Summer might be all about sundresses and shorts on the surface, but take another look and you'll see there's another seasonal staple that many people forget: the summer suit. Sure, it might SOUND stuffy, but take it from Rita Ora, Sunday Girl, and St. Vincent as proof that the office uniform can still totally work after 5 pm...just with a few key changes. We've already told you how Rita Ora's been wearing monochromes like none other recently, and we're still in love with the white-hot Hussein Chalayan number she wore all the way back in February. The tuxedo-style suit shows that unlike shoulder pads and big hair, this is ONE '80s trend we can get down with.

Nike x Liberty's New Sky High Dunk Trainers.

We've already officially named the sneaker wedge the IT shoe of the season, and clearly we're not the only ones obsessed. Hot on the heels (heh) of high fashion favorites like Isabel Marant, Marc Jacobs, and Y-3, some major athletic brands are getting in on the trend as well. Enter Nike's third Liberty of London collab, which just hit the internet. The collection is replete with the signature ditsy florals and Swoosh that we're used to seeing, but these kicks ALSO come with an extra couple of inches of height. The company has revamped the classic Nike Dunk style into a heeled shoe that's sleeker and sportier than the Marant or Marc versions, but just as stylish. Plus, an added bonus: the so-called "remixed" edition keeps many of the sporty Nike Dunk qualities, like the comfy lightweight sole and easy fit. These Dunk Sky Highs might not work on the basketball court, but you can bet they'll get you from point A to point B in record time. Can your Louboutins do that?!

First Aid Kit

The sounds from SXSW, Coachella, and Pitchfork might still be ringing in our ears, but hold up! Festival season isn't over quite yet. There’s still Lollapalooza, the three-day music extravaganza happening this weekend in Chicago. With too many bands to keep track of (including headliners like M83, The Black Keys, Jack White, and Florence and the Machine), the event is MASSIVE--from the ridiculously awesome lineup to the mile-long trek from one end of the grounds to the other. Luckily, this means there's ample opportunity to check out festival street style, so we're spending the weekend pounding the pavement (er, grass) to find some of the coolest-dressed people in Grant Park.

On day one, our first stop was backstage, where we peeped performers like Metric's Emily Haines, who told us she she loves vintage sunglasses, Die Antwoord, and Neon Indian. We also snagged sisters Johanna and Klara Söderberg, of the Swedish folk duo First Aid Kit, to talk festival must-haves fresh off their Lolla performance. "We always take the same things on the road with us," Johanna told us. "One pair of comfortable shoes, one pair of really nice shoes that we only wear onstage, earplugs, and dry shampoo! Dry shampoo is so important."

Rachel Bilson, Katie Cassidy, Emmy Rossum

The kids of the CW, CBS, and Showtime had a major reason to celebrate over the weekend: they were feting their already highly successful shows, introducing new ones, and prepping for the upcoming television season. In other words, let the countdown begin! And while we have to wait until September to veg out to favorites like Hart of Dixie, Shameless, and the new CW series Arrow , at least we don't have to wait to obsess over the stars' fashion choices. Rachel Bilson, Katie Cassidy and Emmy Rossum all turned out to the event looking every bit the part of Hollywood PYTS in black and white ensembles. Although all three ingenues may have stuck to a similar color scheme, they each totally gave the monochromatic look their personal spin with menswear-inspired touches, fabrics like lace, and pops of cherry red.

Frank Ocean, Orange

Frank Ocean's new album "Channel Orange" reminds us that orange is BIG for fall.

Okay, so this probably isn't exactly what Frank Ocean was going for when he titled his premier full-length album Channel Orange. In fact, we know it isn't since Ocean told KCRW’s Chris Douridas after the Orange listening party that the title referred to a neurological condition called "synesthesia" wherein the afflicted associates colors with letters and numbers. It's a reference to the color he saw the summer he first fell in love. And knowing Ocean's penchant for the poetic and his storied affinity for all things zen, we think there might also be a (perhaps subconscious) throw there to Buddhist monks' traditional orange robes and the religion's use of the color as a symbol of wisdom, strength and dignity. On the FASHION side of things, we can't help but twiddle our fingers with glee at how nicely this coincides with 2012's Pantone Color of the Year: Tangerine Tango. The citrus hue was EVERYWHERE on the Fall/Winter 2012 New York Fashion Week runways this past February, and Frank's prodigious debut album (along with being RIDICULOUSLY honest and hypnotic) reminds us of the color trend that will help carry over a little needed summertime into the colder months.

