When designers pull out all the stops to outfit Hollywood's biggest stars, as was the case at last night's Golden Globe Awards, accessories have a tendency to get lost in the shuffle. Luckily for us detail-oriented folks, there were a few style sidekicks that earned themselves a starring role in the night's most memorable moments. And no, we're not strictly talking about jewelry and beaded clutches here. We're talking about accessories in the unconventional sense of the word. Take a look at the biggest scene-stealers...
AMY POEHLER'S 'RANDY' WIG

During the three-hour telecast's mid-show lull, our reliable hostesses (all hail Tina and Amy) performed a little stunt to kick us out of our Seamless-delivery food coma. As Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick showed off their Miss Golden Globe daughter, Sosie Bacon, Tina Fey interrupted to introduce the world to her illegitimate love child Randy, a.k.a. Mr. Golden Globe, a.k.a. Amy Poehler in a flippy Justin Bieber-esque wig. It was one of the best gags of the night, and that highlighted 'do stole the show. P.S. Does anyone else think Amy was one of the hottest guys in attendance? Just me? *ACHEM* Moving on...
Lady Gaga at NBC's 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards Party.

In the world of music and fashion, a day without a Lady Gaga sighting feels like an eternity. While we got used to seeing Mother Monster everywhere (and in numerous outfits) throughout November and December, she's barely been spotted in the new year. The last time we saw her perform was on The Voice with Christina Aguilera, when the duo wore matching iridescent-gold chiffon outfits. It looks like Gaga may have had some shiny material left over, because she wore a very similar look to NBC's Golden Globes after-party last night.
Taking the name of the awards show rather literally, Gaga joined her BF, Taylor Kinney, on the after-party circuit in a gold lamé dress. While her Voice jumpsuit was billowy and full-coverage, Gaga's Globes dress showed off some skin with its high slit, single sleeve, and bejeweled corset bodice. When LG comes back into our lives, she comes in BIG.
When it comes to discussing the looks of leading ladies, no one finds the words quite like our friend Jarvis Derrell of #shehashadit. Jarvis sat down with Christina Garibaldi from MTV News to talk about the best and *achem* more risky fashion choices from the 2014 Golden Globes. They chat about wearing red on the red carpet, how to pull off a gown when pregnant, and so much more, all under four minutes!

Listen, I've lived in several neighborhoods over the course of my five-plus year tenure in New York—but after the 2014 Golden Globes, I'm 99.9% sure that the only block I want to live on from now until forever is the COLOR BLOCK. *ba dum TSH, swings microphone around on cord, points and winks at crowd* Seriously, though. We saw a lot of trends at the second major awards show of the season: braids, brights, and most surprising, man-buns. But none made their mark quite like the color-blocked gown.
Taylor Swift, nominated for Best Original Song for "Sweeter Than Fiction" from One Chance, chose a sweetheart-cut, pre-Fall 2014 gown by Carolina Herrera, which featured a black partial bustier and cherry-red body with a gathered train. Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical winner Amy Adams (for American Hustle) wore a Maison Valentino number with an imitable color scheme, but Adams' pick featured a Merlot-tinted top and an *ACHEM* more risqué plunging neckline.
While the People's Choice Awards may have ~officially~ kicked off the 2014 awards season, tonight's Golden Globes really catapulted the year of red carpet fashion into high gear. We pulled out six well-heeled ladies from the 2014 PCAs, but now, we're bringing you a list of 10 for the Globes (though, TBH, we were tempted to just crown Lupita Nyong'o THE best dressed and go home, because girl SHUT IT DOWN).

I mean, do I really need to explain this decision? The 12 Years A Slave actress showed up EARLY to the Golden Globes red carpet wearing Ralph Lauren, and even well before most of the attendees arrived, she had clinched her position as the best dressed lady of the night. It's solid but not boring thanks to that almost-neon red hue. It's body-conscious without looking grossly painted on, and those classic RL clean lines are softened by her warm, beaming smile. With its straight off-the-shoulder neckline and long cape, the gown is definitely fashion forward, but this is also 100% the kind of timeless ensemble that we'll be looking back fondly on for YEARS. (P.S. If this is what she pulls out for the Globes, we can't WAIT to see what she whips out for the Oscars.)
