Style has moved! come with us to mtv news »

We've written over a thousand style stories (we know...A THOUSAND?!) since launching in June of this year, but there were 15 that REALLY struck a chord. Not only did these posts receive tons and tons of comments, but you guys tweeted (and retweeted), Facebooked, and emailed the heck out of each one. Some of your clicks were obvious (Lady Gaga's meat dress!), but other hits were surprising (prom dresses made out of duct tape?). Here's a look back at your favorite posts of 2010...

1. LADY GAGA

This eccentric pop singer/songwriter became a household name in 2010. Don't believe us? Ask your 86-year-old grandmother who Gaga is. We bet she knows ALL about "the dress."

THE MEAT DRESS
Lady Gaga knew that she'd cause a scene by wearing the now-infamous Franc Fernandez-designed real beef dress on stage to accept her award for "Video of the Year" at the MTV Video Music Awards. Her fashion risk paid off--the dress stirred a juicy debate amongst fans.

ALSO:
Meat dress aside, there was plenty more Gaga to gab about this year--from her Lollapalooza fishnet ensembles to her heel-less Noritaka Tatehana-designed shoes, Lady Gaga was one celeb we could count on to keep us on our toes.

4. MTV STARS AT FASHION WEEK

If the MTV Style comments section told the story, the celebs who attended Fashion Week in New York City were just as important as the outfits walking down the runway.

7. EMMA WATSON'S NEW HAIRCUT

When Harry Potter actress Emma Watson did the big chop on her hair, there were those that loved it and those that hated it. Our two cents? SO. CUTE.

8. NICKI MINAJ

Her hair, her clothes, her makeup. Just by stepping out of her house, rapper Nicki Minaj became a most talked about topic.

9. KATY PERRY'S SESAME STREET DRESS

Most of us watched Sesame Street growing up, so it was no surprise that when one of your favorite pop stars, Katy Perry, made a cameo appearance on the kids show you'd want to know what she'd be wearing. Sadly, because of her fitted, cleavage-showing Giles Deacon dress, the episode never aired.

11. KE$HA'S STYLE

Ke$ha's fashion choices eluded us, that was until she came to the MTV studios for an interview. That was when we (and YOU) finally got to hear her explain her whole garbage + glitter fashion mantra.

12. KRISTEN STEWART'S RED HAIR

Before Emma Watson caused a stir by snipping her strands, Kristen Stewart did the same thing over the summer, but with a bottle of red hair dye. Who knew so many of you would have such strong opinions on the Twilight star's new ginger strands?!

13. DUCT TAPE PROM

To say that we were impressed by the entries for the 10th annual Duct Tape Stuck at Prom Scholarship contest was an understatement. We were SHOCKED by what the couples came up with...and so were you!

14. TAYLOR MOMSEN

You got used to seeing Gossip Girl Taylor Momsen with raccoon eyes and ripped tights. But, we could all agree that it was something totally different to hear the Pretty Reckless frontwoman talk about personal style in her own words. "I have a doll collection and I look at their outfits and kind of imitate them," she said.

15. THE BRITNEY SPEARS 'GLEE' EPISODE

Gleeks waited with baited breath to see Britney Spears' cameo on Glee, and they weren't let down. Brit-Brit showcased a taste of her acting chops, while Heather Morris (who plays the cheerleader Brittany) did one of the best Britney Spears immitations we've ever seen by nailing the pop star's moves and mannerisms to a T.

If there's one thing we've learned here at MTV Style from pouring over all of the interviews we've done since our launch last June, it's that A-listers (celebs and designers) say the darndest things about style (i.e. Ke$ha telling us that getting glitter in our guy's beard is like "marking your territory"...and, Bow Wow telling us we "gotta be fly all the time." All the time?!). In case you missed them the first time around, here are some of the best quotes and most interesting tidbits we learned from Hollywood's trendsetters.

Ke$ha
+ 23-year-old singer who proudly trademarked "garbage chic" by wearing a trash bag dress to the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards
On the pros and cons of glitter:
"It's really hard to get the glitter off. I've just given up. I've accepted that it will just be there. It's in all my suitcases, it's usually in my food, in my drinks. Sometimes when I pee, it's in the toilet. I don't know how it got there. Yeah, it's pretty much everywhere. And it also is great if you're making out with a dude with a beard and you have glitter on and you just--ladies, very good tip--just rub your face, just nustle your little face in their beard for just like a second. They won't even notice. They'll just be like, 'Woo! We're making out!' They will have glitter in their beard for like four days, and no other chick will touch them. It's great, it's like peeing on them. It's like marking your territory."

