Emma Watson in Christopher Kane's Green Carpet Challenge gown.
Photo: Bjorn Iooss for Net-a-Porter/The Edit

Child star, shmild star. At 23, Emma Watson is a grown Muggle woman—and The Edit’s got the pictures to prove it. Polished, poised and far, FAR from Hermione, the actress and eco-activist was recently tapped by Green Carpet Challenge creator, Livia Firth, to star in an editorial spread that supports ethical fashion AND looks super pretty. BTW, if you’re scratching your head about the phrase “ethical fashion,” it’s not as cray as it may seem. And it’s not all tie-dye and Tevas and giant threads of harsh hemp made into a basket-weave bodice. (Although, if something like that exists, I would very much like to see it.)

What the WHAT?! We talk about Demi Lovato's goddess-like quality on the reg here at MTV Style—her waist-length mermaid tendrils, her impenetrable beauty game, her epitomization of boho chic—but never have we been SO taken aback with truly breathtaking AWE than when our eyes fell upon Miss Lovato looking hella glamourous on the red carpet of last night's Latin Grammy Awards. I meannnn, how can you not be stopped dead in your tracks by that glossy scarlet pout, neckline cut all the way to there, and aaaaall that glowing SKIN. *raises single emphatic palm of approval* YES.

Mia Wasikowska at the 'Restless' premiere in Cannes on May 12.
Photo: Getty Images

• All eyes were on Mia Wasikowska when she stepped on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival to premiere her new film Restless. She KILLED IT in a long, fitted Roland Mouret burgundy gown that somehow mixed elegant and chic in the most perfect way possible. We also cannot WAIT to see this Gus Van Sant-directed film! {Just Jared}

Glee's Dianna Agron cut off her long blonde locks! Her new chunky layered bob really accentuates her gorgeous facial structure, which we are TOTALLY digging. Also, Dianna, nice job pretending you got an amazing haircut from a weird medieval dagger. LAWLZ. {Perez Hilton}

Ginnifer Goodwin teamed up with Milk & Honey to design shoes for charity! We're loving these $270 bright orange pumps that will donate part of the proceeds to St. Jude's Children’s Hospital. See, boys? Shopping is GOOD and WORTHWHILE and HELPFUL to people, which means we need to do it more. {InStyle}

• First we read that chokers were making a comeback, but now fanny packs too? The late '90s and early 2000s style is definitely making it's resurgence whether you like it or not! What's next, the all-over hair buns? {Stylelist}

• The top 14 competitors in the all-star season of America's Next Top Model have been revealed! With the girls already prepared for the fierceness Tyra brings to the judging table, we can't WAIT to see what happens in these photo shoots. {The Cut}

• A beauty pageant mom has been giving her 8-year-old daughter Botox to soften her "smile lines" for when she competes on stage. The little girl has also tried waxing her legs, which she never plans on doing again. {Coco Perez}

• If you're feeling like you need a spritz of perfume in a jiffy, nosh on this rose-flavored candy, which emits a chemical that can't be digested through your pores. You'll smell good AND you get to eat candy, so this is obvi a win-win situation. {Fashionista}

You know how when you think of GOING TO PARIS you picture yourself against the most glorious backdrops wearing the most effortlessly chic garb? A chapeau maybe. Or a bateau-neck striped St. James three-quarter-sleeve thing with an insanely tied scarf in a knot that is basically the secret handshake to Parisian lady-onlookers so they can know INSTANTLY that you, too, are awesome? Storybook vistas of sunny, cobblestone sidewalks and romantic cafés (with the best light) where you sit outside so all of the arrondissements and stuff can take note of your mind-blowingly perfect ensembles (obvi). I don't know about you, but Beyoncé just put all of my fantasies to shame with her outfits THIS WEEKEND ALONE. But then, why am I surprised? SHE'S BEYONCÉ.

Who else but B can move so effortlessly between looking polished and edgy? One day, she'll rock a black Roland Mouret jumpsuit with round-frame sunglasses and an expertly disheveled bedhead look. The next, she's en route to an Easter brunch at Fouquets, perfectly primped in a two-toned Marc Jacobs polka-dot frock, Christian Louboutin peep toes, and Balmain satchel. And don't even get me started on this petaled/sheer Gucci dress/masterpiece she wore for a photoshoot with Harper's Bazaar. DEEEEAAAAAADEDEDED and then revived ONLY TO DIE AGAIN.

Balmain, it seems, was a kind of theme for the weekend, as we see her pictured carrying the ubiquitous satchel — this time paired with a black-and-gold asymmetrical dress by Isabel Marant and T-strap heels by Alexander McQueen — and again at Paris Disney in head-to-toe Balmain (minus the Goofy hat). P.S. Who but Beyoncé can still look STONE COLD GORGE in a GOOFY HAT?? Like, it's not in my Paris fantasies but maybe it should be?!? Alls we're saying is, thank you. Thank you for taking our very reveries and making them regular. Middling at best. But with an approachable smile and total, 100 percent aplomb. Fin.

The Upper East Siders are back, and as decked out in Marchesa and Diane Von Furstenberg as ever. Last night's episode of Gossip Girl ("The Kids Stay in the Picture") opens with the media blitz surrounding Lily Humphrey's (Kelly Rutherford) legal woes--remember when she signed her daughter's name on an affidavit that sent an innocent man to jail (it's really wayyyyy more complicated than that, but...). The subplot centers around the massive amounts of drama created by the photo shoot for a fancy pants annual who's who book called Modern Royalty (basically, it's a coffee table book filled with portraits of rich families). Meanwhile, Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick) wonders why he's suddenly getting the cold shoulder from Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester). News flash, Chucky-boo, she kissed Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley) and the two caught feelings for each other...or so we thought. Blair actually realized that it's Chuck she wants. Ugh! Love triangles! Oh, and there's a new Upper East Sider on the block. Serena Van Der Woodsen's (Blake Lively) sheltered cousin Charlie (Kaylee DeFer) spends a day in the Van Der Woodsen world, and falls in love (hello! what's not to love about Rouland Mouret?). After Serena buys Charlie $1000 worth of clothes, Carol (Charlie's mom and Lily's sister) flips. Against her mother's will, Charlie decides she wants to stay on the UES indefinitely. Charlie's mom hints at a past situation serious enough to get her kicked out of school. Hmmm...the way she was eying Blair's Coco Chanel and Louboutins...and Dan, we wonder if the secret is that she likes to take things. Watch your Prada, people.

The little black dress is, without a doubt, a fashion staple. Some might even say it’s the ONLY fashion staple. And this past year, we saw celebrities and fashionistas rock the LBD in a number of gorgeous styles, from embellished minis like those worn by Olivia Palermo to leather frocks like those on Jessica Alba. Let’s take a look at our favorites.

KRISTEN STEWART: Kristen Stewart attended theTwilight Saga: Eclipse screening in a long-sleeve RM by Roland Mouret Fall 2010 dress adorned with plum and silver embellishments. The actress finished her look with classic black pumps—so elegant!

VANESSA HUDGENS: Vanessa Hudgens proved she’s not afraid to show a little skin in this strapless black mini with cutouts on the side. The dress may have been on the simple side, but Vanessa spiced it up with festive strappy sandals and a wrist-full of bangles.

AUDRINA PATRIDGE: Romance was the theme of Audrina Patridge’s black dress, which had exaggerated puff sleeves and a pretty side bow pinned at the waist.
