Listen, there's nothing wrong with liking your reading assignments. It's cool to be a bookworm, and the gal behind Freestyle Nails found a way to make it stylish too! She painted a green and yellow worm across her tips and completed the look with a polka dot bow tie (aw!), glasses and a hat. For her thumb, she painted a book because, well, duh! It's a bookworm, guys.
We never thought we'd say this, but OMG, WE ARE SO SAD THE OLYMPICS ARE OVER. *sniff sniff* It feels like just yesterday we were prepping our Opening Ceremony party ensemble, and now the Closing Ceremony is over, and we're left with nothing but bags of chips and a Spice Girl song stuck in our head. The cool part, though, is that this year's Olympics were not only filled with tons of hard-earned U.S. victories, but also some of THE most unforgettable style moments! From the sparkly leotards to killer nail art to amazing waterproof makeup, there were endless amounts of memorable fashion and beauty looks that will forever be ingrained in our memories. Let's check out our top 10 picks, shall we?
1.) RYAN LOCHTE'S AMERICAN FLAG GRILL
First and foremost—Mr. Ryan Lochte. Before a couple weeks ago, we knew next to nothing about this Olympic medal-winning swimmer, but as it turns out he has a SERIOUS penchant for fashion-y kicks, grills, and memorable catchphrases (JEAH!). His decked-out American flag grill almost cost him a gold medal, but we think it was TOTALLY worth it, right? Sooo shinnnyyy.
My Name Is Kay.

There's something about Canadian crooner My Name Is Kay. First of all, Cobrastarship's "#1Nite" featuring Kay's Robyn-esque soaring pipes is my personal fave booty-bounce-inducing summer anthem (sorry, Carly). And I'm not just totally biased because I may or may not have a worrisome boy crush on Cobra's foxy frontman, Gabe Saporta, specifically after an afternoon tour of his bachelor pad for a past Favorite Things… (!!!!) Kay, back to Kay: Homegirl's style game makes us happy cry/sartorial shiver. She sort of gives us '90s LA raver, but not as hot messy as, say, a tequila-drenched Ke$ha. Proof: Kay's perfectly-polished nails. Pastel color-blocking, you guys. *DEAD* Thus, I suggest taking a meditation moment before diving into a euphoric Kay-hole via this week’s fierce n' fashion-y favorite thangs. You’re welcome.
Lady Gaga and Fozzi the dog match in Louis Vuitton x Yayoi Kusama collars.

The rightful ownership/mothership of Fozzi, the adorable fluffy pup all over Lady Gaga's Twitter feed, may be up for debate amongst her Little Monsters, but we have to give a rousing golf clap for this exemplary matching game. Forget a boy band, Gaga and Fozzi are giving the world's color-coordinated guy groups a run for their money in their matching Louis Vuitton x Yayoi Kusama yellow-and-black polka-dotted collars.
Beyonce in Alexander McQueen (left) and Marc Bouwer on Friday.

The United Nations might be an unlikely place for a concert, but leave it to Beyonce to transform the U.N. into a full-blown music video shoot... AND do it all for a good cause. The star visited the offices on Friday to help raise awareness for upcoming World Humanitarian Day, as well as shooting the video for her single "I Was Here." The video will debut in conjunction with the event on August 19, but luckily for us, we don't have to wait a week in order to ogle Bey's amazing outfits. In typical Beyonce fashion, she worked not one but two chic white dresses. She arrived at the U.N. in an Alexander McQueen bell-sleeved dress (complete with a peplum waist and Ruthie Davis heels, nicely done!) and later changed into a glittery Marc Bouwer ball gown for her performance. With a cutout neck, sleeve detail, and statuesque silhouette, the dress is major without being over the top and attention-grabbing without being flashy. In other words, it's a study in contrasts that totally works.
Miley Cyrus shows off her short hairstyle.

They were the scissor snips heard 'round the world last night, when Miley Cyrus bravely decided to ditch her signature topknot for a platinum pixie cut. Yes, really. After tweeting some crypic messages throughout the day, Miley finally blasted out a photo midway through the Olympics Closing Ceremony of the "after" look. Her new blonde choppy 'do reminds us a bit of Rihanna's cropped hairstyle crossed with Agyness Deyn's edgy pixie, and we're giving major props to Miley for taking the plunge. Although it takes a LOT for most people to part with their hair, Miley took the huge change in stride- even posing for a "before" shot with her hairstylist Chris McMillan (with the caption "Good bye bun. Stay tuned"). Eeeeek!
The Spice Girls reunited for the 2012 London Olympics closing ceremony.

In one of the most anticipated reunions of recent history, the ladies of the Spice Girls came together for their first performance in four years at the 2012 London Olympics closing ceremony. The fabulous fivesome rode into the Union Jack spoked stage on light-encrusted London cabs and performed a medley of "Wannabe" and "Spice Up Your Life." Posh, Ginger, Baby, Sporty, and Scary were glowing and exuberant for this reunion performance, wearing updated high fashion versions of their signature Spice costumes.
Lily Cole, Karen Elson, Kate Moss, and Naomi Campbell at the 2012 London Olympics Closing Ceremonies.
Of the many assets that the Brits have shown off as the hosts of the 2012 London Olympics, style has certainly been one of the strongest. From their Stella McCartney designed uniforms to their killer idea to have an on-site nail artist for athletes, there's been a lot more to gush over in these summer games than just the gymnasts' scrunchies. It's been a stylish Olympics all around, from Michael Jackson swimsuits to the aforementioned nail art, but the closing ceremony is helping us realize fashion dreams we never even knew we had. Gilded in Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, Burberry, Roksanda Illincic, Victoria Beckham, Jonathan Saunders, Erdem, Christopher Kane, and Vivienne Westwood, a coterie of supermodels "stormed," as much of the international press is saying, the enormous, fire-lit runway at the closing ceremony, a fearsome representation of British beauty that is sure to make the Queen proud. Models including original supermodel Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Georgia May Jagger, Jourdan Dunn, Lily Cole, and Stella Tennant were like human gold medals in metallics, feathers, and beads of all kinds. The veritable model army stomped down the runway to David Bowie's "Fashion," an appropriate musical choice if we've ever heard one.
One Direction performs at the 2012 London Olympics closing ceremony.

One of the most impressive takeaways from this 2012 London Olympics closing ceremony has to be the exemplary showcase of British talent. Representing the youngest generation, the boys of One Direction graced the Olympic stage for a high-energy performance of their hit "What Makes You Beautiful" to an audience of 1 billion people in their hallmark tailored coordinates. The color palette for tonight's celebration was a cool complementary set of white, navy, and grey. A careful balance of polished casualwear, the 2012 VMA performers paired chino trousers, crisp button-ups, and skinny lapeled blazers with low-top Converse Chuck Taylors, nautical striped accessories (though, the suspenders took a night off), and untucked shirts.