Phillip Lim
+ Renowned fashion designer who created Kanye West's outfits for his short film, "Runaway"
On watching "Runaway":
"I think it is very culturally interesting. It brings together music, fashion, and art, which isn’t a new concept, but it is also something which is quite challenging to do."
Read Everything You Wanted To Know About Kanye West's Phillip Lim Clothes In 'Runaway'

Colleen Atwood
+ Academy Award-winning costume designer who created the looks for My Chemical Romance's 'Sing' music video
On how she made brand new clothes look old and vintage-y:
"Overall, we did a lot of sanding and waxing. We sanded the costumes to soften them up and used wax that we melted with an iron to give them a shiny quality, so it would look like they've been worked in and lived in for a long time. Kind of like when you see homeless people and they're clothes look stiff."
See The Look By Look: My Chemical Romance's 'Sing' Music Video

Franc Fernandez
+ The designer/artist who created the now-infamous meat dress that Lady Gaga wore to the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards
On if it left a bloody trail:
"No, not at all. It's actually very clean meat, very sturdy and strong and doesn't run at all. It's the meat you use to make a roast, where you roll it in a tortilla and put it in the oven. Hence, the shoes — that's why they were wrapped in butcher twine."

Ed Westwick
+ The chest-revealing actor who plays Chuck Bass in Gossip Girl
On men's swimwear options and if he wears little banana hammocks:
"Oh, always. Certainly."
Read Ed Westwick's Take On Little Speedos In The Summer

Martin Izquierdo
+ Acclaimed costume designer who created the wings worn by Selita Ebanks in Kanye West's short film, "Runaway"
On how many feathers were used to build the wings:
"In feather terms, by the time we cut away the parts that aren't used, we used 15 pounds of feathers. We only use the tips of them, and most of the feather was discarded."
Read Everything You Wanted To Know About The Wings Selita Ebanks Wore In Kanye West's 'Runaway'

Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi
+ Jersey Shore star who made headlines this year for abandoning her signature pouf
On how to pick the perfect swimsuit:
"If you look sexy in it, and it makes you look tan, the swimsuits or, you know, the bikini, that's when you wear it. If the bikini makes you look disgusting and pale, then you don't want to wear it. So you definitely need bright colors to make your skin look more tan."
Watch 'Jersey Shore' Style: How To Pick The Perfect Swimsuit
On beach essentials:
"Well definitely the first thing that I bring to the beach is alcohol. You always need a good drink. Definitely water because you get dehydrated. That's pretty much it: Alcohol and water. That's all I need. And a beach chair, obviously."
Watch 'Jersey Shore' Style: Beach Essentials

Cee Lo Green
+ Musician whose hit single "F*** You" was nominated for a Grammy
On the "trend" he likes to see women wear:
"You know what I like with girls? I like the way it looks when they have on the tight jeans. I like the way they stick their cell phones in their back pocket. [Laughs] I've been seeing this so much lately that I don't know if it's something that they've discussed amongst themselves. Like, 'This is the new way to go, girls.' But it looks good. It's got a nice little look to it. It's sexy, please continue."
Watch Video: Cee Lo Says Tight Jeans + Cell Phones = Sexy

Mark Ronson
+ Grammy-winning musician/DJ who dyed his brown hair platinum in July
On whether blondes have more fun:
"I've only had it blond for about two weeks, so it's kind of interesting, I mean, just to change it, like if you're 34 and going through some mid-life crisis or something. But I haven't had markedly any more fun since I've gone blond. In fact, I've had less fun because I think the expectations are so high, of having so much fun being blond, that it hasn't been a great month, no."
Watch Video: Mark Ronson On His Bleached Hair, Men's Fashion, And His Ultimate Style Icon

Noritaka Tatehana
+ Designer behind the gravity-defying shoes that Lady Gaga often trots around in
On the inspiration behind heel-less shoes:
"I am interested in history and in the old culture and would like to divert them into modern world. The unique and creative shape comes from "Kan Pokkuri," which used to be clogs made of empty cans. In the old days, Japanese children used to make these clogs, passing a cord through holes made in the cans. After placing each foot on a can, they tried to walk, holding the cord in their hands."
Read Meet Noritaka Tatehana, The Designer Who Creates Custom Nine-Inch Platform Shoes For Lady Gaga

J. Cole
+ Breakout Roc Nation rapper with a penchant for baggy jeans and bling
On saggy jeans:
"You know what's crazy? Of course, I always sagged my whole life, but I feel like I feel like when I got my deal, I sag so much harder now. Because you know what, I really I feel like man I'm never going to get — well, hopefully — I'm never going to get a 9 to 5. I'm never going to go on job interviews. So it's kind of my rebellion to the world. I'm going to sag my jeans. That's just what I'm gonna do."
Watch Video: J. Cole On Style — I Want To Get A Chain Just To 'Glow A Little Bit'

