The internet is truly a magical place. Apart from the ease and speed it brings to disseminating information and images and kitten videos, it also shatters some sort of unholy social barrier, allowing people to post the most random, potentially embarrassing ish to public forums with no greater consequence than a Kanye shrug. Imagine, for instance, if this world wide web didn't exist. Would you still consider tacking a picture of yourself in long underwear to your front door? Your local community bulletin board? Probably not. And yet, in these progressive digital times, it's perfectly acceptable for Justin Bieber and Rihanna to upload images of themselves clad in skintight onesies to the interwebz.

OK, let's be real for a second: When have you seen a Christmas-themed manicure that you ACTUALLY wanted to recreate on your own? Probaabbbllyy close to never. And you know what? It's not your fault! Red and green just don't mix well with everyone's wardrobe, and we're tired of the same ol' presents with bows or kooky reindeer or Santa's ginormo face (no diss to Father Christmas) on our fingertips. We want something new—and not sososo over-the-top obvious and cheesy. Alas, there are solutions out there! What is it about Mondays that makes them the soul-cracking blackhole of the week? You convince yourself you're doing it right: have a restful weekend, wake up at the first alarm, prepare yourself for a good start, and so quickly, all of that falls apart, sending your day into a tailspin FECUND with accidents and misfortune. You can't find your keys (they're in the door), your train is late (or you are), you get to work and realize you have a run in your tights the size of the Mississippi River. Basically, your life is an Alanis Morissette song (specifically one from the era immediately after dating Uncle Joey from Full House). That is until RIGHT NOW. Chin up, Debbie Downer, because Elle Taiwan put Hello Kitty on double covers for their December issue, and no amount of bad Monday juju can eff with that.

OK, stop what you're doing right now. We're serious. Are you aware that today is one gigantic celebration of EPIC proportions? Do you know that this afternoon (or evening or NIGHT, depending on where you are) marks the culmination of MTV Iggy's global search for the 2011 Best New Band in the World? And, more importantly, that the winner of this year's search is the totally bonkers bananas crazy face AMAZING K-Pop girl band 2NE1? You should either A) be screaming at this point like we are, B) lined up outside MTV's Times Square headquarters also screaming, or C) about to click on this link right here to catch the livestream of the MTV Iggy Best New Band Live concert (4:00 p.m. ET) to scream while watching 2NE1 make their stateside debut. Jessie J Vs. Pharrell Williams: Who Wore A Military Hat And Cutoffs Better?

It could just be a case of the Mondays, but we think we're seeing double. Either that or the style gods have decreed that military hats and cutoff shorts are the latest in attention-grabbing garb at events. Both Jessie J and Pharrell Williams wore almost the exact same ensemble recently—namely a military hat with DIY adornments, a T-shirt, cutoff jean shorts, and combat boots—yet tweaked to their appropriate genders and tastes. Could Jessie have been influenced by Pharrell's look, which he sported TWICE at Art Basel in Miami a few weeks ago? Or are military hats making a comeback and these two just happened get on the trend train a tad early? And what about this shorts situation...in winter?! We have so many questions but, most of all, we want to know this: Who wore the DIY military hat and cutoff jean short combo better?

Usually when we drop a "Who Wore It Better?", we call out to you, MTV Style readers, for preferential guidance by pitting two celebs clad in super similar outfits (or even the very same piece) against each other for our own enjoyment. This edition is a little different. We're narrowing our focus slightly with this go-around, strapping gloves onto actress/songstress/music royalty Miley Cyrus against...HERSELF! Miley had a busy weekend hitting up two inspirational soirees in a pair of gold/nude floor-length gowns. Sure, she styles them differently, but at the end of the day, these long flowy frocks are pretty undeniably sims.

Robyn Somersaults In Alexander Wang On 'Saturday Night Live'

The pop music stars were (literally/figuratively/awesomely) aligned on Saturday evening when Swedish pop gem Robyn (and her BANANAS custom platform Timbs) took the SNL stage and former tour homegirl Katy Perry was the night's hostest-with-the-mostess. But was America ready for the Swedish pop tart with a bite and her body-rollin, making-out-with-herself dance moves? She did a backwards-somersault-into-a-full-on-dance-floor-hump while rocking a pristine bowl cut (which our little brothers totally had in '96) WHILST singing "Call Your Girlfriend," and it might've actually changed our lives, like, forevs. *dead* Call US, girlfriend. Not only do we wanna borrow those bouncy moves, we also want to raid that suitcase of yours.

The Best Hair Of 2011

All right, roll call: So far we've shown you the best shoes, the best nails, and even the best makeup, but, girl, we need to talk about that HAIR. From Evan Rachel Wood's dramatic change from shoulder-length waves to a choppy, textured pixie to Katy Perry's slow-but-steady transition from black to pink (!!!), 2011 was filled with epic tonsorial moments that definitely merit mention in our countdown. Some would say we've got the best HAIR RIGHT HURR. Others of us would say that it's corny to say stuff like that out loud. Others still would say that this is a free country and naysayers can suck it. ANYWAY: hair.

RETRO WAVES AND VICTORY ROLLS

It's one thing to spot a gal sporting '50s pin curls or a Marcell waved blonde bob, but it's a whole other ballgame when stylized 'dos look modern. Rihanna's twin Victory Rolls are offset by the casual cascade of bright red curls down her back. Kelly Osbourne's perfected the Marilyn Monroe waved bob with the ideal degree of structure and softness, but the thing that prevents it from becoming too slavish an homage is her rock and roll dark roots. Katy Perry sported a barrel-curled bang that's a fantastic throwback to '40s style but with the contemporary edge of a bright pink palette.

Attention all other pop culture couples: Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez could possibly be the best matchup of all time, of all TIME!!!! (Kanye West voice). No matter what your opinion of Selieber, you have to admit they're pretty freaking cute. And the IDEA of these two adorable STAHS attending a wedding together? That's right up there with the Jay-oncé baby announcement and the Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake reunion we've been planning in our heads. Yes, Belieber were spotted getting their romance on in Los Cabos and folks, THIS is how you attend a wedding in style!
