OK, so here's the thing. Harem pants can actually be cool. We know, we know; they will always and forever be associated with Mister M.C. Hammer himself, but they're seeing a maaaajor trend resurgence of late that could change everything. And after seeing these three stylish bloggers take a stab at it, we're willing to give these roomy trousers a try. Nubia Mejia of Nubia's Nonsense, Annie Li of Skirts And Skins, and Stella Eneanya of J'adore Fashion all demonstrate how uniquely adaptable this look can be. 'Can't touch this' (har, har,) just yet? Read on and we're pretty sure you'll switch your 'tude.

Nubia Mejia of Nubia's Nonsense
Blog: NubiasNonsense.com. Twitter: @nubiasnonsense.
Girl's got a lot going on in this outfit. With her patterned top, sheer/fur bolero and red braided vintage rope belt, Nubia's choice to go the way of the harem is a bold one. But by making her lower half monochromatic and slyly tucked into boots, she's able to balance out the busy feel of her top without sacrificing any personality. The high waist of the Forever 21 pant cinches her teeny-tiny waist into a beautifully feminine silhouette.

Annie Li of Skirts And Skin
Blog: SkirtsAndSkin.Blogspot.com.
Annie earns major kudos for taking on the high risk factor of velveteen as her fabric of choice. And luckily, it pays off. The slim, tapered leg prevents the trousers (by Necessary) from overtaking her frame, especially when compounded by a baggy tee. We also love the sheer, polka dot cutout print of her Forever 21 top. It adds a fun detail to an otherwise minimal look. Harem brings a lot of punch on its own, so there's no need to pile on too many extra details.

Stella Eneanya of J'adore Fashion
Blog: Jadore-Fashion.com. Twitter: @JadoreFashions.
Here's another look we covet. Stella's plaid pants (also Forever 21!) are the standout piece here, so we applaud her for keeping the rest of her look simple to complement that. Her turquoise jewelry is juuust the right amount of color and contrast without overshadowing the pants, which do all the talking here (and have a lot to say). Plus, this outfit proves that the general fear of harem pants swallowing your legs up whole is completely unfounded. Look how long and elegant Stella's gams are. Case closed.

With winter winding down, it's time to get the most out of those seasonal pieces, like printed knit leggings, that will soon be shelved (or boxed or vacuum sealed). How adorable are style bloggers Ashley Kuitunen of Breakfast at Saks, Rachella Kordijk of The Only Fashion Princess, and Stacey Belko of Devorelebeaumonstre? These ladies warmed their legs in festive yuletide prints that have us wanting to knock back some eggnog and cozy up next to a fire. What?! It's not Spring...YET!

Ashley Kuitunen of Breakfast at Saks
Blog: BreakfastAtSaks.blogspot.com. Twitter: @BreakfastatSaks.
Everything about Ashley's outfit looks SO comfortable. From her long thrifted grandpa cardigan, printed T-shirt, and Urban Outfitters beanie, down to her Nasty Gal knit leggings, it's a cozy combination of soft fabrics we'd love to curl up in. Her look also incorporates one of winter's other big trends, the navajo print.

Rachella Kordijk of The Only Fashion Princess
Blog: TheOnlyFashionPrincess.Blogspot.com. Twitter: @rachella93.
Printed leggings run the risk of overtaking a whole outfit in an unflattering way, but in Amsterdam-based blogger Rachella's case, the stitched snowflake pattern actually has the opposite effect. The slim fit elongates her legs, and when layered with a black top and cropped, off-the-shoulder sweater, the leggings provide a long, lean look that counters the bagginess of her pullover. Her leggings are the clear statement-making piece of her ensemble, but we love how she adds a bit of personality to her top half with the addition of a pendant necklace.

Stacey Belko of Devorelebeaumonstre
Blog: Devorelebeaumonstre.com. Twitter: @StaceyBelko.
Stacey proves that trying out trends doesn't have to be pricey; her fair isle printed pants only cost $15 from eBay! These thick knit leggings not only keep her gams covered in the cold climate of her Pittsburgh hometown, but look great for any occasion. As Stacey demonstrates, it's important to keep your top half subdued when wearing powerful prints on bottom. Her Forever 21 Henley and light linen sweater from Macy's are the perfect complement, while her orange clutch (also Forever 21) gives a bright pop of color.

Linda Shin, Amy Zheng, and Amanda.