Bow Wow
+ Rapper-turned-actor-turned-rapper whose next album Underrated is slated to release in early 2011
On the importance of a fly swagger:
"The flyer you are the more attention that you're going to attract. That's what it seems like. Especially with women, because they're so materialistic anyways and they like nice stuff. They can probably point out what you have on before you can even look down at it. So I look at it as the flyer you are, and if you're up on your swagger and your game is tight, I believe clothes…that's presence. That's called presence. That's very important. That's like saying, would I talk a girl if she was in the club in Ugg boots and a ripped-up something and hair all over the place? No! I'm going to talk to the girl in the dress with the heels on and nice oiled legs and she looks good! That's who I want to be around. So you gotta be fly all the time."
Watch Video: Bow Wow Says Oily Legs Are The Secret To Landing A Man

Asher Levine
+ Fashion Designer who made one-of-a-kind pieces for Lady Gaga
On the challenge of designing the white straightjacket coat for Gaga's Today show appearance:
"When she kicked off her Monster Ball tour, they said they wanted a new jacket. They wanted purple at first, so I got three whole cows in purple. It's a lot of skin. It takes about 200 square feet of animal skin to make one of those oversize coats. At the last minute, they go, 'We want it to be white.' So I went back my factory and found all these nice lambskins and cut that up and put it together. And I'm really happy how it turned out."
Read Lady Gaga Style: Meet Asher Levine, The 22-Year-Old Designer Who Dresses Lady Gaga

Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino
+ Ab-licious Jersey Shore star who appeared on Dancing With the Stars this year
On how he chooses his swim trunks:
"I pick my swimsuits just like I pick my women, OK? As soon as I see it, I like it, and that's it. I get it real quick."
Watch 'Jersey Shore' Style: How To Pick The Perfect Swimsuit

T.I.
+ Rapper, actor, and Akoo fashion designer
On his grooming habits:
"The most important part of my grooming routine? Hygiene. It doesn't matter how you look as much as how you smell. You can look good and smell bad and nobody will see you. You smell bad, look good, and everybody will smell you. So I think hygiene, cleanliness, is the best grooming tip I can give."
Watch Video: T.I. Reveals His Grooming Secrets!

Taylor Momsen
+ Triple threat: Gossip Girl actress, The Pretty Reckless frontwoman, and John Galliano model
On firing her stylist:
"I don't think being in a band has allowed me to be more free, I think firing my stylist has allowed me to be more free. I now dress myself, and told everyone who was telling me to look a certain way and fit a certain mold for the niche that I was being put in, and I said f*** that. ... I was getting molded into this thing that wasn't who I am, and fitting into the world that can make you popular or something. I was never the popular chick so I don't even know what that means. ... Just making that mental decision that I'm going to be myself, and if people hate it they can hate it, but at least I'm happy with how I'm walking down the street."

Enrique Iglesias
+ Pop music singer/songwriter who released his album Euphoria in July
On pre-concert pampering:
“Before a show, I'll shower for like, half an hour just because of the steam. And it helps my throat. I'll wax my chest and wax my back...the most important thing is waxing my back. Making sure that my back doesn't get too hairy.”
Watch Video: What's Enrique Iglesias' Style Secret? Waxing!

Ne-Yo
+ R&B star who released his album Libra Scale, started working on a hat line and fragrance this year
On the importance of style:
“I feel like clothing is a lot like music; it's a representation of who you are. So if you are a slouch, if you are an idiot, then dress like that. Go ahead, belt your jeans at your thighs and keep your jeans hanging out so everyone can see your boxer shorts even though we didn't ask to see your boxer shorts, go ahead. Wear your shirt 17 sizes too big, please, by all means, because that's who you are. Oh wait, that's not who you are? Then why the hell are you dressing like that because that's who you're telling me you are! That's what I see when I look at you, I see an idiot. But, that's just my personal opinion. Again, what you look like, speaks before you speak. Before you say a word, people are painting a picture. People are putting together what they think you are just by what you look like. So why would you dress like an idiot if you didn't want people to think you're an idiot."
Watch Video: Ne-Yo Is Currently Working On A Hat Line And Declares The Year Of The Gentleman Not Over

