Whitney Port in Giuseppe Zanotti on April 26, Vonzell Solomon in Senso on April 26, and Hayden Panettiere in Jimmy Choo on April 26.

This week's Shoe Update was kiiiind of a no-brainer. I mean, when I see these ladies all in a row, my eyeballs physically cannot stray past the confines of the less-than-1-inch area between their ankles and the carpet. Just LOOK at these stompers! They're literally SCREAMING for a feature in a celeb/fashion/humor/style blog. Am I riiiiight? And the ladies totally know it, too, as evidenced by how much they downplay the rest of their ensembles. After hitting up the Lakers-Hornets game, Whitney Port pops over to the Us Weekly Hot Hollywood party on April 26 in these bright purple lace-up platforms with stacked heels by Giuseppe Zanotti. (Possibly in honor of the Lakers' win that night?) She lets the shoes shine by pairing them with an understated one shoulder mini for a cool-but-not-too in-your-face combo. In a black body-con and blazer, Vonzell Solomon from American Idol lets her pink cheetah booties (whaaaaat??) by Senso take center stage at the opening of 'Burn The Floor' in Hollywood. Hayden Panettiere braves a skinnier heel in these Jimmy Choo black platform peep toes with the BLANG-BLANGin-est ankle straps to ever walk the red carpet. Hayden streamlines her outfit with a little black-on-black-on-black, but her iced out ankles are clearly the stars of this little number. In a line-up so diverse, how can you choose a favorite?? GIMME 'EM ALL! (Summer Santa?)

Teresa Palmer in Christian Louboutin on March 2, Eva Mendes in Pierre Hardy on Feb. 26, Mia Wasikowska in Nicholas Kirkwood on Feb. 26

Strappy sandals aren't what they used to be. And that's a good thing! Instead of the same ol' tied-up/ankle wrapped/crisscrossed look, we're seeing tons of upgrades to the classic silhouette. Teresa Palmer's laced-up-to-her-shins croc-print Christian Louboutin pumps prove that straps aren't reserved for sandals alone, while Eva Mendes' double ankle tie adds an unexpected twist to her bright turquoise Pierre Hardy heels. We also loved the cutout details of Mia Wasikowska's Nicholas Kirkwood peep-toes which created a pseudo strappy feel to her funky slingbacks. These stylish sandals have us super excited to show off our crackle coat pedicures, but which pair is your favorite?

Our favorite part about awards shows is that we get to see dozens of hot trends on dozens of celebrities at one time. Such was the case at the 2011 Critics' Choice Movie Awards, where sheer fabric frocks carried over their dominance from 2010 and "mullet dresses" had their official coming-out party. Check out the other statement-making looks we loved.

SHEER DELIGHT: Short and sheer was the name of the game as actress Eva Mendes rocked an allover see-through Valentino number. Meanwhile, Elle Fanning's Valentino dress and Keri Hilson's black frock featured just hints of mesh.

MULLET DRESSES: It was business in the front, and party in the back for Mila Kunis in Nina Ricci, Michelle Williams in Balenciaga, and Khloe Kardashian in an animal print gown.

PEACHY KEEN: Flesh tone dresses full of embellishments, including glitter and ruffles, had a strong showing. We loved Jennifer Lawrence's L'Wren Scott pencil dress, Hailee Steinfeld's Marchesa cocktail dress and Elle Fanning's flippy Valentino dress.

STRAPLESS SWEETHEARTS: With or without jewelry, Amber Rose, Sofia Vergara, and Mandy Moore slipped into sexy collarbone-revealing gowns for the red carpet. Amber's mermaid dress and Sofia's metallic Temperley London showed off their figures, too, while Mandy's Monique Lhuillier just skimmed over her curves.

Eva Mendes in Salvatore Ferragamo, Ciara in Prada, Selita Ebanks in Christian Louboutin.