Kat Graham

Our love of Kat Graham is not one we express too subtly here at MTV Style. Her sartorial acrobatics and unabashed wielding of all the hottest beauty trends are things we applaud on the DAILY around here, and this day is no exception. Kat was scheduled to appear and perform for a charity event with Bing and DoSomething.org this week, and for said event, Miss Graham skipped her trademark sleek ponytail for a short, sassy, curlicue 'do. She also wore not one, but TWO boldly printed ensembles that together make for a kind of work-to-weekend scenario.

Demi Lovato, Katy Perry And Amy Heidemann.

Who cares if we weren't alive to experience the awesomeness of victory rolls when they first appeared on the scene back in the 1940s? Now the trend is back and more modern than ever. Just ask Demi Lovato, Katy Perry and Amy Heidemann, who are all giving a fresh spin on the pinup fad with their own (and very different!) takes on the look. Take Demi, for example. She's been working the fashion game hard on the X-Factor red carpet these days in Topshop, Topshop...oh, and more Topshop. On the show's audition tour thus far she's paired the mass retailer with pink ombre hair and high ponytails, but we've got to admit- the brand's neon orange dress and motorcycle jacket she rocked this week looks unexpectedly awesome with her retro 'do, don't you think?!

Followers of Azealia Banks shouldn't be surprised by her mermaid album art for Fantasea. The girl has been sharing her love for the mythical sea people for nearly as much time as she's been in the public eye tweeting pictures of her latest iteration of mermaid hair or barnacle-encrusted accessories almost daily. Sure, we've seen both Lady Gaga and Katy Perry suit up in fins before, but the way Azealia has absorbed the mermaid steez into her personal everyday steez and identity begs to be discussed, especially for its winks toward the growing EDM seapunk subculture.

Often when we think of Paris Haute Couture (you know, as we do), we imagine the world's best designers going buck wild, cobbling together teetering two-story-high platform heels, dreaming up dresses that look more like architectural masterpieces than cocktail party wear, and concocting hairstyles that seem to defy all laws of physics and gravity. The designs that traipse down the runways during this biannual City of Lights affair are often too fairy-tale fantastic for us to ever envision pulling off IRL. However, that doesn't mean there aren't real trends buried in the bells and whistles and Hot Wheels racetrack harnesses of Paris Haute Couture Week, though. Walk with us as we unpack some of the week's most relevant trends!

Nearly every designer at Haute Couture Week had a version of the jumpsuit, and most were printed, embellished, or constructed from metallic jacquard. Many of the long-pants onesies were also long-sleeved, like these looks from Zuhair Murad, Jantaminiau, and Valentino. But, a few, like this number by Jean Paul Gaultier, modelled by Karli Kloss, were strapless with a jacket worn over top.

Rihanna's monochromatic street style on June 24, 27, and 28, 2012.
Photo: Getty Images/Splash News

Well well WELL, Rihanna! Don't think we haven't noticed your little street style trend as of late. We're on to you and your monochromatic ways. Wearing one hue head-to-toe like it just happened that way or something. We almost weren't going to say anything until we saw you step out in London in this all-black everything (no, really) ensemble last Thursday - black Brooklyn Nets snapback (a display of pure Roc Nation love, no doubt), black wayfarer shades, black tee, black warmup suit, black Air Yeezy 2s. Seems easy enough, right? WRONG. Anyone who's tried to put together an entirely black outfit knows clothes come in varied shades of black with green, red, and blue undertones, it's an almost-impossible feat to accomplish. That is, unless you're Rihanna.
