Makeup Products For A Clean, Natural Look

One in three women refuse to leave the house without their war paint...err, makeup on, found a recent study. Shocking! Um, no, not really. We've been there, and totally done that! While we'll probably never give up all of our cosmetics, there is a way to ween yourself off using SO MUCH of it, says L.A.-based makeup artist Napoleon Perdis, who tends to Amanda Bynes and Hilary Duff. Apply products that showcase your natural beauty, instead of cover it up. "Everyone's after that lit-from-within healthy glow, and it's actually really easy to get with minimal products," says Napoleon. Let's hope so.

GET THE LOOK...

STEP 1: Apply a liquid foundation like NARS Sheer Glow Foundation ($42) with a sponge. Try beautyblender ($19.95). Using a sponge will help prevent unnatural-looking streaks.

STEP 2: Smile like you mean it, and then use a large powder brush to apply Napoleon Perdis Blush Patrol ($50) to the apples of your cheeks. It will give your skin that perfect warmth.

STEP 3: To create clean, sharp brows, highlight the brow bone with a white eye pencil, and use a small eye brush to blend softly over the line. "The contrast between the pencil and the brow creates a crisp look," says Napoleon.

STEP 4: Apply a coat of brown or black mascara, then blend together shades of brown eye shadow from a palette like CoverGirl Exact Eyelights Eye-Brightening Eyeshadows in Vibrant Browns ($7.49) to define the eyes a little. Blend a champagne shade as a base, a shimmering coco brown for the lids, and a darker hue in the crease.

STEP 5: Swipe on a a creamy lipstick or a tinted balm like Bobbi Brown Tinted Lip Balm in Bronzed Pink ($18) for the perfectly natural pout.

ACCESSORIES:

+ 'I’m A Survivor' Crew Socks by Betsey Johnson: Keep your feet cozy with these cute black and pink I’m a Survivor Crew Socks from Betsey Johnson ($10, betseyjohnson.com). That pretty face above the ankle belongs to Marilyn Monroe. A portion of the proceeds go to National Breast Cancer Coalition Fund and the Weill Cornell Breast Center of the Iris Cantor Women's Health Center at New York-Presbyterian Hospital.

+ Liz Flat by Elaine Turner: Elaine Turner’s Flats ($175, elaineturner.com) come in an array of colors and textures, like glittery gold and purple suede, but we love the awesome pink snake Liz flat, since it gives any outfit an ideal burst of color. As for charity, 50 percent of the proceeds go to the Lester & Sue Smith Breast Center.

+ Pink Scarf by Yoana Baraschi: With winter slowly creeping up, what better way to warm up than with a deep pink scarf? Wear this Yoana Baraschi Scarf ($98.60, YoanaBaraschi.com) with a black blazer while indoors, or tuck it into your green cargo jacket when you step outside. With this purchase, 100 percent of the proceeds go to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Plus the cool coral color is a great everyday hue.

+ 1 In 8 Lipgloss by Balmshell ($11): The sheer pink shade of Balmshell’s 1 in 8 Lip Gloss ($11, sephora.com) reminds us of a strawberry milk shake. And purposeful packaging features different color bras in various sizes to promote Breast Cancer Awareness, and $1 from every lip gloss sold will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
