Forgive us if words run together for a bit. We're just in such a state of paralyzing shock right now. It's just so rare that (A) a slew of starlets decide to swaddle themselves in the same color at the same event and (B) that a mere 10 minutes into an award ceremony's preshow red carpet coverage, we've already LOCKED down a trend. *wipes away a single happy tear* A resounding thank you to the ladies in red at the 2011 Emmy Awards from the bottom of our hearts for not only making our lives a little bit easier, but also a lot more beautiful.
While there's always that initial fear of whether one should wear red on the red carpet, Nina Dobrev threw caution to the wind, and it WORKED. The Vampire Diaries actress absolutely stunned in this drop-dead strapless scarlet Donna Karan with a voluminous fishtail that is SO bodycon it looks straight-up sewn onto her impossibly hourglass physique. Adrianne Palicki also wore a fire-engine-colored frock, but hers was a satin sweetheart neckline with a halter and seductive thigh-high slit by Dolce & Gabbana. Lea Michele's floor-length Marchesa with its ruched shoulder embellishments and sweeping open back was a vision of Hollywood glamour.
