Leather pants aren't just for rock stars. After surfing the style blogs for inspiration, we came across three lovely ladies who really rock their leggings sans an entourage or tour dates—Rachel Hall of Studio Swag, Suzy Pilaczynski of Beneath the Glass, and Jennie Lodge of Going West. Here's how these bloggers personalize their confident leather looks.

Rachel Hall of Studio Swag
Blog: StudioSwag.Blogspot.com. Twitter: @rachelkhall.
We love the contrasting look of Rachel from Louisiana's super sleek outfit. Her jet black leggings from Topshop are more like a second skin, oozing sex appeal, especially when paired with thigh-high stilettos. But Rachel's look doesn't have to be confined to a nightclub; she makes it daytime appropriate by topping it with a black Urban Outfitters tee and a slouchy sweater, also from Topshop. We also like how she kept her hair and makeup simple, accessorizing only with a turquoise pendant for a pop of color.

Suzy Pilaczynski of Beneath the Glass
Blog: BeneathTheGlass.Blogspot.com. Twitter: @beneaththeglass.
First of all, Suzy just had a baby, y'all. How hot is she?? Which makes her choice to wear leather leggings that much more amazing. Suzy, who calls Cali home, wears a flowing asymmetrical printed cardi layered with a loose top that looks soft and lovely next to dramatic skintight leggings. Her wrap platform sandals complete the rocker-chick feel. Posing on the bed of a pickup truck is just the icing on this very fierce cake.

Jennie Lodge of Going West
Blog: GoingWest.net. Twitter: @JennieGoingWest.
It's OK that the sun is shielding most of California girl Jennie's face—we're too busy checking out her supercute ensemble to get too upset. We love how she meshes preppy professional (a MinkPink button-down layered under a Zara sweater and Juicy Couture blazer) with badass rocker-esque (Aritzia leather leggings and Sam Edelman booties). It's a surprising and complementary combo that totally works and appeals to two very different genres of style.

We might be in the dead of winter, but that doesn't mean flirty, feminine pieces have to be shelved until spring. Quite the contrary. Try perking up cold weather-wear with healthy doses of girlish gear like some of our favorite style bloggers—Melissa Knight of Miss Melissa, Diya Liu of In Her Stilettos, and Christina Dawes of Many Shades Of Purple—recently did. Sweet!

Melissa Knight of Miss Melissa
Blog: Miss-Melissa.com. Twitter: @missmelissa_k.
Vancouver-based blogger Melissa's girly glow isn't just from the winter white wonderland in her backyard. The black ribbon bow on her ballerina-like skirt (which is sold out on ModCloth.com) pulls the tulle mesh pleats into one fabulously feminine item. We love how Melissa's minimalist bold blue shirt, tights, and tall boots let her skirt do all the talking, or perhaps in this case, twirling.

Diya Liu of In Her Stilettos
Blog: DiyaInHerStilettos.com. Twitter: @diyaliu.
Diya, who hails from Austin, Texas, looks lovely in her thrifted blazer. Partly because of its sweet peach-cream color, but mostly because of the bows, which are not only adorable, but practical too—they double as buttons! Left open or closed, this topper steals the spotlight, even next to Diya's dueling prints.

Christina Dawes of Many Shades of Purple
Blog: VioletHeartsManyShadesOfPurple.Blogspot.com. Twitter: @vheart2010.
Christina took two contrasting items—a plaid shirt and a tiered lace skirt—and molded them seamlessly with the addition of her bow-adorned Threadsense belt. The camel color complements both pieces, making for one polished and pretty end result. Her lace-up boots, also by Threadsense, may be the same shade as her belt, but it doesn't feel too matchy-matchy.

Megan Barrow, Kim Siroyt, and Amber Godin.

Forget all the rules you've heard about wearing black-and-white zebra-style stripes—it doesn't matter if they're horizontal, vertical, thick, or skinny, there's a variation to fit any body type. Just check out how style bloggers Megan Barrow of A Closet Fashionista, Kim Siroyt of Brunette Blogging, and Amber Godin of Amber Blue Bird all rock the classic jailhouse look.

