Lynn Dell And Leandra Medine.

You know how much we love Advanced Style. Ari Seth Cohen's blog-turned-book-turned-documentary is one of our favorite destinations for inspiration that transcends trends, and with his latest endevour he has paired some of our fave bloggers with some truly fabulous advanced ladies. Advanced Style x Coach: Generations of Style should be required watching for every young fashion fan, as each of the segments is filled with unbeatable advice. Cohen paired Man Repeller's Leandra Medine up with "Countess of Glamour" Lynn Dell for the series, and watching the two together fills our hearts with endless amounts of joy as we put our noses into our notebooks and furiously write down all of Lynn's expert advice.

A little background: Lynn Dell is a New York City fashion legend. The owner of Boutique Off Broadway on Manhattan's Upper West Side, she's been a provider of sage style advice for more than 40 years. Leandra recalls one of Lynn's most well known quotes in the video, which is one that we're going to put in our pocket and carry around forever. "Fashion says 'me too;' style says 'only me.'" Isn't that the truth?! Advanced Style also paired blogger Susie Bubble with Ilona Royce Smithkin and FrouFrouu with Linda Rodin and we would highly recommend watching all three videos. Sharpen your pencils!

anna sui nyfw fall 2012

Leave it to Anna Sui to throw some sunny happiness on these New York Fashion Week proceedings. Her fall 2012 show was all about bright color, vivid florals, owls (*hoot*), and the happiest models we've ever seen. From the opening model tableau to the parade of sprites with spring in their steps, the collection was all about schoolyard Kool-Aid fun times with a dash of '60s styling, some '70s inspiration, and enough argyle sassiness to start a pep rally (holla). Did we mention the show also included Sui's new handbag collaboration with Coach? And that she's designing bedding for spring? It was all so brash and jovial that we (and most of Twitter) decreed it the most delightful show at #NYFW.

It's officially SWEATER WEATHER, y'all. It's finally time to bust out those layering skills that you've put to rest all summer long and get to WORK. Super cute cardigans are the easiest way to warm up in a jiff, and the best part about these bad boys is that they can be worn with LITERALLY any ensemble. They can be super long, super short, super sheer, super thick, but mostly, just super awesome. We handpicked three bloggers who wore cardigans in some jealously-inducing ways that we want to try immediately. Let's find out how to cop their look below!

DANG, it's hot in herrr! Like, to the point where walking literally one block equals a giant sweat moustache, runny mascara, and the equivalent red-faceness from an intense 30-minute jogging sesh. It's triple digits out there, people. Luckily, there are some ways to beat the heat and STILL look cute—our favorite way is with an oversized sun hat! Not only does it keep you cool during a scorcher, but it's instant SPF. Plus, it adds a too-cool-for-school '70s vibe to any ensemble in a snap. Check out how three cute-as-a-button (and non-sweaty) fashion bloggers sported their sunny chapeaus!

Clarissa Darling from 'Clarissa Explains It All.'
Photo: Blogue.us

Clarissa from the '90s hit Clarissa Explains It All proves that everything old becomes new again. Case in point: The character's eclectic style (oversize button-downs, patterned biker shorts, and Doc Martens) reminds us of the ensembles worn by practically every fashion plate at last weekend's Coachella. {Fab Sugar}

• U.S. Olympic figure skater Johnny Weir is slated to debut a line of Little Black Dresses exclusively at edressme.com on April 30. And, as expected, the frocks will be fashioned out of materials like ostrich feathers, sequins, and silk taffeta. Check out his first sketch! {SheFinds}

• Talk about A BAG. The Hermes Birkin bag recently auctioned off by Jane Birkin herself on eBay was sold for a whopping $162,840, with proceeds going to the British Red Cross. {Glamour}

• Designer Tom Ford was the sole fashion representative to make it on Time magazine's "Time 100" list. And after reading all of the sweet things Rita Wilson wrote about him for the list, we can totally see why. {Huffington Post}

• Bids for the black bra/white wide leg pants combo that Britney Spears wore in a Japanese candy commercial in 1999 are hovering around $5K. When it's all said and done, proceeds from the auction will benefit Japan. {The Cut}

• The rumor mill is predicting that Gwyneth Paltrow may be the next face of Coach. We can see it. {Refinery 29}

• Did Mark Zuckerberg read our "Denim Makeover" post? We think so! The Facebook CEO chucked his usual hoodie and ratty jeans for a collared shirt, tie, and sleek jeans (though he still wore tennis shoes!) during an interview with President Obama yesterday. {Huffington Post}

• If you think Paramore's Hayley Williams is satisfied with her orange/fiery red locks, think again. The singer recently told People magazine that she wants "to try every color." Sounds like fun—just stock up on that deep conditioner, girl! {People StyleWatch}

• It sounds like there is yet ANOTHER collaboration in the works for the Kardashians. This time the sisters are rumored to be creating a nail polish with OPI. Then shampoo...then baby wipes...then windshield wipers...{Coco Perez}

• Former Harper's Bazaar editor in chief Kate Betts thinks Kate Middleton will "wear McQueen for Westminster Abbey and... Victoria Beckham to the evening party." We totes agree with THIS prediction. {Styleite}

• Yikes! It must be bad when OSHA gets involved. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) just issued a Hazard Alert for stylists working with the Brazilian Blowout hair straightener for its formaldehyde content." {Huffington Post}

Riley Keough, granddaughter to Elvis Presley and daughter to Lisa Marie, is the new face for Lee Jeans' latest ad campaign shot by Terry Richardson. {Coco Perez}

• Shoes can cost a pretty penny. But nothing compares to this Christopher Michael Shellis-designed pair of high-heel sandals, which are made from solid gold and encrusted with diamonds—the pumps will set you back around $200,000! {Telegraph}

Coach recently sued Jo-Ann Fabrics for featuring elongated Os on their Blizzard Fleece fabric, which look super-similar to Coach's iconic Cs. {Huffington Post}

• You know spring/summer is on the horizon when flip-flops make the news. Today the Michael Bastian for Havaianas unisex collection launches in stores and online. And they're CUTE! {Racked}

Kerry Washington at 'The Details' portrait session at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, on Jan. 25.
Photo: Getty Images

When you're trying to look cute in nose-biting weather, you often have to get quite creative. Which is exactly what Kerry Washington did while hanging out in Park City, Utah for the 2011 Sundance Film Festival, where her upcoming independent film The Details premiered. The actress was spotted wearing a Yeojin Bae sweater, Calvin Klein jeans, Coach boots, and an interesting Express gray pom-pommed scarf/capelet during a portrait session for the film on Jan. 25, her crew confirmed on Twitter. It appears that the knit can be worn around the neck as a scarf, or pulled down over shoulders (like Kerry did here) as a capelet (try the look yourself with this find). We're still trying to decide if this warming trend is cool or quirky. What do you think?

+ Would you wear an over-the-shoulder capelet sweater like Kerry Washington?