The Game
+ Rapper with a SERIOUS face tat and a love for loose-fitting denim
On if baggy pants should be outlawed:
"They're trying to stop...they just show a bunch of kids wearing baggy pants and try to like make some type of law saying you have to pull up your pants law? It's not going to work. People are still going to be sagging. And, I mean, where are police going to start? Missing murders and hopping out writing out tickets for sagging and there's a lady getting robbed around the corner at gunpoint? I mean, it's too many people sagging. It's multiculture at this point. I mean, Asian, Black, White, every guy sags. It's just, nobody wants to wear their pants all the way up on their navel unless they're going to a business meeting or something. You know, it's cool and it feels better. It's definitely more comfortable. I couldn't ever drive sitting on my pockets. You get it? My wallet's in my back pocket and it's just uncomfortable. So you sag, and when you get out of the car you keep it moving like that. [But what about these hipsters, you know, who wear the real tight black pants?] They different. They from Mars."
Watch Video: The Game Sees No End To Saggy Pants

Juliet Simms
+ 24-year-old lead singer of Automatic Loveletter
On what to wear on scorching hot summer days:
"I think it's a cool trend to dress more freely and more hippie, but as long as you don't go into the slutty, skanky route of it. Keep it classy, wear some good jewelry, don't let your t*** hang out. Like, cover your things up. But, yeah, if it's hot outside, go about it in a cool, hippie-like, non-whorish way."

Each day, through New Year's Eve, we'll bring you a list featuring some of the most unforgettable looks of 2010.

The red carpet gives musicians a chance to go glam, but the stage is where performers get to show off their true artistic style. And this year saw a number of fun trends in performance wear, including fluorescent colors from M.I.A., couture-like gowns from Florence Welch, and tons of leopard print and glitter from Ke$ha (who else?!). Here, we take a look back at the 2010 performance outfits that got us talking.

FLORENCE AND THE MACHINE: Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine performed at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards in a gorgeous, Grecian-inspired peach gown. The feminine frock had lovely pleating details throughout, and Florence looked almost Goddess-like in the romantic dress.

LADY GAGA: Oh, Lady Gaga. She never disappoints us when it comes to fashion, does she?! The singer looked like a star (a shooting star, specifically) at the Lollapalooza music festival in Chicago in her sculpture minidress.

KE$HA: Known for her "garbage chic" flair, Ke$ha rocked patterned tights, a retro tee, and leopard print gloves on stage at a New York City concert in August. Even though we'd never sport the outfit ourselves, we definitely give Ke$ha props for her boldness!

KATY PERRY: Katy Perry looked pretty as a peacock during a performance at Splash Bar in New York last August. The pop star hit the stage in an embellished white outfit, paired with "peacock feathers" attached to the back. Katy had several jaw-dropping performance outfits this year, but this was definitely the widest wildest!

USHER: One of our favorite hustlers, Usher, took the stage at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards in a head-to-toe black outfit. The futuristic look included a leather vest, padded pants, and flashy sunglasses.

RIHANNA: Rihanna flaunted her fab figure in a shoulder-padded sparkly, pink leotard during a New York performance at Madison Square Garden last August. She rocked the pantless ensemble with embellished black boots and fishnet tights.

M.I.A.: M.I.A. looked like a florescent rainbow at the Spike TV Awards in Los Angeles. The singer picked bright blue hair, a shiny yellow shirt (to match her canary-colored nails), and hot pink bottoms. Plus, check out her fuchsia lipstick! Color us crazy, M.I.A.

NICKI MINAJ: Nicki Minaj went for a superhero theme for her 2010 MTV Video Music Awards performance outfit. The singer chose a pink and purple outfit crafted by designer Marco Marco and repurposed Chanel boots that were reworked with pink leather trim at the thigh.

30 SECONDS TO MARS: Jared Leto, the lead singer of 30 Seconds to Mars, never bores us with his innovative looks. During a performance at the Lowlands Festival in the Netherlands, Jared opted for a white leather jacket, studded red gloves, and a "graphic" tee. He finished off the outrageous outfit with tribal face paint.

PINK: No one could have predicted what Pink would reveal when she started taking off her white hooded dress during her 2010 Grammy Awards performance. The singer stripped down to show off a nude bodysuit with patches of glitter and strategically placed white strips in what was one of the most talked-about performance outfits of the entire year.

Celebs weren't the only ones who dressed to impress in 2010. Throughout the year, we hit the streets to get you to Show Us Your Style and, BOY, were we floored (in a very good way) by what we found. There was Tabia in NYC who we spotted rocking Tron-style sunglasses that, to this day, rival the cool quotient of 30 Seconds to Mars' frontman Jared Leto's animal print shield shades. And we loved seeing all of the marvelous odes to Lady Gaga style outside her New York City concert; our fave Little Monster was Chris who got creative with caution tape (à la Gaga's "Telephone" video). Read on for quotes and clips from other top street stylers.

TRENDY SUNGLASSES

We found Tabia, a 23-year-old who works in public relations, across the street from a Duane Reade in New York City. We were drawn to her entire ensemble—her torn jean vest/shirt, her metallic shell necklace, her braided 'do—but we were FIXATED on her outer space-inspired shades. "When I buy sunglasses, I look for something that other people don't have," said Tabia. Mission accomplished.

