Miley Cyrus for "Marie Claire."

Before we get started, let's give you a minute to pop your eyeballs back into your skull. Truthfully, have you ever seen Miley Cyrus look sooooo #FASHUN as in this Marie Claire September issue cover shoot? This is not to say that the girl doesn't look fashionable every day because that's just wholly untrue. Miley is one of the most fashion-forward PYTs in the game, early-adopting trends with reckless abandon and 100% KILLING THEM. We just mean we just had the wind knocked out of us by the happy amalgamation of this costume jewel encrusted Christian Dior frock, the side-swept tousled bob, and the expert-status broken-down doll Miley is giving that would bring a tear to Miss J. Alexander's eye.
A festival-goer at Lollapalooza on Saturday
Photo: Jesse Lirola
Yesterday at Lollapalooza, it was hot, humid, muddy, AND there was a tornado warning evacuation. In other words, not exactly the best beauty conditions. Despite all of these, uh, obstacles, the Lolla crew still turned out a strong makeup game at the festival both before and after the massive storm. From bright pink to red to even flashes purple, statement lips with a matte finished dominated the crowd- not to mention, definitely stood out from the rest of the dirt-soaked pack. Cat-eyes, colored liner, and glitter (on face, arms, and body) also ruled... and you can bet THAT'S due to the dance party lineup last night, which began shortly after the storm passed. Santigold, Calvin Harris and Avicii crammed into three hours? Yes, please!
This tie-dyed beauty didn't let a little rain get her down--the mud just enhanced her festival look!

Day two of Lollapalooza 2012 started off hot, and not just because of all the jean shorts. The weather in Grant Park was scorching, making the mile long walk from the gates to the far end of the festival something more reminiscent of a long journey through the desert than a leisurely walk through a crowd of 100,000 people. At one point my silver necklace actually got so hot it burned me. But that was nothing compared to what happened later. The forecast had hinted at a chance of a mid-afternoon shower or two, so people were already a little more prepared for weather, with ankle boots being the stand out trend of the earlier part of the day. Nobody was prepared sartorially, however, for when the festival organizers began to calmly walk through the crowds, telling people that the festival grounds were being evacuated due to severe weather on the way. As everyone flooded the streets of Chicago, it seemed like the apocalypse had arrived, and the ever-darkening skies began to make the crowd's bikini tops seem like they might actually come in pretty handy after all.
The sounds from SXSW, Coachella, and Pitchfork might still be ringing in our ears, but hold up! Festival season isn't over quite yet. There’s still Lollapalooza, the three-day music extravaganza happening this weekend in Chicago. With too many bands to keep track of (including headliners like M83, The Black Keys, Jack White, and Florence and the Machine), the event is MASSIVE--from the ridiculously awesome lineup to the mile-long trek from one end of the grounds to the other. Luckily, this means there's ample opportunity to check out festival street style, so we're spending the weekend pounding the pavement (er, grass) to find some of the coolest-dressed people in Grant Park.
On day one, our first stop was backstage, where we peeped performers like Metric's Emily Haines, who told us she she loves vintage sunglasses, Die Antwoord, and Neon Indian. We also snagged sisters Johanna and Klara Söderberg, of the Swedish folk duo First Aid Kit, to talk festival must-haves fresh off their Lolla performance. "We always take the same things on the road with us," Johanna told us. "One pair of comfortable shoes, one pair of really nice shoes that we only wear onstage, earplugs, and dry shampoo! Dry shampoo is so important."

It feels like just yesterday when Whitney Port made her NYFW runway debut! The City star showed off her fall 2012 Whitney Eve collection at the Lincoln Center, and we even caught up with her backstage to chat about her experience. Since then, Whitney has launched a jewelry line and, of course, has been continuing to work on her next spring 2013 Whitney Eve collection. Little did we know, Whitney was planning on making her NYFW show a WEE bit different than her previous ones by adding one extra (huge) element—YOU! She announced on her blog that she's creating the first-ever fan funded show for spring 2013. Now you're probably thinking, "Whaaa? She needs ME to help pay for her collection?" Well, technically, yes, but there are some pretttyyy cool perks that come along with it.
Rihanna's Rebelle perfume is the fastest-selling celebrity fragrance in the UK.

Looks like Rihanna has something extra to smile about today - you know, other than her epic tropical vacation. Ri's Rebelle perfume, the sophomore follow-up to her sweeter Reb'l Fleur fragrance debut, appears to be KILLING IT across the pond! According to Daily Mail, Rebelle is the UK's fastest-selling celebrity perfume, selling over 2 million bottles since its February launch. The British paper also reports that at this rate, Rebelle is on pace to sell "a record-breaking 4 million by the end of the year." WOW.
Katy Perry paired a blue french pedicure with her Prada flame shoes.
Nail art on your toes. Toe nail art. No matter how you say it, it still comes out a little weird, both tumbling off your tongue and when you start to think about what you're really saying. Obviously we are about nail art in all its forms, but for some reason our minds get a little turned around when it comes to thinking about putting designs on our toes. Katy Perry, on the other hand, has been rocking bedazzled, patterned paws since way back. We thought, if anyone can help us understand, well, anything, it's Katy, so we took a spin through her toe nail looks of the past, to see if maybe we could make more sense of things. Katy's nail art is always more understated than her glittery, popcorn covered claws, but that's to be expected--there are practical concerns to take into account here, like wearing shoes.
We don't know about you guys, but when we hear the name "Snooki," we immediately conjure up an image of the mini meatball decked out in head-to-toe leopard print with bronzed skin, long black waves, a serious smokey eye and, of course, frosted pink lips. We've discussed the lips-that-are-lighter-than-your-skin phenomenon (the verdict is still out on whether it's totally fierce or a total fail), and it looks like Snooks is bringing her much-talked about makeup trend to the masses. The former Jersey Shore star is releasing her first-ever lipstick with Ka'Oir Cosmetics called "Snookilicious." The baby pink (heh, good one momma-to-be!) lip color comes in a matte/satin finish inside a black tube with her signature scrawled across the front. The lipstick currently retails for $21.99, and is available for pre-order right this second. We have to admit, though, that we're actually sort of into this color because it has no hint of high-shine gloss or metallic glitter that makes a traditional frosted lip gloss so cringe-inducing. But, like, what's in frosted lipstick that gives it that high-shine glow? We needed to find out.