Celebrities are quick to reach for closed-toe pumps as the weather cools down, which is clear since this hot style dominated the red carpet last week. Eva Mendes wore gunmetal Salvatore Ferragamo shoes, Ciara chose leopard print Prada pumps, and model Selita Ebanks picked out black studded Christian Louboutin heels. These ladies looks so chic! And they didn't have to sacrifice the warmth of their toes to do it. But which pair did you like best — Eva, Ciara, or Selita's? Our pick: Ciara ... she has leopard!

Aside from Katy Perry's adorable accessories, we also had another favorite look from her Teen Choice Awards hosting gig — her strapless blue-and-green striped dress by Giorgio Armani. The dress is from the designer's spring ready-to-wear collection, and we're loving how wonderfully the stripes flatter her figure, when usually they chop up the body awkwardly. She styled the outfit a little different than the runway look, too, as she skipped the extra skirt around the hips. Which, from our experience with Eva Mendes' hip padding, was a good choice on Katy's part.

Beige, summer’s must-have shade, isn't just for clothes. Right now, it's must-have for beauty as well, particularly the lips, as proven by celebs like Lea Michele, Eva Mendes, Emma Roberts, Stephanie Pratt, and Kristin Cavallari. And that means we're itching to snag some, especially ones that have a slight hint of shimmer without turning your lips into a sparkle factory. One of our favorite new hues is nearly-sheer Liquid Lurex ($14.50) from M.A.C.'s new Digi-Pop collection, which has little specks of glitter in it. Because it is so sheer, it's great to wear alone, but you can also turn it into something vivid by layering it on top of your favorite deep berry shade. For more pigment, try Shu Uemura's Rouge Unlimited Lipstick in 906 ($23), which goes on as a more saturated nude. And if you want an even deeper, richer neutral, try Nars's Satin Lipstick in Promiscuous ($24), which we love for its bronze undertones. Go ahead, shine on.

+ Price: $14.50 to $24.

In our ongoing quest to find the hottest shoes on the feet of the hottest people, we've hit a new high in our search: Celebs are digging leopard footwear. Hands up! It's been quite the week for the animal print, and we're psyched about it. Jennifer Lopez covered Glamour in a leopard lingerie-inspired top, Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick strutted around New York in leopard shorts and shoes, respectively, and everyone from style bloggers to rising style star Zoe Kravitz stepped out with Alexander Wang's leopard-print Deigo bag. Now the leopard obsession has trickled down to feet — Kristin Cavallari wore leopard Mary-Jane pumps this week, Chris Brown wore leopard sneakers to the premeire of Takers, and at Comic Con recently, Vanessa Hudgens wore strappy leopard heels by Jerome C. Rousseau. Long live leopard print! Go ahead, embrace your inner animal. It's not tacky if we all do it.

At the premiere, and at the after-party.

Designers are always interested in dressing Eva Mendes, so we're always looking to see what she picked for her red carpet looks. And last night, we were so lucky to see her in TWO different dresses — double duty! First, she wore a gray Oscar de la Renta dress with a full skirt and black slingback heels by Sergio Rossi to the New York premiere of The Other Guys. While she looked chic in this dress, we were more than a little distracted by the extra padding around her hips. And it didn't have to be that way! That skirt is detachable! She could've just took it off, especially because it hides her frame, which, if we remember correctly, looks like this. However, for the after-party, she went for a more form-fitting look by switching into a colorful printed frock with brown, white, yellow, and magenta swatches, which she paired with rose-colored suede pumps by Brian Atwood. We definitely like the printed dress better. It's so much more fun!

+ Which dress do you like more on Eva — solid or print?

We've been loving Ashlee Simpson's rich ombre waves lately. (FYI: And ombre style is when the color graduates slightly from top to bottom ... it's like getting your hair dyed so it looks like your roots grew out ON PURPOSE). And she's not the only one to rock this look. Gorgeous brunettes like Rachel Bilson and Alexa Chung have also been keeping their ends light and roots darker. What is it about this hue that makes it so perfect right now? Read More...