LADY GAGA'S LITTLE MONSTERS

New Yorker Chris was one of our favorite Little Monsters waiting outside a NYC Lady Gaga concert over the summer. Inspired by Gaga's "Telephone" video, Chris wore what he called "construction gear," which included caution tape, green shorts and flip-flops.

SNEAKER CON

What makes a sneaker hot? "It's gotta be clean, more than anything. No ripped-up bottoms, can't be squeezed up," said Seth from the Bronx. We spotted this sneakerhead at Sneaker Con in October wearing orange/black/purple Adidas with a pair of Kill City jeans, a shirt from Goliath, a tan cargo jacket, oversize glasses, and a gray bucket hat.

FAST FASHION

For Isabella, a 21-year-old from Cambridge, England, clothes are more than just cover-ups. "When I go shopping I look for stuff which is quite hard-core and rock 'n' roll because I'm in an '80s metal band back home. So I really really want to express my music through my style." When we saw the Cambridge, England native she was wearing a graphic tank top, denim short shorts, combat boots, and a shaved head, like singer Cassie.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SUMMER SHOES

We found Mikey, a fashion publicity student, over the summer wearing a funky pair of black Creative Recreation shoes, which he tucked his skinny jeans into. "I'm willing to spend like $200...I also have a red pair," Mikey added. We're not surprised! The kicks looked like a good investment—perfect for any season.

Each day, through New Year's Eve, we'll bring you a list featuring some of the most unforgettable looks of 2010.

For every outfit that has wowed us this year, there has been one that made us say (out loud), "WTF?!?!" But, we've come to realize that without brazen stars bold enough to push the style limits in wacky getups, there would be no driving force behind our favorite trends. If Ke$ha had never worn head-to-toe neon paint to the MTV EMA (and every place else), we'd probably not have felt as comfortable to rock the trendy bright pink lip look. So, as crazy as they look, we are thankful for these stars and their absolutely insane ensembles.

KE$HA: It has always been about glitter and body paint for singer Ke$ha (oh...and trash bags, too). At the MTV EMA where she got the award for Best New Artist, she wore a neon green leotard covered with large glitter specks and streaks of body paint from her forehead to her ankles, proving that you can wear them both at the same time.

LADY GAGA: Oh, the infamous Franc Fernandez–designed raw meat dress! Turns out the rare outfit Lady Gaga wore to the MTV Video Music Awards wasn't her first in 2010. She covered the October issue of Vogue Hommes Japan in an itty-bitty beef bikini.

TAYLOR MOMSEN: As if Gossip Girl Taylor Momsen's raccoon eyes and stripper-esque aren't wild enough...the Pretty Reckless frontwoman was spotted on multiple occasions (poor footsies) wearing seven-inch lucite tip jar sandals designed by Pleaser.

KATY PERRY: For her "California Gurls" video, singer Katy Perry wore "daisy dukes, bikinis on top, sun-kissed skin"...and a whip cream spraying bra?! Yep, and the whole look was "unforgettable."

Katy Perry squirts whipped cream from her bra in her 'California Gurls' music video.

M.I.A.: There's no denying that M.I.A.'s colorful burka, which was emblazoned with an image of her Maya album cover, was a controversial style selection to wear on the red carpet for Spike TV's Scream 2010 Awards show. But this, from the same British rapper/singer who has also worn neon blue wigs and googly eye glasses (at the same time), shouldn't come as a surprise.

CHRISTINA AGUILERA: Singer Christina Aguilera's MTV Movie Awards outfit included a sparkly bodice teamed with thigh-high boots and long fingerless gloves. The look seemed tame enough...that was until she started performing and the heart over her vajayjay started lighting up.

Christina Aguilera is seen backstage at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards at the Gibson Amphitheatre on June 6, 2010, in Universal City, California.

LEIGHTON MEESTER: Here's the proof we were looking for showing that Leighton Meester can look hot in anything, even a potato sack—or a butt-revealing Marchesa jumpsuit. The Gossip Girl wore the lacy, off-shouldered number to the Harry Winston Court of Jewels Recreation launch in New York City, teaming it with a Marchesa sphere handbag and Nicholas Kirkwood heels.

NICKI MINAJ: The two-faced suit that Nick Minaj wore during her Hot 97's Thanksgiving Concert still makes us blush. The front of the outfit (designed by The Blonds) looked like a normal black silk suit, and the back was a nude bejeweled bodysuit.

