He's back.

The decision is in. LeBron James is headed BACK to the Cleveland Cavaliers. I'll be honest, I personally am not a LeBron fan (*winces, ducks for cover*), but for the days between announcing he would opt out of his contract with the Miami Heat and play the field as a free agent, I couldn't help feeling I was being held emotionally hostage by the impending move. Was it all a power move to renegotiate with the Heat? Would he hop to yet another team? Was there actually a chance that he could sign with—*GASP*—my Lakers??? Every scenario seemed up for grabs. But the only one that felt "right"—in what felt like everyone's eyes, not just James'—was a grand homecoming to Ohio.

Andrew Wiggins

Look at that jacket. And those SHOES!
Photo: Getty Images

That headline is a little misleading. I'm not actually asking for your opinion here. I just pretended that I was interested in whatever counter-argument you might make, so that you'd click through. I've spent the last 24 hours poring over throwback NBA Draft photos, and Andrew Wiggins, as far as I can tell, is hands down the best dressed first overall pick of all-time. Bar none. Come at me if you feel otherwise, but I'm. not. budging.

I'm not just saying this because Wiggins has been one of the most highly anticipated draft picks in recent years—so much so that many teams this year were accused of "riggin' for Wiggins" or intentionally tanking to better their odds at landing an earlier slot and nabbing him up before the other teams. I'm saying this because look at that jacket.

Think about every college-age dude you know. Now, think about the last time you saw one of them in a suit jacket. Or some slim trousers with just the right amount of ankle showing—let alone pants that actually fit them. And I'm not even going to make you rack your brain for a memory of them ever wearing a velvet smoking slipper or a lapel pin because even though I've never met them/know what their lives are like, I'm pretty sure 90% of them have never even seen either of those things IRL. If that's not enough to convince you, let's take a look back at the past few drafts' style... "highlights" is too generous of a word, but whatever, let's go with that.

Russell Westbrook

Russell Westbrook is v stylish, and soon, the whole world will know.
Photo: Getty Images

Unfortunately for those of us looking forward to another Heat v. Thunder accessories arms race, the Oklahoma City Thunder narrowly missed their chance to play in this year's NBA Finals—leaving those of us invested in the Western Conference (for reasons I won't get into on this platform) with the Spurs. (Listen, they're a great team, one of the greatest, most consistent of all time, don't get me wrong, but from the fashion side of things offer only this.) But for those of you who, like us, are pining for the days of yore, there's a silver lining. WWD reports that OKC point guard Russell Westbrook is teaming up with Barneys for a very special collaboration. So dust off your lensless glasses, folks. Russ is about to turn your closet UP.

There are two major reasons we look forward to basketball season each year: the thrill of athletic competition and seeing what Rihanna will wear. With the 2014 NBA Finals kicking off tonight, this season will soon be coming to a close (boo!). But on the bright side, we still have one more round of games to watch—and to keep our fingers crossed for more Rihanna sightings.

We've rounded up every single one of the looks Badgal RiRi has rocked in the front row at various arenas this year, and there are a LOT of them. You see, Rihanna is a fan of the NBA, generally—she doesn't discriminate in the name of basketball. Rih cheers on the Nets, the Lakers, the Clippers, the Heat. Often, these teams play each other and when that happens, Rihanna just cheers. Not only is this very endearing, but also, the moments of enthusiastic on-her-feet applause give us all a better look at her outfit. And for that, we're very thankful.

Match-Up: Golden State Warriors vs. Los Angeles Lakers
Final Score: 95-102 Lakers
Why We Love It: Unclear what's cuter—Rihanna's cameo-adorned Silver Spoon Attire camo bucket hat, or her new (and by "new" I mean new to the world—dude can't even be a decade old) friend.

Match-Up: Portland Trailblazers vs. Los Angeles Lakers
Final Score: 108-114 Trailblazers
Why We Love It: Flexing her signature high-low style, Rihanna wore a Fila snapback and New Balances with a $1,019 Jonathan Simkhai silver leather pencil skirt. She could buy 13 pairs of New Balances for the price of the skirt.

Today, Forever 21 released their collaboration collection with the NBA. From loose layering tanks to teeny mesh shorts, cropped short-sleeved jerseys to easy T-shirt dresses, the range features sporty but still feminine pieces repping seven of the league's teams: the L.A. Lakers and Clippers, the New York Knicks, the Brooklyn Nets, the Boston Celtics, the Miami Heat, and the Chicago Bulls. Most of the items are free of player affiliations by way of names and numbers, but there are a few special cases.