Megan Barrow of A Closet Fashionista
Blog: AClosetFashionista.Blogspot.com. Twitter: @Closet_Fashion.
Medium-thick stripes, like the ones on Megan's casual tunic sweater, are the most universally flattering. Plus the tops' longer length draws the eye down, creating a longer-, leaner-looking torso. Pairing the shirt with skinny jeans and boots Megan keeps the ensemble clean and simple, but the little details aren't lost on us. We love that she painted her nails bright red, which is the perfect pop of color to complement a black and white palette.

Kim Siroyt of Brunette Blogging
Blog: BrunetteBlogging.com. Twitter: @brunettebloggin.
We LOVE how wearable Kim's striped H&M party dress is. Throw on a blazer or cardigan during the day and then lose it at night for a sexier vibe. The tights and flat boots finish the look, while the nontraditional vertical stripes lengthen her frame. We also appreciate the risk Kim took by trying the trend in dress form, and how she smartly chose thin, vertical stripes (instead of wide, horizontal lines) to avoid being swallowed up in the shift.

Amber Godin of Amber Blue Bird
Blog: AmberBlueBird.Blogspot.com.
Layering, like Amber, is a great option for the stripe-o-phobe. On its own, her shirt might have overtaken her small size, but we like how Amber tamed her Target turtleneck by teaming it with a dark blazer, belted winter white skirt, and black patterned tights. The result is a polished, pulled-together look that's perfect for work to weekend.

Jennifer Engren, Laura Gommans, and Erica Matos.

Fair isle, the knit pattern that instantly transports us to an Aspen ski lodge where we're sipping hot cocoa, is one of winter's most iconic prints. And now, it's become one of this season's hottest trends. The cozy topper has been spotted on celebs such as Victoria Beckham, Hilary Duff, and Rihanna, proving that this traditional look is appropriate both on and off the slopes. But with such a seasonal item, we decided to hit up the style blogs for ideas on how to get the most wear out of this look. Jennifer Engren of Fashionista To Garmento, Laura Gommans of The World Looks Red, and Erica Matos of Pretty All The Time demonstrate how to put a modern spin on the classic piece.

Jennifer Engren of Fashionista To Garmento
Blog: Fashionista-to-Garmento.Blogspot.com.
Jennifer is a fashion merchandising student living in New York City whose chunky gray sweater is one of the most affordable Nordic-themed knits we've seen. At just $10 from H&M, she could have nabbed two...or three. We also love how Jennifer wore it with knee-high rubber boots, another wintertime staple.

Laura Gommans of The World Looks Red
Blog: The WorldLooksRed.com. Twitter: @lauragommans.
Amsterdam-based blogger Laura's beige, reindeer-print cardigan from Zara has a whimsical (but non-cheesy) feel. That's probably because the neutral shade of her topper keeps the allover print subdued instead of overtly loud (don't confuse fair isle with ugly Christmas sweaters!). Paired with winterized shorts and chic accessories, Laura shows us how this casual look can get the dressed-up treatment.

Erica Matos of Pretty All The Time
Blog: PrettyAllTheTime.Blogspot.com.
The cinched waist on blogger Erica's wrap sweater from Old Navy is a flattering fit and works well layered over her gray Charlotte Russe leggings for a casual, comfortable outfit. The combination of colors in the sweater also make it more versatile and a less traditional option than other fair isle prints (which might feel a bit too yuletide-heavy for some).

We love cold-weather accessories for their added warmth and extra outfit oomph, but hate the bulk of too much bundling. Which is why we're loving winter's latest look—head wraps. Since they cover your ears but show off your hair, and shield your head but highlight your face, this is a trend that showcases your style instead of hiding it. We hit up some of our favorite style blogs for tips on choosing and wearing the perfect head wrap. Lisa Ostermann of Lisa Rosalie, Seaghna Wilson of Lights Drive My Soul, and Nathalie H. of Accessory Pirate all kicked off this new year with a new wintery look. Read More...