RIHANNA: We're secretly sad that Rihanna has sworn off shoulder pads, because that means we won't see more garments like the pointy-shouldered, cleavage-showing green Alexandre Vauthier jumpsuit she wore for the Echo Awards in March.

MILEY CYRUS: Miley Cyrus strayed far, far, FAR away from her Hannah Montana persona while performing at the MuchMusic Video Awards in Canada. The singer/actress went for a scantily clad look, wearing leather short shorts, a cutout fishnet leotard, a rolled bandanna, and striped calf socks with booties.

It's no secret that we're suckers for red carpet fashions—we just love seeing our favorite celebs get glammed up for a big night out (OK, confession...we secretly envision ourselves walking the red carpet in their ensembles). This year we saw hundreds of gorgeous red carpet looks, but a few of them were especially stunning, like Blake Lively's red hot Chanel outfit and the floor-length gold gown Heather Morris rocked at the Emmy Awards in August. Here they are, plus eight other red carpet winners from the past year.

ANNA KENDRICK: Twilight star Anna Kendrick opted for a violet Alberta Ferretti gown for the Screen Actors Guild Awards in January. The floor-length dress had a bustier top and feathery skirt. Anna added simplistic glamour to the garment by sweeping her hair back into an elegant up 'do.

BLAKE LIVELY: Blake Lively wore Chanel (one of her favorite designers) to the premiere of The Town at the Toronto International Film Festival in September. The actress, who just landed a campaign with the famed French fashion house, chose a sparkly red shift with funky feather details. She stuck to the script with matching pumps and lipstick.

CAMILLA BELLE: Actress-turned-model Camilla Belle wowed us at the Cannes Film Festival in a decadent navy dress from the Gucci Premiere capsule collection. The floor-length frock had a thigh-high slit and a pretty embellished chest strap. To top it off Camilla went for old Hollywood glamour with bright red lipstick and a chic swept back 'do.

EMMA STONE: Pre-blonde makeover, Emma Stone looked elegant in a strapless black dress at the 2010 Vanity Fair Oscar Party. Aside from the pockets, we especially liked the way the shift's slit opened to reveal funky, strappy sandals. The whole look popped, thanks to Emma's green earrings and red lipstick.

FERGIE: They say that red is a "power" color, and Fergie certainly looked powerful—and sexy—in her one-shoulder Zac Posen dress at the 2010 Glamour Women of the Year Awards. The singer chose matching red pumps to finish the hear-me-roar look.

HEATHER MORRIS: Glee star Heather Morris sported a floor-length gown by Ina Soltani for the Emmy Awards in August. The dramatic column dress was one of our favorite looks of the awards show, and we loved how Heather kept her accessories simple with just a bracelet by Kwiat.

JESSICA ALBA: For the Los Angeles screening of Machete, Jessica Alba wore a black and gold sparkly Balmain dress with a fun zig-zag pattern. She paired the dazzling mini with Anndra Neen jewelry and bold, stiletto sandals.

KERI HILSON Beige was one of this year's hottest colors, and Keri Hilson rocked it beautifully at the Grammy Awards in January, wearing a strapless Dolce & Gabbana mermaid gown that had a sparkly crystal waist band.

LEA MICHELE: The strapless Oscar de la Renta gown that Lea Michele picked for August's Emmy Awards, had a sweetheart neckline and lots of pretty ruffle details all along the voluminous skirt. And check out that bling around her neck!!

ROBERT PATTINSON: Our favorite leading ladies weren't the only ones to grab our attention on the red carpet this year. Heartthrob Robert Pattinson rocked a maroon Gucci suit for the premiere of Twilight Saga: Eclipse on June 24 in Los Angeles. It suited (pun intended) the actor perfectly, and the thin gray tie added a sexy finish.

With her fabulous hair and wild, waist-cinching wardrobe, this was the year that Nicki Minaj hit her style stride. And the rapper's fashion risks have paid off in a big way—last month she launched her own lipstick with M.A.C, designers are clamoring for the opportunity to dress her for events, and she single-handedly made wearing head-to-toe bubble gum pink the couture thing to do. But has she reached style icon status? You be the judge...

AT THE BET AWARDS: Wearing bouncy orange curls and a long white tulle Rochas by Olivier Theyskens archival gown from the Spring 2004 collection, Nicki turned heads at the 2010 BET Awards show.

IN JUMPSUITS: To show off her killer curves on stage, Nicki often chose flashy, form-fitting catsuits, which she paired with above the knee or ankle boots and rainbow-colored locks.

AT THE BET STUDIOS: Save for her kelly green bob and sunny knee-high peep-toe boots, Nicki looked relatively demure for an appearance on BET.