IDK about you, but I generally like to know at least a little about what I'm wearing before I step out into the world repping it, so if you feel the same and need some schooling in the NBA history department, I'm here to help. Consider this your Forever 21 x NBA collection primer.

Dennis Rodman

Thanks to Miley Cyrus, Mike Will Made It, and their "23" ode to Michael Jordan and his namesake shoes, '90s-era Chicago Bulls gear is cooler than ever (well, since the actual '90s, anyway). Naturally, that solidified their spot in this collab line, but instead of showcasing the team's current star, #1 Derrick Rose, a Bulls dress ($16) AND a bodysuit ($14) feature The Worm, #91 Dennis Rodman. Rodman is definitely one of the greats and certainly one of the most fashion-forward NBA players, maybe ever, so this is a good pick for the edgier/nostalgic NBA fan.

LeBron James

LeBron James puts on his mask.
Photo: Getty Images

Masks: They've been around forever! Perhaps even literally since anthropologists haven't been able to pinpoint the origin of face coverings (yet). The world's oldest known surviving mask is made of stone, dates to 7000 B.C., and currently lives at Musee Biblique in France, but there's no telling whether people were shielding their mugs well before that or not.

Masks come in all shapes and sizes, from lacquered, half-face, Phantom of the Opera joints to flashy but flimsy full-dome luchador numbers. Much of the time they're purely aesthetic—a visual aid to some form of entertainment (see: Jabbawockeez) or meant to conceal identity (Anonymous' Guy Fawkes)—but they're functional accessories, too. A mask is a muzzle for Hannibal Lecter, a kind of painkiller for Bane, and far less terrifyingly (well, to some), a facial shield for Lebron James, who has been wearing a mask during games since breaking his nose last month.

Lupita Nyong'o

In the midst of her unstoppable red carpet tour de force, Lupita Nyong'o has been making an equally impressive mark off the step-and-repeat. Recently, she stopped by Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to dish about her Oscar-nominated role in 12 Years a Slave. Annnd we had to stop ourselves from drooling.

Hear that? *cups right hand to ear and furrows brow, looking longingly into the distance* That's the sound of 2013 slipping away, right through your fingertips. *WOMP WOMP* We hope we've been helping you rehash all the biggest and best moments in FASHUN that this year has had to offer (before whatever havoc you raise on New Year's Eve officially erases it all from your memory), from everyone who went topless in 2013 to our favorite things that Kanye said. Now we're recapping everything you might have missed from the world of sports, which saw its most style-conscious year yet. (Sadly, we had to leave out that time Dennis Rodman had all of the fun at Miami Swim Week.)

LeBron James

Once upon a time, there was a power forward named LeBron James who was rarely ever seen playing without his terrycloth headband. One day, during the sixth game of the 2013 NBA Finals, his Miami Heat played against the San Antonio Spurs and his headband fell off. What followed was one of LeBron's greatest games of all time. It was henceforth known and written into the history books as the LeBron James No-Headband Game.

Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus has been repping the Chicago Bulls for years.
Photo: @mileycyrus' Twitter

I've gotta get something off my chest: I was a little scandalized by Miley Cyrus' Chicago Bulls ensemble for Mike Will Made It's "23" music video. No, not because she was basically wearing underwear with high heels or a pair of bike shorts with a trompe l'oeil thong. Not even because of that microscopic Chanel bag! (But while we're on it, WTF can even fit in there??) Nope. Miles got me with that chopped and screwed Michael Jordan #23 jersey. I get goosebumps picturing a pair of scissors hitting that mesh. Does she know what she's doing?! I mean, what would MJ say??

Space Jam

If you're an at all vocal fan of Space Jam—even now, 17 years after its initial release—chances are good that at least five of your friends have sent you the 30 for 30 parody that started making the interweb rounds early this week (after you already found it yourself because you maaaayyyy or may not have a Google Alert for the movie). You've loved it forever and stop everything to watch when it plays on HBO Family (even though you own it on VHS and DVD. The sudden thrust of the beloved 1996 live-action/animated film starring legendary Michael Jordan with a cast of Looney Tunes characters (and Bill Murray) comes as a combined result of RAMPANT '90s nostalgia and the fact that the anniversary of Space Jam's release is today. We're celebrating the best way we know how: Jock Jams, R. Kelly, and SHOPPING!