There's no doubt about it—a black leather jacket is a classic wardrobe staple. It's a super-versatile piece that works with everything from jeans to frilly frocks. But this week we're loving leather that deviates from traditional noir. Check out stylish bloggers Linda Shin of PotPie Du Monde, Amy Zheng of Candid Classic, and Amanda of A.Co Est. 1984, who gave the trusty 'ol biker-inspired topper a modern upgrade by wearing it in colorful, eye-catching shades.

Linda Shin of PotPie Du Monde
Blog: PotPieDuMonde.tumblr.com. Twitter: @potpiedumonde.
We're loving the rich, earthy tones of Linda's ensemble, anchored by her deep chocolate brown Forever 21 jacket. Her bright yellow dress (also from Forever 21) and neon green skinny headband keep things light and cheerful, while her mahogany circle scarf and suede knee-high Nine West boots make the look seasonally appropriate, and adorable.

Amy Zheng Of Candid Classic
Blog: CandidClassic.Blogspot.com.
For a more versatile option, try a camel-colored jacket like Amy. This neutral hue suits a wide color palette making it the most wearable choice. It also goes with just about any kind of look, though we love how Amy styled her's with a feminine, floral dress. And it's practical; it works as a great layering piece and won't break the bank—Amy's is only $24.48 from Target!

Amanda of A.Co Est. 1984
Blog: ACoEst1984.Blogspot.com. Twitter: @ACoest1984.
Don't be fooled by your monitor; Amanda's jacket may appear black but it's not, it's actually dark navy! The rich shade is predisposed to look best with gem tones, but we love how she paired it with other blues to accentuate the colors of her outfit. The Lapis jacket's fitted cut ties the flowing feel of her printed dress, boots and tights, together into one tailored, chic ensemble.

Delmy Rivera, Mónica Cerino, and Nancie Mwai.
Photo: Courtesy of the Bloggers; Fashion Bananas, Freesia Blog, The Fashionable Notebook

With high-waisted pants coming as cute as the pairs seen on these bloggers, we're ready to throw our fears out surrounding up-to-there hip-hugging, waist-cinching trousers. The once unflattering cuts, reserved for geeky Urkel-types and mom jeans (*shudder*) are now more tailored and detailed. And, with the right fit, they can even act as the perfect tummy tamer and hip hider. Check out how Delmy Rivera of Fashion Bananas, Mónica Cerino of Freesia Blog, and Nancie Mwai of The Fashionable Notebook all rise to the occasion with these ladylike slacks.

Delmy Rivers of Fashion Bananas
Blog: FashionBananas.com. Twitter: @Delmy_Rivera.
We adore the bright hue and nautical feel of New York based-blogger Delmy's outfit. Her American Apparel pants' cobalt shade really pops, and the cuffed hem showcases her Pura Lopez espadrille wrap sandals. Combined with her striped tank, it's an ensemble that begs to be basking in the sun of a sailboat...or hanging out in the backyard on a sunny day.

Mónica Cerino of Freesia Blog
Blog: FreesiaBlog.Blogspot.com.
For a more conservative approach, we love Mónica from Mexico's take on the trend. Her high-rise pants (borrowed from her mom's closet!) elongate her legs and look sleek next to her feminine, pleated pink blouse. But traditional doesn't have to be boring; take a look at how Mónica makes her outfit unique, by wearing a DIY bow tie.

Nancie Mwai of The Fashionable Notebook
Blog: FashionableNotebook.Blogspot.com. Twitter: @nanciemwai.
If Nancie is any indication, geeky can most definitely be chic. This blogger from Kenya proves that wearing a bow tie and suspenders can be a well-worth-it fashion risk. By wearing her loose navy slacks with a sleek, slim ruffled blouse, her updated interpretation comes off tailored instead of stereotypically nerdy.

It may not feel like it, but spring is just around the corner, and the seasonal trends that come with it are already blooming in the blogosphere. For example, we've spotted a ton of feminine pastel florals. They're sugary-sweet, yet don't look like something grandma would wear. Wendy Cheng of Black Coffee Crumbs, Ivonne Hernandez of Ivonne Stacy Style, and Nicole Levine of Frankie Hearts Fashion all put a little extra spring in their step with these pretty prints.

Wendy Cheng of Black Coffee Crumbs
Blog: BlackCoffeeCrumbs.Blogspot.com.
Blogger Wendy's adorable vintage pastel floral romper is light and airy, and the deeper hue of the cardigan keeps the pale palette from washing out Wendy's skin. Meanwhile her socks and heels combo, a former faux pas, is back (it first popped up last fall) as one of spring's biggest trends.

