Vanessa Hudgens, totally unretouched.
Vanessa Hudgens is back with her second Bongo campaign. The fact that the company tapped the actress as their face for another season isn't surprising—the fact that these images are totally unretouched, however, is. "It’s so important for girls to remember that real beauty shines from within," Vanessa said in the press release. "I’m so proud that Bongo is choosing to send such a positive message with this campaign." It's refreshing to see a model, let alone an actress like Hudgens with such a wide reach, opt out of Photoshopping—especially since heavily edited images have become the norm, setting crazy unrealistic standards for beauty.
Vanessa doesn't need any help from Photoshop, of course. She looks flawless as ever in the photos and even stays true to her OG boho style in the campaign.
Wow. In case you hadn't heard, Usher is going to perform at the 2014 VMAs. We've been thinking about Usher a lot lately, anyway. First of all, there's the "Good Kisser" remix by Disclosure. There's also the collab between Usher, Pharrell, and Nicki Minaj ("She Came to Give It To You") that already seems to be a floor burner. (Seriously, it's so catchy). But the one thing we really can't get out of our minds? That hat Usher keeps wearing.

He's been taking a page out of the Pharrell playbook by resurfacing vintage headgear. And while Ush may have had his raccoon cap since February, he’s been getting some serious mileage out of it. He’s been spotted in the cap while doing press to promote season six of The Voice, during a late night appearance with Jimmy Fallon, and, most recently, at the BET Awards. Where Usher goes, the hat goes. But does that mean it'll make the trip to Inglewood in August?
Sex Pistols and Nirvana, represent.
By now, you've probably heard the news. But if you're like "Huh? News? What?," allow me to make your day: 5 Seconds of Summer is performing at the 2014 Video Music Awards! It's a REALLY BIG DEAL (!!!) that warrants all caps and many exclamation points because it'll be the boy band's biggest-ever televised performance in the U.S., which means they're going to be an even more major deal than they already are. Which means this performance is very important. Which means what they wear onstage for said performance is, like, make-or-break important.
Fortunately, the four dudes from Australia have their performance style on lock. For the uninitiated, here's a style primer. If you're an expert in 5SOS, or just someone who stares at pictures of them periodically, you know that they're into repping other bands while performing. Big time. They've created something of a roll call of all their musical inspirations and we're here to pay homage to their T-shirt collection. Check out our faves below!
Cool tee, cooler face, coolest hair.
Snoop Dogg gettin' sock happy.

Just when us fashion nerds thought nothing could top Snoop Dogg's "Saint-Tropez" music video featuring Karl Largerfeld (seriously, that happened), today the rapper announced he's partnering with Swedish brand Happy Socks to create the Art of Inspiration collection, which "aims to encourage and explore creativity and artistic expression" ...through socks. Basically, this means you can wear Snoop Dogg art on your feet 24/7, which is all we've ever wanted. (How did they know?)
Going to bed or out to dinner, Rih?

It's no secret that Rihanna is a fashion icon—she even has a CFDA Fashion Award to prove it. While we're generally behind whatever Rihanna is ~doing~, we fully, 100% endorse this pajamas-as-real-clothes thing she has going on. First there was the matching silk set she wore to the Battleship premiere in 2012. Then there was the pink satin robe she wore to the 2014 MTV Movie Awards. Now there's this nightgown. I mean, when I go out in my pajamas there's no question about whether or not I slept in them—I did. Definitely. Rihanna, though, is an entirely different story.
Jared Leto at the Chanel Haute Couture Show and a look from Chanel's Paris-Dallas Métiers d'Art 2013/14 RTW show.

We're already well aware that Jared Leto was trying to make leggings a thing (see: our boy wearing spandex on Instagram with the hashtag "realmenwearleggings"), but today he turned heads when he arrived at Chanel's Paris Haute Couture show in skintight gold tweed trousers paired with an inside-out graphic tee, chambray shirt, beaded necklace, and his signature ombré strands. There was something about his pants-tucked-into-cowboy-boots ensemble that made us want to investigate it a bit further, and as it turns out, he was actually pulling a look straight from Chanel's Paris-Dallas Métiers d'Art 2013/14 women's RTW show.
How does she do it?
Wow. Is it just me or was last night's Teen Wolf, like, extremely frightening? Granted, I don't rush out to see scary movies because I, uh, don't enjoy feeling scared, but since I watch Teen Wolf for
the shirtless locker room scenes my job, I endured the entire thing. Amid all the blood and razor-sharp teeth was something light and something patterned—I'm talking, of course, about Lydia's outfit.
Now Miley can wear pink whenever.

Between all of the theme-park-scaled stage sets, dangerously narrow bodysuits, and intimate interviews with Miley Cyrus (clad in her undergarments and a rainbow tiara), there was a lot to take in from the Bangerz Tour documentary on NBC. So, it's entirely plausible you missed the bit where Miley compares her elementary school experience to Mean Girls—she was in the IRL Plastics, essentially.
Like Mean Girls, Miley's sixth grade crew had designated pink days and repeat outfits were forbidden. You'd get kicked out, she revealed, if you didn't wear pink in your yearbook picture. The rules in Miley's group were hardcore enforced.
This may be the most perfect summer outfit?

Like us, Taylor Swift spent Fourth of July weekend chilling with her friends and baking a bunch of pies (unlike us, her friends are Emma Stone, Lena Dunham, Jaime King, and Jessica Szohr and her pie was perfect). Also unlike us? She was photographed looking remarkably fresh-faced without any awkward sunburns or undereye circles from too much fun and not enough sleep like the rest of America.
After her long-weekend getaway in Rhode Island, Taylor was spotted leaving a New York City gym wearing a flawless retro bustier number from Reformation. How she manages to look like that after ostensibly getting her fitness on is a bit of a mystery, but whatever she's doing in there is working because: abs. In the mood for good news? You can cop the same matching set for yourself—whether you wear it to the gym or to more formal occasions is totally up to you.
