It's a daunting pursuit to accurately describe fashion magician/sartorial-slaying super-hero/"Nicopanda," aka Nicola Formichetti. Also, I'm frightened of those Little Monster paws, so take it easy you guys. But I will blog the obvious: he's amazing. Reminders: as Gaga's Fashion Director, Formichetti is responsible for upgrading the universe's reigning pop sartorial superstar's penchant for hair bows and disco sticks for racy rotting meat dresses/bloody berets and nabbing many an award (see: 2011’s CFDA Fashion Icon Award) and Vogue cover (I personally fashion fancy the Lynn Yaeger moment albeit with a cotton candy bob). Formichetti’s also creative director of Mugler, and let me just say, last week's immaculate show, resulted in me having euphoric dreams involving patent leather perfection and spitting Azealia Banks' flows in my sleep. #SorryRoomie Additionally, he's fashion ambassador for UNIQLO, EIC of Vogue Hommes Japan, and supremely talented at being a foxy drool-inducing dream boat. *Faints* I'm also quite impressed with the fashion-y fact that he made pandas chic. #WhoRunTheWorld? So, as y'all can imagine, I'm SO EXCITED for today's especially special Favorite Things. Spoiler Alert: If you're anything like hot messy me, you will want everythang. You will open a credit card or seven in preparation for the debut of his Nicopanda line and international pop-up shops. You will drunk cry tequila tears whilst getting a Nicopanda tramp-stamp. In short, ahuh, I totally wanna marry the fashion knight (had to!).
Katy Perry wore President Obama themed nail art for her 30 Days to Victory performance.

There are a few things that you can always count on Katy Perry to deliver in spades: ear-wormy pop music, commitment to a theme, and killer nail art. Miss KP had a big weekend, performing for both UCLA's Hammer Gala AND President Barack Obama's "30 Days To Victory Concert," but it was at Mr. President's star-studded Sunday night fundraiser that Katy hit that homerun trifecta. Case in point: this INCREDIBLE red-white-and-blue, Obama'nicure.
Ok so she's not all the way down to her birthday suit, but Rihanna is nearly naked in a photo for her fragrance, Nude, that she leaked on Instagram over the weekend. She posted the photo, alongside the caption "Here is my new add [sic] for a brand new fragrance #NUDE !!! Make sure you smell sexy, especially naked, this fall!!!" on Friday evening, starting off the holiday weekend with a big piece of news. The campaign also shows Ri with as an old Hollywood-style blonde, a hair look that's completely unlike the super fashionable pixie cut she's been sporting since the 2012 VMA's. She shot the steamy pics back in May, when she announced, also via Instagram, that she would be putting out the new fragrance, and we've been tapping our toes wondering about them ever since. With Nude set to be released this fall, however, they're right on schedule for a super hot holiday release.

Alright, are you guys ready for a House of Style double whammy?! Earlier this week we brought you Lacee Swan's model t-shirts featuring our new House of Style host Karlie Kloss. And now we've learned that Deer Dana has teamed up with Opening Ceremony on a new tee inspired by our original HOS girl, Cindy Crawford! **MIND EXPLOSION** Obviously, we need to have them both. And the fact that the Cindy version comes courtesy of one of our favorite NYC-based streetwear brands is just the icing on top of this veryyyy fashionable cake! Deer Dana's already rolled out tees splashed with images of Kanye, Justin Bieber, and Agyness Deyn, so it's about time the original 'supes gets her own. Along with Cindy, the Deer Dana x OC collection also includes Naomi Campbell and Linda Evangelista.... um, hello '90s reunion!
Happy Friday, y'all! If you're a big do-it-yourself-er and are in the market for a heavy-lifting Halloween costume you can get cracking on NOW, might we suggest going this year as Lady Gaga? Lady Gaga is the kind of pop star Halloween was made for, and we at MTV Style are obviously subscribers to her every move, making us the perfect fit to unpack her iconic looks for your All Hallows evening. Put your paws up, roll up your sleeves, and be prepared to get a little dirty. Your Mother Monster Halloween hack starts now!
1. MEAT DRESS REPRISE

