It's no secret that one of our favorite parts of any awards show is the nail art. We even had our own nail-art cam at the MTV Movie Awards. Yeah, we're serious about nail decorations, which is why we enlisted the help of nail-art genius Miss Ladyfinger to show us how to recreate our fave looks on our nails. And let it be known, she didn't simply remake pre-existing nail art for us—she translated outfits into nail art. This is big stuff, you guys.
One look from the show that we want on our nails ASAP is Rihanna's Hyein Seo performance outfit, which Miss Ladyfinger helped us achieve. Peep below for a GIF tutorial and get paintin'! (She painted this art on herself, BTW.)

First, paint all of your nails using Revlon Sheer Sweetie. The iridescent white base provides a uniform surface for your text, but doesn't distract from it.

Hellooooo, Nicki Minaj! *mimics a honking semi-truck and makes obnoxious wolf noises* We're big fans of Nicki's understated McQueen look from the 2014 MTV Movie Awards red carpet. The whole ~subtle~ thing is really working for Queen Barb, and we are very much here for it. Thus, we enlisted the help of nail art mastermind Miss Ladyfinger to help us immortalize Nicki's look as a manicure, just in case McQueen formalwear doesn't exactly fit into your personal financial plan. For this look, all you'll need is a bottle of Revlon Nail Enamel in Knockout and a super-skinny nail-art brush (and a steady hand, but IDK where you can buy such a thing).

Start by painting a thin line along the curve of each nail to mimic the curve of her dress.

Only a few days left until Coachella! Are you going? And more important, if so, are you ready? If you're anything like us, you don't even start thinking about packing until the very last minute, which can be pretty stressful and often leads to waaay over-packing. If that sounds like you, we're here to help with a little checklist to make sure you're hitting all the style necessities for the California desert.

Whether you're on spring break or gearing up for it, you know that it doesn't last long. You've gotta cherish that week. Savor it. You can't dedicate a lot of time to putting on makeup, which is why spring 2014's trend of no-makeup makeup is perfect for ~sprang breeaak~. While it will appear as though you have no makeup on, the look actually requires just a few products to help you appear fresh. Below are some tips—if you try the look out be sure to share it with us on Twitter and Instagram using #covermoment!
You've booked a sweet trip somewhere sandy and warm for spring Break. You're (mentally) ready to flee the polar vortex and its late-March snowstorms, but do you know what you're BRINGING WITH YOU? *cue screeching brakes and a tight zoom on your face* Didn't think so. Don't worry, we're here to help with a few key items that will make your SB packing just a liiittle bit easier.
DAY-TO-NIGHT MAXI DRESS
When you go on a trip, especially with a big group of people, you never know where the day (or night) is going to take you. Be prepared for anything with a day-to-night maxi dress that can take you from the beach to dinner and back again.

It's that time again! We're nearing the end of the month, which means it's time to spotlight the past 30 some-odd days' BEST #covermoment submissions. With the weather warming up and spring being officially here (warm temps coming later in some places than others... *achem* east coast can you hear me?), the beauty selfie game is similarly heating up and it's getting harder and harder to pick faves. Want to see your face here? Keep submitting your gorgeous mug with the hashtag for a chance to get it featured on covermoment.com and potentially MTV Style!

DEM BROWS! @Brittneybabydoll, you are giving Cara Delevingne a run for her money with those face-framing arches, girl. This selfie is a top-notch #covermoment: your skin is SUPER luminescent and flawless, your face is relaxed but not bored, your hair is enviably wild, and WOW, your baby blues pop with that minimal eye makeup.
It might be hard to believe for those of us on the East Coast (currently 27 degrees Fahrenheit in NYC), but it's spring, y'all! Sure, there's all that "April showers" and "May flowers" stuff on the way, but the onset of the ~vernal equinox~ also means SPRANG BRAAAAYYYYYK (that's "Spring Break" said in the style of James Franco's Alien if that reference escaped you). In case you need a little inspiration to get you excited about the return of swimsuit season (albeit trusty, the classic triangle can get a little tired sometimes), here are some ideas.
A swimwear spin on the crop top trend, a ruffled bikini adds a little extra volume to the top of a two-piece. Try it in a solid for a feminine look that isn't super precious or in a tiny, ditsy floral print if you're really into boho.
AHHH! Tonight is the Teen Wolf season finale! It's hard to believe that we only have one episode left after last week's gut-wrenching farewell to Allison Argent, but those are just the facts. To bide your time while you're re-watching this season (it's marathoning on MTV RIGHT NOW), we've drawn up a quick and easy nail art tutorial for you to show off your supreme fandom and carry a piece of the #WolfPack with you even after the season ends. Let's get to it!

Start by painting your two base coats. For this particular look, you'll want to paint your thumb and ring fingers with COVERGIRL Outlast Stay Brilliant nail polish in Black Diamond and the rest of your digits with Snow Storm.

With a teeny-tiny nail art brush, take the Black Diamond and outline a half moon shape on your white nails. Don't worry too much about whether the lines are the same thickness or not, you'll end up painting over them. Just make sure the half moon shape near your cuticle is relatively smooth. Pro tip: Maybe don't chug a cup of coffee before you attempt this nail look. #oops
Earlier this month, when Becky G was on the East Coast on the "MTV Artist To Watch Tour," we were lucky enough to go backstage and have Becky show us how she gets ready for her performances. Besides serving up a mean Austin Mahone impression, Becky does all her own makeup (and hair) on tour! No wonder she's a COVERGIRL—she is an eyeliner master. Seriously, watch her nail a cat eye.
