Judging Kanye judges your cargo shorts and striped scarf.

It's a rare but always delightful treat when Kanye West takes to Twitter for one of his signature streams of consciousness. We aaaaall remember the several-hour-long Internet soliloquy that ended in the reveal of DONDA, Kanye's design company/think tank, right? Well, Yeezy's latest Twitter spiel is inspired by a weekend drive through the city and the slew of fashion faux pas he was so pained to witness from his whip.
We're swooning over the hunky photos of James Dean on K.Stew's Dolce & Gabbana Tee.
We might be able to buy Kristen Stewart's’s Coachella outfit at the mall (thanks, American Eagle!), but unfortunately, if we want to score that retro James Dean tee the actress wore on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno this weekend, it’s going to cost us. The Snow White and the Huntsman star sported her trademark casual style while she talked red carpet fashion and Twilight with the late night host, wearing the Dolce and Gabbana crewneck under a Rebecca Minkoff blazer, paired with J.Brand leather skinnies. The men’s t-shirt, which is stamped with black and white photos of the iconic ‘50s heartthrob, retails for a cool $234 online. It’s a splurge, that’s for sure, but we’re willing to bet your local vintage store won’t be stocking these high-fashion tees anytime soon. Will you save up for this designer shirt, or would you rather comb the thrift store racks for a less pricey alternative?

Rihanna commanded the stage at SNL in two streetwear-inspired looks.
She may have skipped the “Shy Ronnie” comedy skits this time around, but Rihanna still made a seriously stylish splash on SNL this weekend with two awesome musical performances. In true pop star fashion, the singer pulled out all the stops, jamming in front of a massive crystallized spider web for the opening song “Birthday Cake,” which quickly morphed into her thumping track “Talk That Talk.” Decked-out in an oversized sheer black tee, hot shorts, and over-the-knee boots, the singer’s first look was topped off with a studded baseball cap…in other words, streetwear-heavy pieces we need to add to our closets immediately.
Lauren Conrad in her LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl's summer collection.

I know, I know, it seems like we JUST drooled over the LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl's spring collection, but the busy Hillsie bee already released her summer line as well. Whew, we can barely keep up! We peeped some of the looks and, um, haiiii, we suddenly cannot wait for the 90-degree weather that lies ahead. Lauren Conrad created tons of fun summery pieces, which include everything from 'dorbs pink polka dot pleated dresses to lightweight ombre dip-dyed crochet sweaters to starfish pendant necklaces. In two ensembles from the summer lookbook (above), LC wears a breezy navy and floral chiffon top paired with denim cutoffs and a super cute braided updo. (Teach us your braided headband ways, LC!) In her second outfit, she sports a feminine coral embroidered tank with KILLER floral shorts and a thick gold cuff.
We remember Beastie Boys' Adam Yauch.
Photo: Getty Images
It is the end of the era. That Adam Yauch of the Beastie Boys died today of cancer at the heartbreaking age of 47 is awful news. I’ve read a slew of obituaries and tributes and revisited interviews with the Beasties over the last 25 years and the photos alone are devastating. These guys were such weirdos. Seriously, the swag with which they gave not one shit between them is captivating and wildly empowering. Chromeo tweeted (and I love that A-Trak RT’d it because I know the brothers Macklovitch held the Beastie Boys in high regard and likely discovered them together [or in that order]):
Here’s the thing. I recognize that it’s often inelegant to look to something as inert as clothing or shoes when remembering someone who created decades worth of invaluable art but the significance of their role in how kids use style to signal their fealty to what they loved and what music resonated with them is vital. It’s important to every kid I grew up with while working in New York and has had a hand in how most of us chose our careers. I very much believe it’s what gave me a pass to work at a graffiti magazine as an Korean chick who was born on the other side of the world. Just as it relieved unholy sheepishness or debilitating self-consciousness when I went to work at a rap magazine years later. It's weird but MCA’s death makes you reflect on what the Beasties personally meant to us.
Let's face it. Prom is EXPENSIVE. Between the tickets and the limo and the dinner and the boutonniere, not to mention your outfit, that's a lot of cash to front for one night. We don't know about you guys, but when we were in high school (and walking up-hill both ways in the snow), our saved up United Colors of Benetton sales associate hourly wages would just barely cover those expenses. With that in mind, we've compiled four complete outfits - dress + shoes + bag, the works! - that you can cop for under $100!

Girly girls need not fret. We're absolutely not suggesting you show up to prom in an all-over jersey dress. You can still look glamorous on a budget in this pink strapless party dress from Nordstrom ($36.90) laden with sequins. Pair it with an equally glittery gold hardcase clutch from Forever 21 ($16.80) and add a romantic touch with these floral peeptoes from ASOS ($25.45).