AT HOT 97 SUMMER JAM: During a summer performance, Nicki looked fierce in an auburn angled bob, a fitted minidress, an armful of bracelets and some INSANE 2 Bitchez Deep spiked platform shoes.

IN 'VIBE' MAGAZINE: Decked out in puffy-sleeved dresses, thigh-high socks and boots, and ornate hairstyles, our favorite Barbie doll played the part in the June/July issue of Vibe magazine.

AT THE VH1 DIVAS SALUTE THE TROOPS: Nicki performed wearing a Versace floral print stretch dress from the Fall 2010 preview collection, teal tights, and super-high teal Christian Louboutin Misfit pumps. How she was able to walk in those shoes? Who knows!

AT THE AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS: The petite rapper went glam (with a goth spin) in an embellished Manish Arora skeleton dress for the American Music Awards, which she teamed with green-tipped platinum locks.

Katy Perry rarely plays it safe. Whether it's a flirty tutu skirt or a dramatic couture gown, the pop star's sartorial choices are anything but boring. She even made latex a popular "fabric" this year! Here, we rounded up KP's most impressive style moments of 2010.

IN LATEX DRESSES: If not for Katy Perry, we might have never associated latex with fashion. This year, she flaunted several latex minis (custom versions of the Syren latex halter dress by Abigail Greydanus) with delicious prints like cupcakes and cotton candy to various events.

Katy Perry on June 22, 2010, in Toronto, on Sept. 5, 2010, in in Berlin, on Nov. 8, 2010, in New York City, and Nov. 14, 2010, in London.

IN SHORT SHORTS: Given the fact that she's a true California "Gurl" (born in Santa Barbara, Calif.), it should come as no surprise that Katy Perry loves her short shorts! She rocked bedazzled blue ones for some of her biggest performances in 2010, and of course, there's the low-rise denim pair from her popular "California Gurls" music video.

AT THE JINGLE BALL: Rocking a sexy santa ensemble, Katy Perry got into the Christmas spirit during her performance at the Jingle Ball on Dec. 11 in New York City. Katy also dressed as a snowman and a nutcracker during other December performances.

IN STREET STYLE: Even during her downtime, Katy kept it cool with one-shoulder sweaters, knee-high socks, graphic tees, and pumps in poppy shades (purple!).

IN TUTUS: Katy started an unexpected trend in 2010. The singer wore a number of ballerina skirts for performances this year, which she paired with embellished/studded tutu tops. And then, we all wanted to rock a tutu!

Singer Katy Perry poses for a photo during a taping of NBC's 'Today' in Rockefeller Center on Aug. 27, 2010, in New York City. Katy Perry performs on stage at MTV World Stage Live in Malaysia 2010 on July 31, 2010, at the Sunway Lagoon Surf Beach in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

ON MAGAZINE COVERS: While she opts for color and pizazz on stage, Katy stripped down for some magazine cover appearances. She wore a rosy pink bra and panty set on the cover of Rolling Stone and a black latex (of course!) bottom with Charlotte Olympia ankle boots for the U.K. cover of Esquire.

ON SESAME STREET: This green Giles Deacon shift started quite the stir when Katy wore it to the taping of a Sesame Street special. The show decided not to air the program because of Katy's cleavage.

AT THE ACADEMY AWARDS: Katy looked regal in red at the 2010 Vanity Fair Oscar Party, where she wore a floor-length gown from Zuhair Murad's Spring 2010 Couture collection. The column shift had a festive zigzag pattern and hugged Katy's curves perfectly.

AT THE MTV MOVIE AWARDS: The singer sported a sheer, sparkly mini from Zuhair Murad's Fall 2010 collection for the MTV Movie Awards. While the dress may have been a neutral color, Katy added big splashes of color with bright blue hair, yellow nails and gray and yellow Rock & Republic Lotus platform pumps.

AT THE VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS: In addition to donning rainbow highlights and her then-fiance Russell Brand's face on her nails at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards, Katy Perry wore a black and white Marchesa mini dress with Jimmy Choo sandals and a chunky M.C.L. by Matthew Campbell Laurenza ring. Some fashion critics thought she looked like a wannabe ice skater; little did they know that it was just the beginning, and that later in the year, the singer would also dress up as a snowman, Mrs. Claus and a tin soldier.

Lady Gaga was arguably the biggest style star of the year. She did it all, from transforming herself into a man for the September cover of Vogue Hommes Japan, to showing up in a head-to-toe meat dress at MTV’s Video Music Awards. Between her daring red carpet numbers and her embellished and sculpted performance ensembles, the pop star made headlines every time she stepped out of her hotel room! We can't wait to see how Lady Gaga reinvents herself in 2011, but in the meantime, let’s look back at her top style moments from 2010.