Unless you're lucky enough to live in a warmer climate (and for that we are incredibly jealous), bundling up is a must. But there's no need to bulk up in uncomfortable layers when cute coats are readily available. The peacoat, a tried-and-true winter staple, is currently experiencing a modern upgrade with unique fabrics, cuts, and colors to fit anyone's personal style. Just check out how cool style bloggers Rachel Combs of Mouse Vox Vintage, Arushi Khosla of Fab Blab, and Justyna Baraniecki of Chichichic all look in their not-your-run-of-the-mill peacoats. Celebs weren't the only ones who dressed to impress in 2010. Throughout the year, we hit the streets to get you to Show Us Your Style and, BOY, were we floored (in a very good way) by what we found. There was Tabia in NYC who we spotted rocking Tron-style sunglasses that, to this day, rival the cool quotient of 30 Seconds to Mars' frontman Jared Leto's animal print shield shades. And we loved seeing all of the marvelous odes to Lady Gaga style outside her New York City concert; our fave Little Monster was Chris who got creative with caution tape (à la Gaga's "Telephone" video). Read on for quotes and clips from other top street stylers.

TRENDY SUNGLASSES

We found Tabia, a 23-year-old who works in public relations, across the street from a Duane Reade in New York City. We were drawn to her entire ensemble—her torn jean vest/shirt, her metallic shell necklace, her braided 'do—but we were FIXATED on her outer space-inspired shades. "When I buy sunglasses, I look for something that other people don't have," said Tabia. Mission accomplished.

LADY GAGA'S LITTLE MONSTERS

New Yorker Chris was one of our favorite Little Monsters waiting outside a NYC Lady Gaga concert over the summer. Inspired by Gaga's "Telephone" video, Chris wore what he called "construction gear," which included caution tape, green shorts and flip-flops.

SNEAKER CON

What makes a sneaker hot? "It's gotta be clean, more than anything. No ripped-up bottoms, can't be squeezed up," said Seth from the Bronx. We spotted this sneakerhead at Sneaker Con in October wearing orange/black/purple Adidas with a pair of Kill City jeans, a shirt from Goliath, a tan cargo jacket, oversize glasses, and a gray bucket hat.

FAST FASHION

For Isabella, a 21-year-old from Cambridge, England, clothes are more than just cover-ups. "When I go shopping I look for stuff which is quite hard-core and rock 'n' roll because I'm in an '80s metal band back home. So I really really want to express my music through my style." When we saw the Cambridge, England native she was wearing a graphic tank top, denim short shorts, combat boots, and a shaved head, like singer Cassie.

SUMMER SHOES

We found Mikey, a fashion publicity student, over the summer wearing a funky pair of black Creative Recreation shoes, which he tucked his skinny jeans into. "I'm willing to spend like $200...I also have a red pair," Mikey added. We're not surprised! The kicks looked like a good investment—perfect for any season.

Tis the season...to break out sparkly sequins! And since this trend has a limited shelf life, we turned to the style blogs for inspiration on how to make the most out of the festive (usually reserved for sundown) look by wearing it in the daytime, too. Jacqueline Le Brun of Around The Hourglass, Eboni Ife of Fashionista Next Door and Anna "Robbie" Robinson of The Other Side Of The Pond My Dear show us how you can dazzle without looking like a disco ball. During winter's chilly months, it's outerwear that speaks volumes about one's style. Which is why we're coveting one of this seasons must-have staples—capes! Not the superhero-style (though those are cool, too); these cozy coats offer a fun departure from ho-hum peacoats and trenches. We decided to hit up some of our favorite style blogs for tips on looking great in a cape (as you can imagine, it's easy to get the proportions wrong). Shareen Sarwar of Vintage Mavens, Emily Yakashiro of Glittering Bones and Lauren Ashley of Everyday To Runway all rock very different capes, but they look oh-so-adorable doing it! Read More...