Remember that one time when the chorus of Far East Movement's "Like A G6" was the only thing you'd sing whilst self-exfoliating at home on a lonely Saturday night? Those were the days. *Sigh* Anywho, one inebriated evening circa 2010, I bolted/tripped over to the jukebox at my fave local suspicious-smelling gay dive faster than a frenetic pelvic thrust because I HAD to know the name, and then obvs the steeze, of the enigmatic, purring female serving it to the kids on the euphoric jam. The answer is now, obvs, Dev. First of all, 'Dev' is a bad-to-the-bone, Dev-ilish name, so fierce hand waves to that hotness, girl. But following much chin-scratching and a Google Image search via iPhone minutes later (which basically = a rad pompadour situation, a slew of tattoos and cuckoo kinds of bling) another (totes healthy) obsession was born. Nowadays, I'm driving the MTV Style office all sorts of "STFU!" cray as a result of my latest fave sang-it-loud-and-proud jam, "In My Trunk" from Dev's popgasm of a debut album, The Night The Sun Came Up. Sing it with me you guys: "I got that thump it's in mah trunk, it's in mah trunk…" The lyrics are basically >>>>> and Fergalicious. So, duh, I hit up Dev for this week's installment of Favorite Things. Homegirl e-mailed me a detailed map of her uhmazing tattoos (!!!) and more sartorial hot sauce, so if you hear me shrieking profanities and/or catch the sound of "In The Dark" lyrics echoing across St. Mark's today after work, don't be alarmed... I'm just wearing my <3 (inspired by Dev) on my sleeve. #NoPainNoStyleGain
A$AP Rocky on the set of his "Goldie" music video.
Yesterday morning, A$AP Rocky revealed his (NSFW) "Goldie" music video. In it, the Harlem rapper rides through the streets of Paris with the Eiffel Tower as his backdrop, lights gold laceless Margiela sneakers on fire, and stunts a lot of very, very expensive jewelry. When we caught wind that A$AP was working with Alexander Wang on the video, we immediately hit the rapper up on the "Goldie" set (the portion not filmed in the City of Lights #sadface) to talk about his video style. In our exclusive video interview, A$AP discusses meeting and working with Alexander Wang, developing the wardrobe without a designated stylist, and his thoughts on his own personal steez. Check it out after the jump!
We know you've got your prom game on lock, but are you still fretting over which dress to wear? Can't find something that feels YOU or stands out from the pack of strapless ball-gowny frills? No worries, we're not the only ones who agonize about evening dresses, and on occasion we find that pants actually work better (and are soooo much more comfortable). But can you actually wear pants to prom? Of course! The trick is in how you wear them. Whether you're stepping out in sequin jeans and a sharp jacket all Janelle Monae lady tux style or going for a vampy, structured jumpsuit, there's no way you can't make prom pants pop. Here's how…
We love these AG Adriano Goldschmied Ankle Legging Sequin Pants ($168.75) which are pretty much black jeans in sequin form. We'd rock these with a lace top and short, structured black blazer with an oversized corsage or with dangling punk earrings as seen in our prom accessories guide. Leggings with a bit of embellishment are totally acceptable if you layer them with the right top and accessories. A pair of ASOS Leggings with Metallic Paint Splatters ($36.36) work because they're dark and glam at the same time. We'd top these as they did in the photo with a flowy black top and sequined bustier underneath for a little WOWZA factor. Accessorize with layered gold necklaces, add bold eyes, dark lips, a sophisticated updo, and some killer heels for the ultimate chic New York evening look. Or you can just let the pants do all the work for you with these BCBG MAX AZRIA Zhara Sequined Pants ($199). Holy sparkletasia! Add a white tank and black leather moto jacket with platforms and disco hair. (#DAZZLING) Need more options? We've got 'em.
Beyonce wears Blue Ivy necklace.

Anyone with a finger on the pulse of fashion can tell that nameplate necklaces are snowballing into one of the biggest accessory trends of the season, nay, YEAR! From "Yeezi" to Twitter handles to, you know, your own name, the metallic mini-billboard style is only growing in its ubiquity. Latest to hop on the boat is none other than Miss Beyonce, with a necklace that helps keep daughter Blue Ivy close to her heart, even when she isn't swaddled in louche furry buntings against mama's chest. Bey uploaded this snap of her baby Blue-exhalting Basch & Co. jewelry to her Tumblr. She wears it with a gold sideways cross necklace, button-up blouse, and blazer, and is holding those round sunnies that have been such a favorite for her lately.
