Joe Francis, Jaden Smith and Kourtney Kardashian at Kimye's Wedding Reception
Photo: Joe Francis Instagram
By now, the Kimye wedding guests have dispersed to their own homes, continuing vacation villas, or somewhere in the South of France. Kim and Kanye are officially husband and wife, the wedding was allegedly magnifique, the speeches moving, and the emotion overwhelming. The bride, groom, and baby Nori wore custom Givenchy. And Jaden Smith? He wore a white Batman outfit. Maybe he only wore it at the reception, but we like to think of him sitting politely in his seat during the wedding ceremony... as Batman. This calls for a new installment of Fashion Fanfic!
Jaden Smith smiles warmly as several guests stand, allowing him to move to his seat. "I'm so sorry," he says as he brushes against Chrissy Teigen. He nods towards John Legend: "So nice to see you." He doesn't really mean it though. Indeed, Jaden was raised to interact with the strictest of manners, but truthfully he couldn't care less if people thought he was polite. He had bigger things to think about.
Let's commemorate this event the right way.

How are y'all handling this weekend? No, I'm not talking about Memorial Day sales and barbecues. I'm talking about THE KIMYE WEDDING! We can't remember any nuptials drawing this much attention since Prince William and Kate Middleton tied the knot back in 2011. Let's face it—Kim and Kanye's big day is about as close to a royal wedding as Americans will ever get and it can't be a ~true~ royal wedding without official commemorative plates. While there are no plates out yet, we had to crack Photoshop open to scratch this itch. So while you can't buy these yet (though, Home Shopping Network, give us a call!), we can still all bask in their JPEG glory together.
The Halkias make your dreams come true.

Have you heard? Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are getting married! They're generally a pretty private pair and go out of their way to keep their lives and whereabouts under wraps, so you probably didn't even realize that was happening, but it IS. The biggest rumor for the Kardashian-West nuptials was that they might take place at the Palace of Versailles, or that the couple at least attempted to book their ceremony and/or reception at France's most opulent royal chateau and were perhaps shut down.
Versailles couldn't grant Kimye's (rumored) wedding wishes, but we know one New York couple who would've done their darnedest to make the future Mr. and Mrs. West happy: Michael and Alice Halkias, owners of Brooklyn's famous Grand Prospect Hall. (From New York but it's not ringing a bell yet? Watch this.) Naturally, we called them up to chat about what makes weddings at Grand Prospect Hall so special and how they'd make Kim and Kanye's dreams come true.
MTV STYLE: Grand Prospect Hall is a kind of New York staple, but some people outside of the city might not have heard about it. How would you describe Grand Prospect Hall to someone unfamiliar with the venue?
MICHAEL HALKIAS: Well, Grand Prospect Hall is a music hall and theater, multi-purpose facility, many different ballrooms with the grand ballroom being the major space, where we do very, very large events. It was built originally in 1892 and then went through a full new construction in steel in 1900. We are still a music hall with balconies and a full stage, and we have been socially the Mecca of any social and corporate event and weddings, bar mitzvahs, bat mitzvahs, and it's also for divorces!
ALICE HALKIAS: That's my husband's joke.
So we've received scant information about the #worldsmosttalkedaboutwedding, which is only just a day away. I know this because it's saved on my Google Calendar. Sure, we've seen their shopping spree in Paris, but what does it mean? The West and Kardashian camps have been keeping everything under wraps, except for the location of their wedding (presumably at Belvedere Fort in Florence, unless that's another fake-out as well). Ayyyy Yeezy, how we gonna talk about if you don't give us some deets? Like Sway, we ain't got the answers! Until now, that is.
We here at MTV Style HQ have discovered pages from what we're assuming is Kanye's Secret Sketchbook. I mean, dude looks like the type of dude to own a moleskin right? Let's take a look!
Art: Kanye's Secret Sketchbook.
Right off the bat, you can see 'Ye debating between a couple of groom's looks. A suit and cape with black Timberlands? Bold move, and not entirely unexpected given his style oeuvre. There's also a close-up detail with Kanye highlighting exotic leathers like eel and ostrich for his lapels and tuxedo, which is a continuation of the his love of leathers from his first leather jacket down to his leather jogging pants. What's interesting is that this might've been sketched when Versailles was still the final destination of the wedding. Here's a sketch of Kanye dressed as a 16th-century French courtier with one can only assume are Freddy loafers and face-blocking shades. And as always, 'Ye is pushing envelopes and envelopes–who knows if the black hoods from his "Black Skinhead" performances will make an appearance or not.

