hot enough to go sleeveless, though, it's perfect to layer under a coat. No sleeves means no bulky arms! It's like a very elaborate dickey. The neon orange text will also let people know that you're a lover, not a fighter. That's a pretty good message to broadcast, IMHO.

Selena Gomez

Selenators, how are you holding up? It may feel like you just made space in your closet for Selena Gomez's Adidas NEO Spring 2014 collection, but you're gonna need to clear some more. The Summer 2014 collection is here and—guess what?—you're going to love it. Plus, it'll fit in seamlessly with the pieces from the spring collection because it follows the same aesthetic. Yep, it's got that "Sup? I'm a rebel" vibe.

There are a number of printed pieces, including a monochromatic floral romper that Selena wears to create drawings on a chalkboard. In the campaign video, when she's done with her art, she smears the chalk with her forearm. If that's not rebellious I don't know what is, TBH.

Yesterday we brought you prom dress options for under $150. Today we bumped the budge higher—up to $350—and found 10 more dresses that are totally perfect for prom. These options are affordable and high-quality—you may even want to wear your dress after prom. Yeah, that's how good they are. Check out all 10 picks below!

OVERLAY OBSESSED

Prom

Based on our research (aka trolling our favorite websites), we can confirm that sheer overlay is a huge trend for Prom 2014. The first dress option is classic and feminine, with black lace on top of a nude bodice ($198). The full skirt is perfect for twirling, which is all that really matters at prom. The second option is one of the few colorful lace options we saw out there, which automatically makes it a contender ($179). The third option is the most expensive on the page ($338), but, I mean, look at it. The strong lines across the front create a harness effect, which toughens the dress up without completely undermining the delicate lace. The final option is a bold choice cause who knows what types of foods and drinks will be spilled at prom, but it's also worth it ($170). It's prom—live on the (sartorial) edge!

Sky Ferreira

We already knew before we hit play that Sky Ferreira’s new video for “I Blame Myself” would be all about the clothes. For her new My Night, My Time single, Sky teamed up with online retailer Ssense and System magazine on what could be the future of pop music: the shoppable music video. Ssense and System have made a few changes to the format since they released the first shoppable music video with Iggy Azalea. In the new format, you shop after you watch—rather than as it plays—which doesn’t take us out of the video’s world, which is, in this case, an abandoned lot. Of course, the clothes, front and center, do not disappoint.

In the opening scene, the camera tricks us for a moment into thinking we’re staring at the back of a dude before it does a 180º and we see that it’s actually Sky. She’s styled in a Givenchy star patch leather bomber jacket, a Christopher Kane hoodie, Saint Laurent crystal-embellished tights, a Saint Laurent biker skirt, and an amazing pair of black-and-white basketwoven Acne kicks with beaded flower Simone Rocha socks.

Prom season is surrounding us, peeps. It's already mid-April (HOW?) and the big day is approaching. Fast. If you haven't started looking for your dress, shoes, accessories, etc.—don't worry, we got you. We took a few online trips to some of our favorite retailers and rounded up the best prom dresses out there this season, all for under $150. OK, let's stop talking and start shopping—these bad boys are prob not gonna last much longer.

METALLIC MINIS

Prom 2014

A metallic dress may look expensive, but there are plenty of cheap options out there. Here are three. The first is a gold metallic number ($115) with geometric threaded detailing and shoulder cutouts. While the shoulders and dress length show some skin, the rest is totally full coverage, which means you'll be able to dance and pose for pictures without constantly adjusting. The second option is a two-tone metallic dress with an unusual neckline and flared skirt ($150). Because this dress is so reflective, it'll appear as different colors throughout the night—multiple dresses for the price of one! Finally, there's this silver-and-black fitted mini ($43), which, post-prom, can def. be incorporated into your everyday wardrobe.

Are shoppable music videos the wave of the future? Some people might think that. OK, it's me—I think that. Considering the blurring divide between editorial and commerce, and fashion and music, the video genre seems primed to take off. There’s also the fact that music videos are really expensive and, as they’ve become more and more about the clothing, getting killer looks for them can be a budgetary hurdle, especially if you’re an emerging artist without designers lining up to loan you looks.

Online retailer Ssense is making a case for the shoppable music video, along with their partner System magazine. First they teamed up with Iggy Azalea when she was a wee spitfire back in 2012 on the video for “I Think She Ready.” (As we noted last week when her Revolve campaign was announced, Iggy is kind of a pioneer in this realm.) Now, they’re working with another artist at the forefront of the intersection of music and fashion, Sky Ferreira, on the video for her new single “I Blame Myself.”

Blink and you might have missed Revolve’s cameo in the Clueless-themed video for Iggy Azalea and Charli XCX’s “Fancy.” The online retailer played the very important role of providing the closet-organizing app for Iggy. As it turns out, their appearance in the video was more than just your run-of-the-mill product placement and a reminder that a closet organizing app needs to exist. (If you know of any good apps Cher would approve of, please holler this way.) It was IRL foreshadowing that Iggy and Revolve would team up. The Aussie rapper is slated to be the next face of the brand.