Ivonne Hernandez of Ivonne Stacy Style
Blog: IvonneStacy.Blogspot.com. Twitter: @Ivonnestacy.
If you can't wait until the official start of spring to try out florals, go for a more winterized version like blogger Ivonne did with her Urban Outfitters dress. The pink floral print overlays a neutral, gray background, which keeps it from feeling too springy. Plus, her thigh-high black suede boots are much more appropriate for colder climates. Layer with a sweater or blazer and you've got the perfect transitional ensemble.

Nicole Levine of Frankie Hearts Fashion
Blog: FrankieHeartsFashion.com. Twitter: @frankiefashion.
Nicole's Alice McCall frock features a sweetheart neckline, floral print, and bubble silhouette that feels fun and flirty, while the thick brocade material and belted bustier top keep it chic and glam. We also love how she contrasted something so girly with a dark capelet from Forever 21, a gold Marc Jacobs chain link necklace, and Lanvin pumps.

Leather pants aren't just for rock stars. After surfing the style blogs for inspiration, we came across three lovely ladies who really rock their leggings sans an entourage or tour dates—Rachel Hall of Studio Swag, Suzy Pilaczynski of Beneath the Glass, and Jennie Lodge of Going West. Here's how these bloggers personalize their confident leather looks.

Rachel Hall of Studio Swag
Blog: StudioSwag.Blogspot.com. Twitter: @rachelkhall.
We love the contrasting look of Rachel from Louisiana's super sleek outfit. Her jet black leggings from Topshop are more like a second skin, oozing sex appeal, especially when paired with thigh-high stilettos. But Rachel's look doesn't have to be confined to a nightclub; she makes it daytime appropriate by topping it with a black Urban Outfitters tee and a slouchy sweater, also from Topshop. We also like how she kept her hair and makeup simple, accessorizing only with a turquoise pendant for a pop of color.

Suzy Pilaczynski of Beneath the Glass
Blog: BeneathTheGlass.Blogspot.com. Twitter: @beneaththeglass.
First of all, Suzy just had a baby, y'all. How hot is she?? Which makes her choice to wear leather leggings that much more amazing. Suzy, who calls Cali home, wears a flowing asymmetrical printed cardi layered with a loose top that looks soft and lovely next to dramatic skintight leggings. Her wrap platform sandals complete the rocker-chick feel. Posing on the bed of a pickup truck is just the icing on this very fierce cake.

Jennie Lodge of Going West
Blog: GoingWest.net. Twitter: @JennieGoingWest.
It's OK that the sun is shielding most of California girl Jennie's face—we're too busy checking out her supercute ensemble to get too upset. We love how she meshes preppy professional (a MinkPink button-down layered under a Zara sweater and Juicy Couture blazer) with badass rocker-esque (Aritzia leather leggings and Sam Edelman booties). It's a surprising and complementary combo that totally works and appeals to two very different genres of style.

We might be in the dead of winter, but that doesn't mean flirty, feminine pieces have to be shelved until spring. Quite the contrary. Try perking up cold weather-wear with healthy doses of girlish gear like some of our favorite style bloggers—Melissa Knight of Miss Melissa, Diya Liu of In Her Stilettos, and Christina Dawes of Many Shades Of Purple—recently did. Sweet!

Melissa Knight of Miss Melissa
Blog: Miss-Melissa.com. Twitter: @missmelissa_k.
Vancouver-based blogger Melissa's girly glow isn't just from the winter white wonderland in her backyard. The black ribbon bow on her ballerina-like skirt (which is sold out on ModCloth.com) pulls the tulle mesh pleats into one fabulously feminine item. We love how Melissa's minimalist bold blue shirt, tights, and tall boots let her skirt do all the talking, or perhaps in this case, twirling.

Diya Liu of In Her Stilettos
Blog: DiyaInHerStilettos.com. Twitter: @diyaliu.
Diya, who hails from Austin, Texas, looks lovely in her thrifted blazer. Partly because of its sweet peach-cream color, but mostly because of the bows, which are not only adorable, but practical too—they double as buttons! Left open or closed, this topper steals the spotlight, even next to Diya's dueling prints.

Christina Dawes of Many Shades of Purple
Blog: VioletHeartsManyShadesOfPurple.Blogspot.com. Twitter: @vheart2010.
Christina took two contrasting items—a plaid shirt and a tiered lace skirt—and molded them seamlessly with the addition of her bow-adorned Threadsense belt. The camel color complements both pieces, making for one polished and pretty end result. Her lace-up boots, also by Threadsense, may be the same shade as her belt, but it doesn't feel too matchy-matchy.