Looks like our invite to Kanye West and Kim Kardashian's wedding must've, um, gotten lost in the mail. Bummer. Since we're not heading to Europe to celebrate the #WORLDSMOSTTALKEDABOUTCOUPLE nuptials after all, we'll have to cope the best way we know how: retail therapy, duh. So, we rounded up a bunch of merch that reminds us of our favorite duo—everything from Kim's crying face to a Kanye-inspired Givenchy skirt (and knockoff hat for those less fortunate) to a Kimye portrait-of-the-future meme iPhone case. More this way, Kimye stans.
As you know, the #WORLDSMOSTTALKEDABOUTWEDDING is approaching. But for all that’s being said about it, we know surprisingly little about Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s upcoming marriage extravaganza. While rumors have been swirling, we can glean that wedding guests are meeting in Paris and then mayyyybe flying from there to Florence where the pair could marry at Fort Belvedere. On Friday, there will be a brunch hosted by Valentino and covered by Vogue then followed by a rehearsal dinner. The next day, Kimye will be officially wed. Everything else we can only guess, from the soundtrack—aside from rumored guest of honor Lana Del Rey—to the vows which *fingers crossed* will be answered with “uh-huh honey.” We’re more preoccupied with the clothing though because when Kanye’s involved, that’s the main attraction. So, we did some sleuthing based on the couple’s whereabouts in Paris this past week and deduced all of the possibilities. Let’s get into it.
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West at Saint Laurent in Paris.

When: May 19, 2014
Where: 53 Avenue Montaigne
What it might mean for the wedding: Perhaps Kanye is trying to be “the bigger person” by extending a wedding invite to the fashion house’s head Hedi Slimane. Bonus points for Kanye if that invite comes without stipulation that Slimane can’t attend any other wedding this season. (After Slimane once told Kanye he could attend Saint Laurent’s show only if he didn’t attend any others that season, Kanye was inspired to write “I Am a God.”)

What it might mean for the wedding: Donatella Versace will probably be in attendance. The instinct here is to think that she’d be designing for the couple, their guests of honor, or even the place settings—Versace home is decadent like no other—but considering Kanye’s strict adherence to minimalism as of late, I’m going to rule that out since Versace’s aesthetic is all flash. More likely, they’ll be extending an invitation to Donatella to be their guest for this intimate weekend in reciprocation for her letting the Kardashian clan stay at her Miami home for a week this past March.
A Cavalli design for Katy Perry's Prismatic Tour.
Photo: @katyperry Instagram
After revealing yesterday that Valentino had designed one of her Prismatic Tour outfits, Katy Perry gave us a sneak peek at another design to expect, this time from Roberto Cavalli. While the Valentino dress is long and flowy, this one is short and sequined.
The Cavalli dress seems to play into light and its refraction more than the Valentino dress—Katy has worn a number of ~prismatic~ outfits during this era, and I'm pretty sure this won't be the only shiny piece in her performance wardrobe.
Lauren Conrad for 'Cosmopolitan.'
For the January 2014 issue of Cosmopolitan, Lauren Conrad put on a bunch of super pretty party dresses and dished on the details of her recent engagement to law school student and former Something Corporate rocker, William Tell. Of course, her hair looks perfect in every shot. Like, SO perfect that I'm starting to think the girl MUST be wearing a wig. Not really, but if there are wigs out there that look like LC's hair, then consider me sold.
Anyway, among the many frocks Lauren wears for her shoot are a pink and purple silk dress with a beaded bodice and a canary yellow number that she accessorizes with a pair of red and neon green open-toed heels. Yes, the color scheme might seem a bit unconventional, but Conrad's confidence (and again, really great hair) makes the whole thing look seamless.
Whitney Port and her producer beau, Tim Rosenman.

OMG. Looks like yet another former Hills star can take "engagement ring" off their Christmas list this year. Reality star-turned-designer Whitney Port (who's been through her fair share of some very public dating disasters) just got engaged to her producer beau of two years, Tim Rosenman, who she met on the set of her Hills spin-off, The City. We're really happy for them and we're gonna let them finish celebrating, but we are DYING to get a glimpse of the ring, which has yet to be revealed. Will it be round and classic like Lauren Conrad's? A whopping square-cut stunner like Kristen Cavallari's? Something eclectic and vintage that reflects her laid-back, downtown boho style? EEE! Just show us already, kthx! (Also, CONGRATS!)
