After causing a commotion in Abu Dhabi and doing some grassroots advertising for her final River Island collection while in Greece, Rihanna’s Diamonds World Tour took her next to Israel, where the girl is single-handedly making headbands cool again. But not in, like, a Blair Waldorf kind of way. These headbands have edge and could not be further from Upper East Side prep. They’re actually more like headband/visor hybrids, but the only thing they’re shielding Rih from is her own forehead—so, for all intents and purposes, we’ll call them hisors. JK. We'll call them headbands.

Last night, Maud and I had the pleasure of seeing Rihanna in Brooklyn for the New York stop on her sold-out Diamonds World Tour. Actually, the show was supposed to be on Saturday but there was some scheduling kerfuffle involving The Nets and that's pretty much where my knowledge and interests end because I know ZERO about all sports outside of competitive eating. Anyway, as you know, we've been covering the DWT extensively, as well as the incredible performance outfits dreamt up by her genius styling team Adam Selman and Mel Ottenberg, so here are our collective thoughts on Rihanna's DWT togs IRL. Warning: be prepared for a DEPRESSING amount of envy given the all-custom-everything nature of the clothes that are displayed on the borg-perfect body of a bajillionaire.

I have a very special relationship with Rihanna merch. First of all, it only seems fair that I tell you that as I write this post I'm wearing a pair of white Skullcandy headphones branded with Rihanna's Unapologetic artwork, and when I write our publishing lineup in the morning, it's in a notebook emblazoned with the same 'R,' all courtesy of the swag bag I got when Mary H.K. Choi and I were
imprisoned on a plane with a bunch of lunatics flown around the world by the nice people at Island Def Jam. I also own a pair of socks with Rihanna's face on them. Basically, if you looked at me right now, you would think I was a major Rihanna stan, and even, maybe, a bit of a creep. But I think I've earned my stripes as a bona-fide member of the Rihanna Navy on the 777 Tour, so whatever haters, dress me up in overall crop tops and RiRi Woo, because I'm about it. As the release of the 777 Tour documentary—also known as the moment you get to see certain MTV Style contributors sleeping with their mouths open on national television—inches ever closer (it airs on Fox, Monday May 6th, lord help us all), and Mary and I prepare to attend Rihanna's Diamonds tour at Barclay's Center, I feel like I need to share some of my Rihanna swag knowledge with you, Internet. Because you're going to want to show your RiRi pride while you're hip-thrusting along to "Phresh Out The Runway" and sobbing to "Stay," trust.
Let A$AP Rocky be irrefutable proof that repping hard for designers you believe in has major perks. Back in January, Rocky posted an Instagram of himself wearing a KTZ tunic hoodie on the streets of London. It was a major statement look, but one Pretty Flacko, always the risk-taker, totally pulled off and with unabashed enthusiasm. Welp, showing that love has worked in the dude's favor, as the UK-based design duo has supplied Rocky with a custom, personalized jumpsuit/sweatsuit situation performance outfit for Rihanna's Diamonds World Tour.
Rihanna performing during her Diamonds World Tour, and a face chart of her MAC makeup look.
You might remember when we had a veritable freak out over Rihanna's collaboration with MAC and her "RiRi Woo" lipstick (I mean, it's perfect). Well, we've been in a constant state of freak out ever since, what with her epic tour looks and the news that Rihanna for River Island will have a second season, but now we can put all of our excess energy to good use! Vogue got all the details on Ri's Diamonds tour look, which was conceived by MAC senior makeup artist Christopher Del Castillo, and highlights her "RiRi Woo" lip color. It's not a stretch for Rihanna to wear a red lip as the foundation for her tour look — Ri has become known for her impeccable crimson pout, and we love the idea that MAC built a whole look around her signature.

Rihanna's oh-so-anticipated (and sold out!) Diamonds World Tour officially kicked off on Friday night in Buffalo, New York, which means there's tons of fresh performance outfits for us to drool over. Yasss! When it comes to Ri's on-stage ensembles, she doesn't mess around—longtime stylist Mel Ottenberg helped create an almost entirely-custom wardrobe for her tour, which includes everything from metallic jumpsuits to holographic sneakers to floor-sweeping capes. We counted 7 outfit changes (dang!) from her Friday show—one of our favorites being a superhero-inspired red, white, yellow and black custom Adam Selman (who we talked to last week!) leather bustier and pants number paired with custom Manolo Blahnik white snakeskin boots. According to WWD, Rihanna's all-black ensemble was custom Givenchy couture by Riccardo Tisci, which featured a black and white leather bra with golden buckles and stars, black silk and satin embroidered shorts, and a gold shark tooth necklace that says "RIRI." Also, PLEASE peep those thigh-high gold-studded leather boots. #dead
