Justin Bieber and his mustache in the trailer for 'Believe.'
In case you missed the widely circulated memo, Justin Bieber's new movie, Believe, is coming out Christmas Day. If you are not a hardcore Belieber, I would avoid going to the movies that day, because it's been three years since the release of Never Say Never, and the Beliebers are HUNGRY for more. A lot has changed since 2011, when bb Biebs had hair that swooped, a hairless face, and no tattoos. Now Biebs has a half-sleeve, a 'do that goes up rather than over, and what has become known as a "dirty 'stache."
In case you haven't watched the new trailer for Believe, I'll fill you in: Bieber decided to keep his tiny, sparse mustache for the movie's interview, where he gets #real and talks about everything that he's gone through in the past year, from attacking the paparazzi to falling in love. MTV was lucky enough to speak with Jon M. Chu, the movie's director, about the 'stache and how it ended up fitting in with the story's arc.
Right on the heels of the release of Katy Perry's "Unconditionally" music video, Iggy Azaela sat down with the new COVERGIRL on MTV to talk about the vid, touring, songwriting, and what she would name a cat if it were presented to her (Kiggy, obviously). Both looked fabulous as always.
Iggy skewed very formal for your average interviewer, decked out in her much talked about 2013 EMA cut-out dress by Dilek Hanif, Cartier jewelry, and red Jimmy Choo shoes. Katy, on the other hand, wore a look that was totally different from her turquoise Zac Posen dress, her mirrored performance outfit, and her fishnet/Chanel post-show dress. She opted instead for a short, Peter Pan collar dress from Shibuya 109 in Tokyo, which she paired with black knee socks. (If you're keeping track, that brings her to a total of 4 outfits that night. *wipes sweat off upper lip*
Just in time for the widespread onset of seasonal affective disorder, A$AP Rocky released the music video for his moody "Phoenix" track (exclusively on MTV's RapFix, BTW *hair flip*). Rocky's lyrics touch on suicidal thoughts and musings on mortality, and appropriately, the video is dark to reflect the heavy topics explored in the song. Directed by Francesco Carrozzini (who shot the Harlem MC for the cover of L'uomo Vogue), the video carries the weight of a short film and employs a pretty star-studded cast to boot: Michael K. Williams of Boardwalk Empire and The Wire fame and our girl, supermodel Joan Smalls. All our Rocky-stanning (and being fam with Joan, of course) has come to fruition because MTV Style was fortunate enough to get an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the video and (duh) its wardrobe!
A still from 'Searching,' a short film starring Selena Gomez.
When we peeped Selena Gomez's Flaunt Magazine spread last week, we were totally digging her blunt bob. Despite our positive feelings, in the corresponding short film that was just released, it's clear Selena was not feeling her new 'do.
The video begins with Selena in bed, in the same lingerie/skirt combo from the shoot. Also in bed? That shirtless guy! He's known by his family, friends, and fans as Shiloh Fernandez. He plays guitar (shirtless), nuzzles Selena (shirtless), and smiles (shirtless). Just as we were getting used to him, he disappears.
MTV's Artist To Watch this week is none other than our fave barrette-wearing singer, Lorde. When Lorde was in New York recently, we had a chance to chat with her about her fashion choices and her ah-may-zing hair.
Lorde revealed that she's really into "goth vibes" (those vibes seem to be making the rounds: Rihanna's #ghettogoth steez, anyone?), even though she says the goth community may shun her. Don't exclude the lady holding strong at #1 on the Billboard charts for the fifth week in a row, goths!
Beyonce on set at her 2014 calendar shoot.

As if we weren't excited enough about Beyonce's first-ever calendar, this morning B released a behind-the-scenes video of the calendar shoot. We love nothing more than a behind-the-scenes video but add Beyonce? This is all of our fave things wrapped up in one perfect package.
As a member of the Ever-Changing Hair Club™ (other members include Rihanna and Rita Ora), Bey's hair changes with each outfit/month of the calendar. The first 'do we see is platinum, which matches her entirely white outfit. Maybe this shot is for August as a reminder to wear all your white—even together, like B!—before Labor Day.
Praise be to VH1 and TLC for this biopic (airing tonight at 9 p.m. EST)! Not only does it give us a look at some previously untold TLC history—by way of Drew Sidora, Keke Palmer, and Lil Mama—CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story afforded us the opportunity to talk to T-Boz and Chilli themselves about the wardrobing process for the film and the group's rise to style infamy which maaaayyyy or may not have caused this writer to go into cold sweats immediately following this interview. It's not every day you get the chance to talk to your heroes, OK??
It's no secret that we're big fans of Selena Gomez around here at MTV Style: we keep up to date on her hairstyles, who she's hanging out with, and what she's wearing on tour. As big-time Selenators, imagine how excited we were when we found out that we'd get to chat with Selly about her "Stars Dance" tour wardrobe, her role in the design process, and how she changes outfits so many times. We were the most excited.
A still from Britney Spears' 'Work B****' video.

Britney's baaaaack! The Princess of Pop's video for her new single "Work B*****" dropped last night and while it doesn't feature only luxury bikinis, it definitely features a lot of them. The video also features B in dresses, a long-time Spears standby crop top/long pants combo, and various bustiers. Intrigued as to how she fits all those looks in under 4 minutes? It takes work, b****!

The video opens with Britney in a tasseled silver bikini top and tiny silver shorts. Like, if not for the swinging tassels, it would be easy to believe those bad boys were painted on. She's surrounded by dancers in long-sleeved leather leotards and OTK boots, so they better hope they don't fall in the pool. None of these looks is conducive to swimming, TBH.
Rihanna is ready to rock.

We thought we were well-versed on the topic of the Robyn Rihanna Fenty-produced show, Styled To Rock, but, boy, how things have changed. The show, which was originally set to air on the Style Network on November 5th, has been switched to debut on Bravo on October 25th. YAAAS! Rihanna-approved #FASHUN sooner? We likey.
The show had already promised famous mentors, including longtime RiRi stylist, Mel Ottenberg, model Erin Wasson, and some guy named Pharrell (yeah, IDK either, JK I DO), but this new preview gives us a taste of the celeb guest judges we can expect to see and, dang, there are a lot.