Gaga made The Meat Dress a household name back at the 2010 Video Music Awards, which may make you think it's played. BUT Gagaloo brought the beef frock back this year for her current Born This Way Ball tour and in an updated (also, WAY easier to replicate) strapless version with a bullett belt! Get a similar look yourself by nabbing up a strapless cotton/jersey dress with a bit of a flared skirt. Print close-up photos of raw meat onto a TON of sheets of iron-on transfer paper. Follow the directions on the packaging and adhere the sheets to the dress - the paper will also make the flouncy skirt a little more rigid like Gaga's. Slip on a bullet belt at the waist of the dress, a pair of fishnet heels, and you're ready to go!
+ Dress: Cotton Spandex Jersey High-Waist Skirt ($34.00)
+ Belt: Bullet Belt ($5.99)
+ Iron-On Transfer Paper: Epson Iron-On Cool Peel Transfer Paper ($14.62)
Nina Dobrev in the November issue of 'Glamour.'
Photo: Via Glamour
First off, WUT. Is Nina Dobrev even human? Well, if you're asking about her character(s) on The Vampire Diaries that's a complicated answer, but we're seriously wondering how a real person could look this good. Nina models some killer hairstyles in Glamour's—wait for it—hair issue, and now we're totally inspired to start playing around with our own strands. In her first look, she wears a sky-high, textured, updated beehive 'do. This is like taking the messy bun to the next level (literally), and we're ALL for it. Apparently all it takes is some Oscar Blandi Pronto Texture & Volume Spray and some serious back-combing commitment to get this piled-high look. (We gotta give extra kudos to the butterfly clip, too!)
Solange, Carly Rae Jepsen and Ashley Madekwe.

With an abbreviated cut, bold colors, and tons of pattern play, short suits are kind of like the traditional suit's cooler little sister. Sure, they might take cues from the Wall Street staple, but THIS version has way more edge...and Solange, Carly Rae Jepsen, and Ashley Madekwe are here to prove it. We all know that Solange is pretty much the QUEEN of suits (bowing down), what with her ridiculously awesome printed numbers in her new "Losing You" vid and the mismatched separates she shows off for Madewell. But this week, the singer traded her signature prints for a solid pink ensemble by Twenty8Twelve, which she wore over a checked Preen blouse. We're digging the quirky accessories vibe here, too, with her black and white Nicholas Kirkwood sandals and the Union Jack Charlotte Olympia Clutch. You know the term "transitional pieces"? Well, considering we're currently dealing with 80-degree October weather, the short suit just might be our Indian Summer secret weapon.
Beyonce reveals her House of Dereon Winter 2012 campaign.

What's that you say? You thought it was fall? Why is Beyonce already making us all painfully aware of the creeping cold snap with her Winter 2012 House of Dereon campaign when it's only October? WELL, that's because Miss Bey is a smart business lady. She knows you're booking Thanksgiving flights, daydreaming about mom's mashed potatoes, and she realizes how QUICKLY the holiday season is going to creep up on you. You're going to need gifts for your besties and some show-stopping cocktail dresses for the infinity billion eggnog fiestas you're going to pen into your calendar. That's why she's making doubly sure that House of Dereon is your first association with the season to come. Don't sleep on Bey. Girl knows what she's doing.
Jennifer Lawrence on the November cover of Vogue UK.

It's undeniable: Jennifer Lawrence has made it. She's been nominated for an Oscar (for her role as Ree in Winter's Bone), been in a gigantic hit movie, and even has a Barbie made in her likeness--if that's not success we really don't know what is. But up until now, guess what? She's never been on the cover of any version of Vogue magazine. Sure, she's done W, Rolling Stone, and yes, appeared in a spread in the American edition of Vogue, but never the cover. It's all gonna change when the November issue of Vogue UK is released, with Lawrence absolutely killing the cover shot. Wearing an ornate black and white, body con dress, loose waves and orangey red lipstick, Lawrence looks much more relaxed than she did on her futuristic bird themed W cover, but still looks 100% as glamorous.
