Britney Spears

Britney Spears: turtlenecks' biggest fan.
GIF: Jenny Shafei

No one loves turtlenecks more than Britney Spears. It's just a fact. From her immaculate white "Sometimes" top to her red latex "Oops...I Did It Again" catsuit to her mid-aughts Starbucks run uniforms, the Louisiana girl-turned-woman has been a fan of the hyper-modest neckline since way back her earliest days of pop superstardom. That's not to say she didn't also delve into lower-cut territory (and midriff-baring and micro hemlines) because she totally totally did, but Brit's thing for turtlenecks, and even a subtle mock neck, is pretty unique, and with the exception of Spears herself has remained a relic of the late '90s until now.

Despite it not necessarily being the most flattering steez for most normal humans, Britney has stood by the look for over a decade and may be the precise origin to blame responsible for the sartorial phenomenon that is the short-sleeved, cropped turtleneck. Now, to celebrate her 32nd year (AND because we're right on the heels of her eighth studio album Britney Jean), we're offering up 32 turtlenecks for any brave lady (Brit included) whose closet (and clavicle) is feeling a little bare.

Ahhh, Black Friday. The way retailers keep pushing it up earlier and earlier, you've likely been at the Black Friday grind for a few hours now. In that case, this little story might not help you. But if for some reason, we're catching you on your way out for your very first Black Friday ever, we have a few pieces of advice: dress for battle, keep your spirits high, and watch your back.

For most special occasions, especially dinners, there's an unwritten dress code that you should put forth a little extra style effort. Thanksgiving, on the other hand, is (in our opinion) and major exception. Maybe it's just because WE approach it like an Olympic sport (in over-eating), but as far as we're concerned here, vastly different rules apply.

Multiple Mother Monsters.
Photo: @ladygaga's Twitter

Sorry, World. Japan officially loves Lady Gaga the most. (Please don't kill the messenger.) But, I mean, it's true. Japan loves Gaga SO much that they out Tussaud'ed Madame Tussauds (and out creeped Lars and the Real Girl) by making an entire army of Mother Monsters. An army that plays ARTPOP from the heart AND wears 9-inch platform stilettos. #upgrade Also, you can apparently hug these Gaga clones without getting swept up by burly security guards. At least, that's what a video from Yahoo! Japan implies.

Lady Gaga tweeted a photo of three VERY real-looking "GagaDolls" sitting on a couch in Japan with the caption, "Who needs barbies when you can own your own life size pop star that sings to you #gagadollz." Hey, Santa? Is it too late to add this to my Christmas list?

Kanye West

It's been over a week now since Kanye West debuted his music video for "Bound 2" on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and yet, we STILL can't stop talking about it. Part of that is due to a second wave of attention spurned by Seth Rogen and James Franco's "Bound 3" parody which took the interwebz by storm earlier this week. The other part is because we're probably never going to get over seeing Kim's nippleless silhouetted boobs. #imprinted4life Regardless of how or why, the moving visuals for the Yeezus closing track are still a very hot topic, even for Ye himself, who revealed the treatment for the surreal Americana steelo in an interview with Power 105.1 FM's The Breakfast Club. "I wanted to take white trash t-shirts and turn it into a video," Kanye divulged.

While it's unclear what exactly Ye is referring to with that "white trash t-shirts" nod, we think we know where he's going with the reference—those weird tees printed with images of howling wolves and dolphins and way oversized animal faces that used to be nerdy and have since resurfaced ironically in hipsters' (and Tyler the Creator's) closets. Sure, Jerry Saltz's comparisons to Richard Prince's Cowboy photographs did more to elevate the work than the parallels we're about to draw, but we like to think it was Kanye's aim all along to pull from and marry the high and low brow ends of the cultural matrix. And so, without further ado, here are nine t-shirts we think might have inspired the treatment for Kanye West's "Bound 2" music video.

Word to the wise: anyone who tells you that they already know exactly what they're packing for Thanksgiving break is a flat-out liar. Or, like, a really good planner and someone we could all stand to learn something from. Either way, packing for a four-day weekend can be harder than packing for a two-week trip—because if you're going away for a legit long-vacay, you at least have an excuse to stow away half of everything you own.

For a shorter stay-over (and one that revolves around eating, at that), it's way better to condense your clothes into a bag or two and be comfy—which translates into cutting back on shoes and purses. *GASP* I know, I know. The HORROR. Let's be honest though: you're praahbably not going to clomp around the kitchen in those strappy suede stilettos you just bought. And do you really need to bring a giant tote when you'll be parked on the couch in a food coma for most of the weekend anyway? That's what I thought. ~Tough Love~

So, in an effort to help guide you through your inevitable procrastination, we went ahead and put together an entire Thanksgiving wardrobe that's all ready to be crammed into a carry-on.

Maybe you're meeting up with friends for lunch. Maybe you're headed to that one place in town where you ALWAYS run into EVERYBODY. Or maybe you just need an excuse to venture outside and change out of your PJs. No matter what you're doing during the day, being at home shouldn't be an excuse to look as lazy as you feel. Besides, no one has to know that you're actually wearing jeggings.

Harry Styles

HEY, MEN. Want long, luxurious locks like Harry Styles? You're in luck! Great Lengths, a British hair extension company, has a line of "Men-Hancements" (LOL), which the men of London are using on the regular. British men are so into extensions that the company says that men will account for 10% of their sales this year. That's a lot of "men-hancements," y'all!

The site has pictures of models and men who decided to "men-hance" themselves and, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but none of them come close to approximating the undone, voluminous coiffure that's now signature to Harry. That hair, with its front height and side curls cannot (and should not, IMHO) be attempted by anyone else: we saw that last week in the One Direction ad for Macy's.

Will.I.Am and Miley Cyrus in the video for "Feelin' Myself."
Photo: Interscope Records

These days, seeing Miley Cyrus perform in the equivalent of underwear is pretty much the norm. She's shown us that, no matter the season, most occasions call for a high-cut, two-piece outfit and platform shoes. (Sidebar: she must save SO much storage and packing space without all those pesky pants to fold!) Naturally, her outfit in Will.I.Am's new joint for "Feelin' Myself" is no exception. Cyrus wears black latex separates, matching strappy heels and a gold chain belt to rap and shake her booty "like an expert" in the video, which also features appearances by French Montana and Wiz Khalifa. Oh, and that chain-link bomber she covers up with? Turns out, it didn't come from on-set wardrobe—it came from her very own closet.