Megan Barrow, Kim Siroyt, and Amber Godin.

Forget all the rules you've heard about wearing black-and-white zebra-style stripes—it doesn't matter if they're horizontal, vertical, thick, or skinny, there's a variation to fit any body type. Just check out how style bloggers Megan Barrow of A Closet Fashionista, Kim Siroyt of Brunette Blogging, and Amber Godin of Amber Blue Bird all rock the classic jailhouse look.

Megan Barrow of A Closet Fashionista
Blog: AClosetFashionista.Blogspot.com. Twitter: @Closet_Fashion.
Medium-thick stripes, like the ones on Megan's casual tunic sweater, are the most universally flattering. Plus the tops' longer length draws the eye down, creating a longer-, leaner-looking torso. Pairing the shirt with skinny jeans and boots Megan keeps the ensemble clean and simple, but the little details aren't lost on us. We love that she painted her nails bright red, which is the perfect pop of color to complement a black and white palette.

Kim Siroyt of Brunette Blogging
Blog: BrunetteBlogging.com. Twitter: @brunettebloggin.
We LOVE how wearable Kim's striped H&M party dress is. Throw on a blazer or cardigan during the day and then lose it at night for a sexier vibe. The tights and flat boots finish the look, while the nontraditional vertical stripes lengthen her frame. We also appreciate the risk Kim took by trying the trend in dress form, and how she smartly chose thin, vertical stripes (instead of wide, horizontal lines) to avoid being swallowed up in the shift.

Amber Godin of Amber Blue Bird
Blog: AmberBlueBird.Blogspot.com.
Layering, like Amber, is a great option for the stripe-o-phobe. On its own, her shirt might have overtaken her small size, but we like how Amber tamed her Target turtleneck by teaming it with a dark blazer, belted winter white skirt, and black patterned tights. The result is a polished, pulled-together look that's perfect for work to weekend.

Jennifer Engren, Laura Gommans, and Erica Matos.

Fair isle, the knit pattern that instantly transports us to an Aspen ski lodge where we're sipping hot cocoa, is one of winter's most iconic prints. And now, it's become one of this season's hottest trends. The cozy topper has been spotted on celebs such as Victoria Beckham, Hilary Duff, and Rihanna, proving that this traditional look is appropriate both on and off the slopes. But with such a seasonal item, we decided to hit up the style blogs for ideas on how to get the most wear out of this look. Jennifer Engren of Fashionista To Garmento, Laura Gommans of The World Looks Red, and Erica Matos of Pretty All The Time demonstrate how to put a modern spin on the classic piece.

Jennifer Engren of Fashionista To Garmento
Blog: Fashionista-to-Garmento.Blogspot.com.
Jennifer is a fashion merchandising student living in New York City whose chunky gray sweater is one of the most affordable Nordic-themed knits we've seen. At just $10 from H&M, she could have nabbed two...or three. We also love how Jennifer wore it with knee-high rubber boots, another wintertime staple.

Laura Gommans of The World Looks Red
Blog: The WorldLooksRed.com. Twitter: @lauragommans.
Amsterdam-based blogger Laura's beige, reindeer-print cardigan from Zara has a whimsical (but non-cheesy) feel. That's probably because the neutral shade of her topper keeps the allover print subdued instead of overtly loud (don't confuse fair isle with ugly Christmas sweaters!). Paired with winterized shorts and chic accessories, Laura shows us how this casual look can get the dressed-up treatment.

Erica Matos of Pretty All The Time
Blog: PrettyAllTheTime.Blogspot.com.
The cinched waist on blogger Erica's wrap sweater from Old Navy is a flattering fit and works well layered over her gray Charlotte Russe leggings for a casual, comfortable outfit. The combination of colors in the sweater also make it more versatile and a less traditional option than other fair isle prints (which might feel a bit too yuletide-heavy for some).

We love cold-weather accessories for their added warmth and extra outfit oomph, but hate the bulk of too much bundling. Which is why we're loving winter's latest look—head wraps. Since they cover your ears but show off your hair, and shield your head but highlight your face, this is a trend that showcases your style instead of hiding it. We hit up some of our favorite style blogs for tips on choosing and wearing the perfect head wrap. Lisa Ostermann of Lisa Rosalie, Seaghna Wilson of Lights Drive My Soul, and Nathalie H. of Accessory Pirate all kicked off this new year with a new wintery look. Read More...