AT THE BRIT AWARDS: Lady Gaga looked almost ghostly at the 2010 Brit Awards, where she showed up in a custom-made Francesco Scognamiglio tiered cape. She stuck with the white theme by wearing a huge wig and lace mask by London milliner Philip Treacy.

AT THE amfAR GALA: The singer showed off another head-to-toe white outfit at the amFAR Gala in New York City last February. Lady Gaga wore a textured white blazer with matching panties, hat and heeled boots. But her body decorations were what had people talking! The pop icon glued white pearls to her face to finish the look. We say, that’s dedication!!

ON THE VMA RED CARPET: The pop star paid tribute to the late designer Alexander McQueen in one of his colorful creations at MTV’s 2010 Video Music Awards. Lady Gaga walked the red carpet in a floor-length gown from his Fall 2010 collection.

IN HER VMA MEAT DRESS: Lady Gaga’s infamous meat dress was, without a doubt, the year’s most talked about outfit. Designed by Franc Fernandez, the jaw-dropping look was made with REAL beef. And even though Fernandez used more than 50 pounds of meat, the designer said Gaga told him it was one of the most comfortable dresses she's ever worn!

AT THE GRAMMY AWARDS: Lady Gaga was dressed for the Grammy Awards exclusively by Armani Privé. From her lilac solar system dress, to her sparkly green stage number and white lightening bolt look, Gaga stole the show with both her in-your-face style and stage performances.

IN FISHNETS: Taylor Momsen, is that you? Lady Gaga reminded us of the Gossip Girl actress in this revealing look that she wore for Lollapalooza in August, which included ripped fishnet stockings and a sheer top. We love how she tried to be modest by covering her nipples with star stickers! Classic Gaga.

IN A SHEER BODYSUIT: Gaga continued with the sheer theme during an October performance in Los Angeles, where the pop star sported a see-through body suit adorned with sequins and studs. Lady Gaga carried the embellished look all the way down to her studded booties!

WITH SUN HAIR: It wasn’t her outfit (which was relatively tame for the performer), but Gaga’s crazy hairdo that stunned us at the 2010 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. It's no wonder Gaga sported dark shades indoors...her hair looked like a big, bright sun.

IN TOUR OUTFITS: Lady Gaga loved Giorgio Armani’s designs so much that she tapped him to design several of her tour outfits! We can’t get over how colorful, voluminous, and sculptured each piece looked—and Gaga pulled them off fabulously.

ON MAGAZINE COVERS: Lady Gaga’s magazine appearances were anything but cookie-cutter. She appeared on the September 2010 cover of Vogue Hommes Japan as her male alter ego, Jo Calderone, went topless for her cover shoot with Vanity Fair, and sported a machine gun bra and black thong for Rolling Stone.

Do you remember that "No White After Labor Day" rule? Yeah, well, it didn't really apply in 2010. This year (from summer to winter) it was all about the Little White Dress. Celebs such as Kim Kardashian and Jessica Alba chose the clean, crisp shade in everything from belted cocktail dresses to curve-hugging strapless shifts. Little Black Dress, you might want to watch your back!

ONE SHOULDER: The one-shoulder look was clearly having a moment on red carpets. Celebs like Selena Gomez and January Jones showed just how flattering the neckline/collarbone-revealing style could be by wearing it with little (if any) jewelry.

BELTED: Jessica Alba's white dress collection runs deep (it was her favorite color to wear out and about). But the fashionista also has a TON of belts, which she used to brighten her look and cinch her waist.

DRAPEY: Glee star Naya Rivera and singer Selena Gomez added ancient flavor to their Grecian-inspired LWD with cowled sleeves.

A-LINE: It's no wonder Elle Fanning, Ashley Greene, and Carrie Underwood all chose this ladylike silhouette—it's flattering on ANY body type. If you're thin, it creates curves; if you have curves, it makes them look hotter.

LONG-SLEEVE: Gossip Girl Leighton Meester gave the long-sleeve minidress trend legs when she wore this intricately embroidered Emilio Pucci number to the Teen Choice Awards in August.

STRUCTURED HIPS: Whitney Port and Anne Hathaway created the illusion of an hourglass shape in white dresses with hip-slung ruffles. So sneaky!

POUFY: In addition to great hair and acting ability, we bet Dakota Fanning and her younger sister, Elle, share fashion tips, too. They were both spotted in voluminous/vintage-y toile dresses, which they both paired with black heels.

LONGER LENGTH GOWNS: Glee's Amber Riley, Kim Kardashian, and Kirsten Dunst wore floor-grazing snowy dresses, debunking the myth that long white dresses are only for your wedding day.

I love these two as a couple. What a festive way to celebrate two important events in their life. Mariah looks like a dream.
